Saucy Dolph: Abeg I don't know if this is a stupid question ooooThe soup will thaw only in a few hours and I guess you know the implication. |
danny4sure: Got my Visa delivered @ home todayCongratulations to you. All the best. |
rudedough: Sorry i'm a religious scholar if that means anything in context, i have studied the Bible many times and also the Qur'an. I can tell you authoritatively that i am very knowledgeable about your Bible and i don't need to find loop holes, i will show you things in your bible that your Pastors haven't come across.I'm no religious scholar. I don't have full understanding of the Bible and I know nothing about the Quran. My dad used to sound like you many years ago, so I know where you're coming from and what knowledge you possess. But one thing I want to point out in your comment is the bolded part and I see many people make that same mistake: Believing in God (and/or Jesus) is not the same as religion. |
GeneralShepherd: :While I would have loved to make you see reasons why I know God exists, it is not the question you asked so I will refrain from that path. To answer your questions: You CANNOT undo what has been done and neither can you unlearn or unknow what you claim to know about God. The inconsistencies you talk about are not what you think they are but only questions which you don't have answers to - just the same way you cannot tell what lie beyond our universe or what lies deep in the earth crust. Man has always asked questions and man has never been satisfied. In the context of question-asking, Prof Freud queried Dr. Jung's ideas as "trying to play God." Being "sheeple" to make your mum happy is the height of self-deception, although I know that believing in God is not being sheeple even though I cannot say same of religion. In conclusion, unless you have an encounter bigger than your ideologies and mental assertions, you CANNOT undo/unknow/unlearn anything. rudedough: You guys just stretch your fingers and write rubbish all over the internet. I have asked you now, please make me see reasons why God exist. Remember "reasons" so i don't need you to read me anything from the bible. Show me reasonable proof that God exist. My dear, if you read between the lines, you have your answers. But I know you don't see any answer. Do you know why you don't see the answers to the question you asked? Simply because you're not searching for that answer but for a different one. |
GeneralShepherd: Since I officially dumped the idea of a god, I haven't seen my parents. I went home this christmas,it was a wonderful holiday for me,little did I know my mum was hurting deep down inside! While I would have loved to make you see reasons why I know God exists, it is not the question you asked so I will refrain from that path. To answer your questions: You CANNOT undo what has been done and neither can you unlearn or unknow what you claim to know about God. kellyemms: noted.... will withdraw from my account nextThat's okay. But if you like, you may make a transaction on Wednesday if you want to print your statement on Thursday. You could just pay in any amount...even if it is #200. But if you don't make any transaction, you'll be fine anyway. |
Re: TB or No TB palava... Nigerians traveling to the UK for a lengthy period of time had hitherto been exempted from providing a TB certificate unlike Ghana and some other African countries. Unfortunately as it is now, that is changing. While preparing to come to the UK for studies a few months ago, I got this e-mail from my school who demanded I get a TB certificate before traveling to the UK: email in part: We are advised by the UK medical authorities that students coming to the UK from the following areas of the world (regardless of nationality) may be required to be screened for TB when they arrive – · Africa · India · Bangladesh · Pakistan · Indonesia end of email Although I didn't get the TB certificate done, I had an x-ray (for TB) taken and came to the UK with it. The only question I was asked at the Point of Entry was if I had TB or if any member of my family have ever had it, and to which I replied in the negative (I also filled a form where I had to write "NO" and I signed it). On arriving at my school for registration, my school arranged I visit a TB-Certificate-check stand (as part of registration). The lady I talked with told me a TB certificate was part of the requirement for visa if one is coming from Nigeria and I argued with her it was false. So, although I didn't go with either x-ray or TB certificate, she allowed me go on with registration after I used my mildly "tuish voice" to convince and not to confuse her about her false stand (showing I'm TB-free ); and then later opened up that it was only a requirement to contain the disease and stuff. My Point? If you're planning on applying for UK visa anytime in the near future, then plan to have a TB test done (apparently, it is now a requirement as Kellyemms mentioned) but if you have your visa and you're coming to the UK (miz gene and co), then don't bother about the test but note you may be asked about it and be ready to prove it wasn't a requirement for you to get your visa. |
