Ubenedictus:
here we go again!
The writter didnt mean d real passover, he was talking about fermented cakes.
@ bolded, Is there a fake Passover?

The writer is trying to tell you that the whole period between the Passover day and the fermented cakes is called the Passover

Maybe you will understand the statement below:
".....Passover commences on the 15th of the Hebrew month of Nisan and lasts for either seven days (in Israel) and for Reform Jews and other progressive Jews around the world who adhere to the Biblical commandment or eight days for Orthodox,Hasidic, and most Conservative Jews (in the diaspora).[7][8] In Judaism, a day commences at dusk and
lasts until the following dusk,
thus the first day of Passover
only begins after dusk of the
14th of Nisan and ends at dusk
of the 15th day of the month of
Nisan. The rituals unique to the
Passover celebrations
commence with the Passover
Seder when the 15th of Nisan
has begun. In the Northern
Hemisphere Passover takes
place in spring as the Torah
prescribes it: "in the month of
[the] spring" ( בחדש האביב
Exodus 23:15 ). It is one of the
most widely observed Jewish
holidays.......
In the Israel, Passover is the
seven-day holiday of the Feast
of Unleavened Bread......

You have deliberately cut off the second point again, that point shows that unless you believe that the scriptures contradict itself , then your views are wrong.
You want to hold on to your views, and ur views contradict the scriptures using that second point, hence you dnt want to mention it.

1. I stated the source right there.
Direct me to the source, dnt know how to get there.

2. All the early writter i have read clearly say that before Hilel is never happen BEFORE the equinox, they clearly write it always happen after! I went as far as to quote d writters. Do u have 1 ancient writting that says the contrary, or are u simply reject what i have written cos u dislike it?
I believe you read my post, those that celebrated the Passover before the equinox , did they base their celebration on the sahendrin calender? If yes pls tell us what year.
I've already told you two things.
1.Some Jews celebrated Passover at a date different from the one giving by the sahendrin.
2. No calender is perfect or accurate, it always has to be adjusted after a period of time for it to align with the celestial bodies.

To answer ur question, at nicea, the church decided to place easter on d sunday after d vernal equinox. No matter where it fell on any calendar.
You did not even attempt to answer any of my questions. I never asked you why the church decided to place Easter anywhere in any calender. I asked you : between 395 and 1582 what calender did your church use to calculate the Passover and Easter. And after telling us which calender was used , you can now tell us what issues the calender has with the equinox .

Christianity EtcRe: The Four-legged Flying Insect Bible(leviticus 11:20-23). by dolphinheart(m): 12:15pm On Dec 27, 2015
lexiconkabir:
firstly I never was the one that brought up the issue of bat, and if you read my post very well there is a reason why I diverted to that example and I later said it was by the way maybe you missed that!
Yes , you did not bring up the issue of bat, but your question let to it, at the first mention of bat, you invited others to see the post, but now that you have been fully answered on the issue of bats walking with 4 legs , you did not comment on it again.
The issue of bat is in the way, cus its an example of a flying creature that walks on ”four legs”(notice I did not say "all four"wink as verse 23 let's us know they where unclean to the isrealites.

no convincing reason has been given, the scripture was clear enough that it refers to insects and those insects were thought to have 4legs[God Almighty never inspired such]

"All flying insects that walk on all fours are to
be regarded as unclean by you. There are,
however, some flying insects that walk on all
fours that you may eat..."

flying insects that walk on all fours!
so what are you trying to say here?
I dnt think any reason can convince you, the reason for starting the thread is to find fault with the scriptures, accepting the reasons giving will affect ur already layed down ideaology of the scriptures which is not an easy thing to accept.
You have been shown with facts that moses was reffering to flying creatures and not only insects. It is left for the translator to determine if at each use of that word,he is specifically refering to insects or other creatures that can fly.

Your thoughts/opinions and reasoning are different from moses, the isrealites and those who understand the statement " all four". You have been told Its in refference to how some living things move and not that they have four legs. No one could have taught a small group of people that insects have four legs, talk less of hundreds of thousands and later millions. Even a small child then and now knows how many legs a grasshopper has as moses even described the function and position of one of the legs for easier understanding of which flying creatures can be eaten .

Its for those that might not understand the verse that a translator translated it this way
You may, however, eat winged insects that walk along the ground and have jointed legs so they can jump.

People who are just looking for fault might not see the twist in ur statement and the verses you quoted afterwards, u are arguing on " four legs" while quoting scriptures that says " all four".

not my business!
Good to note that you are not interested in the true explanation of lev 11: 20-23.

Leviticus has been mutilated! hence the errors we are debating on now.
You cannot provide the real text of those verses.
You cannot provide the original words of moses regarding the flying creatures that can be eating .
You cannot provide the people who changed that particular test. Yet you say some people changed it.

