I am surprised that incurable tribal bigots, religious irredentists and fanatics, and ethnic jingoists on NR have not written a thing like "an aboki got a First Class from a UK Uni, are you sure"? We should recognize that there are brilliant, intelligent people from all our 250 ethnic groups in Nigeria. Knowing about that and believing so enhances the way we relate among ourselves. The same manner we have murderous people among all tribes, we equally have pious and humane people... For instance, the medical record set by Prof. Jubril Aminu (yes, same Jubril Aminu from Adamawa State) at the Faculty of Medicine at University of Ibadan (IU) has remained unbeaten till today several decades after! Some clowns would still say "ah, a Fulani cow man left a yet unbeaten academic record at UI, are you sure"? Lol |

I am Yoruba but most times one wonders about the level of deep ethnic bigotry among Nigerians, and especially against our people from the North since President Buhari was elected, largely from TANoids, PDP e-pigs and e-rats, Fani-Kayode e-rats, young children of hate who never knew or witnessed Nigeria's intricate history, and their ilk! Most commentators side-stepped the fact that this 'Northern/Borno state General' attended the well-recognized and famous King's College (KC) Lagos and had a PhD in Architecture from a UK University. If he was from the South, most hypocrites who had commented on this post would have hailed him to the heavens as having received 'solid education' from KC and the UK! As far as one is concerned, there are brilliant, intelligent, resourceful, competent, self-motivated professionals among ALL the 250 ethnic groups in Nigeria and when Yorubas, Igbos, and Hausas engage in dirty fights online (mostly orchestrated by politicians who do not even know us or care about us as they are largely friends across parties and only cry ethnicity when their bread was not buttered), the 'tripod' tribes (Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo) should know that there are other 247 ethnic groups in Nigeria, including Tiv, Idoma, Bassange, Baruba, Nupe, Ebira, Jukun, Kalangu, Efik, Ibibio, Bini, Angas, Birom, Kaje, etc, etc who are also stakeholders... 3 Likes |

I just pity Governor Udom Emmanuel as Godswill Akpabio has encircled him totally. Akpabio single-handedly nominated 15 out of the 20 s0-called Commissioners that Udom had just sworn in (15 out of 20!!!). Akpabio nominated ALL the members of the Akwa-Ibom State House of Assembly and imposed a Speaker on them. Akpabio, as a Senator based in Abuja, still uses Government House cars; Akpabio still passes the night in the Governor's Lodge in Uyo; Akpabio still flies the jet owned by the Akwa Ibom State Government! Udom is a very intelligent, urbane banker- we are waiting to see how he will handle this albatross called Senator (ex-Governor) Akpabio! Where were all the TANoids, PDP clowns, and their ilk spewing rubbish here when Marlyn Ogar, the so-called spokesperson of the DSS virtually became an Olisa Metuh (PDP National Publicity Secretary) insulting APC, Buhari, and anything that was not PDP? When were the clowns when Ita Ekpeyong's (DSS DG) nephew got married and all the PDP top guns (such as Akpabio, Uduaghan, some service chiefs, etc) were spraying hard currency? How could PDP top dogs be so shamelessly fraternizing with the DG of a national secret service and the President could not say a word? How could Marlyn Ogar be so shamelessly partisan against the APC and no sane person could call her to order? Hmmm, Akpabio. I've visited Uyo and Akpabio was one of only about 3 PDP Governors who could be said to have performed in the last dispensation based on development in the state capital only. However, his level of greed is unprecedented. He spends so frivolously (many examples- N1 million for Mr. Bigg's lunch for PDP officials; 2 Toyota Prado SUVs for Tuface Idibia and wife; sponsoring of hundreds of people to Dubai for the couple's wedding; frivolous gifts of Toyota Prado SUVs like 'pure water' to girl friends, hangers-on, and 'fronts'- I know 5 beneficiaries, lol) There is no reason why a state that is in the top 3 of all forms of revenue allocation- FAAC, Excess Crude Account, 13% Derivation, Niger Delta Scholarships, NDDC, Amnesty Programme (of Kingsley Kuku) should be leaving a huge debt of N400 billion behind!!! When compared to Lagos (even with the massive Lagos internally generated revenue- IGR), Akwa-Ibom state should be like a mini-London, just as Delta, Bayelsa, and Rivers states should also have been a mini-Paris... Now, he is still using the vehicles of the Governor of Akwa-Ibom state despite enjoying a very generous pension and also colleting allowances as a Senator; he still flies the jet bought by the Akwa-Ibom State government and to cap it all, he has 'allocated' 15 Commissioners out of 20 to the incumbent Governor, Udom Emmanuel. The Akwa-Ibom State House Assembly, 100% of who are his 'boys' and who were hand-picked by him are expected to rubber-stamp the list of Commissioners today or tomorrow! How could a former Governor, Akpabio, tie the hands of his successor, cerebral Udom Emmanuel, to the extent of forcing 15 out of 20 Commissioners on him? Udom nominated only 5 Commissioners! To add insult to the injury all the 15 Commissioner-nominees worked in Akpabio's administration! It is like rendering Udom Emmanuel impotent as a Governor! Even at the height of Tinubu's influence on Fashola, he only nominated people like Tunji Bello and Pastor Ben Akabueze, his former Commissioners, into Fashola's cabinet. But he never imposed a whopping 15 out of 20 Commissioners on his successor!!! The way things are, knowing Udom Emmanuel as a brilliant ex-banker (former Executive Director) it won't take one year before he will fight Akpabio! This is nonsense!!! Many people took full advantage of the man- too gentle, extremely meek (and weak); and timid too. When the details start unraveling, do not say that I didn't tell you.
