The question is what do they want.
What do u expect? The Nigerian strength is their human resources and man power, if this was not the 22 centuary I would have said they are looking recast the slave trade era but then anything they do intend to do would not just help but would benefit American companies.

Family › Re: Should A Married Man Dish His Soup In The Presence Of His Wife? by drnoel: 9:47am On Jun 29, 2013
Shakslayer: Recently, i travelled to the East to visit an old course mate of mine from the University. He just got married and i decided to felicitate with him.

Sadly, what was meant to be a happy reunion for us guys, turned to be a dispute resolution for me.

My friend and i just came back from a long outing, tired and very hungry. As we entered the house, his lovely wife was in the kitchen preparing fufu, she has made the fufu, set it on a plate and was about getting the liquid hand-wash (morning fresh), my friend who couldn't wait any longer, decided to get the soup himself. He grabbed a bowl, went straight to the pot, opened it and was about dishing his soup, when his wife, in 2 giant but quick strides, backed up by a loud and long hiss, grabbed the spoon from him and made to dish the soup.

My friend was so shocked and embarrassed that he quietly walked off the kitchen, into his car and drove off without a word. I spent the best part of the night trying to resolve the dispute that ensued. And what a dispute it was!

So, i ask, what is wrong in a married man dishing his soup in the presence of his wife? For me, i see nothing wrong here.

The floor is open.
lol the couple obvious want to fight over something as irrelevant as that. Or may be its a female thing cos i've seen something similar to that but then it depends of how the man of the house handles and compots himself. Also, since they had a visitor the wife should have held her irritation till u leave

norahvivi: i will like to go straight to the point cause i need your advice right now more than ever.
I have this man that has been helping me out financially and he has been begging me to have a child for him that he will send me to any country to have my child.
Although he has children with his wife but he said he want more children which the wife refused to give him. I have been insisting we use protection, but he always insist on skin to skin.
Recently i noticed that i missed my period, so when i told him he gave me money for the test and said if it is positive i should DECIDE WHAT TO DO AND LET HIM KNOW. On my own side i don't really want to commit any sin by abortion cause my only brother who is married for the past 10yrs is childless and I'm thinking if i can have this child for my brother/family.
Secondly my fiancee who is a pastor, wants us to get married before the end of the year.
Please what should i do should?
Do I explain things to him or just do things my way i.e relocating to somewhere else to have this child including abandoning my education and work?
please i need your advice.
please advice and not insult.
Funny enof u said u don't want to commit any sin but the whole time u have been commiting adultary with a married man, u have been opening ya nyash 4 anoda woman's husband.
Then u come here to say no one should insult u. Look there is no way people won't insult u 4 doing what u did. They will first insult u b4 they advice u so get used to that.
About what u should do, just know that ur fiance would most likely push u away. So u would still have to fall back on that ur married man but then he is married so remember that if u break his home then get ready 4 kama. I would say u do the right thing. Ur brother that wants a child should now be blessed with one. Give birth 2 the child 4 ur broda.

Whale sharks eat plankton so the man riding on its back is safe, as for white sharks they are not dangerous and won't usual attack unless if u scare them with vigorous movement or bright light. The one that shocks me is this anaconda one cos snakes would usually attack, sometimes even if they just feed.
Politics › FG Starts Scrapping, Merging Of Agencies And Parastatals by drnoel(op): 1:28pm On Jun 27, 2013
Any moment from now, the Federal Government will begin the rationalisation of commissions, parastatals and agencies as recommended by the Steven Oronsaye led presidential committee.

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday rounded off deliberations on the draft white paper on the said report which is now before the secretariat for proper clean-up and action, as well as publication of the document.

Information Minister who gave the hint while briefing State House Correspondents after FEC meeting yesterday noted while some agencies will be scrapped, other agencies and departments with duplicating functions are to be either merged or be made to be more effective and result oriented.

Accordingly, he said FEC proceeded to constitute two separate committees chaired both by the Minister of National Planning, Dr. Usman Shamshudeen to look at the re-alignment of research agencies and institutes particularly those under the ministry of science and technology in order to make them more effective and profitable to the country.

Noting that there are about 22 research institutes under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Maku said, "There are so many research agencies under the ministry of science and technology and when u look at the agencies, some of the functions they perform could indeed be coordinated by universities, council believes that research must utilize our universities and also research must be linked to the private sector.

"So we agreed that there is a need to rationalize some of the agencies and also see which of those research agencies could be better placed under the auspices of existing Universities to perform better.

"We also believe that research that is disconnected from industry does not produce reports, so we believe research centres should also concentrate on new ideas, new technologies, new researches, the application of result of research also should be driven by industry and in order for this to come to fruition, council set up a council committee which is to be chaired by the minister of national planning to again look at the section of the report that has to do with research agencies, institutes and research centres spread across the country.

