I think we the southerner are getting what we deserve, why do we always pull down our own , take the case of Fashola, Amechi, Fayemi, Onu etc, this guys are close to buhari and they have a good chance of making its kitchen cabinet, but what did we do, we pull them down because of internal politics, take a look at the north , when it comes to appointments they don't not care about PDP or APC , they support themselves and they don't expose there negative sides, even when we know that they are also very corrupt.

So In summary I think the north are more Politically sensible than the south so lets leave baba alone to chose who he want to work with, once they perform, me am fine, after all we've been hearing about Fashola and Co, it will be difficult for baba to choose any of them if he does, it will be difficult for him to fight corruption and Nigeria we suffer for it.
Well said, North are really politically united than any other region. No matter what happened, it will be hard for a northerner to betray each other.

Until we unite, we can't move forward.

PoliticsAmaechi Shuns Wike’s Judicial Panel As EFCC Begins Probe by DONSMITH123(op): 9:34am On Aug 28, 2015
Former Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi has refused to appear before the judicial commission of inquiry probing his administration’s sale of valued public assets.

Amaechi’s government had spent over N33.9 billion from the initial N50 billion earmarked for the entire phase one of the controversial monorail project.

The original scope of the monorail project is 21.7 kilometers and valued at Two hundred and fifty million Euros (€250m).

The commission had invited Amaechi to come and explain his role in the contract and other related allegations.

The Integrity Group, a Port Harcourt-based good governance association, had on July 29, 2015, wrote to the anti-graft agency, detailing three instances of alleged corruption and abuse of office under Amaechi’s government.

But Amaechi yesterday failed to appear before the Justice George Omereji-led commission of inquiry sitting in Port Harcourt.

He also did not send a legal representative.

A Port Harcourt High Court had last week dismissed Amaechi’s suit seeking to stop the commission from investigating his administration.

During her appearance, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Mrs. Stella Ebere-Wigwe, disclosed that over N33.9 billion has been expended on the monorail project so far.

She explained that the state had earlier paid N11 billion to TSI Property and Investments Holdings Limited, which had eight per cent equity in the monorail deal, but the company later backed out as it could not fulfill its financial commitment after it had built about 2.6 kilometers of the project.

“”On Jan 15, 2010, the Rivers State government paid N11bn into Rivers State Moniraik Account at First Bank with account number: 2030012306, representing 20 per cent of the state’ s equity representation. The Rivers State Monorail account was to be managed solely by TSI,” she said.

She disclosed that besides a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, between the state and TSI, there was no legal agreement between the parties in the event of a disagreement or breach of contractual terms. According to her, available records show that TSI did not pay any money into the monorail account at First Bank, implying that all the money spent so far on the project is from the state coffers.

She explained that Amaechi’s administration later paid additional N22 billion to another company, ARGUS GIBBS, which is at present working on the project.

According to her, the state government invited ARGUS GIBB into the monorail project after the MoU with TSI failed. ARGUS GIBBS was contracted at a cost of N660 million for its services and paid N36.3m monthly to evaluate and assess the activities of TSI.

However, the Head of Safety and Aviation Department in the state Ministry of Transport, Saya Antiok, said two companies were initially involved in the race to partner with the Rivers State government on the project. TSI represented by retired Brig-Gen. Anthony Ukpo and URBANAUDE, an American firm, but TSI was given the nod by the governor.

“The people from TSI said then that the N11bn was a GAP-DOWN payment. I have never heard of that term before. They explained that it was for feasibility study and technical development. It became very clear to some of us at the ministry that the N11bn paid upfront by the state government was to enable TSI put a structure on ground with which it will showcase to attract foreign investment for the project.

“It is now obvious that TSI had no intention of investing its own funds into the monorail project, yet it had 80 per cent equity in the build, operate and transfer monorail project.”

Antiok disclosed that engineers in the ministry were sidelined as there was so much secrecy about the monorail project.

On July 21, 2010, foundation laying ceremony for the monorail took place at UTC Bus Stop, Port Harcourt.

In the petition, The Integrity Group alleged that Rivers State electric power projects were sold and the proceeds converted to other uses, through payments, amounting to N60 billion, to three companies all located at the same address in Trans Amadi, Port Harcourt.

The petitioners alleged that the transfers, made in US Dollars, occurred within a space of one week, between 1st December 2014, and 8th December, 2014.

