FASHOLA- charisma, knowledge, vision, can-do attitude, thinker, reader, open-minded, discerning, commitment, tenacity, self-assurance, confidence, competence...They don't call him 'Our Captain' for nothing. We will miss him in Lagos. What a leader... One of the very few Governors in Nigeria who can engage in rigorous intellectual discourse and/or constructive argument about almost anything or any subject without consulting written notes or prompters... |
aresa:I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU! |
Hmm, Femi Fani-Kayode. What a man! No scruples, no morals, no principle, no class, no belief, no mantra, no ideal. Nothing. His history of serial fornication is legendary, lol. |
Although Akpabio is one of the few performing PDP Governors, his level of profligacy is monumental. If he was not giving free 2 Toyota Prado SUV for Tuface and his wife for their wedding and sponsoring many people to the same wedding in Dubai, he would be giving Ini Edo millions of Akwa-Ibom money. If he was not spending on 'go and use this 1 million naira for lunch at Mr. Bigg's'. he would be spending N200 million on hotel accommodation in South Africa. Minister Okonjo Iweala has just released the list of revenue receipt from the Excess Crude Account, while Akwa-Ibom got the HIGHEST AMOUNT OF N265 BILLION, states like Kwara, Ekiti, Ebonyi got miserly amounts of N54 billion, N46 billion, and N44 billion respectively. I even pity Kwara, a state created same year as Lagos and Kano (in 1967)! |
ECOTERRORS:Of the 18 states, 10 are PDP and 8 are APC. So, what the he'll are you saying. Are you daft, simply mischievous, or un-educated? Choose one, lol. And if you look @ the proportion of months being owed, PDP states have more! No Niger Delta state or oil producing state should be on that list with all the extra-statutory allocation they get from the FG! It's a shame! Abia had been a sorry case since Orji Kalu. TA Orji just made it worse! I wished Alex Otti of APGA won! |
These senseless decisions to arm-twist the incoming Buhari government a week to his exit! God dey... How well have the existing universities been funded? Even the first-generation universities are not well off, let alone the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation universities and daft Jonathan has added his own 5th and 6th generation mushroom village schools as upgraded universities... This decision is so myopic (as most of daft Jonathan's decisions). The mushroom 12 universities he established are glorified secondary schools, now he has added additional 5! Senselessness and Jonathan always exist together! |
The court berated both the INEC and PDP for promoting “the culture of impunity” by their failure to disqualify Abah from participating in the election in view of the court judgement that had since 2011 affirmed that he (Abah) presented a forged certificate for the purpose of standing for an election. PDP! I sincerely hope that APC is learning fast! They should learn from the pitfalls of PDP- outrageous impunity, lawlessness, unbridled corruption, playing god, arrogance, hell-inviting lies, base sentiments, bigotry (ethnic and religious), sheer wickedness..It's a long list. How could a party refuse to obey a court injunction given since 2011 and allowed a verified (indicted) certificate forger to continue to enjoy perks of office as a Member of the House of Representatives for 4 years and even had the temerity to present him again in the recent 2015 elections as PDP candidate? And he won again! APC, please learn! Learn!!! |
Ebun is going insane! Obasanjo was called Chief Olusegun Obasanjo (OBJ, not General Obasanjo), Ikemba Odumegwu Ojukwu was so called (not General Ojukwu)... This is needless attention-seeking madness. Ebun is becoming monotonous, boring, and is engaging in delusion of grandeur. This was not the way Gani Fawehinmi, blessed soul, won his stripes and reputation... |
Thank you, Lai Mohammed. Same thing I told some daft clowns yesterday who read the purely speculative story (of ministerial nominees) in the papers which didn't refer to any credible source but they started insulting APC and Buhari! These days, the way some people believe 'anonymous sources' if it was reported by a blog or a faceless website that a dog knocked down President-elect Buhari, they would believe it!!! They're still suffering from Jonathan's defeat! |
Goahead:It appears that you don't read newspapers enough. Obasanjo got married sometime in 2009 or 2011 (can't recall the exact year). His wife attends events with him regularly... |
Some people are just daft! A newspaper listed random speculated names without any source and people are already insulting Buhari and APC saying rubbish about having old politicians! Is it every news story that is true? Irritating! |
When the story of real 'transformational leadership' is told in Nigeria's history several years to come, the name Babatunde Raji Fashola will get a generous full page. A man imbued with admirable leadership qualities- charismatic, self-motivated, a confirmed 'doer', idealist and realist at the same time, and e very, very effective leader of men. May his rank continue to swell... The landmark initiatives Lagos have seen (and is seeing) under this man would speak for him well into the future. One of the very few Governors in Nigerian history who READ BOOKS, HAVE FERTILE MINDS, and have GLOBAL VIEWS about almost anything and any subject; and can speak extempore without prior notice, prompting, or prepared speeches! Akinwunmi Ambode, Governor-elect, has a huge reputational expectation to fulfill. He's succeeding a class-act leader (Fashola) as Governor. The bar is too high to be lowered...Best wishes, Ambode! |
