@ochukoccna: How are you? I trust you're well and having fun. The GTB rate as at 14th August is #277.7 per £. I've not noticed it go past #278.5 lately except it does this week. |
tobee: Hello guys, my CAS was sent in LNG format. There is no way I could download and then print. I just have to print directly from my email address. My worry is that printing directly from my inbox shows GMAIL logo. I don't expect this the be any issue. Or what do u think? I actually expected pdf format or jpg. paradisewoods: download the. lng file , right click on it and choose open with adobe acrobat readerIf you can't get the pdf format as advised by paradisewoods then it's okay to print from the email directly. Your CAS isn't actually a physical document. The important thing is that the CAS number shows on it - that is what they need. |
paradisewoods: September 15th, no latest start date o.You will have 11 working days to school resumption if you go to Ikeja. It's risky as that is the average visa processing time. If you do go to VI, recent experience of Nairalanders show the average visa processing time is =/>15 working days; sounds worse. Can you consider Abuja if it will be possible to get appointment before or by 28th Aug.? Can you also call your school and be sure to confirm they can't give you a week at least after the normal resumption as your latest date? |
paradisewoods: Please help me, my 28 days is over and I have completed my online application, I tried booking appointment at Ikeja ,under visa type I chose PBS tier 4 and the earliest date for that is 28th of august. should I just choose standard appointment instead of PBS tier 4 because the earliest date for standard appointment is 19th August. Please I cant wait till 28th August because my school is resuming soon. Pls helpYou need to have an interview done as a Tier4 applicant. Why do you want to pick Standard Appointment? When does your school resume and is there latest start date? |
tobee: It's normal two days wait when u make a cheque deposit from a different bank as yours . Like u deposit a UBA cheque at GtbankOkay, I get it. As long as the closing balance you had as at 18th July was enough, then it's fine to start counting from 18th and your 28th day is the 15th of August. |
tobee: Hello house, I need ur advice. I made a cheque deposit for maintenance money on 17th which was a Thursday and was suppose to mature on 21st. Fortunately, someone deposited some money in my account on 18th. When I print my account statement from 18th, it showed the amount I deposited on Thursday without saying the cheque is not mature. Is it safe to start counting my 28 days from 18th?I don't understand what you mean by your cheque not being matured. if you have the complete required money as at Thursday and you have another deposit on Friday, 18th, you can print your statement from 18th July if you want. Your 28th day will be 15th August. |
igwejay: Good day all,1) Your chances of getting a job is dependent on several factors that it will be difficult to work out the probability figure. In summary, go and study if you want to but don't bank on getting a job thereafter. However, you can give it all your best. 2) To stay and hustle will legally be a 4-month period added to your end of course date. Anything outside that will be illegal except you get visa extension for further study or job. 3)It makes sense if you give it a sense. Reason is everything! |
akinolajane: please, i am in a situation. After your 28 days you will have approx. 11 working days before your school resumes. It's mid-peak times for visa processing but you're still going to get your visa after an average of 11 working days (average is for Ikeja applicants). What you can do now is to contact your school and ask for the Latest Resumption Time which is often 2 weeks after resumption date. If they grant you at least one week and it reflects on your CAS, then you have a very high chance of making a successful application. However, you must ensure you make a very excellent application. |
Congratulations @SpikesC and others who have their visas. @Sashacoleman, hoping you get a positive news soon. |
HudsonBanks: Good evening my people! If the payment confirmation is sent directly from your school's official email, and if your name is clearly written as the payer, together with amount paid towards accommodation, then it should be alright to use the email. However, note that the maximum money you can show towards accomm. is £1020. |
Bambamzzzz: One of them met the requirement which has 5 million inside under my name and the second one is under my name too but just normal savings account but did not meet the requirement and the eco was saying i had only one statement instead of 2.To add to what SpikeC already told you; If your statement was valid and required money held for appropriate date, you'll have a good chance of winning a review BUT you don't know when the decision of the review will be made to you. I only advice a review in a case where you're convinced to win AND you have at least 35days before resumption. Otherwise, just re-apply and accept the unfortunate incident. This time, use only one statement (as long as it has all your money) and possibly highlight the important figures and dates. All the best. |
pholareen1: HelloThere's no problem with that. If you have not submitted your documents yet, and you still feel worried, then you can write a letter explaining and correcting the mistake; and attach it to your application. |
Rachii: Kindly assist I am applying for a tier 4 general student Visa, I already have my CAS and enough money for myself and dependent. Pls my questions are these:If the Appointment Page says you pay in the next three hours after booking, or lose appointment date.... then I advice you do so. I advice you wait till the 15th to book it and then pay immediately. Your own account for both of you is perfect. He doesn't need to have signatory. |
Pweety1: @spikesC which one since I am using waecIn bold |
kemkem30: I said 94000pounds and yes it was stated. But they used 264naira to a pound and also wrote a naira equivalent of 24,816,000(they are paying in naira). The first installment of 8,231,000naira is still being processed. If you have the 28 days to count after money is lodged into your account by TETFund, I will advice you apply as a Tier 4 (General) Student. That option of applying as (Sponsorship) is used when governments or international organisations will be FULLY sponsoring the applicant. Now, if TETFund states the conversion rate on the Scholarship letter, it may appear as if the sponsorship will not include any currency conversion fluctuation, and you MAY be at the mercy of the ECO and I don't know what might happen. Oga @Justwise, please look into this and advice accordingly. Thanks. |