You cannot provide any evidence except that you feel it was not moses that penned those words.

Unless the lawyer wants to collect your money, he will not accompany you to court with these ur views, and someone who is truthfull will not support ur views.

The semen contains many things. Between 95 to 98% of it consists of fructose, prostaglandin hormones, metal and salt ions, lipids, steroid hormones, enzymes, basic amines, and amino acids. All those are produced from the glands located in abdomen. Between 2 to 5% of it consists of the sperms produced in the testicles.
Wish you could mention one or two of these glands and we could find out where its located.
You could even provide scientific source of its location in the human body for us.

The Quran does not say where semen is produced. Just where it comes from during coitus!
In fact, if the Quran had said that the semen is produced in the abdomen, (“between the ribcage and the spine”), and not the testicles, it would still be accurate. At least 95 to 98% accurate! Only 2-5% of the semen is contributed by the testicles. The rest is produced in the glands located in the pelvic cavity.
I like how you use words in relation to ur prophets discription of the human anatomy.
So the abdomen is between the rib cage and the spine?
Or rather the pelvic cavity is between the rib cage and the spine?

I think you have to give us a clearer understanding of where the ribcage is, where the spine is, and what is between the both of them.
Also add the glands so we can know if its located in the abdomen or pelvic cavity.

But the Quran does not say where the semen is produced, because the Quran is not 98% accurate. It is 100% ACCURATE!

Semen is stored in vesicles that lie in the abdomen. From there it is ejaculated during coitus. Lay people still think that the ejaculate comes from the testicles(I don't mean you ooo)
You also need to add the source of these ur statements, make sure they are from scientific sources and not religious o.

I never rendered the testicles useless maybe my choice of words suggested so, I have given the job of the testicles up there ^^^ pls if you wanna know more about it a little Google research could help you. thanks!
Can you provide me a link on where to do the research?
Christianity EtcRe: Is Celebrating Christmas Wrong ? by dolphinheart(m): 10:42am On Dec 27, 2015
Can you now see the difference between this:

CAPTIVATOR:
" the day of death is better
than the day of birth" ecc 7:1 ,
na wa oh ! Celebrating Jesus
Birth which he didnt command
makes sense to you !
Jesus Knew Ecclesiastes 7:1
So well , not suprised he
institutes the remembrance of
his DEATH
(luke 22:19) but never his birth .
And this :
malvisguy212:
captivator say Jesus death
should be the one to celebrate
and not Christmas, infact
Jesus command us to do so.

So I will ask this questions to
you, did Jesus died every
year ?
Can see that what you said captivator said does not correspond with what captivator really said .?

You have not shown me where jesus said we should celebrate his death. Pls quote the scripture out for us to see.

have you heard of the book called "the shepherd of Hemas"? How about the Gospel of Thomas? these were just a couple of the hundreds of books available to choose from.
Hello sir, I'm not talking about books, I'm talking about the inspired word of God.

Are the shepherd of hermas and gospel of Thomas inspired?
If not, then they are not supposed to be mentioned when talking about the compilation of the inspired books.

If yes, pls tell us why ur church did not add some of the word of God to the bible?
What was the reason or criteria that your church used to select some inspired books and rejected some inspired books in their compilation.?
E.g why was Matthew added and gospel of Thomas not added.!

the Scriptures they had was the one that was read in the synagogue and a few letters from Paul and some of the apostles like Peter, James and John, which weren't considered Scriptures at the time, just letters from the leaders of the Christian community.
Haba sir! , those letters where available for them at that time! Was it not? Call it letters, books, scripture or any name you want, the fact is that the inspired books that where compiled was available to the christians hundreds of years before such compilation occured.
You are acting as if calling those books letters make them less important, less inspired or less available.

Do you think one inspired book is more important than the other?

smh. ignorance.

the church compiled the Canon of Scriptures, the ones that would be considered the inspired word of God, which would form the collection of books "Bible".

there was a lot to choose from, but the Church chose the ones we now know as Bible.
Did they choose all inspired books or left some out of the compilation?

Wateva ur answer is to the above question, pls add reasons why such was done.

what was the reason the heavenly host were rejoicing ? When an angel came to the shepherds in
the field one night, “the angel said to
them,“Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of GREAT JOY that will be for ALL THE PEOPLE ” (Luke 2:10).

This joy was not for only Mary or Joseph, nor was it for only the shepherd BUT FOR ALL THE PEOPLE, it is this great news we are celebrating.
Thank God you said they rejoiced! They where full of joy for the event that happened.

