Politics › Re: Senate To Remove Immunity For President, Governors, Deputies by drnoel: 1:57pm On Dec 29, 2016
EdoNation:
The Senate has commenced the process of amending section 308 of the 1999 Constitution which gives immunity to president, vice president, governors and deputy governors in the country.

A bill sponsored by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege (LP, Delta) on the immunity removal has been referred to the Senate Committee on Constitution amendment chaired by the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, Daily Trust reports.

The bill proposed the substitution of subsection 308(2) which reads “the provisions of subsection (1) of this section shall not apply to civil proceedings against a person to whom this section applies in his official capacity or to civil or criminal proceedings in which such a person is only a nominal party”, with a new section.

The proposed amendment reads, “the provisions of subsection (1) of this section shall not apply to, (a) ‘civil proceedings against a person to whom this section applies in his official capacity or to civil or criminal proceedings in which such a person is only a nominal party’.

It (b) part reads, “criminal proceedings connected to, related to or arising from economic and financial crimes”.

It’s sponsor, Omo-Agege said like in the US, the president and the VP, governors and their deputies should only be immune from civil actions arising from their official actions while in office.

“They are not entitled to immunity from litigation for actions not germane to their work. For example a president or governor who buys a car for a child and refuses to pay can be taken to court while in office,” he said.

“Also like in the US, there should be no immunity from criminal investigation or prosecution for crimes committed either before or while in office.

“Recall that Mr. Spiro Agnew while a sitting VP under President Nixon was tried and convicted for tax evasion while in office. Bill Clinton as a sitting president was hauled before a grand jury by Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr for perjury (lying under oath) while in office as president.

“Finally, Elliot Spitzer as a sitting governor of New York was tried and convicted for illicit solicitation for sex”, he added.

The sponsor believe that if the amendment is passed, there will be sanity, transparency and accountability in the Executive Arm of government, especially “Treatment of our state resources which most of them currently treat as slush funds”.

@drnoel but u didn't pay for her food na when u guys did lunch together.

That in itself my friend is the bad guy's paroz. That's exactly how bad guyz roll.

And also ur approach was totally different. It is exactly what HARDDON and others have repeated said from the very first page of this thread. U didn't ask her out but yet u were able to shine her Congo repeatedly.

U my friend is the baddest guy in town, who sees himself as a nice guy....
Still the paradox there is what I am against as regards what Hardone ia saying and that is the that there is a manual on how to handle women and that being nice to them is wrong as hardone states.
To handle women and keep appealing to their sense of reasoning one has to be different from the last guys she met, one has to out think her next move, one has to be an enigma that she cant phantom. One can keeping being all these and still be nice to them. Thats my point.

''That I said, ''You must be one of his wicked supporters'' was a presumption statement as used. I'm not saying you are his supporter per se. However, whether you are apolitical or not is not the cruise of the matter here. How could you have ascribed to him such nasty quote in a very relatively poorly constructed language, while at the same time vouch to supportively stand with him against his critics on the subject matter you raised.
I put it to you that you lied. That quote is not from him.
I laugh @ the relatively poor constructed language. I wanst trying to be wole shoyinka or chimamanda. U have a real complex that makes u attack people for no reason. Look inwards at urself, its there d answers u seek will be revealed.

Nice guys stinks

They are slow and repulsive

They always finish last (that explains why u later got a pussy that has been demolished over time)

In fact nice guys always end up with overly used kitty cats...
Guy it was a pussy I myself rejected cos I never went after ladies that do too much shakara. Its not like I didn't have my own serious runz but the story I told u guys was that of all my side runz. The one of my main runz, I will tell at another time. When I tell the story it will demystify women, make u understand that they are not hard to get weather u are nice or bad. U only need to play ur game well.
On another thought, let me give u the story of Nkechi.
Met her while working in Owerri. She was a very pretty girl who liked dating these yahoo boys. She was materialistic to the core.
I returned home one time to hear my cousin's (I was staying with them then) talking about her. Before then I hadn't noticed her at all. Anyway we met at a club some weeks later and she rebuffed one of the guys I walked in with calling him a small boy. My group were very angry and they all swore vengeance on her. So the game was on.
They all tried her one by one but no one was able to bed her. These guys were not new to the game and they had as at that time much more resources than I did, most of them had be hustling for ages, had business here and there and had been working for years. I on my part was just a starter, fresh out if uni then and had just gotten a job but was still finding my feet hence my squatting with them.
They tried everything thing, gifts, money and what not but still never went to first base with her. They insulted me when I told them they were going about it wrongly.
Anyway, I allowed them make fool of themselves playing at alpha males.
When I got into the picture was one time I drove my jalopy to a pharmacy to collect a prescription cos I had malaria. I had just paid and didnt pay attention to a couple sitting at a restaurant close by until I heard my name called. I turned to see who called me and it was her. I didn't know she even knew my name. We exchanged pleasantries and I moved on.

