I fondly hope and fervently pray that one day, EVERY Nigerian, would get US visa and won't even jubilate. Then we won't have to pray, fast or share testimonies about it. What is a Visa afterall? A pass to go see, do business, live , work or study at another part of God's earth.

It is ranked higher than ''even your leeds"
Ok sir! I'm neither for Leeds nor Coventry. But in the final analysis, we are all at liberty to use the scholarship for whatever school we choose.

Let me say this here to probably encourage someone. Last week, I received an e-mail from a Professor in a UK University. I applied for admission there and surprisingly I was admitted. The school is quite difficult to get into. I hoped to get funding as they received generous funding from their alumni. I couldn't get. The Professor's e-mail was straight to the point 'I am contacting you because you're on of the few students joining the xxxxx research group, of which I'm the leader. Are you enrolling this October ?'

No funds to pay for a minimum of three years school fees. Besides, I am one of those who believes a good PhD should be funded. I told him I would love to but funding is the issue. He arranged a Skype meeting with me which turned out to be an interview. On the said day, he and another Professor were present. It was a firing section. Lol. Those kind of simple questions that you believe you are supposed to know but you don't have a direct answer. One of the questions - Why are horinzontal axis wind turbines usually white in colour ?
Without thinking, I said for visibility. Lol. It turned out to be nearly correct.

The pseudo-interview ended and the Professor told me to expect an update in 24 hours. In summary, I have received a fully funded PhD offer (With some conditions which are okay ).
Brethren, never give up. My interview with PTDF didn't go well. The panel obviously didn't like my area of renewable energy (And I wasn't ready to change It before the interview either.). Surprisingly, everything has worked together for good. It is still like a dream to me. I wish everyone good luck with the expected outcome from PTDF. Don't give up even if things don't go as planned.

(Please pardon any errors in my post)
I congratulate you on your fully funded PhD. It's not a mean feat. Your diligence, persistence and God's favour has paved way for you. I tap into your testimony. God bless.

No doubt. Should even be in top 100 globally but still hands out admit in a week just as Coventry that's not even in top 500. But in my humble opinion, any potential PTDF scholar who doesn't have an admission by now is not fit for the scholarship.

@all. Apply to top schools in UK or US for your MSc. Don't b lazy. Admission is pretty fast in some of dis top schools in d UK.

Apart from d competitive edge in d UK, u can get job opportunities too all over d world. e.g if u are a graduate in some engineering discipline in top schools in UK, u can get work visa in Australia scheme.

If your university is in d top 200 in d world, u are eligible to go to Holland to go to look for or work there about a year. If you get a high skilled job, u could b retained.

Further more, you can easily get full PhD scholarships in Asia and Middle east schools.

@all. try to come back home after your studies and give back to Nigeria. Help the poor/needy with your finance. Or help give advice or teach selflessly what u have learnt while looking for job. The sustainability of this scholarship depends on your output.

After this, if u see no breakthrough, then u can execute your plan B. Ensure you graduate with at least Merit in your institution. Don't disgrace Nigeria.
Well said, albeit sententiously. I believe those who disgrace Nigeria are the backdoor scholars. And we may have some this year too. I hope they are reading this thread.

And get an offer letter within 48hrs or less.

You have up until August 25.

You can Call this number 013428034 for help.

Same applies for other scholarships. AGIP
NDDC and other indigenous state scholarships. And for next year too.

Admission can also be deferred.

Tell a friend. You can be used by God to bless someone.

My friend and her husband will never forget me for this simple information.

Dear Flexisaf

For this CBT to be considered fair, I think the hounourable thing to do is to cancel those foreign English words questions totaling about 30. All the major contoversies surrounding this test revolve round those questions. My honest opinion.
I disagree, albeit your honest opinion. The words are advanced vocabularies and there is nothing foreign about them. The major controversy is the alleged leakage of questions and technical issues as per subject tests. But I think its rather late. The list should be finalized by now awaiting publication.

owing to the facts that some candidates had about 5 or more questions missing in their chosen subject, will computing the scores based on top scorers among states, be feasible? or will it be based on performance on a particular subject area, since its a relative issue. what do you guys think? cos one thing is clear, those missing questions would not be given as a bonus mark as it would affect other participants.
What option did you write?

Hello everyone!
please can anyone give me names of schools that accept second class lower in the united state for masters in business programs.
I don't think US schools really look at grades in terms of class but in GPA, courses taken and sometimes what your final year grades are.

I suggest you use WES website free of charge to convert your Nigerian GPA to 4.0 scale of US and see what your possibiliies are.

