citygirl82: Pls can someone answer me? Is it that those people who were discharged because they got healed miraculously or that Nano silva was used to treat them?
Govt and FMH needs to keep a lid on it....we treat our citizens first, others later
I pray Nigeria would seize this opportunuty to have the already experienced health care workers and the wonder cure sent to Liberia and Sierra Leone. We have many of our countrymen in those countries.

kenn100: Wow! Great news...This news is even more comforting now for some reasons:

1: it shows that with God everything is possible (He alone has the final say)...hence let's continue to ask God to help us through prayers.

2: it shows that with or without Zmapp, there is still hope 4 us...if Dr. Anonymous could recover from this deadly viral disease, then it could happen to anyone else and i pray it happens soon enough.

3: i'm not ruling out the fact that this doctor's gene may actually contain the solution (anti-bodies) that could be used on other affected patients...(lets also put that into consideration too).

Finally, the fact remains, there is hope afterall...
To God be the glory!!!
Tonight's gonna be a good night...

Blessed art thow Naija!!!
thank u especially for point 3..the solution as a vaccine might rest on this wonderful woman.

when Liberia cried out against the discrimination and stereotype of their citizen...most commentators wrote "correct move,Liberia must go,Gej till....,etc"...Now you know feel just a pinch of what it is like to stereotype a whole nation and discriminate against them cos of one or few cases of anomaly.
Nigeria and her people will not learn except through the hard way.

It took "a crazy man" in Gej voice,to expose tthe true state of the so called bogus preparedness of our government.Nothing was preoared for.Nigeria and fire brigade approach to national issues...Tueeh!

Emeca: At this very moment, this country is not worth dying for.

If these soldiers protest, they would be court-martialled, shuld they abandon their duties, a heavier punishment awaits them. The only option available is to go fight a heavily-armed enemy with inferior weapons; not dat the country is poor and cannot afford better weapons but because of corruption and uncaring attitude by those at d helm.

I feel the pain of these women. This is d much they can do to try change the situation.

Announcement
The attention of the general public is drawn to the recent cases of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) that were detected in Lagos. As part of the Federal and State governments’ plan to protect its citizens from infection, a robust containment strategy has been developed to be implemented at all levels. To ensure the effectiveness of the response strategy, volunteers are being deployed to support several areas of work. While volunteering is usually done as a means of giving back to society, the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Lagos State Government have partnered to make available some compensation packages as a means of demonstrating our gratitude for your selfless services. The hazardous jobs will have hazard packages that include life insurance.
If you are a graduate and would like to volunteer, please come daily from 9am Monday 11th August 2014 to the Conference Hall of Federal Neuro Psychiatric Hospital in Yaba with the following:
1. A form of identification (e.g. Driver’s license or passport)
2. Two Passport size pictures
3. Three References
4. Copy of Educational Certification
5. Evidence of previous experience
The various areas for which volunteers are needed are as follows:
1. Health Screening
2. Community Mobilization
3. Administrative Support
4. Clinical Management
5. Contact Tracing
6. Infection Prevention and Control
We are counting on you our brothers and sisters to support this cause; because without you, we cannot contain this disease in Nigeria. Please come out and join hands with us to prevent a national outbreak of this disease.

HealthRe: Lagos State Website To Fight Ebola Epidemic by donodion(m): 11:57am On Aug 11, 2014
hello guys,
I got this from naija this afternoon, supposedly from the US Consular in Lagos as regards the Ebola thingy.

Perhaps you circulate this to others .

"This latest alert from the US Embassy here in Nigeria about the much talked about Ebola virus is a sort of relief especially to those who have been reading so many scary and panic information online.
So now make sure you read this information and have some peace of mind. Read below...

In order to help our Embassy Community better understand some of the key points about the Ebola virus we have consulted with our medical specialists at the U S State Department and assembled this list of bullet points worded in plain language for easy comprehension.
Our medical specialists remind everyone that they should be following the guideline from the center for Disease Control and the World Health Organisation.
• The suspected reservoirs for Ebola are fruit bats.
• Transmission to humans is thought to originate from infected bats or primates that have become infected by bats.
• Undercooked infected bat and primate (bush) meat transmits the virus to humans.
• Human to human transmission is only achieved by physical contact with a person who is acutely and gravely ill from the Ebola virus or their body fluids. Continue...
• Transmission among humans is almost exclusively among caregiver family members or health care workers tending to the very ill.
• The virus is easily killed by contact with soap, bleach, sunlight, or drying. A washing machine will kill the virus in clothing saturated with infected body fluids.
• A person can incubate the virus without symptoms for 2-21 days, the average being 5-8 days before becoming ill. THEY ARE NOT CONTAGIOUS until they are acutely ill.
• Only when ill does the viral load express itself first in the blood and then in other bodily fluids (to include vomit, feces, urine, breast milk, semen and sweat).
• If you are walking around you are not infectious to others.
• There are documented cases from Kikwit, DRC of an Ebola outbreak in a village that had the custom of children never touching an ill adult. Children living for days in small one room huts with parents who died from Ebola did not become infected.
• You cannot contract Ebola by handling money, buying local bread or swimming in a pool.
• There is no medical reason to stop flights, close borders, restrict travel or close embassies, businesses or schools.
• As always practice good hand washing techniques, but you will not contract Ebola if you do not touch a dying person.
• US EMBASSY

Please share this information with your friends and families."

