BlueRayDick:He's an idiot obviously. I've noticed that's his stock-in-trade on this board - tagging people so they clash for flimsy entertainment. Just like he tags me regularly when the Shalli-whatever-listening nitwit makes his usual feminine snide 'kikiki' remarks. --- Oh! For avoidance of doubt, I stand by everything I stated about Unoma Akpabio, Godswill Akpabio's wife. I posted evidence of her atrocities and she'd forever be in our blackbook for the antics she tried to pull as First Lady of Akwa Ibom. She's more subtle than Betty Akeredolu but she's just as nepotistically tribalistic, but we have woken up to her. |
Joseph1832: Man, remember our exchanges days ago about Unoma Akpabio and all I stated about such people? Read the OP and the comments on this thread. It is what it is. |
OasisX:This is what I posted in a certain think-tank WhatsApp group on January 30 when we did an appraisal of Tinubu's appointees. My exact words in bold: "About President Tinubu's economic team: The only member of that team who, in my opinion, has a clear-cut developmental agenda is Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy. He's done/doing three things which I find unique about a Nigerian federal minister: 1. He posted a 32-page policy document in October 2023 on Twitter as a clear and detailed roadmap on what his ministry intends to achieve so we can track its/his benchmarks; 2. He's gone beyond the talking points to begin implementing these, and; 3. He gives timely updates himself too. It leaves no room for misinformation as all I, for example, need to do verify a piece of news is go through his timeline, or ask him. Interestingly, he'd respond. He's been doing this since he assumed office - responding to everyday persons about the activities and scope of the ministry he heads. Maybe if other members of the President's economic team emulate this approach, the disconnect between what the government's plans are and what the everyday person thinks they are would be bridged. Maybe. But it's a first step." Bosun Tijani is still the only one who knows what he's doing and is coming off as so. He's still the only Minister who I think is worth discussing and commending. |
joseph1832:No, A.I. cannot build you a website. It's like a tool, a car or something. You can use it to genérate códes - Ã.Ï. like ChâtGPT - but you need intermediate or advanced knowledge of progrãmming - the programming languages themselves - to actually build the websites. And this in turn requires you to be very good at prômpt enginéering to even know the right questions to ask of the genérative Á.Î. Even seemingly drag-and-drop no-cøde ÇMS like WébFlow requires you to have in-depth knowledge of design principles like UI/UX, color schemes, e.t.c. to design websites which look good and are functional. Ã.Ï can't do these things. Not yet, at least. Learning prómpt engînééring using Á.Ï like ÇhàtGPT would make a prógrammer or web dévélopér côde faster, but it won't replacé the wéb dévéloper. Any newbie or novice who disputes the two points above can try making a wébsite (even a static one) with Á.Î. It'd be interesting to watch them try. |
Aturitoroman:Huh?! I gave someone a quote on Sunday night when it was #1650, pegging at #1750 to hedge against inflation. Now it's #1800 in less than 48 hours? The person and I are going back-and-forth arguing on WhatsApp as he wants to pay the #1750 quote while I want to adjust for the Forex change. This country is already in flames. |
ibibiogrl:Wrong! Efik people are a subset of the Uruan people who are in turn a subethnicty of Ibibio. Efik or Efuk isn't even their original name. How dare you twist their history? Do you know the Efiks and Uruans speak the same variant of Ibibio, and the Efiks still go to Uruan to pay homage, including the Obong of Calabar? The Oro (not Oron - Oron is a subset (1 LGA) of the Oro people (5 LGAs) ) - and the Efiks and the Uruans are related. That's why Efik culture is an exact replica of Uruan culture, including cuisines, marital rites, Ekpe cult, e.t.c. The Ibibio comprise of Northern Ibibio (Annangs), Southern and others which includes the Uruans, what is today known as the Efik, the Oros, the Ekids, the Ikot Abasis, the Iman clans which spread to become Etinan, Ubium and the likes. Annangs, Oros, Uruans, Efuks, and Ekids are subethnicities of Ibibio. Only the Ibenos and Eastern Obolos are different - they are historically migrant Ijaw fishermen who morphed with the Ibibios. Go read about the Ibibio - Arochukwu war at Ibom. Parts of us migrated into Cameroon, not the other way round. ----- I don't know you but I can give you my full names. I and my team have been building the biggest digital repository of Akwa Ibom history, culture, people, and more. I've been in touch with professors of history from Akwa Ibom, been given access to these books, and still consult with them. The first of its kind in Akwa Ibom. I did something similar for my LGA in October, 2020, and it involved a deep dive into Ibibio culture with partnerships from some Akwa Ibom historians. The first of its kind. This Saturday, there's one of such meeting with these historians and even a book review by one (in the corridors of power). I hope I'd be back in time for it physically since I am part of the organizers. I'm careful not to reveal too much on Nairaland. Nigeria is unsafe else I'd have mentioned specific names and venue. Don't insult me with such hogwash and countering with lies. I don't just post - I live up to what I post. You better be a proper Ibibio girl and learn our history, culture, and more properly; and be involved in projects to promote it. Like I stated, if you will do same, I'd give my full names so you cross-check. Then I'd mention high-ranking popular Akwa Ibom historians and some in the corridors of power you can confirm my name from. |