liyahhh: Hey! I know it's been forever, but I just thought I should update on my outcome since you were offering me advice. I got my visa! I got the decision basically within 1 working day. I had no problem whatsoever with my maintenance funds as I was still able to fall within the £800 a month category as stated in the Tier 4 visa policy guide.I'm very happy for you. I remember the confusion that arose when you asked your question. Congratulations and welcome to the UK. |
Pweety1: @justwise, how do you get the oanda print.Go to www.oanda.com/currency/converter and enter the money you're required to have (£14000) in "Currency I want". Type NGN in the "Currency I have" and you'll get the money in Naira ... this should be less or equal to the amount in your account for 28 days. Print the Page off and use a highlighter to highlight the amounts and the date. 1) Your account is fine. As long as 3.8m is required and your money never dropped below 4m as you said. 2) Just the documents on CAS (Transcript and WAEC) then the Marriage certificate and Newspaper Cutting will suffice as evidence for change of name. 3) IKEJA |
kemkem30: The money has been divided into 3equal parts. To be paid in 3 equal installments. You mentioned having £97000 and that's why I answered you the way I did before. Ideally, you need to show money evidence for one year. So if you have the one-year money paid to you by TETFund already, then you can apply as a Tier4(General). But if the money is not in your account, then you must use the letter to apply as a Tier4(Sponsored) student. |
kemkem30: tetfund/university where I work. Tetfund provides the fund, the university picks the awardees and issues award letter. I am going for a phdWith your letter, you'll be Tier4(General) (Sponsored) Student. Don't worry about any money evidence or rate. It's an over 3-year programme and you have the scholarship letter. However, if you have all the money in your account already, you can use the Tier 4 (General) Student if you desire. |
dannyabba: Hello house. I am currently expecting my CAS from UCL and after going through this, and similar, threads, I'm getting scared that I'm running out of time; the school is to start on Sept. 22. Is it possible for me to submit an application without my CAS and book a date like 3 weeks ahead, instead of waiting for it and then not being able to get a suitable date? You need a CAS number to get through an application AND book interview. |
kemkem30: Please I still need help with this. Thanks!Who is your sponsor? And at what level are you going to study? |
kemkem30: @donoms @presiadeYou're welcome. Thank God you didn't delay further. All the hest. |
beautyuche: This is taking long oooo the new status is "processed passport is in transit to uk visa operations center" its been this way two days now.....Still waiting dont even know how long dis new status will last as the last one lasted about 4 days after i got d confirmation mail.I guess you just have to be a little patient. Start tracking it on the UPS site as the VFS site status may not change immediately your package is dispatched. |
mokholar: I have another question ooo... I just say the "hours per week" section in the CAS and it reads 0.0What 'hours per week?' It could be hours required to attend lectures or anything. Your school can't decide your right to work except UKVI, besides you're attending a public school. |
Keith101: Hi everyone, please I submitted my application on the 31st of July and presently waiting for a response. Can I continue making transactions on my account (withdrawals/deposits).These would not affect my required funds since I have well above what is required, but would however affect the specific figure I submitted. You're free to run your account as long as you don't allow your balance go below the required money. |
Chaze85: Guys pls i need clarification about oanda conversion is it after i print the statement of account or after paying online application or the day i deposit money?According to UKVI TIER 4 POLICY DOCUMENT, your APPLICATION DATE is the date you paid your application fees. When your application is assessed, the rate used for you is said to be the rate on the "day of your application." Therefore, the OANDA page you should print will be the one that shows the rate on the day you paid "Application Fees." Before online payment option, everyone paid fees on the date of document submission so there was no confusion. Please, refer to the Policy Document and read about "APPLICATION DATE" REF: Beginning of Page 51 https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/339357/T4_Guidance_08-14.pdf |
Chaze85: I dnt have complete but wen i found out that it's not complete i paid my school fees as an additional to make it completeIt's either you're unconsciously getting us confused here or I personally don't understand you. If the balance of your fees is #100, and your maintenance money is #70, then the money required for you to show as evidence is #170 which must have been in your account for at least 28 days. To avoid confusion for the ECO, print your statement from the date you made the transaction that shows you have your #170 in your account. |
Chaze85: Guys do i need to submit appendix 8 eventhough i will submit application online?Fill it up appropriately and go with it to the application centre. If they don't need it, they will simply return it to you. As per your statement, why not print from July 4th which will reflect your transaction. Except you made a transaction on July 5th, then it you can go ahead as planned. |
beautyuche: I have used the ups tracking number but I keeps seeing "UPS could not locate the shipment details for your request. Please verify your information and try again later" This is why i am worried sickThat's sounding as if it has not been dispatched to the UPS hub but it is impossible to delay your package for 3 days. My advice is that you calm down first. Have you tracked it via VFS site? Whatever the VFS tracking says will decide your next action - i.e. if you should call UKVI, VFS or UPS. |
beautyuche: Good day All,I'm assuming you used courrier with the tone of your message. If that's the case, track it with the number given to you when you made application.; you may need to visit the courrier office in your city where the package landed. If you didn't use courrier, then you may just have to wait till Monday to visit the VFS centre where application was made. |
tobee: Hello house, please what's your view on using laminated documents. All my docs are laminated. A friend told me it is not acceptable. Whatever I was thinking that made me laminate all my documents.Do the documents have seals? If not, then the lamination is fine and won't be a problem. But if seals are on the documents, I'm not sure whether they are acceptable or not. Someone else who knows will have to verify that. |
cookies: Hello house, pls I wish to submit my tier 4 application on Thursday, when am I supposed to do the panda print out?You should print the Oanda Currency Converter page for that Thursday. Have you paid for your application? |
