In the world today many are carrying sex on their head, some will even go as far as sleeping with hundred's of men or women, why the world have made sex as a second food that nourishes the body as many claims and there are those who don't even care about those things, i hate some things but the one i hate most is to see men's sexual organ it irritates me more than any other thing in world, not to talk of coming close to touch me with it, left for me i have no reason why i should have sex with a man if not for child birth.

In my short time here as a member ( though been here as a guest since 2015) I observed that the guys here are easily irritated and get provoked at the slightest opportunity. I mean...I feel its uncalled for especially as this is a faceless forum.

I grew up knowing guys to be very discreet but these days especially in this forum, guys talk recklessly and gossip a lot too. They also dont mind their business.
Is it a comradeship thing here or what? An identity? Hmm....

I also observed non of the members live in Ikoyi, VI, and nice places one can easily relate with...guess I joined the wrong forum after all. Reason I feel like a square peg in a round hole like one in an entirely different circle of people. Hmmm...

If you come at me with your usual rantings, I won't be surprised.
U are seeking attention right? Don't worry people that give shit will notice u soon.

hooha:
Dealing with seductive spirit is good for a lady suffering from the crisis of people eager to sleep with her, but never wanting to date her. Some ladies go through this issue, and it could be heartbreaking at the later stage of their life; when they are set to marry, and all what guys want from them is sex.

I don't even mean sex while dating, which is wrong, but I mean people wanting to sleep with you alone and never wishing or wanting to date you. So no matter how you cook, dress, even dress decently, behave nicely, and so on, every guy or most guys see you as someone that will be sweet in bed. It is indeed terrible!!.

I will advise such ladies to pray and fast against the spirit of seduction in them. This kind of fasting may be for 7 days, with reading of the Bible and much prayers.
This one is here to perpetrate confusion and misconceptions. Pls continue, God is watching u.

TravelRe: Dubai Tram: Why Don't We Have This Mode Of Public Transport In Nigeria? (Photos) by drnoel: 3:33pm On Dec 12, 2019
AutoJoshNG:
In Dubai, one of the most fascinating features in public transportation is the Dubai Tram. The Dubai Tram is an essential part of Dubai transport network.

Generally, Trams are one of the safest modes of public transport in the world.

What exactly is a Tram?

A tram is similar to a train in many ways. It runs on a railway-like line called a tramway. Just like trains, it consist of a series of coaches/carriages/vehicles. Trams usually run from a tramway to a railway line. It can also be modified to have the speed of a train.

The Dubai Tramway

The Dubai Tram is a tramway located in Al Sufouh. The tram service links Dubai Metro and the Palm Monorail and runs along Al Sufouh Road and Jumeirah Beach Road. It provides access to destinations such as the Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Lake Towers.

The tram runs for 14.5 kilometres (9.0 mi) along Al Sufouh Road from Dubai Marina to the Palm Jumeirah and Al Sufouh. It takes about 42 minutes to run from Al Sufouh to Jumeirah Beach residences.

In Dubai, to board and ride in a tram, you would need to pay with a Nol card. You can purchase one at any of the tram or Metro stations. A Nol Card can be used by passengers to check-in and check-out of the tram by scanning (tapping) the card at the platform screen doors.

The Tram has a fixed fare of AED 3 (N300) per ride, regardless of the distance travelled. But if you're paying for a ticket with cash,  you would have to pay at a premium.

The trams run every 10 minutes during peak hours and 12 minutes at all other times. A trip along the entire route takes about 40 minutes.

Dubai Tram is fully automated. It provides a vast number of features and services for the convenience of the users. For instance, it is air-conditioned; it has Wi-Fi access throughout its network. It also has a complete mobile phone network. There is also dedicated Tram police to enforce rules.

So, if you’re visiting Dubai, and you plan to stay in Al Sufouh, Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeira, etc., you might need to use the Tram.

The Roads and Transport Authority, commonly known as RTA, a major independent government roads & transportation authority in Dubai coordinates the function of the Dubai Tram.

Autojosh.com takes you to the beautiful city of Dubai, to show you some photos of the fascinating Tram.