kellyemms: hello peeps my 28days count ended yesterday friday 3rd and i deposited little amount into my account same day too. i was suppose to fill my application on dat same friday and submit next week monday. but due to d tb issue i was unable to fill my application dat friday. i need money to pay for d tb test, my maintainance and remainin tuition is 2.5m and i av more dan dat 2.5m in my acc. can i withdraw frm it for my tb test. also my test wil hold next week tuesday, and wil fill my visa application dat same tue den go submit at d embassy on wednesday. do i stil need to deposit little amount again to my account bfore i print d statement on tuesday. or since i deposited d little amount on d 28th day which is 3rd january i should just print d statement frm d day i begin counting to next week tues.Yes, you can withdraw money from the account for your TB Test as long as you have sufficient balance equal to or greater than the required money for visa processing. The idea about depositing money before printing Bank Statement is to show beyond doubt that the required money remains in the account. So whether it is a deposit or withdrawal, just ensure there is a transaction made a day or two before you print your statement and preferably within three days of submitting your application. P.S: For the sake of others, the deposit-before-printing 'thing' is only a piece of advice to ensure you avoid any form of 'unclear' refusals associated with required money. |
Capt. JH Miller:What's the letter about? Scholarship? And is it for M.Sc or PhD studies? If it's M.Sc, PM me. |
ochukoccna: I do see your footprint on the visa application thread as you saidhehehe...Mama Charles won't look at your face o, trust me. But then, who knows? You can be given special treatment. I remember the post to which you referred that an applicant objected to. People often reject the truth as it sounds bitter. So, you shouldn't mind that fellow at all. The people on this thread will perhaps be more civil and reasonable because their environment supports civility, so I can't argue otherwise. God can't be left out of economy o, even many America's great leaders end their speeches with, "God bless America" and sometimes add, "and no place else." lol. My point is, while the economic situation of any nation largely depends on sound policies and good planning, God has His part to play especially when His own people are involved. The weather isn't so bad around here, though changes abruptly and thus highly unpredictable. |
larryshow4: Hello house, a friend needs advice on visa pickup. Her passport has been returned back to Water-Carrington and was asked to pick it up there cause there was a mix-up at d pickup point as someone she gave her slip went to edit her face and wanted to pick her passport, so she was made aware of the case and was called on. She told me she had all discussed and they told her she would pick up her passport at water-carrington as vfs does not have power to deliver her application to her no more.If she innocently gave her slip to a known person to help her collect her package (through the right process) and you're saying she has discussed with UKBA who told her to come for her package at the DHC, I don't think there is any question to ask. Let her go ahead and collect it. |
tdayof: what are the least requirement needed by a Nigerian student to study in the ukRequirement vary by the school in which you desire to attend. While some require you must have at least 2:1, some allow 2:2 to study M.Sc. While some require you have an English Test Report Form (e.g.IELTS), some won't require it. So, firstly, go online and search for which school interests you and then you'll know their requirement. |
Guzye: Guys please I was rejected an American visa in 2004 or so and I don't remember the reason cos I was a minor then... Please how do I fill my form when I get to this stage? If I were you, I would fill the form with this same information you have asked as a question, which of course is the truth. |
Sagamite: No be suya meat as long as she is not rude and exposing any ghetto black woman aggression. I don't tolerate GBWA.I don't boast of a PhD in a Psychology field of 'Womantology' but I know for sure that in psychology of human behavioral pattern studies, you DO NOT generalise. I know you know that too as you have not generalised in your earlier post, but you just weren't cautious enough to consider that lady (sweet-tease) may be an exception. |
spikes C: Ok , this part is ridiculousGo online to the oanda site on the day of your application and enter your balance converted to GBP. Print off that conversion page and submit it with your application. |
mukykaffe: wow guys thank you very much for the concern o just glanced appendix 8 and it says if ur course is more than 9months dahs wen u will have d minimum of 7200 £ in ur account if less than 9 months den u will multiply d duration of ur course by 800 £. so in d case of mine my minimum account details should be 800*8=6400 £ and I hav 7000 already.Oh, okay. This is the reason I always like people to give more information about their status before asking questions here. |
