Good deal hazelj: Hello all, I am putting up my whole solar power system up for sale. It was setup and installed by Richmon74. The components are as follows: 4 255W Solarworld Mono panels Morningstar MPPT 60Amp Charge controller 2 12v 160aH Fullriver Batteries virtually brand new (installed July 2016) 1 Sukam inverter 24v 1.4Kva It comes with a stainless steel roof mount and battery rack. Cables and connectors are bundled free of charge.
Total cost 470k if bought as a bundle.
This is an excellent deal as this setup will cost almost twice this to implement brand new. Reason for selling is relocation. Was not in the country for 2 months so the batteries have been floating since.
Would prefer to sell this as a unit. |

Great job! Data driven analysis! You did not include the cost of installing the solar water heater. GeorgeD1: efuro, abunafiu, all,
as promised, here is a run down of cost implications of installing a solar water heater compared with the conventional electric water heater. as you will observe, i have made a few assumptions here in arriving at my answers. also, i decided to go with the lowest size capacity of 100l deliberately just to dispel the belief that solar water heating is only for high volume use households or hotels. the result is certainly amazing - even to myself. |

OK...u can break ur machine into 4 or 5 sections and send to 5 different foundary houses abroad that way they can't copy ur stuff. I know there are local foundary houses but I don't know where they are. Use Google. chrissy3: . yes they have all said its impossible to have a spacecraft accelerate in space cause it wont obey newtons third law of action and reaction because space is void but today space voyages carryon with giant strides. Bro you have no idea what my machine is all about and for all you know you adopted that notion from thermodynamics that people told you in a book of which is open to improvement based on new discovery and what you've always known can just change with a stroke of genius from one person and it would make you rearrange your belief. thermodynamics might have to alter some of its standards by making exceptions to some materials existing in nature cause chemistry is too broad to be limited and with the operation from initiation to termination stage you would always have the urge to try new stuffs out to see what happens if you really understand what's going on in the reaction. Science is a field where trial and error moves you closer to something remarkable and I would be glad to fail if it brings about new insight pertaining the materials I'm working with but for all its worth I'll like to see my machine be birthed and tested. So if you don't mind drop a fabrication company you know so I can move on to the next phase of my research.cheers |
Technology Market › Re: Perpetual Motion Machine by DMerciful(m): 10:24am On Nov 02, 2016 |
A perpetual motion machine of the 1st kind is impossible. Your best bet is to design a machine that uses gravity cos its free but it will still take in more energy than it outputs. A machine cannot be 100% efficient. No to burst your bubble but it is what it is! |

Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by DMerciful(m): 11:14am On Nov 01, 2016 |
You cannot be talking generator if you're talking renewable energy . 6 panels is not much or that expensive . foonshur: thanks guys I really appreciate your prompt and honest responses. @ DMerciful 6 panels? damn! I'm not goin to depend solely on the sun to charge my batteries as I have a perkins generator and also still connected to the national grid(although I get like 5hours of supply in 2 days) so the point of having a solar setup is to save on fuel. like I said, jst want to power the basic appliances as the refrigerator and ac will be considered much later. |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by DMerciful(m): 10:12pm On Oct 31, 2016 |
@ codemaster2much, @ monlo, @ mank1234, @ dicksonadams , thanks very much for ur kind words...seeing people go renewable and helping in any way I can gives me joy. @ foonshur In setting up ur system, there are some units that are not modular per se and as such needs proper planning from the onset. You battery bank cannot easily be increased as you become buoyant cos of the limitations of mixing old and new batteries so better to buy like 4batteries of 200AH one time. Also the 60A mppt is OK...as it gives room for future expansion. You can buy fangpunsun flexmax or epsolar itracer...these are not that expensive but quite good. Use at least 8mm cables to run ur panels so you don't have to replace cables when d need to expand arise. For ur 12v,200AH * 2 batteries, their kWh is 4.8kwh(24*200ah) and as such requires a solar arrangement that can deliver 4.8kw per day. A solar setup that can give 4.8kw must in reality be 4.8kw/0.6 =8kw as you can only get 60% due to changing sun angle on d horizon from sunrise to sunset and also as it moves from Capricorn to Cancer(a bit intellectual). So you need about 8000/(200* =5 panels of 200w(8hours of sun projected) but to cater for cloud covers periodically I'll advice 6panels and mind you your batteries will not be drained everyday. Cheers foonshur: hello gurus, I already have a setup which comprises of a 1.5kva inverter and 2 12v, 200amps batteries. I want to add a solar system to it. I got an advice that 2 200w mono panels and a 60amp mppt cc will be enough to charge the system and power 2 led tvs, 2 decoders, 1 sound system, 2 ceiling fans and about 5 nergy saving bulbs, although I dont put on everything at the same time. My 1st question, is this setup ok or does anything need to be upgraded as per the solar installation, and what is the price range of the panels and the charge controller in this "buhari period". Thanks. |

Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by DMerciful(m): 7:12pm On Oct 30, 2016 |
The current drawn depends on the state of charge. If a battery is almost full, the current reduces so when comparing make sure to state the voltage of the batteries. Dreamflyin: Please house, I need help. I'm now as confused as hell. Since my two 40/40amps PWMs were harvesting 22amps at peak from the 2kw PC array, I thought that installing a Mppt will help issues. So off to the electrical mart I went for one. I got offered a Xantrex (Schneider), a ETracer and Itracer (both EP solar).
On installing the ETracer there was no improvement in harvest, rather a decline in harvest. It did 20amps peak. So back I took it to the dealer and got a refund. The Xantrex, based on the poor performance of the EP, I insisted in having it test runned on the 2kw panel setup there. Man! it did 18amps while the PWM that was there harvested 32amps off that same PC array.
Now am confused. I thought Mppt is far better than a PWM? What's wrong? It's a 24v system. |