Now, why don't we have such mode of mass transit in major Nigerian cities?

First of all, I thought you said you have never been to USA, thats apart, is it now enough to discourage people from furthering their education abroad or will I say Germany simply because your wife didnt get help around the house?
Am only going to quote this portion cos I want to react to it specifically; yes it's possible to hire any nanny to look after Ur child but we weren't looking for any nanny. The money to pay the nanny was not the problem but rather the nanny itself (one can't be too careful).
In some cases but only when one pays tax and has a good health insurance one could even get the health insurance to pay for the nanny if one can prove that one is incapacitated to do so (that by the way was the situation we found ourselves then).

The other comments u made like the government raising one about 180 to 200 per child only goes so far and really doesn't cover much or any of the expenses one runs with ones children. Children are expensive in Germany but I see now what entices u to the country. Money is not everything.
The people suffering I mentioned earlier was yes mostly illegals but I also know and met students who ran out of funds and had stress keeping body and soul together.

Like I said, Ur life Ur decision. Let noone discourage u otherwise. My intention wasn't to discourage but to give other perspective to the discussion.
Cheers!!

Are you hoping for me to rethink my plans or what? I am really pissed off when people claim to know it all even knowing the future as if they are God. I hate that post with passion and you should learn how to be constructive and mature in your posts. That abroad didn't work for you doesn't mean it won't work for others. You really need to have an open mind
I didn't mean any disrespect by my statement but that statement remains true and I won't be changing it or withdrawing it.
The statement embodies many experiences I have had along the way, seeing Nigerian and how they live and suffer.
Some years back my general manager (wifey) was looking for a help around the house but it was not easy to get here, something that one may have easily gotten in US, UK or Naija.
We were finally pushed to speak with Nigerians, men when u hear their stories u'd weep. It's esp difficult in a country that is getting hostile to foreigners. We had to respect ourselves and re-evaluate our strategy. I went off work and did the house help stuff myself,....lol.

I admire Ur spirit and rightful so, it's within Ur right to want success for urself. Pls don't let anyone take that spirit from u, fight for what u feel is right.
But remember this, not everyone is entitled to travel out or entitled to leave and work abroad. Me am living my dream so live urs.

Not everybody can live Nigeria nor will everybody. Best thing is to focus on your life in Nigeria, if the opportunity to move abroad comes along and it logically seems beneficial (not all this nonsense rants by youths that have little to offer in the 1st place), then go for it. Bad idea IMO to make your sole goal in life to move outside Nigeria, setting yourself up for disappointment.
Thank you. U have hit the nail on the head better than I would have. Ur comment sums it all up beautifully.

The most common are Family Physicians, followed by Psychiatrists, then O&G and Internists.
What I have realised is that the ones not family Physicians would likely have practiced in South Africa, UK or Ireland before coming to Canada.
The family physicians from Nigeria all had to take regulatory exams. I am not sure about the ones from Europe or SA.
Nice to know. Can one find out about the ones from SA or Europe? I mean can one find out if they had to take the board before working in their fields and how long it took them before they had it all done? One needs to plan ahead and am curious about this cos my little cousins have started the process and I need to know how long it could take me if and when I decide it's time for me to apply if I so choose.

Of course not all that glitter is gold but leaving this hell legally is a dream come through looking at how the country is going from bad to worse.

Majority of the people that leave is not because of going to acquire riches but it's because of good standard of living. A place where things work. However, the op is doing pretty well.

He has even started learning the language all of these just to integrate well into the system. I never see the op not doing fine after his schooling. He will surely be invaluable once he is done.
Yes I actually never said it was wrong or right to leave Nigeria. I only said for now it looks all glittery (we were all there) but that glitter always fades and one sees the realities of living abroad. Those realities come and they help one open his/her eyes.
The boy the OP of this post is still young so he has time on his hands and for that am glad.
There are also many Nigerians that are seeing shit right now, living in poverty in Europe and America, legal or illegal.
As always the best route to use is schooling and for that I commend the OP but pls let noone come and tell us here it's best to leave the country. On that one I don't completely agree.