With relevant experience, extracuricular/community service, watertight SOP, outstanding LORs, and excellent GRE/GMAT scores, success is but assured.

Seriously? You mean you've not been preparing? I don't wanna belief so. Good luck!

Hello House,

I am new here but i have seen some relevant information from this thread. I have applied for Msc Computer Engineering at Iowa state University (Spring 2018) and i indicated interest in funding (TA and RA) during the application. My GRE score is 315.
I however would like to get some useful tips on securing funding while waiting for my admission status with the grad school.

Thanks
What's the breakdown of your GRE score?

Usually, scholarships depend on your overall profile; GRE, GPA, SOP, LOR, work experience, extracurricular, teaching or research experience. And usually you don't have to apply for them, your application doubles for consideration for financial aid.

Also, you might apply to safer schools whose GRE requirements are way lower than 315. Then your chances may be higher for financial aid.

How you ever wondered why true Christians and pastors are not bothered with your vilifications? It's nothing new, in fact its a prophecy!

here:

Matt. 5. 10-12

"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake,
For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.

“Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you."

I'm out.

Muslims don't pay tithe and offerings to enrich individuals. There are rather advice to give arms (Sadaqa) and zakat directly to the needy.

Some are poor and some are comfortable, I've done my research and not a single CLERIC is super rich with one or two private jet. Been a Muslim cleric do not make them a head of money making institution, rather, a spiritual head and a guardian.
Then stick to your religion if it serves you well and stop discrediting others'.

Those paying tithes and offering in Christianity are not complaining. They know why they do so. (Study Kings Solomon's life, the widow of Zarephat and even John D. Rockefeller and what giving meant to them). There are many 'Christians' who don't give and yet they are out to criticize.
Fact is, it's not compulsory, and if you feel your pastor is fake, change your congregation. Period.

And who says they are "paying" to enrich anybody? Obviously your knowledge of this subject is limited.

While there are some fake "pastors" out there who prey, there are also fake Alfas who are nothing but ritualists. So let Christians deal with their doctrine while you stay on your chosen lane. Meanwhile have you resolved the issues of Almajiris? Do those ones pay Tithes and Offering too?

Church is not our problem. It is however a problem. All these tithes and offerings and all other rubbish people give in church can be used for better things in the society
Tithes and offerings are willing contributions made by MEMBERS of the Church of God for the advancement of God's Kingdom here on earth.

Yet, we all pay compulsory donations to the govt in form of tax regardless of your religion, and how has that affected the society?

Those that go to mosque also contribute to advance their course, even Atheists are sponsored by some people.

You are just a deluded fellow set out to traduce the body of Christ. Deal with this thorn in your flesh before it tears you apart.

Me- they have low students ratio majoring in exercise science. (VO CUTS IN)

VO- Why is that important to you?

Me- it's provide an opportunity for an intensive individualized academy program for students, making students have the best use of their academy skills and time management's. Also, BGSU involve undergraduates students in research programs.( Vo was nodding).

Vo- Why exercise science?

Me- it's suits my career path to being an athlete trainer and also I will like to know more about using human movements, sports and leisure to benefits human lives and improve well being.

Vo- do you write any exams?

Me- yes I have 2 SAT scores. 830 and 1150.

Sorry to hear about your denial. I can imagine how terrible you would feel.

I too will be applying for the F1 visa soon but as someone who has a B1/B2 visa, I can share my experience with you. But I won't talk about what you said cos others have aired their views on that but on HOW you said it and how you appeared. The truth is, someone else can run that same script through and could still get the visa approved. But I wasnt there so I can't judge your performance. But see below from my experience;

Tips.

1. I ensured what I said corresonded to what I put in my DS 160 form.

2. I walked to the counter with panache and didn't even say "madam". I just waited till the lady spoke to me first. And I responded accordingly. They don't care about "respect" or greetings.

3. I didn't appear nervous. I maintained eye contact with her as I spoke. My answers didnt sound rehearsed but spontaneous.

4. I didn't appear desperate. I just did like I didn't give a $h?t.

5. They are psychologists and if they sense you are nervous or fidgeting or sweaty or quivering your voice, or looking down or away, no matter what you say, they may feel you have something to hide.

6. VOs are humans. When she asked 'how are you', I responded, "I'm fine, thanks and you?".

7. Since you've been denied 2ce, I would suggest you dont attempt to change any facts in your profile. Maybe work only on how you can sound more convincing and how to deliver your answers confidently.

All the best next time.