Did they celebrate it with merryment? No

Was there a record of them(all people that believed in jesus then) doing it again based on the movement of celestial bodies? No

Did they(the angels) tell you to always do it? No
Was jesus born every year? No
Was the date recorded? No

The reason that the angels rejoiced can be found in the bolded.
That great joy that will be , has been there for us from that day onward, everyday till now, no day is dissallowed that we cannot access that great joy, the joy that the most high sent someone to come and redeem us. And what did the scriptures tell us? It tells us to rejoice always! Not to have a man made date using a made calender for celebration a man made religious event that came out of paganistic ideas.

Pls tell us, how did humans start the celebration of Christmas and how did they celebrate it.

@dolphinheart, my point exactly is, God Almighty words shouldnt contradict science, he is omniscient! words of ancient men contradicted contemporary science most times. most of what is in that book was attributed to Moses pbuh falsely, The God Almighty Allah(s.w.t) I serve could never have inspired a word that would contradict science, let me give an example from the Quran(The only Holy that never contradicts science), till the 17th century, scientists believed that sperm is produced from the testicles(some still believe this BS) whereas it comes from between the spine and ribs(i.e the abdomen) as it was discovered later. surprisingly around 14centuries ago, It has been revealed to Muhammad pbuh that "So let man see from what he is created! He is created from a fluid ghushing forth, proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs"(Q.86:5-7) following your logic, since It was believed that s'emen is from the testicles, Muhammad pbuh should have also said the same? well, that BTW
You have left the issue of bat, left the issue of "all fours" and now gone to contradiction of science.
You dnt know that I and others reading this thread learn from you and every other person when he/she gives his/her own view on something.

The scriptures does not go contrary to established scientific fact. The real reasons and meaning of moses statement has been explained to you. You will only see contradictions when you refuse to listen to those reasons and meanings.

I asked you if moses lied or if those that adjusted moses statement where stupiid for such glaring contradiction you claim exists to be included in the scriptures. They have seen grasshoppers for years, they know how it looks like, the writer even went on describe how some of its legs look like and yet you are insisting that the writer meant the insect has four legs! When it is not even stated so!
I think your accusation is just a bad attempt at finding fault and not about learning the truth.

Yes words of ancient men contradict science, but not words that where inspired to be written down by God for us.
Pls tell me more about how sperm is produced in the abdomen?
How is sperm produced ?
And pls what is the function of the testicles?
Are you saying that man can produce sperm if the testicles are not there/removed/ estensively damaged?

You are not celebrating jesus! You are celebrating the birthday of jesus!

It was not recorded that jesus did it.
Not recorded that his parents did it.
Not recorded that the disciples did it.
Not recorded that the Jews did it.
Not recorded that the apostles did it.
Not recorded that early christians did it.

So who did birthday celebrations?
Answer : pagans
When do they do birthday celebration for one of their Gods?
Answer : Dec 25th.

A lot of dates where recorded in the scriptures, but God has protected us from satans manipulative ways. He did not reveal the date jesus was born to us so that Satan will not use that date to create a pagan or man made religious celebration in the name of jesus!

the point I am trying to make is that it is quite hilarious that you pick the same Bible compiled by them to bash them.

if as he claimed the Catholic church is demonic well you shouldn't be reading it because it can't then be the inspired word of God.

there were hundreds and hundreds of books to pick from. They picked the ones which are currently in the Bible.

the word Bible means collection of books.

what it has to do with Christmas? I was merely responding to another post, so read my post in context.
Solomon served God then later turned away, does that mean the things he wrote are not inspired ?

Which book do you have that you claim to be inspired but not added to the compiled scriptures and why did you not add it ? Why was it not picked? .

If a child crawls with its hand and legs, does that makes the child have four legs?
The child is crawing using all four limbs .
The child craws because it has not mastered its natural mood for movement, hence the need to use his forelimbs which biology describes as hands to support his back limbs which is reffered to as legs, the back limbs are called legs cus they are the primary limbs that support the weight during movement.
In a short time, as a child grows , it stops the use of his forelimbs as a primary limb for movement, hence it cannot be defined as legs.

@embolden, hope you know what you are implying? secondly, the verse makes it clearly that "....they are however insects that walks on all four of which you may eat: those that have jointed legs for hoping on the ground, of these you may eat anykind of locust, grasshoppers....." notice the connection of words, the verse suggest that there are insects that walks on all fours which has jointed legs for hopping and examples such as locust and grasshoppers were given.
You have left the issue of "bat", good.

Bros, the attempt to look for problems with the scriptures will not allow one to understand how and why such scripture is written and translated in such way.

Moses and the isrealites know the insect(s) that it being reffered to. He was familiar with the fact that insects have six or more legs. So the reference is undoubtedly to their mode of travel rather than to the number of their legs. There are winged insects, including the bees, flies, and wasps, that walk with their six legs in the manner of four-legged animals. Other insects, such as the locusts, are equipped with two leaper legs and thus literally use the other four legs for crawling. These are the kinds of insects that can be eating.

