The Nigerian Government on Thursday urged the United States of America to consider the long standing relationship between the two countries and reverse its visa restrictions on the country.

Ministry of Interior Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, made the call on Thursday, when the American Ambassador to Nigeria, Mary Leonard, and her team paid him a visit in Abuja.

Aregebsola said Nigeria had complied with most of the issues of concern raised by America, adding that Nigeria is not a pariah nation.

The minister said the cooperation with the U.S. would solve Immigration and Consular issues in control of persons seeking to enter both countries through issuance of visa, passport and other travel documents.

According to Aregbesola , Nigeria should be commended rather than sanctioned owing to relationship with America.

He further appealed to the U.S. to review its Visa Validity to Nigerians from two years limit to at least five years

He also urged U.S. to establish a third office in Nigeria in reciprocity with the country which has establishments in Atlanta, New York and Washington D.C.

Aregebsola emphasised the need for both countries to strengthen the Security Governance Initiative between his Ministry and American Embassy through proper enlightenment and awareness creation.

The minister added that the relationship between both nations must be mutually beneficial.

He gave assurance that the President Muhammadu Buhari Administration was not only committed to ensuring internal security and citizenship integrity of Nigerians and foreigners alike, but also to the fight against terrorism and transnational crimes and criminalities.

‘’We are positive that visa restriction is a temporary one, it will soon be put behind us.

“President Muhammadu Buhari would commission the Nigeria Immigration Data Technology Centre before the end of the year 2020, as part of the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring that her data is linked with security agencies globally.”

Earlier, the envoy said her team was in the Ministry to share ideas on possible ways of addressing Information sharing gap between the two nation.

Leonard added that America had a very broad collaboration with Nigeria, which covers immigration, safety issues and security.

The envoy gave assurance of her country’s determination to continue to collaborate with Nigeria, so as to further strengthen their relationship.

A video (length: 54 minutes 43 seconds) with the title “International Community Gets Tough on the Supreme Court of Nigeria” has in the past week been making the rounds on the social media.

A national newspaper even published a story on 14 February based on the video, which it titled: “Ihedioha: National Press Club Proposes Visa Ban on Supreme Court Justices.”

According to the said newspaper: “The National Press Club has proposed a list of punitive measures against the justices of the Supreme Court over its decision on the Imo State governorship appeal that removed Hon. Emeka Ihedioha as the tate (sic). The club, which is the world’s largest professional organisation for journalists, berated the apex court for delivering what they described as a flagrant fraudulent judgment. It warned that the judgment if not reversed could lead to more sanction against the judiciary, which is supposed to be the last hope of Nigeria.”

What are the facts?

The National Press Club of America, listed an event for 5 February 2020, by a group which described itself as the “US Council on Nigeria” as a “news conference” on “The Nigerian Judiciary and the Imo State Election Crisis Symposium on the Collapse of Democracy.”

This name and the number match that of one “mortgage consultant” (in picture) based in the State of Maryland in the United States of America. Appearing on Facebook as Hon. Zoobee R Chukwurah, he had promoted the event on 2 February on his wall as “Breaking News” “designed to draw global attention to the crisis in Nigeria’s judiciary sparked by a contentious judgement of the Supreme Court mid January that resulted in the sacking of Mr. Emeka Ihedioha, an elected governor of Imo State, in the South-East of the country.” The post attracted only one comment by someone who sought permission to share. On 31 January, he also posted the Event Schedule as it appears on the website of The National Press Club (press.org). He was the moderator of the event at The National Press Club.

This is the other person listed on the Event Schedule as Media Contact. He is the one reported by TheCable in April 2019 as the one described in a letter to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar by Bruce Fein of the lobbying firm, Fein & DelValle PLLC, as the former’s “trusted confident” who would assist in the Situation Room the firm was creating in its offices to secure the US endorsement of Atiku’s efforts to defeat what it called “flagrant violence and irregularities orchestrated” by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Buhari to compromise the presidential election.” In the said video, he is the one in light brown suit and light blue shirt and tie donning a fur felt hat. As it were, Bruce Fein and his partner, W Bruce DelValle, are the other two persons listed in the Event Schedule.

At the event, Ukwu described Fein as the keynote speaker. The other speakers, apart from Ukwu, were DelValle and two other Nigerians based in the US: Steve Onye and Edward Oparaoji.



Fein, an attorney, is a known friend of the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and has levelled accusations of genocide against the Buhari administration in the past.

There are seven different videos of varying durations of the event posted to YouTube by one Joachim Ugwu on 13 February 2020. In the one dubbed “Segment #1” Ugwu states what the event was all about: “To amplify and elucidate and explain basically what is happening in Nigeria in respect of the judgment of the Supreme Court of Nigeria which on 14 January annulled the election of Hon Emeka Ikedioha as governor of Imo State (and) bring (it) to the attention of the international community.”

