As soon as possible can be September
It won't be a problem. I can move my resumption date to Spring starting in January. I'm not in a hurry to travel. I'm in communication with my school and they empathize with me. The fact is, getting funding is no longer easy the world over. I just need this scholarship to be assured I won't be stranded in a foreign land, and it's better late than never. All is well.

But the list of successful candidates would be available as soon as possible

40 small na and that question was about stress and moment
omo even the numerical aint the same I didn' t see any pie chart in the numerical (I would have preferred pie chart instead of a table of targeted income and expenditures)
I dont think geology guys will complain I heard one of their guys saying it was perfect
as for mechanical na dem sabi how dem go give me two masses on two inclined planes, six unknowns and then tell me to find one of the unknown however I now know what a collimator and coaxing is.
sha as we dey wait anybody wey receive call make him testify, God bless us all
Based on what you said, it means mechanical didn't answer all same questions. I didn't see two bodies on inclined planes but I saw the one on autocollimator and thank God i guessed that right. Some strange formulas self dey from production engineering. Na real wah.

The Numerical Part was a big Bleep up. I have been writing Aptitude Tests since primary school, but this there Numerical is just not of standard.

Since they no that they won't give us calculator, then they shouldn't test our accuracy. How will you give options like 29.56 & 29.55 huh

The examiner should have been able to focus more on speed (by giving similar fractions).

May God help us
I think say na only me see the option choices o. As I see options requiring accuracy up to 0.01, I run leave that table go start from back. Just no cool at all. Questions that don't require calculators have simpler numbers and answer choices spaced out.

I wrote Mechanical and while most of the questions were mechanically inclined, it wasn't all that rosy.

That's small compared to Michigan or MIT in US. Both were listed on PTDF site as approved schools. Those two schools gulp above $50,000 annually for a two year Master's. God have mercy.

From ojota, take a bus to oshodi and stop at ilupeju park in oshodi under bridge... From there a bike will take you to the center for#100
[qwuote author=Vecharry post=58458343]ojota to jkk? ideas
That would be counterproductive....

From Ojota, take any bus passing Anthony such as Ojuelegba, Fadeyi/Palmgroove, Yaba Oyingbo, etc and tell the Bus Conductor to stop you at JKK building or closest bus stop. If he cant stop there, stop at palmgrove and walk straight down to JKK building by your right. If you choose to take to take Oshodi bus, drop at Anthony also and walk straight down to JKK building....You will see Deloitte building in that proximity and a pedestrian bridge, walk pass till you get to JKK

How to get to the venue from mile 2... Anybody please
I don't know if this is the faster route:

From Mile 2, take Costain, from Costain take Ikeja or Ketu/Ojota and stop at Anthony. Cross the pedestrian bridge to the other side and trek back facing Palmgroove. JKK building is to your right.

Alternative route:

From Mile 2 to Oshodi. From Oshodi underbridge, take Ilupeju/Obanikoro bus. Ask for directions to JKK house or take bike. You would need to leave home very early tho.

If any persons know of any alternative routes please say.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/07/ptdf-screens-eligible-candidates-nationwide/amp/

ABUJA-The Petroleum Technology Development Fund, PTDF, has screened candidates who had earlier applied and qualified for the Fund’s scholarship programme nationwide.

The screening exercise which took place at various centers across the country simultaneously had students from various units of the oil and gas discipline.

The Executive Secretary of PTDF, Dr Bello Gusau who monitored the exercise in the Abuja and Kaduna Zones explained that the Fund was targeting 1,700 candidates at the Abuja centre and 4,500 nationwide.

In his words, the examinations took place simultaneously in all the centers, noting that the results would be communicated later, in order for candidates to learn of their fate as quickly as possible.

He said: “This exam is essentially for masters’ programme so they must all have a first degree and must be in the relevant field that is related to the oil and gas sector. These are the basic qualifications for writing this exam.

“In our selection we put the federal character into consideration; that is why we have other centers across the nation and the federal character commission is represented at this interview and all other centers in the country’’.

Gusau explained that the screening of scholars was for both overseas and local programmes as the fund has recently been working towards domesticating its capacity building programme.

His words: “Even though the fund is trying to phase out overseas scholarship, it is still on because you can’t just stop abruptly. There has to be some kind of periodic checks to frequently directing the figures from foreign universities to Nigerian universities.

“As you can see quite a number of the beneficiaries of PTDF capacity building programme are working in the oil and gas sector. A large number are also in the university system, like a kind of train the trainer programme whereby we equip the universities to handle more and more people who are interested in working and acquiring skills for the sector.

“ What we do essentially to improve the scholarship programme is to ensure that based on our own skills gap analysis, we understand where we have deficit in the oil and gas sector and we concentrate on those areas of deficit. As the sector is growing, new demands for skills are also growing, so we keep tracking and monitoring that and we tailor our capacity development programme to meet such demands.’’ he added.

In the same vein, the Federal Character Commission (FCC) expressed satisfaction with the enumeration process carried out by the Fund.

Commission representative and Chairman, Committee on Petroleum Resources, Mamman Alakayi, who monitored the exercise, said federal character compliance, would level playing ground for each candidate who has applied and to also allow all qualified candidates to participate.

“I was part of the short listing process and the federal character played a role from the onset. It is a rule of federal character that they should advertise and that was done; the advert is allowed to run for six weeks to give every interested candidate time to apply.
In all these, I'm more than a conqueror. OSS all the way! My case is different!

Hello guys, Flesaf, have anyone see this news feeds from dailitrust regarding the idea of stopping overseas scholarships by the PTDF? It is now very clear from the PTDF boss himself:
The Executive Secretary, Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF), Dr Bello Gusau, says the National College for Petroleum Studies, Kaduna would soon become operational.

Gusau said this while answering questions from journalists on Saturday in Kaduna after inspecting the conduct of examination for the PTDF scholarship scheme.

The examination was conducted across the six geopolitical zones for candidates who applied to undertake Masters degrees in various courses related to the Oil and Gas sector.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that work on the college, awarded at over N15 billion in 2009, was to be completed within within two years.

NAN reports that eight years after, the project still remains uncompleted.

The Executive Secretary, however, assured that the project was at its final stage and “the institute would be operational sooner than later.”

The college is designed to run advanced professional courses for oil and gas workers in the ECOWAS sub region.

Gusau said also that the PTDF had met with Vice Chancellors of 40 Federal Universities offering courses relating to Oil and Gas, so as to redirect its overseas scholarship award to local institutions.

The official said substantial number of applicants taking the 2017/2018 PTDF scholarship test would be admitted in Nigerian Universities already running courses in oil and gas related areas.

NAN reports that 4,949 shortlisted candidates sat for the examination nationwide.

The executive secretary assured that innovations had been introduced to ensure transparency and integrity of the process.

NAN reports that no fewer than 500 candidates with significant number of women sat for the test in Kaduna centre, under the supervision of officials of the Federal Character Commission. (NAN)

Say they choose 4 per state plus the FCT for the OSS, that would amount to just 148 out of the 4949 that wrote the test, so it's still correct to say that substantial number of the applicants will be absorbed in local schools.