Emaprince:There are two types of mechanics: Mechanics: The regular ones. Then your friends who are auto engineers. Just like tailors and fashion designers. Hairdressers and beauty stylists. |

Funny thing is, the guy who stated this during the elections fled Nigeria months after this while those who joined him to troll those of us who asked that people vote their conscience are suffering the consequences. Season's greetings! Joezinho: |
God knows I'd be wary of going into any newly-constructed building now, except it's government-owned. In the next 6 months, building collapse might become as commonplace as herdsmen attacks are now. |
DissTroy:Sageb, to add to it, I just dug up a blog post which brushed on the Maitama, Uyo debacle from 2014 (although it didn't accuse her of anything specific but we knew the inside story): https://theinknewspaper..com/2014/05/life-in-maitama-after-unoma-akpabios.html?m=1 I mentally archive these instances and lexically document them for posterity sake. We know who she is. It didn't start today. |
Incognito9:Ah... Mix up. Adeboye is the one who drives cars with no fuel. Spiritual Telsa. |
CallTheCops:You are dense. Pre-Pep, Barça never really dominated football except our spells of dominating success in the 70's and 90's. Even our 2006 UCL triumph wasn't so dominating. Pep was the pinnacle of Barça's success. And the Pep era now being enjoyed by Man. City and what it'd seem like post-Pep as exemplified by Barça's current debacle is what is being debated. But Seûn has no aptitude test for registering on Nairaland so it's a free-for-all for people like you with single-digit I.Qs for whom deductive logical reasoning is too much of a mental task. |
sageb:No, I've never paid for sex in my life and never will. When Unoma Akpabio through her foundation as First Lady was relocating prostitutes from Maitama - prostitutes who are chiefly Igbo (ask anyone to confirm) - around 2012/2013, she paid them between #50,000 to #100,000 as support money so they vacate the area, while she chased the few other prostitutes of other tribes away without the same financial support to go earn a decent living. Again, ask anyone who knows. |
CrystalTiger:No worries. We would attend RCCG where G.O. Adeboye enters a toilet and teleports to another place. Somebody shout "Hallaylooyahhh..." |
OasisX:This is good. I hope he hands it over to a private firm to manage it for sustainability else his sycophants would rob that place empty and kill whatever good intentions fueled him to build it. Nice. |
andrewbaba44:Same thing would happen to Man. City after Pep leaves. The spoilt fans would demand the new coach dominates teams, win back-to-back EPLs and FA Cups, and thrash teams in the UCL every season without fail. And it must be beautiful football. We have been alpha-widowed by Pep. No new lover would ever be good enough. We've seen the best so better and good seem like failure in comparison. |
Bimmarlykay:But we have no guarantee Hansi is going to be our coach. And Xavi isn't as terrible as we make him out to given the performances of most coaches of top 6 teams in the top 5 leagues. We still have Pep-philia. Every coach we have would never be good enough for us. Same way we took a dump on Enrique who won us a Treble because he wasn't dominating like Pep was. Winning the League isn't a enough for Culers. We want every trophy. We want to dominate. The Guardiola era is gone. Let's wake up to it. |
andrewbaba44:Are you sure about this? Where's the stat? I'd surprised Darwin Nunez doesn't rank higher on this list. |
Ngozi123:No, it's tribalism when the only relatives you help are from your tribe. I repeat, Igbo first ladies are very notorious for this and it fuels some of the sentiments against Igbos in many places. I haven't even described one-twentieth of how nepotistic Nneoma Akpabio was a First Lady. Thank goodness my people woke up to tame her. Same way Betty Akeredolu has killed the chances of any Ondo Governorship candidate with an Igbo wife. No matter how nepotistic and domineering any of the presidential first ladies we've ever had were/are, I can guarantee you, if those first ladies were Igbo women, they'd do worse. I state this knowing someone would quote this in the future on a thread I frequent here and I stand by it, including on any platform. |