mukykaffe: am confused and dis 7000 £ has been in d account for d past 18 days now.but please if d visa ddnt work out can my tuition fee be refunded cos I hav paid all.Yes, your school will refund all your tuition paid if you couldn't resume because of visa refusal. As for the £7000 you have on the 18-day count, do you have time to add the rest of the money and count 28 days and still make visa application review time and resumption? If you don't have time, another option is accommodation. If you are getting an accommodation from school or rent, you may want to consider paying a deposit of at least £300 and submit the evidence of payment with your application so that you won't have to start counting all over again. Well, that's just my 50 kobo advice in case you want to continue with the plan. It's your choice whether you want to return to schooling in Nigeria too. All the best. |
beautyuche: Guys will it be okay to write here what my appeal will is for your vetting and advice as i have written to the school for new cas but I also want to appeal my refusalI have read your "Appeal Letter" and I have to state some facts: 1) You do not have full rights on appeal as a Tier-4 applicants (You can only appeal when you feel your rights have been infringed on issues like racism and sorts) . What you can do is fill an "Administrative Review (AR) Form" and I guess that was what you meant when you said "Appeal." 2) An AR has a resolution period within 28 days so it takes time. And according to their rules, you shouldn't even make a fresh application while you submit an AR as they'll consider you have TWO applications. (I don't know if they follow this strictly though). So, it's something you want to think deeply about especially if you have a short period of time as this. 3) Lastly, in my candid opinion, though sorry about your refusal and what you're going through, I'm not very sure you have a high chance on "winning" the review. Here's the reason: The UKBA has a standard possible sponsors (e.g. international organisations and Federal Governments) and if your sponsor is not in that category, they expect you to show YOUR bank statement or that of YOUR PARENTS which holds the required money. So, in a nut shell, your explanation didn't particularly show a chance of winning the AR. Although I'm not saying you can't win it, because I believe in miracles, favour and grace, I just want you to have an idea of what the situation looks like. Having said all that, I want you to consider your options well and if you have further questions, people here would be glad to answer. In the mean time, others may have a different view and I hope they share it too. All the best. |
ochukoccna: No mind the raincoat post jare!lol... Actually, me I'm no bookwarm o. Academics does not shake me o, when I'm no Einstein. I have been very regular on the other thread (Visa application) trying to help others too, but I don't post on this thread though I visit it regularly too. As for the cold, na indoors things o. But honestly, it's not that cold yet. From the gists I've been told, this ain't no cold until January perhaps. Coincidentally, it'll be my exams in January.... I know God exists . Don't mind the rate jare. God is bigger than Mr Exchange Rate! |
ochukoccna: Oh so you too have finally debunked that First Bank is cheaper myth and realized that its bull sh*t?My brother... As a matter of fact, all these banks and Mastercard issue can be frustrating. Imagine a payment (£2300) I ought to have made since October at #265/£ but decided to leave it till December as I researched and found out the rates are better. On making the transaction last week, the rate was #270.5 per pound. I just had to move on without regrets. Enough of the rate palava... How are you and how's studies? And the weather? I saw your funny raincoat post. |
mukykaffe: I am going to the embassy on 06th jan that is wen d account details will be 28 days and I have paid all tuition fees including accommodation. so lectures starts on 06 but the school said 20th jan is the latest. am confused I don't know whether I can make it.This is my personal opinion: If you have made all payments, then I think it's worth the risk. Ensure you prepare your application well (with no mistake). Make sure your CAS states the latest start date and ensure the expected money has been in the account for 28 days. I advice you submit it in Abuja. There's a high chance you may get your processed passport before 10th Jan. If you believe in prayers, pray too. By the way, hope you didn't pay your accommodation fees in full? I hope you didn't pay more than £1000 as that is the maximum amount UKBA requires you to pay. |