Then met her at a bank months later and we chatted like old friends. She invited herself to lunch with me when she heard I was going to eat. She was surprised when I didn't pay for her, she later told me suspected that I was that kind of person and I thought that was where it would end but it didn't.
It was when she started telling me all the things she did with my cousins and how they were wasting their monies with her that I knew this one was a done deal.
I told my cousins to back down which they did on the gentleman agreement that I passed her back to them when I was done.
She told me she just wanted to be friends and had a boyfriend but she slept in my room many nights and ate my food. Anyway na play play I carry 4k am. I noticed she went to sleep everyday without panties and I said "wtf". That was when I knew this girl was a devil. This was like 3 months into getting to know her. The first time I touched her she slapped me and walked out of the house around 2 am thinking I would come looking for her. I allowed her deceive herself till she returned around 4am. After then she started wearing panties to sleep. I just consoled myself and didnt let that dissuade me.
Anyhow I devised a means to start playing rough and dumbble games with her whenever we were indoors. Initially she was so self conscious ans kept fighting me off but after a while she started also enjoying the game and expecting it. It was with that play I sucked her first, fingered her for the first time and 4ked her. After I had 4ked her, I continued 4king her. The tricky part now was how to pass her over to my cousins which I did by telling them all her secrets. I had guilty conscience doing that but I knew she was no good girl so that settled it for me. One of my cousins got her drunk and started hittng her on the side when I was not around, another used another means. Anyway by that time I had found a new catch so I moved out of their house and her outa my life.
Nice guys rock.

SUCK.
Ur own opinion. Won't go listing all the girls I got down with cos its too childish. But will say this, in school I was called "little angel" by most of the girls. I got the nickname cos I was the shoulder they cried on whenever they broke up with their boyfriends. Believe me, they didn't only cry on my shoulder.
There was one that told me and I quote "my friends tell me u are better at it tha their boyfriends and I have been hoping fate will give me an opportunity to try it out".
Another one that played hard to get then in school and refused to allow me 4k her so I allowed her go. After she broke up with her cult boyfriend she lied to the guy that I had been 4king her. It made me a target then in school till I had to sort it out with those boys. Anyway, met her years ago, she was now working in one bank. She was so surprised to see me. I asked her what it was she eas playing at then and she said and I quote "u stauchly refused to pursue me so I wanted to ginger u up to the chase but u just settled it with those guys". I asked her, "are u married or engaged now and she answered she was not so I told her I would bed her now since I missed it then and I did. Being a nice guy rocks.

Family › Re: Help Needed...intertribal Marriage! by drnoel:
1Alex4u:
I am Igbo and married to a yoruba lady 3yrs now with no child. We moved to California USA about 2 yrs ago.

My wife can be lovely sometimes and a dare devil at other times!

My first issue with my wife is her mouth. It is as saucy and abusive as a completely illetrate woman under a abusive spell. She can 'curse' anytime...anywhere...and she can say anything even when we in public. I have cautioned, begged and even fought severally with her to express my dislike for abuses but she wouldn't just stop. We returned home
for xmas and we had a slight argument, next thing she gave me a very chilli curse in the presence of my siblings. Everyone kept mute and watched her in complete disbelief and suprise!!. I felt extremely embarassed. My elder bro had to callme aside and ask...is this first time she is doing this or is this what u have been covering up and enduring?
Pleas advice me ....what is the best way to curb this abusive habit frm my wife...is this generally a Yoruba habit or is it just with her??

Now the other issue i have with my wife is suspected unwilligness to accept and integrate into the igbo culture.