himkers:Are you so daft, blind, insane, and dumb at the same time? A newspaper reported a court session (with dates, name of court, name of judge, name of lawyers- both defendant and plaintiff-, name of bank, name of Okupe's company, adjourned date, etc) and you still think this was APC propaganda? People like you are just irredeemable. You are lost souls! |
The most tactless, most unreasonable, most inept, and most unfit spokesperson the DSS ever had! She did her job better than Olisa Metuh had done as Publicity Secretary of PDP. I've never seen a public official so biased toward a ruling party as that clown called Marilyn Ogar. She was the unofficial mouth-piece of the PDP pre-and post-campaigns! She could not hide her hatred for Buhari and APC. Too glaring! Nothing stops a public officer from being objective and professional. The other day Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State publicly instructed voters to use both TVCs and PVCs to vote (contrary to INEC guidelines). When the INEC spokesman reacted, he stated that "we wish to refute a statement credited to a state Governor" even when all the newspapers attributed the story to Jang. Should he had been Marilyn Ogar and it involved an APC Governor, she would have said "Governor so-so of the APC was misleading the populace by instigating them to unlawfully use TVCs'. In a particular press conference she mentioned APC about 15 times! In an instance, she said that "we thank God that bomb blasts have stopped since APC won he Osun elections"! Such words from a secret service spokeswoman! All these last-minute appointments/empowerment of cronies and sack of 'enemies' will be rescinded soon. The Lord is still on the throne. May 29 is almost here... |
Messi! What a player! Yesterday, Pep said 'no one can stop Messi'. So true. The best football player on planet earth by a wide, wide, wide margin. No controversy! |
What a player! Yesterday, Pep said 'no one can stop Messi'. So true! Best football player on planet earth by a wide, wide, wide, margin. No controversy!!! |
Sacking Ernest Nwanpa, an engineer with bias for oil and gas and appointing Kentebe, an architect for a purely oil and gas job (local content)? Square pegs in round holes! |
gamaliel121:God bless you! This is the exact gospel I've been preaching since after the election. Any citizen who wishes failure on any government is cursing himself because politicians, in and out of government, will not be affected. Their families are comfortable. It's you and I who are here cursing and ranting that will bear the brunt. God forbid! |
A lot of curses and bad wishes are being hurled at the President-elect by disgruntled bad losers. This man was an irresponsible military administrator under Abacha and was the Director General of Campaign of PDP Akwa-Ibom governorship candidate at the last election. His wish for bad luck is immaterial. Our elites are so wicked. Their children are living lives of luxury abroad but cursing an incoming government just because their bread and butter from Abuja will stop on May 29! Wicked souls! |
Anyway, it was the same way several churches told their members never to vote Buhari. Certain well known churches in the North did! In fact, some instructions to vote only 'Christian Jonathan' were translated! Both sides (Muslim and Christians) were guilty! |
Take IBB out of your list. Read his Buhari full-page congratulatory advert in 2 newspapers last week. |
For God's sake, in a sane country, Ifeanyi Ugah should be in jail by now! AMCON fraudulent returned Capital Oil to him as the gun and official armaggedon was brought to bear on Mustapha Chike Obi (MD of AMCON) to return the company under duress! Now, he's crying. Don't worry, his tears will resurface very soon. All the fraudulent sale of public assets at give-away prices to Jonathan's friends and Patience Jonathan's hangers-on will be revisited by Buhari. Enough is just enough! |
Dannyset:God bless you, Danny. And they are both retired Generals. The unwritten army code is to the effect that they cooperate. Buhari was Mark's senior in the Army. Someone who should know told us at a gathering recently that OBJ and IBB spoke and laughed on phone the following day after their well-publicized spat last year when they both insulted each other as 'a fool at 70 is a fool to the grave'. Remember that sordid episode? But their followers were 'killing' one another in the media! On your second point, only if Nigerians know that politicians are friends, regardless of parties! Their kids are friends in their closets in London, Paris, New York, Dubai, etc. And ordinary Nigerians 'kill' ourselves emotionally or physically (through being political thugs) and the politicians laugh at us... The big-time politicians are like bank CEOs. They meet in their closets, are members of the same club (Ikoyi Club, IBB Golf Club, Yoruba Lawn Tennis Club, Island Club, etc), they meet and share jokes at Bankers' Committee meetings, their wives are friends and travel to Dubai to buy jewelry together; but their banks' employees go about insulting one another and 'demarketing' one another's banks, snatching one another's customers. the CEOs just laugh at them!!! Jimi Agbaje have met with Tinubu twice since the elections ended. Jide Obanikoro and Lai Mohammed's son, Jimi (who won a seat to the Lagos State House of Assembly) are friends! Ordinary Nigerians, just do your bit, seek to change society for the benefit of the majority, support your Government, pray for your leaders, and see that we all prosper. Any other thing is waste of time! |