Abagworo:Dude, shush it! I'm Ibibio. Unoma Akpabio, like most Igbo first ladies, is notorious for that. It almost cost her husband a second term as Governor when Akwa Ibom people revolted against her. She toned down in 2015 but has begun again. We'd never forget how she tried to flood Akwa Ibom State Civil Service with Igbos and the prejudice she displayed at Maitama, Uyo. No Igbo state would tolerate it. Her antics has put a question mark on the ambition of politicians with Igbo wives in the state. Ask anyone versed in Akwa Ibom politics to confirm this. |
sageb:Not exactly. But the OP is right about Igbo wives being nepotistic and giving jobs to their Igbo relatives alone. Nneoma Akpabio as Governor's wife was notorious for scheming Igbo people into Akwa Ibom State civil service until we fought back and kicked them all out. ALL OUT. It was so bad Igbos began boasting they control Akwa Ibom. It's one of the reasons any person contesting as Governor or Senator in Akwa Ibom with an Igbo wife has another hurdle. It worked against Nsima in 2019. Same thing Akeredolu's wife did. Igbo first ladies are notorious for trying to hijack what rightly belongs to indigenes to their Igbo relatives. I trust Da Zion Umoh. Now that he's mentioned it, it would be addressed. Akpabio had to plead when it got to a head as Governor. We'd revisit the issue and address it. If it isn't addressed, Akpabio would pay for it during the elections. But Akpabio has used his power as Senate President to help a lot of Akwa Ibomites though. Many people I know have been appointed into high and federal offices, including a very close associate of mine recently. Many got civil service jobs too. Nneoma Akpabio, like most Igbo first ladies married outside their tribes, tends to overdo it. The Igbos wouldn't have taken it if Obi's wife (an Ibibio) tried that as first lady in Anambra. They scream tribalism but dish it out on a daily. |
Yankee101:Why do you lots like to tribalize everything? You are quick to accuse others of tribalism but you are, by default, the most tribalistic people in Nigeria. Soludo is demolishing and relocating markets in Anambra where all tribes sell in like in Lagos, but no tribe has called it tribalism. I support and voted Obi but when Obidients are sometimes called a mob, it's because of people like you. Get over yourselves! There are 300+ tribes in Nigeria. Don't always make everything about yourselves. You love the victim complex. |
Beautifulday:There are no guarantees with this too, man. In tech - hands-on tech like programming, your portfolio ranks above your CV. Heck! Your CV only boosts your portfolio. It'd get you the interview but there are no guarantees. What the OP is referring to are failproof gig-sourcing or job-sourcing platforms. |
I'm not exactly sold on the state police. In states where there's a lot of scrutiny and are somewhat liberal, the media and civil societies groups would checkmate excesses. But what happens to states with historically autocratic governors where their word is law and opposition hunted to death? State police would be used as a ruse to hound dissenting voices. Except there's a mechanism which lets the central powers checkmate state police. Imagine what a Yahaya Bello would have done with state police... Just imagine. |
liveLongNprospa:I do not vouch for cultists. I despise cûltists. I despise gangs too and kick against all forms. I've already listed the kind of artistes (alternative music) and music I listen to. For Nigerian artistes, if it's not Johnny Drille, Tems, Nonso Amadi, Bez, Asa, and Jeremiah Gyang, I'm mostly indifferent. I only follow and interact one of them on Twitter and topics involving them. My post history on Nairaland and Twitter over the last 8 years proves this. The nitwit wants to drag everyone to his level. He can continue listening to Shalli-whatever with wack lyrics and he himself has declared he's a fraud music adherent aka "Afro-Yahoo" right on this thread. Don't tag me to crime-enablers, please. I've forsaken too much to stay on the right side of the law to be lumped with that brainless shrimp who never contributes or starts intelligent discussions on this board other than subliminal insulting references like a brothel whøre. And you can bet he is waiting on the side to continue subliminals, true to type. |
ouzo1:How? Only a novice wouldn't know the long game of Eedris. He's deliberately playing into the good books of Davido who has a reputation of being a cheerful giver to get back into the spotlight and hangout with A-listers. Exactly how Tunde Ednut climbed back. Burna Boy doesn't just throw money around so Eedris knows praising Burna would amount to nothing financially. Same Eedris who viciously attacked Timaya out of nowhere because he felt entitled to the later's success, then went on to launch attacks on a few associate artistes he felt entitled to, only to seek public support for his ailment soon enough? Eedris, like most people, is a desperate social climber; and anyone who reads people well knows the endgame of these seemingly random outbursts. |
Ogiame:Iya... Afo ado akop usem? Nki diongho ke. |
Katcall:Akwa Ibom State is chiefly Ibibio tribe. The Annangs, Oros, Ekids, and Uruans are all Ibibio subethnicities. The Efiks of Cross River State who own Calabar and some parts of Cross River are an Ibibio subethnicity. of the Uruan who are an Ibibio subset. So, yes, in many ways. |