spikes C: hi guys, i want to pay my fees tomorrow. do u guys know d current rates now. i have firstbank and gtb mastercards. ThanksI don't know the current rate but don't even think twice: USE FIRST BANK. It's rate is far cheaper than GTB. spikes C: Used firstbank to make a part payment today, 273 miz Gene: I found out d rate u get is controlled by d card issuer (Mastercard) not d bank. So whether 1st or GT bank, rate is gon b same.To say the least, I am surprised. Firstly, other people reported here that FirstBank offers lower rates (you can check earlier posts). Secondly, a friend of mine in Nigeria also confirmed FB's rate as #252/£ on Dec 19. And I had used my GTB Mastercard last week and had to use a rate of #270.5/£ over a £2300 transaction. So, to say the least, I am made to believe GTB was getting it wrong somewhere. But now that Miz Gene found out it may be Mastercard (as quoted above), then that theory may have explained it. So I just took the initiative to call GTB and they confirmed that Mastercard decides the rate. So, without doubt, same will be for FirstBank Mastercard. spikes C, I'm sorry about the misinformation earlier. |

royalsweetness: Awww, thank you for taking your time to do this. You've been extremely helpfulYou're welcome. |
mrsincredible: 1) piss any were they see. cos you have a manhood and can stand b4 urinating doesnt mean you have have to liter the place with urineAlways try to remember never to generalize until you're sure you can. Use "Some Guys" next time...after all, you haven't met ALL Guys. |
bunburized: Thanks dear. Do you have any suggestions where I can get a good winter jacket and shoe in Lag? I am having problems thinking of a place I can get them. I am betting on the fact that someone may have given a suggestion here in the past or you got yours in Nigeria before travelling. You know you're a lady and it is almost natural to expect your baggage to over-exceed allowance so it may be difficult to say what's important. Many food stuffs are available here in the UK so don't take too much of what you can get here. You can bring these: 1) Very dried fish that is extremely sealed 2) A few packs of noodles for the first two weeks 3) Ground pepper (if you'll need it) and your preferred seasoning cubes as you may not like the one here 4) Garri and beans (but not rice). Ensure these food items are well sealed because if their dog sniff your fish, na to confiscate am o . As for money-in-hand while traveling. You can take any amount (though you'll declare any amount over $10,000 or so) but for safety reasons, I believe any amount between £600-£1000 will suffice (except you plan to pay for accommodation or something else on arrival). You can open a bank account in 2-5 days when you get here, depending on the bank. You may choose to have the rest of your money in your Nigerian account and when you get to the UK, withdraw from the ATM and deposit in your UK bank account. |
royalsweetness: Please give me a link to their site, google is bringing out so many sites. I chose BA bcuz they have the option of flying to Aberdeen, how do I find other not too expensive airlines that go to Aberdeen.BA site: http://www.britishairways.com/travel/home/public/en_ng ----------Fly to London then connect you to aberdeen Lufthansa site: http://www.lufthansa.com/ng/en/Homepage -------------Fly you to Frankfurt, Germany then take you to Aberdeen Emirates site: http://www.emirates.com/ng/english/index.aspx -----------Fly you to Dubai then take you to Birmingham and finally to Aberdeen. Emirates is cheapest but it takes longer time. Just enter your search criteria on the three sites and analyze the options as against your priority amongst cost, flight duration, baggage allowance and time. |
xteeeee: The exchange rate this days is becoming too high oo, pounds malam told me 280 while dollar 172, pls who has an idea of how to get F currency for less. Secondly hope @ PoE no extra question than the basic one I shld expect... I need help on this thanksPounds/Naira has been very high lately. Try out any cool Bureau De Change and compare with mallam. POE questions vary. You may only be asked about TB history or any other health issues in your family. Also, you may be asked about where you will stay in the UK and they may ask about how much money you have. They may also not ask anything other than give you a small form to fill and for you to confirm your purpose of coming to the UK. |
kellyemms: is it possible to change my bank account first nameIf you want to change your bank account first name, you must go to the bank with a Change of Name document and present an ID bearing the new name. As for your question on the affidavit. To be honest, I don't know much about those things. But as long as it is genuine with appropriate seals/stamps, then I believe it should be fine. |
kellyemms: nope don oms! plz help me by answering d questionI'll quote my reply to you on Nov 26th. ********************************* kellyemms: thanks so much bro.. U mean wen i get d affidavit i should tender it for visa application instead of d birth certificate right?Did your dad do a change of name? If he did, I believe all you need is the original document of proof of his Change of Name and the birth certificate. If he didn't do a Change of Name, then your other option is the Sworn Affidavit that he is your father which typically replaces a Birth Certificate. |
kellyemms: my father bank account name is odewale taiye. odewale is our surname and taiye is my father first name. but in my birth certificate his name was written as odewale taiwo. can i use my birth certificate like dat for my visa application? But this question has been answered sometime ago, isn't it? |
