OasisX:Simple: Because perception is a stronger force than reality. If you can successfully push a narrative, it matters little if reality contradicts the tales you tell. It was always a propaganda job. 24/7 electricity isn't something you achieve in one day. You need certain modalities in play. --- For example, Ibom Power currently generates 84MW and has the capacity to generate 179MW with a scale-up of up to 700+MW; but the Transmission Company of Nigeria can only take up 32MW to sell to PHED. Ibom Power has to transmit the rest itself to Ikot Abasi, Mkpat Enin, and Eket LGAs while the rest of the electricity goes to waste because TCN can't take up the generated power. Now it's seeking modalities to bypass TCN and transmit directly. That's the only way it can give 24/7 electricity to ALL parts of Akwa Ibom, and parts of Cross River. The whole Abia 24/7 electricity thing was always a propaganda to troll the central government as an opposition party even though it's privately owned; but it has a higher chance of succeeding since it is privately managed. The next thing would be generating adequate revenue from customers - that's profitability. Would customers pay or be entitled to it? One of the issues Ibom Power Company is tinkering with too. Some LGAs feel entitled to it. And that's where electricity metering comes in to avoid estimated billing and loss to corruption. This is the reality. Propaganda is only good for optics. 24/7 electricity isn't something you can do in months. Switching from the national grid itself takes months or longer. Ibom Power had a 2007 headstart but I won't tell you all parts of Akwa Ibom get 24/7 electricity when there's still a TCN middleman as a bottleneck. But people like Twitter lies and likes. They'd run with lies with no proper understanding. |
Nairaland is the highest ranked Nigerian website and has the fastest caching web pages of all Nigerian websites on Google. Don't let anyone get away with lies lest those lies would be regurgitated and spread to reinforce the lies. Defend your identify and attack anyone who tries to misappropriate your identity - your history is a part of your identity. Your offline and online identities are subsets of you. Defend it. Drag it. And don't let yourself get gaslighted into silence. ![]() |
liveLongNprospa:What the hell is this? What sort of self-victimisation is this? You have always seemed like an apologist seeking validation. Nobody wagged a War against Igbos during the Civil War. Ojukwu took a side for the Eastern region, Gowon took a side for Nigeria. We in the Eastern region lost lives, properties and more because we were on the Biafran side. The Nigeria Army rained bombs in Igbo lands and in present-day Akwa Ibom, Delta, and parts of Rivers. There are still testaments to the Nigeria Army bombing in Ikot Ekpene and other places. The Igbos weren't the only victims. We were too. The Biafra side killed too. There was a siege in Ore and Port Harcourt too. No? We just learnt to move past it and stop playing victims. The man who wrote Godswill Akpabio's biography which is on sale wrote a book called "Civil War Child". He's a medical doctor but was in the Civil War when bombs rained in Ikot Ekpene. Do you know Akpabio's family in his native Ikot Ekpene suffered grave casualties as soldiers for Biafra and as innocent community dwellers too? When Ojukwu went into exile, it was an Ibibio man who saw the War to the end. This attitude of claiming Igbos suffered alone while downplaying the contributions of others is another reason why these other tribes in the Old Eastern Region no longer want a part of any such Union in the future. The Biafran side killed like the Nigerian side. The Biafran side suffered famine and starvation everywhere, in and outside Igbo land. Nobody waged war on the Igbos. It was a War against and for Biafra. Stop the self-victimisatiom and pity party. |
A001:The Ibibios have different Abasi. 1. Abasi Eyong - god of the skies 2. Abasi Ikpa isong - god of the earth (This is supposedly the deadliest and called on for vengeance. Controls Ekpo Nka Owo (the law against adultery) like the case which happened in Delta of a cheating confessed housewife dying.) 3. Abasi eyong mme isong - god of the skies and the earth 4. Abasi ukod - god of in-laws (Ibibio culture requires you to defend your in-laws to death so a man who flees harm from anywhere to his wife's place would be defended to death. No excuses. And if you hurt him, there are repercussions.) 5. Abasi eyeyen - god of grandchildren (Your maternal family are expected to defend you and provide for you with their lives in times of need and hurting you comes with grave consequences. I'm more likely to get way with a bad deed at my mother's hometown than her elder brothers' kids, my cousins. That's the rule. I can't be hurt. Until I do extreme). 6. Abasi ederimbot - god of the universe. |
Spy360:The asinine nîtwît is backtracking now and doing a double-speak. No, you must stand on your faux neocolonial mandate. All tribes are Igbos. All tribes in Nigeria, including the Cameroons and Congos are Igbos. Heck! The Japanese have a lot of -chi added to their names. Yep! The Japanese too. The Asian Igbos. Where else? Let me go check. Screw it! Adam and Eve are Igbos. Take that, Creationists. |
