No matter how rich or accomplished, the average young woman never passes up any opportunity to sexualize herself. They can't help themselves. Even random poses for photos are sexualized if you look closely by the way she positions her behind, boobs, or pouts. |
iamoyindamola:There are many on Facebook and even on Nairaland. All she has to do is put on wigs, do makeover, wear revealing clothes, post Photoshop pictures, then posture like a big girl by posting pictures of herself in exquisite places. Places she didn't pay to go to. And she goes on multiple dates with men so she can snap pictures of herself and of food as content for her Instagram, Tik Tok, and Facebook to lure the biggest 'fish' she can. Why do you think most of them choose the venues of the dates? If she can control the optics, men would salivate and throng after her even as ugly and broke as she is in person. You really should understand how young women operate these days. |
OasisX:You criticised Buhari in 2018 due to the hardship then went on to support him for the 2019 election and throughout his 2019 - 2023 tenure.. . I should know this since we had a similar point pop up last year and I dug up posts of yours to corroborate my stance. Heck! You were defending Buhari right up to the cash crunch period then switched when you thought it was to work against BAT. Right on this thread. |
OasisX:Are you sure you want to do this? Are you really sure? |
nkemdi89:Not really. He got millions and cars from Akpabio as Governor, and the next thing he had relocated to the U.S. instead of building on the success of his hit song, album and cross-regional acceptability. There were a number of then up-and-coming Akwa Ibom artistes in 2011 - 2012 he could have taken under his wings, including MC Galaxy, but he relocated abroad and was forgotten. By the time he tried making a comeback, everyone had moved on. And he had no hit to match the "Akwa Ibom Ayaya" success. Same thing happened to Bigiano of the 2008 "Shayo" fame and Sean Tizzle of the 2013 "Sho le" fame. Iyanya who released "Kukere" same time as Mish's "Akwa Ibom Ayaya" in 2011 from the same Akwa-Cross region stayed back and was a household name and mega star till 2016. He's made a comeback now. |
Ellexy:The off-Nairaland virtual social circle of this page is smaller than we think. From screenshots over the years and months, it seems most of us interact with intersecting Nigerian social commentary pages. Iyen Na Nice, Ade Damola, Kelechi Deca, Adeoti, "Olubadan-in-Waiting", Mazi Abe... Interesting. |
sageb:BudgIT does this already. I subscribed for notifications about Akwa Ibom State and my LGA allocations since 2018 so get monthly notifications. FAAC allocation. ECAs. Capital projects budgeted for at state, federal constituency, and LGA levels too, and updates about project implementation. I follow all these closely so know them by heart and it's why I reel out these precise figures. |
Today, hundreds of millions of men (single ones especially) would expend gazillions purchasing gifts for women who would at most offer them sex which is mutually pleasurable in return as gifts, and the foolish men would think the reward is enough. If you are sure she won't get you gifts, don't get her gifts. And if she can't afford any tangible gifts, you are a fôôl for being with a brôke woman. Some would even send monetary gifts to women far away who would be sleeping with other men today. Spoil only the woman who makes an effort to spoil you at intervals. But beta males wouldn't heed this advice. |
DSS quizzes KADUNA Islamic Cleric for criticising hardship under Tinubu. Order for arrest came from Abuja. https://www.nairaland.com/7999098/dss-quizzes-sheikh-auwal-shariff |
BlueRayDick:The interesting thing is, the protests are starting and spreading in de facto APC strongholds. The chicken would come home to roost. In fact, the chicken is home already. |
Don't blame Buhari. Don't blame Tinubu. Pray for the President, but same you stated the below: monerozi5590: |
ToyinDipo:Instincts and intuition are two different things. The first is pre-coded into (sentient) beings and reactions based off some knowledge like patterns gleaned over like you've explained;while the second, intuition, is based on nothing but raw gut feeling. The validity of that gut feeling we call intuition is what is being debated. But there's no scientific explanation for it. |
chopnaira:Iwobi was shit for most of the tournament. Fans complained, TV pundits did too, but the coach kept playing him. We lost the midfield game yesterday so the attack couldn't master any counter as nobody fed them. Osimhen had zero shot on target. |
Bombblacks:Actually, they do. Gut feeling is having the urge or push to do something or some insight into a situation with no fore knowledge of it. After all, most things we do as humans are based on the knowledge we have. And if you have NO pre-knowledge of it yet so certain about the outcome due to some inner conviction, it's gut feeling. |
Bombblacks:Fear? Gut feeling embodies instincts and intuition, and more. Like encountering a tech problem you've never had before and without checking a tutorial, you fix it. Didn't learn it, never seen anything similar, but you know how to fix it instinctively. Or like trying to prepare a certain novel native meal. The recipé is hazy, you've never done it before, but somehow you're led on to do it this way and simmer it that way, and it turns out to be a great meal. Tell me how fear applies to both gut feeling scenarios. |
