Business › Re: Banks Lead Nigerian Stocks to World’s Second-Best Gains in 2024 by DMerciful(m): 6:39pm On Jan 12, 2024
Focusing on things that has little impact to the vast majority of Nigerians.

Tinubu aka Lamidi Amoda Sangodele aka certificate forger, mandate thief and narcotics trafficker is a confirmed failure
LegendHero:
Nigerian equities are beating all peers in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region in 2024 as pension funds and institutional investors pile into stocks on expectations of record profits from lenders booking revaluation gains on their foreign-exchange positions.

The 151-member NGX All-Share Index is up 11% this year in local currency, trailing only Argentina globally. The NGX has advanced almost 60% in the past year. That compares with a less than 2% advance for the MSCI Emerging Markets EMEA Index over the same period.

Banking stocks have driven gains, with the banking index up 16% this year and nearly 140% over the past 12 months. The holding company that owns Access Bank PLC is up 21% so far in 2024, while Zenith Bank PLC is up 12% and Guaranty Trust Holding Co. is up 14%. The banking index trades at a price-to-estimated earnings ratio of 2.24 times.

Politics › Re: President Tinubu, 1 Pound To N1,600 Is Simply Unacceptable, Horrendous by DMerciful(m): 6:35pm On Jan 12, 2024
.Na statistics we go chop? You can't give what you don't have
bennybuhari:
President Bola Tinubu should please take urgent action to address the free fall of the naira. 1 pound to N1,600 is just ridiculous.
Politics › Re: Wole Olanipekun Secures Victory Again, Is He Nigeria's Lawyer Of The Decade? by DMerciful(m): 6:29pm On Jan 12, 2024
Based on the assurance of Bubu, Mahmmud(BVAS and IREV) of credible elections, the political parties trusted the process but they shutdown IREV and changed the results overnight. They also compromised the judiciary through Ariwoola and the rest is history. Tinubu did not win but Obi had more votes than Tinubu but results were swapped
Esinwaju:
And You don't know politics is intellectual? Lack of intellect made the opposition not to form a merger thinking they could defeat a united ruling party while divided. Now they are talking about joining forces. Late comers.
Politics › Re: Wole Olanipekun Secures Victory Again, Is He Nigeria's Lawyer Of The Decade? by DMerciful(m): 6:26pm On Jan 12, 2024
100%. Tinubu controls the Supreme Court through Ariwoola
Esinwaju:
But Abba Yusuf visited "Amoda" too. Are you saying he was also there to lobby?
Politics › Re: Wole Olanipekun Secures Victory Again, Is He Nigeria's Lawyer Of The Decade? by DMerciful(m): 6:25pm On Jan 12, 2024
They must eat and we're traders so before we will feel the effect of bad governance, know your people must have been in severe distress
Esinwaju:
The same hungry people are still patronising your businesses as I speak. Na thief dem dey thief the money? Are you doing give away with your goods? Or don't you know supply is useless without demand? Funny people.
Politics › Re: Wole Olanipekun Secures Victory Again, Is He Nigeria's Lawyer Of The Decade? by DMerciful(m): 5:32pm On Jan 12, 2024
Who was saying they are hungry? Not Lagosians?

You think you're doing us?
gaskiyamagana:
Kudos to him, Lamidi Amoda Sangodele, the king of kings of Nnyamirin and the PDP UNDERTAKER.
Politics › Re: Judiciary Could Have Set The Country On Fire, Reactions ToS’court Ruling On Kano by DMerciful(m): 5:30pm On Jan 12, 2024
FG has a limit. Just 2 million people on the streets will overrun the fg. Just 1% of Nigerians on the street of Abuja
TheFacelessMan:
I always laugh when people claim country would be set on fire.

They don't know the FG.

Absolutely nothing would have happened.
Politics › Re: Judiciary Could Have Set The Country On Fire, Reactions ToS’court Ruling On Kano by DMerciful(m): 5:29pm On Jan 12, 2024
Hope was massively rigged in, in collusion with INEC.

The insecurity in SE was intensified by Supreme Court judgement of fraudulently making Uzodinma gov against the people's wishes
LegendHero:
Same Imo state that re-elected Hope or another one?

The insecurity in the Imo is a product of the larger one in the SE and that’s majorly contributed by IPOB and their military wing UGM.

Don’t blame that on Supreme Court judgement.

Them for try am na
LegendHero:
No one can fight the federal government easily.

If they pronounce APC, there will be riot for few day from few people, police/military will come in to quench it and the politicians will start cross carpeting.

Life continues the next week.

Yes! The PDP guy went to pay allegiance to Amoda before the appeal court verdict. Lamidi Amoda Sangodele can negotiate anything for second term whilst failing on first term
Raskimonojendor:
Did he control that of PDP's Enugu too?
Politics › Re: Wole Olanipekun Secures Victory Again, Is He Nigeria's Lawyer Of The Decade? by DMerciful(m): 5:21pm On Jan 12, 2024
Its all political not necessarily intellectual.