liveLongNprospa:Because history and their antecedence on this board and thread have proven they, by default, would join in. Whether with subliminals, passive aggression, or direct head-on dive into the fray, in defense of their tribesperson on any such issue, regardless of whether he's at fault. The first moniker you mentioned particularly. The only reason they haven't joined in yet like other times is because they don't want to be preempted or predictable since I pointed it out. And don't try to gaslight me. When they insult Ibibios untriggered, they weren't focusing on me alone. They attacked the whole tribe. By now you'd have seen this thread flooded with anti-Akwa Ibom jabs, even if it's an individual back-and-forth. Well, since last Saturday, gloves off! |
Spy360:Shush it! You are one of the most fact-checked persons on this thread because you always lie. You give out incorrect statistics and you get shamed always. You made outlandish claims. You thought you were going to get away with lies unchallenged but I busted you. You still have the proving who is the ape man challenge to deal with.. You went tribalistically racist (double prejudicial) so live up to it. [b] I'd dig up pictures of Igbos walking around naked in barns and hamlets, and I dare you to dig up any of the Ibibios going about everyday business like apes. All in the 1900's. Deal? Not replying is an answer in itself. |
BlueRayDick:He does. Oyigbo and Obio Akpor LGAs should have been in the South East in an Igbo State. A small part of Delta too. A tiny part. See how I can be honest? And these are minority of the minority tribes. Ikom LGA alone in Cross River has 17 tribes. 17! Just one LGA. And there are 21 LGAs in the state. How can you claim they are yours? but for the other South South states I believe he's just capping. That's why hé's insáne. A captured man trying to rewrite the history of his capturers. Ibibio which stretch far and wide and with a well-documented history which he doesn't have is where he claims are a subset of him. So, Itshekiris, Urhobos, Ijaws, Binis, Esans and the likes in the South South are Igbos, right? This trick is exactly what they used during the Civil War to try to shortchange us. Trying to rename Uyo to "New Owerri" under the guise of oneness while trying to relocate their people there. We saw this. Others did and backed out of the failed Civil War. Continue to turn in your grave, Col..Effiong for not abandoning the War sooner like the Ibibio Union advised. Ikot Ekpene, Ini, Etim Ekpo, Essien Udim and other LGAs suffered casualties for clandestine usurpers. That's why if you agitate for Biafra in these areas, you'd be shot on sight. On sight! |
BlueRayDick:They are extremely notorious for this. Extremely.. I stated it during the last back-and-forths here from Saturday to Sunday. I stated it during the height of the "No man's land" saga pre and ante general elections. I stated the Igbos always trigger others needlessly then play victims. Always! Notice how it started with Spy360 then Ihebu joined in and by evening all of them would join in. Predictable aggressive lots who bite first, gaslight then play the victims. |
Spy360:You want to go full on self-racism and tribalistic? Well, you asked for it. --- As at 1920, there are still pictures of Igbos walking around naked! Pictured naked in barns and crouching over! NAKED when other tribes were obtaining PhDs and breaking barriers. Since you want to go low, let's do it. I'd dig up links to pictures of actual Igbo apemen in the 1900's and you dig up any of Ibibios or the tribes on the coast. The one who can dig up the pictures wins and the loser deactivates his account. ![]() Deal? |
Spy360:That's not my business. There are Ijaws here. Let them defend themselves. My loyalty is to the Ibibio people and when you wrongly attribute anything to the Ibibio (and Akwa Ibom by extension), I'd respond. You can try to troll with a thousand emojis to cover you shame and deviate. The point is stop appropriating. This is already tribal harassment. If this were that era, you know you would be singing "Kumbaya" in a dingy boat by now. |
Ihebu4chelsea:You are an dumbo who pops up only when there's a tribal war or seemingly one. You have non history. No documented one. The closest you had was years after you had been captured and in-roads made by us for the Europeans to get access. You weren't even organised, had no king, and Village A could go to war with Village B over a bunch of plantain and listened to no one. How then could you have been significant enough for "Igbos" to be the denonym of the many tribes around. Heck! You were in the hinterlands and we were on the coast where everything is. You needed to come to us, not us to you. And you had to pay homage while at it. Show us your history. Was it not less than 200 years ago or so when you had contact with British while most of us on the coast had with the Europeans for over 400 years? Nobody wants to be you. You are the one forcing yourself on us. Stay on your lane. We don't want to be you and certainly not you being us. |