"The idea is to bring a report that will rationalise them and ensure that they become more effective and that they are driven by results and the results of the research they undertake are also utilized by industry or get commercialized for the benefit of the country".

Stressing that there too much river basins, Maku said records showed that there are about 11 River Basin Development Authorities, RBDAs, in the country including Upper Benue Basin, the Lake Chad Basin, Benin-Owena Basin, Sokoto-Rima Basin, Sokoto; Hadejia-Jemaâare Basin, Kano; Maiduguri; the , Yola; the Lower Benue Basin, Makurdi and the Cross River Basin, Calabar, Oshun-Ogun Basin, Abeokuta. Anambra-Imo Basin, Owerri; the Niger Basin, Ilorin; and Niger Delta Basin, Port Harcourt.

The minister said, "We need to align our water policies which are driven by the ministry of water resources with the new agricultural transformation agenda, there will be room in the future for greater participation of the private sector of the private sector in the utilization of the various river basins to drive mechanised agriculture. We want to ensure that there is private sector participation".

He said the committee will also look at the possibility of making the National Theatre, Lagos more commercial valuable to government, adding that government is expected to provide additional infrastructure at the edifice to make it a tourist's attraction for the country.

Maku also said the committee will also look into changing the use of the nation's River Basin Authorities for commercial purposes particularly now that government is working towards commercial agriculture

When a follower of the Christian Domestic Discipline movement decides what to hit his God-fearing wife with, research is important. A hairbrush, for example, is "excellent for achieving the desired sting" but can break easily. Alternatively, a ping pong paddle is quiet and sturdy but may not sting as much as is required to get the message across.

These bits of information are among the tips and tricks detailed in the Beginning Domestic Discipline's "Beginner's Packet," a 54-page document that lays out the basic principles and practices of CDD.

The packet's writers describe the movement as follows: Domestic discipline is the practice between two consenting life partners in which the head of the household (HoH) takes he necessary measures to achieve a healthy relationship dynamic; the necessary measure to create a healthy home environmental and the necessary measures to protect all members of the family from dangerous or detrimental outcomes by punishing the contributing, and thus unwanted, behaviors for the greater good of the family.
CDD is a lifestyle in which spanking and other punishments (loss of privileges, time outs, etc.) are used to maintain an orderly, Christian household, according to christiandomesticdiscipline.com. The man is dominant, and the wife is submissive, as detailed in the Bible, the site explains.

These explanations are at odds with what some outsiders might dismiss as an offshoot of the BDSM community, in which spanking and other punishments are used erotically as a way to achieve sexual satisfaction. But as the private Yahoo! group Christian Domestic Discipline notes, "This is not a typical "spank" site. We are NOT a dating service, a list for personal ads, bratting, erotic stories, or alternate lifestyles."

While CDD community forums and sites have existed for years, the community was recently thrust into the spotlight following a piece in the Daily Beast. The article, which estimates there are several thousand CDD adherents, includes interviews with Chelsea and Clint, the authors of the Beginning Domestic Discipline "Beginner's Packet."

Clint and Chelsea (as well as the testimonies of other couples found on CDD forums) appear to portray CDD as a positive lifestyle choice made between consenting adults. XOJane blogger Laura Rubino, too, notes that during her own investigation of the community, most posts from the women are positive.

"Many of them report feeling extremely calm and relaxed after being disciplined, and believe it is an expression of their husband caring about them and their marriage, enough to help them modify their behaviour," Rubino writes. "After the spanking, they are granted a clean slate. They don’t need to endure the days of tension and shittiness that can follow an argument unresolved through discipline."
However, Rubino is not without grave reservations (as is Jezebel's Callie Beusman), and the Daily Beast uncovered evidence that some women feel trapped and even frightened by what their home life has become.

“No fool in his right mind would buy this as a legitimate way to have a relationship,” Jim Alsdurf, a forensic psychologist who is an expert on Christian domestic abuse, told the Daily Beast. “A relationship that infantilizes a woman is one that clearly draws a more pathological group of people.”

The community's stated basis in Christianity is also murky, according to some.
Bryan Fischer, a controversial conservative Christian radio host, has claimed in the past that the Bible teaches Christians that men are the breadwinners and heads of the household, but when reached by The Huffington Post, Fischer dismissed any connection between the Bible and the basic principles of CDD.

"This is a horrifying trend -- bizarre, twisted, unbiblical and un-Christian," Fischer, a former pastor, said in an email. "Christian husbands are taught to lay down their lives for their wives (Ephesians 5:25) and to treat them with honor as fellow-heirs of the gift of eternal life (1 Peter 3:7)."

"God in the New Testament clearly asks wives to arrange themselves under the leadership of their husbands (in Greek, the word “submit” means “to arrange under”)," Fischer continued. "But there is no place where husbands are instructed to make their wives do it or punish them if they don’t."