michelz: I don't care about the se.xual needs of the widows- they can handle that if they really want to. My concern lies in their financial needs;coping alone with the burden of the family. This is why i think widows should be payed monthly stipends to help alleviate their burden and suffering.
good and valid point.Besides their intimate needs, the financial aspect is a big challene for these poor women especially with kids to breed.
Big question, what does our churches that collects all sorts of offerings do on regular basis to assist these widows with childrenhuh

HealthRe: Family Of Dead Nigerian Nurse On The Run by donodion(m): 6:21am On Aug 10, 2014
mamarika: Stop this ignorance allll of u,the one who created this trade is a wickedd liar!how could people say things that U̶̲̥̅̊ aree not sure of ?things as wicked as this?who told u that nonsense?honestly Nigeria is in trouble Απϑ filled with lies .almost everyone is a liar.GoD !!! this is soo wicked.
Forr your information, that nurse who died (the first Nigerian τ̅☺ die)is a widow, have four kids ,the first son is serving outside Lagos Απϑ she lives with 3 there in lag.am very very close to that family so ℓ̊ have first hand info abt them.
U said the nurse ran away Απϑ refused to come forr treatment that's why she died.may GOD forgive you forr this wicked statement!
She worked in a hospital Απϑ left home as usual after her duty time, when later the hospital got to knw of what exactly was Patrick sawyers problem Απϑ got the ministry of health involved what physical efforts did dey make to get all the persons who had contact with him for proper isolation Απϑ quarantine?nothing but all they do Ȋ̝̊̅§ keep making false lies in the media "we have isolated all the people who had contact with the liberian.
Untill this woman started having fever @ home Απϑ then it was getting worse that her immediate younger brother "who has a wife Απϑ a child "plus her 3 kids got the hospital on fone "ℓ̊ mean first consultant "where she works that they told them to isolate the woman Απϑ leave where she is.they took the adress from them Απϑ later they came with an ambulance to pick her .they gave the relatives some numbers to reach them with.
But ℓ̊ tell you the last conversation, this people had with this medical persons was on Tuesday nite when they called them to say the nurse was dead.of course they never went to see the course!
Now tell me,is it not the work of those medicals to go Bα̲̅я̲̅K Απϑ pick up the contacts as they proclaim to us on the media?but № ,they work only on the media.they never cared to go Απϑ fish out people who has had contact with the woman.even when the family has been calling those numbers since Tuesday, none is available, the one which Ȋ̝̊̅§ available,№ one Ȋ̝̊̅§ picking up.they had to go Απϑ lodge themselve in a hotel room in a bid to isolate themselves " the womans 3kids Απϑ her younger bro "all out of confusion.saying they will not move out of there untill they can either contact those w.H.0 persons for proper treament Απϑ quarantine but if they don't they will stay in that hotel room forr @least 30 days as since they Ƌ̲яε̲̣̣̣̥ not sure if they have it or not Απϑ since the incubation period is 21days Max.
Only one who is close to that family knows the trauma Απϑ confusion they Ƌ̲яε̲̣̣̣̥ going thru, our govt Ȋ̝̊̅§ doing nothing to put contact in check, it soo annoying Απϑ pathetic,ℓ̊ would have never beleived this going by all the news ℓ̊ hear abt how the ministry of health Ȋ̝̊̅§ helping, but knw ℓ̊ A̶̲̥̅♏ very close τ̅☺ them so ℓ̊ speak with them every day.as @ this morning when last ℓ̊ spoke with them, they are still in the hotel room.
Oh my God.This is a deep revelation you have exposed here.Ah Nigerian government,I loathe them all.
Thanks for the exposee...i kept inforning my aunt from this side about the ebola thing in lagos, only for her to reply "govt is doing their best to check the spread and God is in control"...I nearly smashed my phone against the wall.was this woman listening to me at all?
These bastards you people are dying to vote for do not care of your well being fellow Naijas....open your eyes and your mind for goodness sake.
FoodRe: The Secret Of Losing The Sour Taste In The Tomato Stew by donodion(m): 8:58pm On Aug 05, 2014
farano: Wash the tomatoes and blend alongside the fresh pepper. Boil for few minutes, lets say 2 - 4 minutes , and pour the tomato paste into a sieve and allow to sieve out the water. It wouldn't leak if you pour gently.

The secret of losing the sour taste is in the sieve of the tomatoes and frying with lots of oil which could be filtered out after frying. It works perfectly for me.

SmooshCHN: Spending 10months in China, I've noticed that their growth and development was achieved by determination. Back to their history, all what China has turned into now all happened between 24years. Good and determined leadership. They still have little problems but when I look at them, I discover Nigeria can be like this but Why not?? What's stopping us? It's owes to poor leadership.. It's painful that we have leaders who only care about their pockets.. I hope Nigerians would drop their thinking and come out to see we have lots to achieve if only we'd stop these leaders treating us like Pigs.. A Chinese once ask me "how many Universities are in Nigeria??" The question touched me cos I know he felt we were nothi ng then he said 10?? shocked
I told him we had over 100 then he said Why come to China, I said I wanted to get More.. but then deep down I know what made me left..
Seeing their Transportation Network, Nigerians deserve More, Nigerians Deserve More.. Imagine a government that can't even provide security.. Sincerely it might take Decades before things would change positively.. I just wish these Old and Selfish leaders would be scrapped..