Spy360:You are mád! Imagine a conquered people who were pillaged by all tribes in the Delta estuary, from Ijaws to Itshekiris to Ibibios claiming we are a subset of them. You fuckiñg couldn't read and write while we were already lettered for decades. Until you were captured and sold off. Even the most famous one, was a captured man - Jaja. You'd go fill Wikipedia with histories you imagined then come lie. If I didn't insistently state the 1929 Women Riot happened in Akwa Ibom, posting pictures and more, many of you would still be insisting. Now you want to claim Nsibidi. On Wikipedia you wrote Ibibio and Igbo, next you'd edit it to add only Igbo. Is there an Ekpe cult which is the custodian of Nsibidi in Igbo land? No. How come you own it? Same way you force Afang soup which has been an Ibibio cuisine for centuries as yours. Then rebranded it as Okasi. What is wrong with you people? Stop the forced kinship. We are not interested. Keep your appropriation to yourselves. |
Theflint1:It was civil. I answered A001 and deliberately didn't respond to his reply so it won't spark off something. Only for that whoever-he-is to make crazy claims. "All tribes down south are known as Igbos "? He must be mád! This attitude of appropriation is exactly what breeds distrust with others when we should all live in coexistence otherwise. He must be very mád! |
BlueRayDick:He's a mischievous nitwit. They have begun the aggression then when I and others counter, they play the victims. Imagine people in the hinterlands who nobody knew and were scattered across countless settlements with no united or defined leadership claiming everyone called us then. Even the Portuguese and first Europeans needed us to go get them for the (inhumane) interaction with the outside world they first had. You were the oppressed and never the dominant ones. Was it not Ijaw, Itshekiri and Ibibio manhunters who invaded you and sold you off? Inhumane in retrospective but it happened, so how come you claim out of your anus that all tribes down the Niger were called Igbos? In your hinterlands nobody came to except during the slave trade to hunt and capture? Wasn't it relatively recently their language got written? When Ibibio-Efik and others had been documented for years before that? He just wants to start and argument and rewrite history. Well, it's a weekend. Let's have it. But let's remember who started it first. |
Spy360:I thought of a long rebuttal but then I thought what's the point of it when you lack basic understanding of geolocation to know the difference between South East and the South South where Akwa Ibom is located, or you are being mischievous. You lots just like to force yourself on others even when you have been resoundingly told they have no ties to you. This argument was had just last December on this thread with Okpa and all doubts cleared. When you do this then appropriate other people's cultures. We aren't interested and have no tribal ties to you. Why can't you get this and be on your way? Why force kinship with those who don't want it? Remember clearly you started this so when and if it goes south, we know those who would gaslight and play the victim card on this thread. |
A001:You are wrong. Do your research. The Nsibidi writing system is of the Ibibio people. Until about a century ago, only the Ekpe cult of the Ibibios knew how to write and transcribe it. Till date, only Ekpe cult members can fully transcribe the Nsibide form of writing which is a tiny bit similar to Hieroglyphs. Stop appropriating our history to others. Just like the 1929 Women Riot is wrongly appropriated even though it happened at Ikot Abasi LGA, Akwa Ibom State. Nsibidi has nothing to do with the Igbos. Strictly Ibibio. In crude Ibibio, Nsibidi means "spirit talk", or like Christians say " Speaking in tongues". |
malcom1X:I am an Ibibio man, and he's 100% right. You'd never hear women shame an Akwa-Cross man for being a "two-minute man". Never has happened, and never will. Instead the complain we are sex manaics. Our high libido is almost genetic. If yoy are a man from other tribes and you marry a girl with Akwa-Cross exes, I'm sorry but she's comparing your sexual performances to ours. |
joseph1832:Rock puts one in that introspective mood too and the rhythm is better than all these Shalli-whatever and hairbrained Odumodu songs people listen to these days. There's Soft Rock, Hard Rock, and Mid-tempo Rock. |
Great! But Nigeria stopped enforcing hers for years. You have a lot of effeminate cross-dressers and deviants openly declaring their sexual deviancy yet the government looks the other way. Tinubu who is keen of tightening and increasing partnerships with the West is looking the other way. Everyday blogs are filled with Nigerian crossdressers openly saying the are dating men and enhancing body parts too look female and the police isn't arresting them. I had to quit watching some of Funke Akindele's movies and series - the most recent being "She Must Be Obeyed" since it had male crossdressers and deviants being celebrated on it. Silly skitmakers even feature mad deviants like Bob-whatever and James-whatever. I hope Ghana does a better job at it. |
People who want to listen to only feel good fast-paced songs, I have discovered in my experience, are not deep and mostly happy-go-lucky. If you listen to introspective songs like Sia, Passenger, Jon Bellion and the likes, it tells about who you are. During the talking stage with any female, I sort of gauge their level of introspectiveness with her music tastes, and I've never been wrong about them. Introspective people - ambiverts mostly - ruminate on their actions, conversations they have had, and are more likely to make amends than all these fast-paced songs females who crrave the spotlight and want to drown their thoughts. No, if you are at peace with yourself, listening to R&B songs, and a medley of alternative music and jazz wouldn't make you depressed. I listen to these all day for hours on end while working and I have never felt depressed. |
