Nonsense. angry

My friend was working while on a video call with me for about 2 hours. We were actually catching up while he worked.
At that leisurely pace, he already bagged £250 for just today. Note that this isn't part of his income targets for the week. He was just bored at home amd decided to do some hours. This isn't even his dream hustle.
We even spoke about him changing his two vehicles for newer ones soon.

Nonsense. angry

By the way, £250 is #150,000.

Nonsense. angry
So your friend earned the Nigerian average (middle class) working salary of 2 months just in a couple of hours.

And someone wants to tell us how UK is more expensive than Nigeria.
Politics › Re: Cost Of Living In UK Compared To Nigeria (Photos) by dochenaj: 8:21pm On May 16, 2021
For the comparison to be sensible, logical and objective, you will have to evaluate what percentage of your earnings goes to rent, groceries, transport, bills, etc.

We can compare that with the same job in other countries, and then we can categorically say that country A is more expensive than country B.

And the evaluation needs to be about everything before you can make deductions like "Country A is more expensive than Country B", for instance a place could have more expensive rent but have cheaper transport and foods. So a holistic analysis is needed.

Is that an excuse for his own failure?

The governors don't control the army or police, and the list is endless.

The truth is that governors don't really have any power in Nigeria because we don't practice true federalism like the US does.

Even the states can't make laws that would be enforced by the federal police.

When it is sexual issues, the man never wins.
Even if he is proven to be innocent, like we've seen in America, he comes out totally destroyed.

The best option is to STAY off minors. Run from them like a plague.
The man definitely is a predator and we both know he must have had the intent, given that the girl is a stranger and there was virtually no reason for him to be in contact with her.

And rightly his life is ruined, and so are his relationships.

But I doubted if he could be prosecuted and serve jail time as his intentions may not be easy to prove unless he stated them in the chats.

She's regarded as a minor.
In the UK even if your "how are you" from an adult to a minor is viewed as sexually suggestive, the adult is GONE.
I guess the burden of proof lies in showing how "how are you" is sexually suggestive. It's a steep curve though.

The guy is screwed. Big time. Sex allegation?
1. If he is on a residency visa of any sort, that is the end. After his jail time, he is getting deported.
2. He is getting sacked immediately.
3. He will be put on a sex offenders list and that means no proper job for life. Heck, you will be avoided more than a COVID-19 patient.
4. His wife might divorce him.
5. He is GONE and DONE.

I have always said that while many Nigerians want to go "abroad", the "abroad" life is not for most Nigerians. Because if you carry your nonsense lawlessness behaviour from Nigeria to a civilised Western nation that hasnt been consumed by the BLM wokeism, you will be screwed for life.
What exactly will he be charged on?

I couldn't see the content of the chats. Was he soliciting for sex or pornographic content?
Crime › Re: Married Nigerian Man Caught Wooing A 15-Year-Old Girl In London (Video) by dochenaj: 5:48pm On May 15, 2021
So the guy has been toasting a school girl and yet claims to be oblivious of her age.

I couldn't help but imagine how Jesus must have felt when he heard the man scream his name.

The girls father kept going close and kept saying "don't come near me" WTF.

Jeff, would probably lose his job and his family, but I don't think he will serve any jail time. Except there is a place on the chats where he is soliciting for sex or pornographic content.

His reaction as much as it was hilarious to watch a sexual predator be caught, I couldn't help but think, what a traumatizing encounter it must have been for him.

We need to have more of these videos maybe it will help stave the rabid nature of these pedophiles.

Very correct,Apc successfuly used buhari and won the 2015 election because the old man already has 11milion dedicated and brainwashed zombies who were ready to die for him since 2003, these zombies have been consistent even in defeat until tinubu and co took advantage of them and merge with cpc and won that election with ofcourse a gentleman aggrement that tinubu will take over from buhari, but that i think will be a very difficult tax.as the budillion chief has nothing going for him through a credible election,he stands no chance befor the likes of atiku, osinbajo and obi. No matter how astute he in politics or his network from lagos to kano, even all his boys in s/w troop out with their families on election day he cannot win, 2023 is not for him.he should just relax and remain a king maker
Unfortunately elections are not won by votes but who can rig better.