Amoda controlled his Supreme Court to avoid crisis because he knows Kano people do not take nonsense. Secondly, the criticisms from Nigerians made Supreme Court behave.

They allow filming of this due to impunity!

They believe the own every institution that can check them upto the judiciary

Politics › Re: Cut All The Expenses Of Every Aspect Of The Government By 60% – Obi Tells FG by DMerciful(m): 3:44pm On Jan 11, 2024
You believe people who dislike Obi like Soludo because he is envious of Obi. Anambra airport was built from the money Obi saved.

Do you know much about governance? How can you spend all your income because you wanna do ALL the roads?
Judolisco:
so u r saying he fixed d entire road in anambra? He invested tax payers money and we know investment is a risk... D investment he made today is next to nothing according to d present governor.... Most of d things obi is saying he didn't do it when he was governor of anambra state... If he did anambra would have been d best state in Nigeria today
Politics › Re: Debt And Waste As Economic Policy – Peter Obi by DMerciful(m): 3:42pm On Jan 11, 2024
No human is perfect but Obi is above board. Deal with it
DeOTR:
I'm not judging Obi or supporting Tinubu. What I'm saying is, none of these people are perfect and I don't see how anyone of them would have anything differently better.
It's OK to criticize but we should not assume we have all the information and accuse others for not acting the way we expected.
I can only agree with Obi on wastage in public service, but not on debt. The country is already in mess and unless you're in the position, you won't know the extent.
Politics › Re: Cut All The Expenses Of Every Aspect Of The Government By 60% – Obi Tells FG by DMerciful(m): 10:53am On Jan 11, 2024
You can't use 100% of your money no matter you need else setting yourself for failure if a rainy day comes. Besides, he did roads and Anambra had one of the best interior road networks during his time
Judolisco:
he saved money dat should have been used to fix roads and build sch, to provide water and build industries.... Yeye
Politics › Re: Debt And Waste As Economic Policy – Peter Obi by DMerciful(m): 10:51am On Jan 11, 2024
One thread on nairaland is your yardstick for measuring s governor that clear records showed he delivered.

I'm tired of this back and forth. Tinubu already stole the mandate and he is there now, why are you focusing on Obi?
DeOTR:
We may never find if he's the best or not.
My point is, he didn't do well in his last stint in Government as evident, even on Nairaland.

Let's just imagine for a second that Obi is the President. What would he have done differently?
1. Maybe he wouldn't have removed subsidy on his first day in office, and put things in order before doing that, but he may never be able to put anything in considering the fact that Nigeria is broke. He would have removed it eventually, if he hopes to achieve anything at all. You don't expect a different outcome in terms of prices of goods and services, do you? You don't know Nigerians if you do.

2. The President can't cut for other arms of government. We need specific laws that'll specify the exact percentage beyond which no public servants can earn above the minimum wage. We don't need a patch-patch approach that would last the maximum of 8 years.
Politics › Re: Betta Edu: Tunji Ojo Should Resign by DMerciful(m): 9:54am On Jan 11, 2024
He invested the money, not because he has shares but for the State to benefit. He left 75 billion and never approved pension or land or houses for himself like other govs did. Obi is as clean as a whistle
GeneralDae:
He admitted it belongs to his family but he resigned. Go watch that interview again.

Watch from 18.00 in this video. He never denied that NEXT still belongs to his family. He only explained that he resigned from the board of directors. If you watch further in that interview, he even openly admitted to putting state money in businesses/banks he has shares in.

You're funny to think that Obiano words is law and true. Obi left 75 billion and there is documented evidence

JASONjnr:
You can't endorse corruption.

Every ministry have it's budgets. And for effective governance and productiveness, the budget must be approved.

Trying to cut such budgets will only have them heads of those agencies to device other means of killing the ministry.

You're s child, go and sleep!

You think there were no party agents when they amended the electoral act to include electronic transmission and spent over 300 billion for that?

If party agents were enough, why did they propose electronic transmission and then went ahead to spend 300 billion?

Yeye dey smell
Appletek:
This is the dumb reasoning expected of someone who is a follower of a failure who used a decade to study philosophy and ended up presenting WAEC GCE for election.

Shebi Obi had party agents in all polling units in Nigeria, how many votes did they tell you Obi had?
You just open your mouth to vomit rubbish. Even Peter Obi didn't say he won, he said the process that produced the winner was flawed. Yet, one boy learning trade in the village is opening mouth to talk trash.

Even your Peter Obi, them no born am well to say he had majority votes. Atiku him husband go slap am.

You don't know anything. Obi won despite being in LP but was rigged out when IREV was shutdown on election evening.

He didn't share money, he rather took it for himself and used it to invest in a failed brewery.

This thread made Nairaland trend on Twitter and sank Obi's aspirations. Make of it what you will.