It started about few months after our wedding. We had a slight argument and then my younger sister called and greeted me in igbo. After i dropped the call, my wife pounced at me and told me never ever to speak igbo in the house if i wanted peace to rein. I couldn't believe my ears. You see, sometimes i dont blame men that raise their hands on a woman coz these are the kind of situations that can result to one. I had never been this provoked all my life like i was when she made that statement. I still wonder how she didny receive atleast 2 hot slaps that moment. We had a very big argument that day and kept malice for weeks. I kept late night and even smoked/drunk for the first time in my life.

Also, while in the usa... i noticed wheenever i mentioned travelling to my village to see extended relations, she will flair up and find one way or another to prevent us frm going. I had issues booking the flight tickets and she kept saying its God trying to
prevent us from going. When i finally succeeded in booking the flight, she called her mum to inform her that i was booking a trip to the village against her wish and i should be held responsible for whatever happens to her. She even at one point said any ritual fashioned against her will not prosper. See me see whalala
oo....!!
Although her dad had big issues with his relations and he moved to the city where he bought a house and stayed as his new abode and raised all his kids to acknowledge this new abode in the city as their home. So they were never close to any of her paternal relations. Infact none of her paternal relations came for our wedding to my greatest suprise.
On my end, i have a very extended relation from both parents and as i kid i always looked forward to travelling to the village to receonnect with relations and i still
maintain such reconnect till today.

Please i knw she reads this blog well. I need yoruba ladies who married igbo or any igbo lady to help enlighten her on igbo traditions and expectations as a wife of an igbo man. I regret not doing this before i got married atleast.

Apologies if too long...i just had ti pour out my hrt!!
My apologies for quoting ur whole post but I had to get ur attention somehow.
The generalization is unfair and not right. It doesn't cut across all yorubas, believe me I know. My dad an igbo man married a yoruba woman, they had their ups and downs but were married for a very long time.
Yes yorubas do have very bad mouth that one I know and grew to dislike from my mom and her relations but living with them the length of time I did I could never see anything abusive in their talking.
pls note that the igbos too have very bad mouth, that one I also got to be exposed to from my cousins but only in jest and play. All in all, I have a great respect for my relations of both divide and I call both region home.