Crime › House-help, Lover, others Arrested For Robbery In Lagos by drnoel(op): 9:31am On Jun 23, 2013
Operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja, Lagos have arrested a female house-help who allegedly connived with her boyfriend and two fake soldiers to rob her master of over 100,000 Dollars.

The 23 year-old house help, Adaeze Ijeoma, allegedly sneaked into her master’s bedroom located in Maryland, Lagos, last month, after he traveled out of the country. Unsure of where to keep the foreign currency, she reportedly took it to her boyfriend, one Onyebuchi Uche, only for him to flee with the money, leaving Adaeze in doubt.

On his part, Onyebuchi , who has been jobless for years, rushed to Alade market, Ikeja where he changed some of the dollars to naira and thereafter, deposited the sum of N8 million in two banks. He thereafter, told operatives at SARS that he also bought a car; ‘End of Discussion’ and a plot of land in an undisclosed area where he had started molding blocks for building.
Determined to get her own share of the loot from him, betrayed Adaeze was said to have confided with one of her relatives identified simply as Nnamdi to help retrieve the money from her estranged lover.

Nnamdi and two other persons clad in Military camouflage reportedly stormed Maryland last week where on spotting Onyebuchi, bundled him inside his new vehicle and took him to a hotel in Mende area of Lagos, where they reportedly tortured him and forced him to disclose where he kept the money. They reportedly managed to get the sum of N6.5 million from two separate banks where Onyebuchi kept the money, including the new car he bought.

However, just when Adaeze was contemplating on what to do with her own share of the recovered loot, an eight man robbery gang reportedly stormed her master’s home, where an unspecified amount including his phones and other valuables were carted away.
The robbery case was reported at SARS after which Adaeze and two other persons were arrested. Although she denied having a hand in the recent robbery, she however, disclosed her role in the theft of 100,000 Dollars.

In this interview with Crime Guard, she said: “I am from Akri village in Ogbaru Local Government area of Anambra State. I left the village in 2010, after my secondary school education in search of greener pastures in Lagos, where I started working as a house-help for Chief Uche and was paid the sum of N10,000 monthly. I lived in the same apartment with chief and to be honest to him, he has treated me as a member of the family.

“I met my boyfriend Onyebuchi after being lonely for a while in 2011. I was tempted to steal my boss’s money and gave it to my boyfriend to keep so that we can start our own life. I gave him because he promised he would marry me. I stole the money so that we can, at least, get a lease of life when married. I believed he would use it wisely because he has always had plans for the future.

“But I began suspecting foul play after he stopped picking my calls. When I went to where he lives in Mende, I was told he usually came home late. Later, those who know us told me he started driving a car. That was when I contacted my uncle, Nnamdi to help retrieve the money from him. On the day, he was to go with his two soldier friends, I waited at Mende for Onyebuchi and when I sighted him, I pointed him to them and left for home immediately. After he was tortured, he called me on the phone that he was sick and when I went to see him, he said some robbers stole the money from him and even battered him to stupor.

“I swear, I do not know anything about the other robbery operation in the house. The robbers came armed and forced me to take them round the house. They only got some money in the guest room and took my master’s Black berry phone, his gold wrist watch and other things. They also took my phone but left it at the backyard. I did what I did out of love for my boyfriend, not knowing he would betray me. Now he has fled, leaving me to bear the consequences alone, without having a taste of the money, “she stated in tears.

On his part, Nnamdi claimed he was once a military personnel but resigned on his return from a foreign mission where he got the sum of N2 million. Surprisingly, Nnamdi was discovered to be an in-law to Chief Uche. “I am from Akaokwa village, in Ideato North Local Government area, Imo State and the complainant is married to my father’s sister. I used to sleep in their house any time I came to Lagos to sell palm oil and at times, I spent one month.

“When Adaeze told me about the money, I threatened I was going to tell her boss. But on second thought, I thought if I got the money, I could use it to enrich myself. I then contacted Chima, my friend who is now at large. It was Chima who contacted a soldier who initially gave his name as Corporal Humphrey. It was later we discovered he was a dismissed soldier. We lodged at Tropicana Hotel in Mende Maryland, where we took Onyebuchi to. I was in full Army uniform while Ajaghe, my other friend, was wearing a camouflage cap, pretending to be soldiers.

“We tied him to a ceiling fan and beat him in order to force him to tell us where he kept the money. We seized his car. And ordered him to transfer the N2.4 million he said was in First Bank and N5.5 million in Fidelity bank to my account for easy withdrawal. We used ATM card to withdraw the money for one week from one of the banks while we withdrew the rest from separate branches of the other bank. At the end, I gave Onyebuchi’s car to Chima to keep and N500,000 to Ajaghe , while I kept the rest, with the hope of giving some to Adaeze and keeping the rest”, he said, adding that he knew nothing about the robbery operation at Chief Uche’s apartment.
The Commander, SARS, Mr. Abba Kyari, said the suspects would be charged to court while efforts were still on to get arrested other fleeing members of the gang.