Yea, it's me Basalt and I always don't wanna paint words. I am a graduate of Geology from UNN (with over 4point GP).
I received much discouraging advice especially from my relatives in America and even my friends telling me that since I have a high GP and still young I should continue applying for jobs in Nigeria because Abroad is no longer what it used to be. I was listening to their lies and applying to non existing jobs for complete 2YRS.
Out of all those applications, I was able to secure only private school jobs which paid less than 30,000 with lots of stress on my life. After 2years of frustration and earning like a rat, I came back to my senses.

I sold everything I had, borrowed money from my elder sister's husband (God bless them for me) and entered Germany last month on student visa because to me, all die na die (even if I perish in Germany I will perish happily than continue crying in silence in Nigeria)

On getting here mehn, the first thing I regreted was not leaving Nigeria earlier. I blamed myself for listening to their lies and discouragement all these while thats why I deem it important to open this thread and pray Moderator pushes it to the front page because I know there are many people receiving such discouragement as we speak.
within three weeks of comming here, I have a part-time job that pays me 13.5 euros per hour (I work for 80hrs per month) in addition to that, I have one mini job that pays me 445 euros per month.

My accommodation is 350 Euros per month and my living expenses are about 150 Euros a month or highest 200 if I spend heavily.
In addition to that, I have access to a world-class education for almost free and stand a better chance of getting a professional job after my masters and you know what that means?
Now do the Maths and tell me how it is not better than less than 30,000 Naira which I was earning in Nigeria before leaving?

Some people will say I am lucky but honestly, I am yet to see any student in Germany die of hunger here unless he is lazy.
I repeat, NEVER you listen to anyone telling you to remain in Nigeria UNLESS you are earning fat salary in Nigeria, even the so-called politicians send their children here.
There are other side's to a coin. The situation u find urself now is really not better than where u were apart from the fact that u are now being educated in Germany but give it time. Ur eyes will open soon enough and u'd have to rethink Ur plans.
God bless!!

Pros: Easier for PR if you are an international student, diversified economy, decent average wages for professionals (only Alberta is higher), cuisines is oyinbo food, but there are Nigerian food stores scattered across the province, Good number of Nigerian trained doctors and other professionals, less populated, cheap phone plans and car insurance, decent cost of rent or property etc

Cons: Bitterly cold-comparable to Manitoba and Edmonton & up, Mosquitoes in summer, diversity not as much as Ontario or BC, could be boring, no real international airport like the one in Calgary, Vancouver or Toronto, lowest minimum wage in Canada, Infrastructures not as nice as say BC or Ontario.

Moved here from Calgary, Alberta after the world Oil glut seriously affected Alberta's economy. Had a chance to move elsewhere like BC or return to Alberta, but the family loves it here than Alberta, so this is home now. Love Sask - Land of the living skies.

However, you will get you more response and views on the existing Living in Canada thread.
This portion picked my interest (The Nigerian trained doctors).
What are their specs? Are they specialists? Did they have to take the board in their respective fields?

HealthRe: My Experience At Apata General Hospital Ibadan by drnoel: 1:55pm On Dec 05, 2019
heldworld:
I was weak, tired and sick altogether, left my home as as early as 8pm on Monday morning, with the mindset of beating the traffic congestion to the closest general hospital at a far distance from my home - Apata General Hospital, Ibadan.
I knew with the kind of health complaints i had, i would need a test conducted on me, "well, i need a doctor's recommendation on that first", i said to myself. So i decided to see the doctor first.
Entering the Hospital, i have to get my file first,
"Hello, good morning, this is my card i need to see the doctor"
"is this your first time here?" a female voice from the record room
"No, although it has been a while i came here", i replied
"okay, you'll have to pay to the account dept first"
"alright, kindly show me the account dept" i requested.
She pointed in the direction and i went there, paid 200 naira and collected a receipt, then back to the record room.
"have your seat I'll attend to you" she said.
Okay, after about 15 minutes she requested both the card and the receipt then returned both after tearing a part of the receipt and using my card to find my file. I was then told to sit on a queue and wait for my name to be called by the doctor, it was almost 10:00am.