The situation u painted is obviously true for only ur wife, as in her character which u should have seen while dating her? Thats the essence of dating before marrying. Since its like this, ur only option now is to sit her down and speak intensively with her. If she refuses to change then sending her back to her parents after reporting her to them is another option. In the Nigerian setting that action alone should correct her medulla. If it fails to correct her then u still have the option of going the whole 9 yards of seperation and all in that direction but before u do ask urself if u can stomach marrying an abusive woman ur whole life or if u would rather call it quits.
Romance › Re: She Has A Boyfriend But Still Likes Me by drnoel: 10:43am On Dec 27, 2016
caukerzee:
Well it goes like this; I met this girl some months ago. I instantly had a liking for her reason being that she looked so much like an old friend. We got talking and as time went on, feelings began to set it. I made my intentions clear to her about wanting to date her and she was like "let's see how it goes". We hung out a couple of times, from the signs I was getting it became obvious that she was intrested in me.
One night we got chatting on whatsApp after we came back from an outing. I asked her: "hope you had fun today? " she replied: "yes. Thanks for making my day. It was generally a good day except that I'm having issues with my boyfriend ". ["Did I just hear boyfriend ?"; I said in my mind] Trying to play it cool I said: "Sorry about that". At this point I told many thoughts began to cross my mind. Not wanting to be a girlfriend snatcher I let it pass. We continued chatting. After a few convos she asked me: "Hope you're not hurt ?" "About?" (Pretending not to know what she was talking about ): I replied. "About the boyfriend stuff? "
"Nah...why should I?"
"But I have feelings for you and would have really like if we could work out I'm sorry ".
"Now I'm going to cry in my pillow for weeks (I said jokingly )".
"Lol. You're funny ".
"Do me a favour ".
"what ?"
"You're going to be responsible for getting me the second most beautiful and amazing girl now that I can not have you".
"Lol ".
Long story short, she began trying to convince me to give it a try. Telling me how her boyfriend stays outside town and how they only see once in a while. I let her know that I can't share my woman with another man, how I can't be the side guy. She kept insisting telling me to trust her. I still let her know that more than affection I need comitment and how it's impossible to be commited to two people and all the emotional baggage that comes with it (having witness a similar scenario ). She told me to pretend I didn't know about another man in her life. She kept insisting. I then asked: "If you have a boyfriend what that make me?"
"Boyfriend": she replied. We kept going back and forth about the scenario until I told her to forget it as I cannot be a "Backup plan". She claimed I did not care about her feelings.
The following evening her roommate called me asking me what I did to her friend and how she had been crying all evening. I felt bad and asked to meet so we could talk things over. I eventually agreed to date her giving her the following terms :
1. That she figures which of us she's going to continue with and a day will come when she has to decide or it's over.
2. That she never brings him up whenever we're together.
She was very happy and took the offer. Things got off to a great start. Time went on and we increasingly got fon of each other.
The first day we kissed, she told me she was feeling guilty. Trying not to be a drama queen, I reacted cooly. I just reminded her about our agreement of not bringing stuff like that up. She cries any time we have sextet and as time went on I made her feel comfortable about sex.
The relationship went on. We had fights, we reconciled every time like every other normal relationship.
A few days ago when she was supposed to leave town to her family for the Christmas, we had our goodbye sex and all that. We said our 'byes' and 'i miss you(s)' & parted ways. Latter that evening, she called me and was crying over the phone. I told her to calm down and tell me what the matter was. She told me that what she did with me earlier in the day, she did with the other guy. My heart shattred. I was so furious and didn't know what to say. I just ended the call. She kept calling and texting to apologise saying she won't bring him up again and that she needed someone to talk to at that point that's why she called. Ignored her for a while then I replied her; if she wants us to work out, she we have to meet up and talk about our relationship should be ideally. But she seems not to be able to make up her mind. I feel this is a typical case of trying to eat your cake and have it.
What do I do?
U are still obviously in school, ur immaturity screams volumes. At that age u should learn to love without ur heart. Be the shoulder to cry on in times of sadness, the dick to ride on in times of lust, the friend to talk with and fight with but never get serious with her cos she won't be with u. Merry Christmas

Good.

But one confusing part of the story, and I want those in the know to help me out here. Is James Ibori not a British Citizen? I am about 98% sure he is,via marriage to his wife who is British by birth and they both lived in England for years as a couple.

So,can the Nigerian Government force the British Government to send Ibori back to Nigeria?considering the fact he is British too?
Britain reserves the right to withdraw its citizenship from any citizens found in their own opinion found wanting. Ibori has fulfiled those ground remarkably well, embarrassing both Nigeria and Britain. For the to be suggesting deportation it only means they have withdrawn his British passport and Ibori no longer has dual nationality but only his Nigerian one.