So "going on all fours" is not in reference to the number of legs they have but at the way they move, and only those with specific kind(not number) of legs can be eating.

Since the emphasis on what to eat and not what to eat, verse 23 now included four legged flying creatures in not what to eat. This verse is now specific about legs of flying creatures and not insects.

I dnt understand the point of ur discussion or what you are trying to bring out, are you saying moses lied to the isrealites?
Even if your claim that the scriptures is adulterated is true and moses never made such statement. Do you thing that those that added such statement are stupid not to know how many legs the specific insects they mentioned have?
Moses was talking in hebrew in a manner that the isrealites understand so they can easily identify which insects they can eat and avoid. But you where expecting moses to be giving them biology lessons so you can find where to find fault with his statements.

New Living Translation
You may, however, eat winged
insects that walk along the
ground and have jointed legs
so they can jump.

The OP has done a good job by quoting from 14:5-6. It is your choice whether to what to celebrate Christmas or not and how you decide to celebrate it. It does not matter whether Roman Catholic chose a wrong date falsely.
The reason any date is selected for religious celebration does matter. Is it because it was convenient or ordained or because it could merge with other religious celebration.

The mode/method of church celebration is also important. Are the method or ways in which it is celebrated found in the scriptures or in pagan religion.

The enjoyment of the socalled historical and unbiblical 25th December festival is so fun that many Christians will do anything to back it up with the bible just to be sure they are not celebrating as the pagans do. The bible gave only two birthday events. Both events were from pagans. King Pharaoh and Herod. Bothe birthday events took lifes. King Herod ’s birthday took John the Baptist head. While king Pharaoh’s killed his chief baker. It is important to read the whole book to understand how birthday led them in killing. They might have got drunk and feeling too proud on a special. None of the prophets celebrated birthday. This alone should tell you its not important. Why tag the Messiah with a world events?

That of King Pharaoh :
Genesis 40:20-23 Now it came to pass on the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, that he made a feast for all his servants; and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants. Then he restored the chief butler to his butlership again, and he placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand. But he hanged the chief baker, as Joseph had interpreted to them. Yet the chief butler did not remember Joseph, but forgot him.

And that of KING Herod :
Mark 6:14-29
20 For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and an holy, and observed him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.

21 And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;

22 And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.

23 And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.

24 And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.

25 And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.

26 And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.

Did you notice how they did it?

Answer : they where kings.

Why do pagan kings, pagans and idol worshipers start and hold birthdays as important ?
Answer: cus of astrology , the reading of stars to predict future event.

Does jehovah like, support, approve, endose astrology, their practices and over in merriment?
Absolutely NO.

Jehovah, jesus, the disciples, and apostles went a long way in protecting us from paganistic influence by not revealing to us the date jesus was born, so that some wunt use that date to establish new doctrines. But despite all that, some still decided to find one day sha in a calender they themselves created.

Thank you. That's simply all some do to celebrate Jesus. They worship and receive their King. They rejoice and do good works, pray and give thanks. If you do that everyday, please allow others do it on the day of their choice. December 25 is a day the Lord has made, it is not a pagan day. Pagans couldn't make a day to save their lives. The devil has no copyright, he's a thief. Tell me something, incantations and speaking in tongues, which came first and which is pagan?
Good to know that receiving jesus as king is done once every year by some people.
The celebration done on Dec 25th is not the lords doing, its man made.
The pagans did not make a day, they choosed a day to celebrate their Gods, some now choosed that same day, using mostly the same methods and practices as used by the pagans to celebrate Christmas.
All these had no precedence in our worship to jehovah, jesus , his disciples, the apostles, early christians never formulated, observe or practise such religious celebration.

As to ur question , I dnt know when incantation started but since its related to magic I think it started ealier(I might be wrong).
But what I know is that incantation and speaking in tongue are not related, unlike the relation between pagan celebrations and Christmas celebrations.

you are totally bereft of reason.
We are commanded to take the Lord's Table. Do you do it daily or how often do you do it? Do you attempt to do it on the day Jesus died?

Likewise, Christmas is not marking the day Jesus was born but celebrating His incarnation

1 Corinthians 8 on food offered to idols is a good point to learn from.

Food offered to idols is paganism and it caused the weak and feeble minded like you to stumble because they imagined eating as equivalent to worshipping idols.

There is nothing pagan in commemorating Christ's incarnation unless Christ is a pagan deity
Ones there is no derogatory statement(s),ill comment.

Yo believe one too many things.

Explain to me this;
Is Watchtower the sole infallible interpreter of scriptures?
Create a thread for that and invite me, if there is no abusive, derogatory, demeaning speech mentioned there, I will comment.
This thread is about Christmas