If you think Buhari won 2015 election by votes, think again. Jonathan could not out-rig him. All the rigging in the SE and SS by PDP was countered by the rigging in the North because the Northern PDP sabotaged Jonathan's rigging machineries.
Politics › Re: Saheed Akinade-Fijabi: Third Party May Emerge If Tinubu Is Denied APC Ticket by dochenaj: 5:16pm On May 15, 2021
I don't understand why it is hard for them to give Osibanjo the ticket.

This ambition to be president has nothing to do with patriotism and a willingness to serve the people. Atiku and Tinubu should go and rest.

It will be better for Tinubu to play the role of kingmaker and maintain his respect.
Travel › Re: My 30 Days Sojourn Through Cotonou To Dubai by dochenaj:
teelaw4life:
You clearly don't know how Dubai visa processing works. To get a Visa into Dubai, you need a sponsor i.e. someone who is a valid resident in the country (this is mostly companies or locals). This is where agents come in. They interface between you, the "local" who's ready to stand as sponsor and the visa procurement process. In the case of Dubai, agents are actually very necessary...unless you have a direct family member here already that can stand as your sponsor.
A sponsor is not always needed. It is a tourist visa not a work visa after all.

I took the liberty of doing some research on Dubai Tourist visas and I was right.

Howbeit, my statement was a blanket statement for agents generally irrespective of the country being travelled to or what the mission of the travel is for (tourism, study, work, "japaism" ).
Business › Re: Comparing The Nigerian Naira And The Benin Republic Cefa by dochenaj: 1:27am On May 15, 2021
When your currency loses value, in the short term it might seem unnoticeable, but eventually there is equilibration and that equilibration is called inflation.

As long as you import a considerable amount of goods it will eventually reach everything. And the more import dependent you are, the faster and the huger the impact of the inflation.

Following the 6 degrees of separation, every product is at most 6 degrees connected to an imported product. The other day someone was complaining about how expensive bird feed has become, eventually that would affect the price of all bird products (eggs, chicken)

For a country heavily dependent on importation, it is only matter of time before every product would have to equilibrate to reflect the value of the currency. The other day, I learnt sachet water now goes for #200 a bag, and of course the retail price for one sachet is #20, this was just #5 a few years ago.

One of the products that takes time to be affected is rent, but eventually it will equilibrate.

While.we are comparing the numbers of the curency can we also please compare the purchasing power??
We are quick to compare naira to dollar, cedis to naira, cefa, euros, gbp etc and we only do so in terms on figures.

Let me ask you,
I dollar is = 480naira (what is the purchasing power of both?
1 dollar can buy you a cup of coffee in the USA but 480 naira can buy you tea( coffee, lipton, milo and milk) +sandwich
1 dollar can buy you 1 or 2 bottles of water in usa but 480 naira can buy 6 or 8 bottles of water in Nigeria.
500 cefa can only buy you 1 bottle water which is 250 cefa and 1 bottle of malt drink 250 cefa,
500 naira in Nigeria can buy you water, malt, gala, biscuit, bread and akara/eggroll
100cedis in ghana cannot buy you what 9000 can buy in Nigeria, FACT

If not for our lack of productivity as a country we will not be an import dependent country aĺways seeking validation of foreign currency.
I guess when $1 becomes #1000 you'll be very excited because then while the $1 buys just a cup of tea, your #1000 can now buy you "tea( coffee, lipton, milo and milk) +sandwich" for 2 days.

Single entry 90 days tourist visa is $190 and the multiple entry 90 days tourist visa is $460.

Using a dollar rate of #450/$1, the amount for the former is #85500 and for the latter #207,000.

So I bet the OP visa is single entry and the agent earned about 60k for his services.

@Derende I believe you. And all those casting aspersion to your story might just be the greedy Nigerian agents that are looking to profit from ignorance of Nigerians.

I wish you luck in your Dubai endeavours. I must confess when I read your title I thought you travelled from Cotonou to Dubai by road. grin grin
Travel › Re: My 30 Days Sojourn Through Cotonou To Dubai by dochenaj: 10:58pm On May 14, 2021
I don't see why someone would need an agent.

Take your time study the process, and do it for yourself.

Most agents don't really do anything special for your travel process.