I have got about 6 patients before me, it wasn't a big deal until i had to wait and move closer to the consultation room on the seat until i heard the doctor call my name 2:10pm.
Is this how people get attended to here? I thought my suffering was over, not knowing I've just seen season one.
I explained the symptoms of my illness to the doctor and he recommended i have a blood test first.

Getting to the laboratory department, they said they can no longer obtain a sample for the day and I will have to come back the following day. I asked if it was possible that the sample is drawn and i can just come for the result the following morning. I was told that is not possible. I will have to come back to give the sample 8:00am the following day.
I was left with no choice, so i had to go back 8:00am on Tuesday
"Hi. I was told to come back this morning for a medical test"
I handed her the leaflet from the doctor.
"okay, it's 1500 naira, and you'll have to purchase a glove and a needle from the pharmacy"
I quickly did that,
"here is the glove and the needle", i said.
"okay, have your seat while we obtain your blood sample" - she replied.
The blood sample was obtained and i was told to come back 12 noon for the result.
Chai! will i have to waste half of a whole day here again?
The lab attendant saw the look on my face and told me -
"just hang-around and come back around that time".
Had to wait around and went back for my result 12 noon.
"Hi, am back for my result" - i said
"have your seat, it will soon be ready" - she replied
So, this result isn't even ready at 12 noon.
The test result was finally issued after 45 more minutes.
Dashed again to the Records room, explained and got my card to the doctor's office within 30more minutes. And that was almost 1:30pm.
Those on the queue for the day were already tired and lamenting the queue wasnt moving at all.

There were two doctors inside, one that attended to me the previous day and another doctor.
After some minutes the doctor that attended to me the previous day left and there was just one doctor in the consultation room.
"Why are you standing there?" - He asked
"I need to see a doctor sir" - i replied
"i have been here yesterday and was told by the doctor to go for a medical test, so am back with the result" - i further explained
"when was the test conducted?" - he asked
"the sample was taken 8:00am today and I was told to come for the result 12:00 noon, i just collected the test result, that's why i am here to see the doctor now sir" - i explained again
"they couldn't have said that, if you have been here earlier you would have been attended to" - he said
"but that was what i was told" - i replied
"You think those on the seats are fools?, i will make sure no one attends to you today, what is your name and give me your file"
i gave him my file and he immediately kept the file under some of the books on his table
"Go and stand outside, no one will attend to you today" - he screamed.
I had to just leave the premises in annoyance, frustration and unattended-to after all the sufferings.

If this is what has become of our medical care system, am afraid we are sitting on a time bomb because there are infections, diseases and sicknesses that are killing patients under the skin quietly and require urgent attention else the patient dies a quick painful death. Are these the hands we have on deck? Our Governors need to act fast! We never can tell who would be next in this kind of experience, our families, friends, colleagues, considering not everyone can be so buoyant to afford a private clinic and not everyone is so strong to withstand this in sickness.
I am speechless!!!!
Is this what u guys see in Nigeria? ....but really, it's horrible a d difficult to believe.
Most of us also worked in Nigeria so am actually surprised to see this write up. With all due respect, I doubt it has degradated to this.

The medical profession stresses the idea of selflessness and human sympathy in dealing with patients, that is baseline.
When we still worked in naija, I remember in such similar cases as u described. We would normally rush through the patients by taking complete history and physical examinations which should normally not last beyond 10 to 15 mins per patient and send them out for labs cos the laboratories don't work after 12 noon.
The idea was to weed out those patients that may return to lab results after 12 noon from those that one could quickly prescribe something for and send them home.
I mean, I don't understand have to see 6 patients in 4 hours like the OP described. How can that be?
The centre I worked we had a load of over 30 to 80 patients a day depending on what day of the week it was so what are we talking about here.

I am speechless!!

I see u and @Johnnyblaze are the IELTS expert. Some of my little cousins are interested in that exam. Could one suggest what books one could buy to scale through?