It also alleged that the proposed Karibi Whyte Specialist Hospital Port Harcourt was a failed contract, which cost N4.63 billion in what the petitioners described as questionable circumstances.

In the third allegation, the group stated that Amaechi appointed a firm of tax consultants, who were given a relatively exorbitant fee of 12 per cent of taxes collected, on a much lower monthly collection target of N2.5 billion, just as the Rivers State Internal Revenue Service was raking in about N7.5 billion monthly at 5 per cent administrative cost, as prescribed by law. The consultants are said to have collected over N1.5 billion in fees within weeks of their being engaged by Amaechi’s government.

In three separate letters headlined, “Investigation Activities,” and dated 13th August, 2015, the EFCC swung into a detailed probe, asking for information.

All three letters by the EFCC were signed by Olufunke Adetayo-Ogunbode, Head, Economic Governance.

Two of the letters were addressed to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Port Harcourt, in respect of the sale of the state power projects as well as Clinoriv Specialist Hospital and Leisure Limited, which was engaged to construct the still-born Karibi Whyte Specialist Hospital.

No I don't. I personally believe ALL POLITICIANS ARE A$$HOLES. And that includes PMB.
But I voted him ahead of the "jesu of otueke" on the ground of performance.
I voted PMB to reduce corruption and stop insurgents.
But he seems to be over-delivering already!
BH that was bold in engaging the Nigerian army are now suddenly on the back foot.
To make thing even better, He just approved 65 private refineries in addition to the clean-up order of Ogoni land.

I did not vote PMB to make Fashola or any Yoruba man a minister or to give my tribe men appointment.
I voted PMB to reduce the waste created by the corrupt PDP gov. and bring peace to our land.
Every other thing is just an icing on the cake.

LET PMB CHOOSE HIS TEAM FROM ONE VILLAGE IF HE LIKE ------PAT UTOMI

Let's tell ourselves the truth.

If you were Buhari, will you trust Onu, Ngige and Amaechi? A set of people that stood against their own people's opinion, if they had no problem betraying and standing with an outsider against one of their own and their people's candidate, imagine what they will do to you, an outsider, when you become powerless.

I fully understand why Buhari would stay as far away from the likes of Onu, Ngige, Okorocha and Amaechi, but there are many apolitical Igbo technocrats out there that he could have chosen, that's my grudge with him.

Either way, I am perfectly happy how Igbo elites are being sidelined by Buhari. Most of them are pro Nigerian because of the goodies they get from Nigeria, now the goodies has been blocked, let's see how pro Nigerian they can remain.

As for us the Igbo commoners in the streets and markets of Igbo and Nigerian town and cities , Biafra will remain our only solution to the Nigerian problem.
to my own candid opinion, i think Buhari left Ameachi out of the position due to the issue of corruption allegations around him.

More condemnations have continued to trail Thursday’s appointment of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, among other positions, by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Ohanaeze Youth Council had in a statement on Thursday accused President Buhari of demonstrating deep hatred for Ndigbo.

Speaking on a similar note, the President of Njiko Igbo Forum, Rev. Okechukwu Obioha called on the President to lead by example in his anti-corruption crusade.

Okechukwu, who described injustice and neglect as other worst cases of corruption, called on Ndigbo to begin a period of sober-reflection.

He said, “we received with shock, sadness, bewilderment and disappointment the news of the appointment of the SGF by President Buhari.

“Knowing that the SGF position was the only major position left, every Nigerian has believed it should go to an Igbo man, in particular Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, who has been consistent both in his support for the APC and President Buhari in all his campaigns.”

“We are asking Ndigbo to be calm, peaceful, and as wise as serpent”, he further stated, adding that “President Buhari, as an anti-corruption czar, should be aware that injustice and neglect are part of corrupt tendencies; corruption is not only when money is involved.”

The Forum advised Ndigbo that as they keep watching the political developments, they should be united, regardless of party affiliations; it calls for unity of purpose and sober reflection.”

He added that “we ask Dr. Onu to resign and retire back from politics as honour to his name.

“We slam the national chairman of the APC, who said not long ago that democratic tenet is government of the people, by the people and for the people. We know that Ndibo are part of the people, so, considering the appointments made so far, it does not show democracy in action.”