From Jeff Amechi Agbodo, Onitsha

President Muhammadu Buhari may have hneard enough of the prowess of the businessmen and women in Anambra State, particularly the manufacturers.
Therefore, the President recently sent out his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, to Anambra State to visit major manufacturers and bring back word to him.
And what the Vice President saw on his fact-finding visit was cheering as he could not hide his joy over what the entrepreneurs in the state had done.
He specifically noted that entrepreneurs in Onitsha and Nnewi have given hope to many unemployed youths in the country, promising that the Federal Government would support them to continue to help the government in creating employment, especially for youths.
Osinbajo, on arrival in Anambra State, had performed the groundbreaking ceremony of Eastern Distilleries and Food Industries Limited, makers of non-alcoholic premium brand, in Onitsha, the commercial hub of Anambra State.
He was accompanied to the groundbreaking ceremony by Governor Willie Obiano and Dr. Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Productivity.
The premium beverage factory, which is located at Harbour Industrial Estate, Onitsha, when completed would employ over 800 people and provide indirect employment to over 2,500 others.
The Vice President, while laying the foundation stone of the facility, expressed happiness over the resilience and fortitude of Chris Oranu Chidume, managing director of Eastern Distilleries and Food Industries Limited, saying that he has done well even in the face of extreme difficulty.
He described the Eastern Distilleries and Food Industries Limited as a unique company that would become great in the country and commended the management and staff of the company for steering it successfully to its present state.
Osinbajo said he was in Onitsha on the instruction of President Buhari and promised that the Federal Government would support entrepreneurs in the country to continue to assist government in creating employment for the people.
His words: “I have seen the sheer enterprise that is going on in this place, the business acumen, the entrepreneurial skills, and it has become very clear that this is truly the hot-bed of industrialisation in Nigeria and I am very pleased to see all of these.
“I am here on behalf of Mr. President to see for myself firsthand the types of industries that are going on locally and, of course, we have chosen to come here first because this is one of the most active places in the country.
“In whatever way we can assist we will and we are already discussing with Governor Willie Obiano, who has laid out so many things he expects us to do and, hopefully, we will be able to do them.
“You could also notice that I came along with the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige, because job creation is so important to this administration.
“So, I am excited to be here, I have seen a lot and I will be reporting back to Mr. President and whatever we can do to support the Harbour Industrial Estate in Onitsha and other industrial estates in the country, we will do it.”
He also applauded the entrepreneurial capabilities of the management and staff of Krisoral & Company Limited for keeping on their business despite the economic recession in the country.
Osinbajo went on a tour of the ultra-modern factories owned by Krisoral & Company Limited, even as Obiano, who was also visibly impressed with activities at the site, observed that the company would continue to grow to provide employment for the people of Anambra State, which was re-echoed by the minister of Labour and Productivity.
Group Managing Director, Krisoral Group of Companies, Chris Oranu Chidume, while guiding the Vice President and his entourage on a tour of the Roll-On-Pilfer-Proof (ROPP) and High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) closure factories, explained that the firm has scaled up the capacity of its plants, from two billion caps per annum to four billion caps per annum; an increase of 100 per cent.
He explained that Krisoral & Company Limited produces ROPP caps of different dimensions, HDPE caps, which come in carbonated or non-carbonated formsm printed or plain of different colours and in the sizes of 28mm, 30mm and 41.5mm.
The company also produces drug dispensing cups and PVC shrink labels.
“It is the first indigenous company in Nigeria to have full process of ROPP cap and the only company today that has top and side embossments technology. The factories directly employs about 120 staff and indirectly employs over 800 persons,” he said.
Oranu also explained that the capacities of the two plants as at 2012 were about two billion caps per annum, which has now been upgraded to about four billion caps per annum, stressing that a lot of expansion has occurred between 2012, the year they were commissioned by former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and now, 2016.
This capacity, according to Oranu, is enough to relieve companies in Nigeria, especially pharmaceutical and beverage companies, of the rigours and stress of importing closures from abroad.
He noted that many people may not know that such a facility exists locally and thus may still be importing, complaining that the Central Bank of Nigeria is strangulating their businesses “by not giving them funds to import, in other words, paying more for less.”
He, therefore, called on the end user companies to utilize this opportunity to add value to their business, pointing out that what they are looking for overseas are here at their doorstep.
Osinbajo also visited the Pokobros Group of Companies, where he commended the manufacturers and industrialists in Onitsha, and other parts of Anambra State for job creation through their companies.
The VP urged Nigerians to emulate Anambra businessmen and others that have invested in the country to create job and empower the youths through industries and factories and by s doing contributing to the GDP of the country.
In his remarks, chairman of Harbour Industrial Layout Association and MD of Pokobros, Chief P.A. Okonkwor, told the Vice President that their major problem was power supply, which affects factorie’ steady production, adding that most often they pay bills for electricity they do not consume.
Other problems, he said, include foreign exchange control measures of the CBN as he requested direct window for manufacturers; flooding, export process zone, the Second Niger Bridge, which he said would ease the flow of movement in and out of Onitsha.
Okonkwor also called on the Federal Government to review the current lists of goods whose forex financing were excluded from the official forex market by the CBN, saying some of the items were critical input to manufacturing operations where there were no local manufacturer/suppliers.

Freedom2016:
This will be the best thing that will happen to Nigeria. Before you embark on this, make sure there is dollar supply to banks to sell to public at 305....CBN must monitor them closely because the banks are also corrupt. They can also ration it, lets say $10,000 a week at 305 for private individuals. If you choose to buy more than $10,000 a week, its your responsibility to source it outside the bank.
