ON PTDF OVERSEAS SCHOLARSHIP EXAM

FOR MSC

PTDF question is objective computer based divided into two parts:

Part 1 is compulsory for all candidates and usually consists of general knowledge and current affairs. However, last year, basic English questions were asked. Practise for all, you can’t take chances. Part 2 [/b]contains questions on the segment you apply for. This contain bulk of the marks. Note that there could be negative marking too. Read the instructions very well.

Still remember the good old days when men were boys.

The exam was Paper-esque SHL Verbal and Numerical reasoning questions. We were also given transport fare depending on proximity of your home address. The more distant get larger tfare and vice versa.

The format could have changed now though.

You have answered the question yourself. It is a non-committal scholarship and they are not obliged to employ.

Please which branch of China University of Petroleum. Is it the one in Beinjing or Qingdao?

Are courses done in English as stated in the website as I hear there are some absurdities in some university.

Will appreciate if you can clarify this urgently.

The problem with us in Nigeria is that we hate the truth coupled with the fact that we are envious.. The OP stated his claims with fact but we rather remain in the dark.

The people bashing OP if they have the means tomorrow won't even send there kids to the public universities they themselves went to. it's a known truth that the educational system in Nigeria is screwed.

The public universities are only living in there past glory. They can't be compared to CU presently. Go to our public universities and then you will see why the elites either send the kids abroad or to CU.

You know the truth.

I concur CU graduates are doing very well. Apart from the education, they also teach them valuable life skills, such as communication and persuasive skills. That is y most are being employed today. Those guys pass aptitude tests anyhow because they teach them onset in their curriculum. They have the highest success rate.

Unlike the federal counterpart where u will see a first class graduate who cannot communicate in simple English. Who will employ him or her? Truth is the government need to enforce and finance our public education system. The indiscipline and awkwardness cannot be overemphasized.

I have been disturbed about the prospect of getting a postgraduate scholarship for my masters. However, it seems most scholarships are for abroad studies. Does it mean that there are no scholarships if one wants to do his masters in Nigeria?

I really want to do my masters this session and the forms would soon be closed in my chosen institution. I do not have sufficient funds and would appreciate if there's any information about postgraduate scholarship for Nigerian Universities.

Ps: I am graduate of French Language(Cgpa 4.42), I want to pursue a masters in Translation.

I can only give u info for overseas full scholarship. I don't think Nigeria universities give scholarship. Fortunately, your CGPA is strong enough.

However, Federal Government of Nigeria sponsor postgraduate students in Nigeria with their local scholarship.

I have finished the Manhattan quant,but I Skipped the drills.I have as well completed 5decks in the Magoosh app.I haven't touched Awa at all.and as well I Havent read the verbal section. I have the magoosh videos and Princeton cracking the GRE. My IQ is average. I wont be doing anything for the three weeks,but just reading, am planning to start doing 6hours reading daily,and if I can even read more than that I will. But I just need to know if the target is reasonable. I plan to finish the pricton cracking GRe, do Just 9decks more, watch some magoosh videos(The one I have) like 10,(though I don't understand how I can gain from watching the magoosh videos,but since it seems like everyone here does watch it and say they gain, I plan to watch it as well.

Note that last year format was different. 40 questions English in Part A as opposed to current affairs/General paper. Then 60 questions focused on your segment. All questions are objective computer based.

Read instructions carefully before you start. There could be negative marking.

The application closed Dec 31st at 11:59pm. U cant even login in the portal from 12:00am at Jan 1st. Sorry to those missed out.

Application Process

Submit application for admission to the any of the prospective universities for any of the qualifying courses
Application forms for the scholarship will ONLY be available through the websites of the participating universities following an offer of admission by the university
Universities will process applications and select candidates to attend interviews before being considered for final selection
Completed scholarship application forms must reach participating universities not later than 30th January 2017.
The scholarship will cover tuition fees, one economy return flight ticket from Nigeria to the UK and a contribution towards living expenses only*.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must:
Display sound intellectual ability and leadership potentials
Meet the individual universities’ English Language requirements (usually at least 6.5 in IELTS score valid for Sept. 2017 admission). Please note that TOEFL is no longer recognised by most UK universities. Candidates are advised that failure to meet each university’s English Language requirement at the time of selection may invalidate their application.
Be aged between 21-28 years by 30/09/2017
Be an indigene of Rivers, Delta, Imo or Bayelsa states (documentary proof of this will be required and will be verified)
Currently reside in Nigeria
Return to Nigeria on completion of the proposed programme of study
Have obtained a university degree (at least of equivalent standard to a UK Second Class Upper (Honours degree)
Not have studied previously in the UK or any other developed country
Have a Nigerian international passport valid to end December 2018
Be neither a current nor former employee (who has left employment less than 5 years before) of SPDC or the Royal Dutch Shell Group of Companies
Not be a spouse, child or ward of staff of Shell Companies in Nigeria

Please my issue is I've got an offer from the university of Manchester already but the course of study is not listed on the ptdf list of approved courses. Mine is Petroleum Geosciences for reservoir development while ptdf listed Pet Geo alone. Can I go ahead and use the one I have or do I need to process a corresponding course as listed on ptdf's site. Thank you.