Whalis:Effeminate bástard trying to come off as tough. Go cry and blow your nose with the wrapper of the unfortunate woman who got hitch to you while she sings lullabies for you to sleep. Worthless low-lowel queer nîtwit. Below is you post crying. Whalis: |
Dilimi:Interestingly, when an Ibibio man Nsima Ekere was made NDDC Chairman in 2016 and served till August 2018 when he resigned to contest the governorship election, the Ijaws led smear campaigns to have him removed but Buhari stood firm. When Akpabio was made Niger Delta Minister, the Ikwerres and some other minorities (the Ibibios and Ijaws are the only majorities in the South South) through Wike led campaigns for him to be sacked. He wasn't. Oddly, he and Wike are buddies on the same boat now. Nigerians are clannish. It's why most never complain of illegalities as long as their people head such bodies or geopolitical areas. |
To Akwa Ibom persons here and other persons, Here is the OP's Facebook account: Ebipreotu Funlayefa https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100092315861729 One of his posts on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/100092315861729/posts/pfbid03JYswi2DGKcZcvYqwxCVqmy737nnSA8aCC8cjSYRJBC47wTyF6RHDxLP5ur9R4E8l/ Turns out he's a child causing mischief and spreading falsehood about Akwa Ibom. Ebi2233, you would get what you seek soon enough. An example must be made of you. Let's see how well you can hide. I have forwarded this to the appropriate quarters. ![]() |
pinkPUSSY:Hello. Can you please list some of his monikers? That's Ebi2233's other monikers. |
Ebi2233:Don't worry. You want to cause division in Akwa Ibom, right? You want to cause ethnic tension? The state government has responded last night. I informed those in the corridors of power before that. I've seen your threads. You are a Bayelsa Ijaw focused on causing rift in Akwa Ibom. We'd get you soon. Quote this post as evidence. We'd get to you soon and it would be legally. The Ibibio Union would make a press statement soon. You'd realize Akwa Ibom are no people to troll with. This I promise you on everything sacred. |
DissTroy:--- As an addition, I just dug up the OP's comments from almost a year ago; Ebi2233:He's an Ijaw from Bayelsa which shares no boundary with Akwa Ibom, and his other posts suggests he doesn't live in Akwa Ibom. His threads on Nairaland suggests he goes about appropriating parts of other states to Ijaws illusionary. Just putting it out there before anyone runs with a false narrative. Seun and Mynd44, you pushed unverified information to Nairaland frontpage. You let a known troll use your frontpage for baseless propaganda. Do you need the Akwa Ibom State Government or Ibibio Union official reply before you take this down? Or until Nairaland is sued? |
iamoyindamola:As an addition, I just dug up the OP's comments from almost a year ago; Ebi2233:He's an Ijaw from Bayelsa which shares no boundary with Akwa Ibom, and his other posts suggest he doesn't live in Akwa Ibom. Seun and Mynd44, do you both verify information before putting it out there? This information is false. There are no Ijaw LGAs in Akwa Ibom to begin with. Only 2 with Ijaw history - Ibeno and Eastern Obolo who have al but wiped it. |
iamoyindamola:LOL. The OP is a clown. I lost interest in reading after the second paragraph where listed 7 Ijaw LGAs in Akwa Ibom. There's no Ijaw LGA in Akwa Ibom. Akwa Ibom has 31 LGAs and only 2 (Ibeno and Eastern Obolo) were Ijaw fishermen who settled and have mixed with the Ibibio population. Ibime and I had the discussion on this thread in December where I explained in detail with links too. Here's the true situation of things: All 12 major oil-producibg LGAs (including mine) of Akwa Ibom State have been protesting non-implementation of oil and gas producing act of the PIB which ensured special provisions for these areas, including payments and special projects. And are seeking a special development commission. The protests started since on Friday. No casualty. And the distance from Uyo to the scene of the protests is more like Ikorodu or Ikeja to Mowe. Ikoyi to Iloye. Far removed and all. Uyo is the center of the state. |
sageb:She murdered Bez's "Supersun Remix" in 2011 which also featured Ice Prince and El Dee. She was ice-cold in Banky W's "Lagos Party Remix" in late 2010 or early 2011. Held her own well against Naeto C and El Dee on it. Those were her best works yet. |
joseph1832:Valid point. Though some of those incidents happened when I was working full-time for organisations. Trolls would always be trolls regardless. If you are very opinionated on topical issues on Twitter/X, you're a target of vicious attacks too and vile unfounded smear campaigns. If you doubt me, begin stirring Feminist Coalition's hornet nest, for example, if you won't get a rápe allegation soon enough from an account with 19 followers which would jump to 10,000 within 24 hours of accusing you. Same on Facebook. Trolls would get you anywhere, and you are more likely a target if you are visibility and strongly opinionated, whether on Nairaland, Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. |