Realmrsean:Maybe; then again, maybe not. Even evolutionists do not agree the evolution theory is absolute - they still debate it. But scientists have made one submission which we all agree with - we only understand a fraction of how the brain (mind) works. We don't even know it's full capabilities. It's like generative AI - cooking up a gazillion possibilities. It also has proven telepathic abilities where you look at a person and you communicate with eyes alone. Who says it doesn't have other abilities? The abilities emcompassed in what we call "gut feeling"? Until we understand how it works and have a full explanation for it, dismissing it is playing ostrich. |
sageb:You know the story. Bishop Akan Weeks. So many promising young men and women died that day with no closure for their families till date. |
Realmrsean:That's the whole point. There's no scientific explanation for that gut feeling. It's even more puzzling when there's no precedence of such occurring to you yet you have feel a strong urge to do otherwise. Just like that sudden urge to take a detour off a route you've driven for years without fail. You ask yourself why, but no explanation, yet you still feel that voice say, "No, go that way". You can't explain it, I can't, science can't. I'm barely even religious so it can't be attributed to being churchy or other such attributions to the divine. But we still can't explain what drives gut feeling. |
liveLongNprospa:December 10, 2016. The bishop of a big church was being ordained. I had accepted an invite to be there so had rushed back into the city. A Saturday it was. The Governor was billed to be there. I was all set to go but at the dying minute, changed my mind to watch EPL games. Funny thing is, the games do not start till midday and Barça had a game for that evening so I would have been done with the church attendance before then. There was no logical reason not to attend but I just had this gut feeling not to. Even ignored the reminders by the person who invited me. Decided to go visit friends instead, and as we were bantering and trolling each other's teams, news filtered in of the church collapse by late noon. Several people died, including the person who invited me. At the spot. I'd have been seated beside the person certainly. Joe and Lezz kept trying to reach me, and the later did late at night to confirm my safety since I had mentioned to them in passing when we chatted I'd be attending. Gut feeling is something we can't explain. But it's potent. Very potent. |
BlueRayDick:Three human phenomena even the most ardent atheist has explanation for: - Instincts - Intuition - Clairvoyance There's no absolute explanation for these phenomena. Sometimes you just have that gut feeling there's no logical explanation for, and if you ignore it, you'd rue your mistake for life if you are lucky to survive it. |
Odunayaw:You can't even read or comprehend to begin with. If you could, you'd be able to critique intelligently instead of having blind faith. Everyone kept complaining about the midfield. Everyone but you and your faux -patriotic cohorts who questioned the nationality of any of us who dared asked questions. But you have less than the intelligence of a cuttlefish. A rodent would have realized the obvious faster than you. |
Odunayaw:You fickleminded nîtwit. You think I give a tuppence about you wishy nûmbskulls? You wishy-washy simpleminded thing who thinks everyone who points out the flaw in a system is háteful. Our midfield was as good as dead. Our players were bragging about winning all over social media. We the pragmatic ones warned about being complacent. You the happy-go-lucky ones countered us for pointing out the obvious. Exactly what we pointed out happened - complacency. It's the same way you have blind faith in public officials and call out those who demand better as a hatérs of Nigeria, even when the system has to be rejigged. You deserve a high-five. In the face. With a plank. |
If you are a Messi fan like me, after the devastating heartbreak of the 2014 World Cup final, no football result can shock you just as much. Almost a decade of being hardened. Some sort of vaccine to the aftershock of football loss. A thousand AFCON final losses just feels like one of those things. |
LordTheus:Ghana is going to get revenge on us. I warned! Faith alone gives you nothing. Nothing! Faith without work is dead. Our midfield was dead. It's the same way we keep hoping Nigeria would get better when the system continues to reward Iwobi-esque public office holders and excuses away their many shortcomings. |
DissTroy: DissTroy: DissTroy:Still think I am a pessimist? A pragmatic realist more like. ![]() |
Mujtahida:Typical overly-religious Nigerian - wishing against wish that everything gets better when no plans have been made to make it better. We are being outplayed. Our midfield is absent. But, hey, your wish would wash all of that away. |
Everyone who complained about Iwobi on this thread has been proven right, again. Today especially. |
I warned about being complacent and players already preparing post-match celebrations. Mujtahida: |
DissTroy:I repeat, Ekong means war!!!!!!!!!!! |
liveLongNprospa:Have you admitted you have been comparing a Lieutenant to THE General? |
Google-search "Greatest La Liga midfielders of all time". Kroos is never mentioned. Xavi is always in top 2 on any list. Modric sometimes even gets mentioned in the top 15, but never Kroos. Not even once. https://www.sportskeeda.com/football/10-best-midfielders-in-la-liga-history https://m.allfootballapp.com/news/epl/5-Greatest-Midfielders-in-La-Liga-History/2792034 Do show any list where Kroos is mentioned and more particularly, any top 5 or top 10 list of greatest midfielders where Kroos is mentioned. Even one. In contrast, all the lists always have Xavi on them. |
Just about every radio station and hospitality outfit has been playing Tyla's "Water" since beating South Africa, and even more so today, the AFCON final. Everyone. If you tune in or linger for a few minutes, her song would come on. Nigerians are petty. ![]() |