Fein advanced the possibility of the US Government invoking the Global Magnitsky Human Rights Accountability Act of 2016 “which allows the U.S. government to sanction foreign government officials implicated in human rights abuses anywhere in the world.” According to him the Nigerian supreme court justices who gave the judgment and even the “compromised” entire institution of the apex court should be the target of such sanctions. Another speaker, in another video, suggested the inclusion of the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party.

In the video dubbed Segment #4, Chukwurah summed up what the organisers believed the event would achieve: “The gentlemen that have spoken, they have spoken so loud, so well, and because I know where they come from and what they stand for here in America and that they stand with Nigeria at all times, I know (and) can tell you one thing: that someone out there is listening and listening fast. And based on what I have heard, there is nothing like letting the sleeping dog lie; because the sleeping dog has been lying. It is time to wake up the sleeping dog. Certain flagrant mistakes have been made, in fact and in law.Based on what I have heard from these legal luminaries…I know that some people will eventually take their steps back and begin to do the right thing….”

And as Fein states (in the main video): “The more that is written about this,the more it rises to the surface….Justice is won by persistence….We shouldn’t under-estimate the voice of the United States.”

In short, Fein and DelValle are simply doing what “they know how to do best” — to quote Chukwurah: lobbying

Anyway if memory serves me well the bill was about 90 K and after all said and done we had to only pay about 30 K but we gave the good Samaritan PHCN guy who informed us it was possible and helped us run the stuff about 10 K but only out of gratitude.

I'll try to keep my predicament short. I registered a new account for this purpose but I'm sure many of you will understand that sterility is not something to be announced which is exactly how I got myself in this situation. I am 35 and engaged to a beautiful woman who completes me in every way. As much as it hurts me to say this, I have not been totally honest with her about everything.
Just yesterday while we were home together, she told me that she is pregnant . I asked her how sure she is, she said she had done the pee test and that she knows how she is feeling. The issue here is that I am sterile but I have not told her this before so it is impossible that I am responsible.

Please before anyone tells me I deserve this for not opening up to her, I have been undergoing treatment secretly and they say I will be able to father children when it's done so of course, I am hopeful and have not bothered to inform her about any of this. I can't stand losing her for any reason. My issue right now is that I asked my endocrinologist this morning if it's possible that the treatment is already working and he said we have not gone far enough to see any results yet. This means I am definitely not the father of the child she is carrying.

Only one other person in this world knows about my health challenge and that is my cousin. I told him and he told me to break up with my fiancée, someone I have already done introduction with and families are involved. I told him I cannot and that he must take the secret to the grave, he thinks I am making the biggest mistake of my life.

2. Gentlemen Vs Mr Nice Guys
Alpha males are polite, nice to others, respectful but respects themselves and aren't doormat; Alpha male will never allow anyone treat him like second fiddle no matter what. An Alpha male priories his own well-being, irrespective, he genuinely care about the needs of the people in his life and want the best for others. He does this not do this for validation, to gain attention or to be praised by people around him, he simply does it because it is the right thing to do. When an Alpha male doesn't agree with you, he tells you.

Beta males on the other hand may be nice, courteous etc, but they don't prioritise themselves. They are doormat, Yes-man. They are nice because they need the validation and they agree to a fault because they want to maintain the "Mr Nice Guy" tag.

3. Beta Males Are Bitchy, Alpha males Accepts or Change A Situation:
Alpha males takes responsibility for their lives. Once anything happens in their lives, an Alpha male seeks to do something about it. If an Alpha male finds his partner with another man, he takes action- whether to breakup with her or any other action. An Alpha male makes decision for himself; whether relationship, career or whatever.

But Beta males always look at someone to pass blame on. They don't take responsibility, they bitch over it. A Beta male will find his partner in an unpleasant situation with another man, he runs to his pastor, family or social media to bitch about it... Seeking their help to take action because "he doesn't want to act irrationally". He's a weak man! Simple!!!

4. Genuine Connection Vs validation
An Alpha male always seek genuine connection and friendship with their partners and people around them. They have no time for fake relationship. Alpha males don't seek anybody's validation to feel good. They are true to themselves.

Beta males are pretenders. They desire validation of their partners, friends and society to feel good about themselves. They are fake towards themselves and others around them because they suppress their true feelings for external validation.

5. Alpha males trust themselves to make decisions for their lives, Beta males follow popular opinion.

An alpha male may consult others before making decision, he evaluates the response he gets, and compare with what he had always wanted to do. If he still believe that his desires is the best for him ahead of popular opinion, he follows his mind, makes his decision and swim or sink with it without blaming others.

Beta males consults with people, he may or may not evaluate responses, but he follows popular opinion even if it doesn't tally what he really wants because of his conformist character. He is always ready to blame others should his decision not turn out the way he wishes.