Rawani:Deep. Deep. Deep. So true! |
shadowgwalker:Look at the pictures again, bro. The motorbikes all had the 'chacha-mint, fresh, new nylon' on them. They are new! So, they could not have been snatched by VIOs and recovered! It's a PDP thing; it's in their DNA. Fraud and impunity! lol |
shadowgwalker:Look at the pictures again, bro. They al had the 'chach-mint nylon' on them. They are new! So, they could not have been snatched by VIOs and recovered! It's a PDP thing; it's in their DNA. Fraud and impunity! lol |
aanumama:Ah, ah, ah. bro. I'll love to see Olisa Metuh act as opposition spokesman! So, PDP could cry over 'one-party state'? With all they did to APP, ANPP, APGA, PPA, Labour Party, 'stealing' their governorships at different times since 1999!!! The way they lured all the 3 AD Senators from Lagos in 2003 (Obanikoro, Wahab Dosunmu, and Ogunlewe) to decamp to PDP!!! How they stole Isa Yuguda's ANPP mandate in Bauchi? How they stole the mandates of ANPP in Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto, etc? And Labour Party's mandate in Ondo? The man who beheads people for the king at will, hates the sight of the machete near his own head!!! |
Bigii:Is their a pattern in the way some Benue 'Nairalanders' write? Just as 'missiles' were going off on another post supporting David Mark, this one showed up! Kai. I dey laugh o |
SamConquer:Hmmm, no wonder you are supporting David Mark so frantically. The 'missiles' emanating from your pro-David Mark epistle says a lot about the quality of education in Benue state where teachers are not paid for one year! Laughs... |
Is anyone surprised? This same Governor Suswan of Benue shut primary schools for a whole one year refusing to pay teachers' salaries! The same Governor is owing civil servants about 7 months salary! Makurdi, the state capital (of an old 2nd-generation state), looks like a glorified village! And his people rejected his stooge Governorship candidate and voted APC's Ortom. And they added salt on the injury by having him lose his Senatorial elections! If there us one single positive thing about the 2015 elections, it was the 80% success of ordinary Nigerians in rejecting clowns who did not perform but wanted to go on vacation at the Senate or those who wanted their 'feeding-bottle' kids as successor Governors and control them remotely from their bedrooms! People like current Governors of Niger, Plateau, Bauchi, Katsina, Benue, etc. To think that the guy has a PhD from Unilag!!! |
[quote author=MuguliciousMUGU post=32856367]See house? And he said he has 1 million naira and 150 cows, that devil must be a liar, devil has seen his twin brother since 1914, even lord lugard knows about the union... This was the main reason why mama peace was crying "there is God ooo" chai.[/quo Are you dumb? Or just heartlessly daft? The story clearly says 'hotel room' but foolishly mentioned 'see house' and cursed the President-elect! |
Ralphlauren:Ralph, while agreeing with your valid points (any objective banker who has been around for at least 20 years in the industry would agree that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was one of the 3 best CBN Governor Nigeria has ever had; anyone who has encountered him at close range would agree that he is exactly as you described him and more- witty, brilliant, well articulate, knowledgeable, and self-assured to the point of arrogance lol); however, the way members of most royal families think is far different from the 'non-initiated' like us. To most princes, the only thing that matters in life is the royal stool and examples abound (aside the cerebral Sanusi): 1. Oba Oladele Olashore (father of Bimbo Olashore, MD of defunct Lead Merchant Bank and now MD of Lead Capital) was a former MD of Nigeria's largest bank- First Bank Plc, very brilliant senior banker and a former Minister of Finance. He left the glamour of the financial world in Lagos and Abuja to take up the stool in Iloko-Ijesha, a very sleepy village in Osun State. When he assumed the stool, the village was not even on the National Grid (meaning NEPA's electricity was not there at all). He had to install some generators at his own expense for the entire village to have power! And they switched off the generating sets at 10:00pm every day! He died on the throne in 2012 (3 years ago). 2. Professor Green Nwankwo was a popular top-notch academic and banker of repute who was a Professor of Banking and Finance at UNILAG. He was also a National President of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) 1987-1989 and Chairman of the defunct ACB International Bank Plc. He was also the pioneer Executive Director Monetary and Banking Policy at CBN and Chairman of Union Bank from 1990 to 1996! He left the glitz and glamor of Lagos to take up the stool in his village as Eze Aro-Amuro Autonomous Community, Imo State. 3. Emir Ibrahim Kolapo Sulu-Gambari Emir of Ilorin, was a Judge of the Court of Appeal in Ibadan. He left that to assume the stool in Ilorin. I remember a unique interview he granted on the 1st anniversary of his Emirship: in response to a reporter's question about his preference between being at the top of the temple of justice and the Ilorin Emirship, he blurted: "any Prince worth his name, who is not a bastard, has only one ambition in life- to assume the royal stool of his fore-fathers, any other accomplishment is secondary"! 4. There are several cerebral people in all the major disciplines who left the comfort of Lagos, Port-Harcourt, Abuja, (even Europe, USA, etc) to their villages to assume the royal stool. Minister Okonjo-Iweala's dad, Professor Okonjo, was a renown Professor in University of Ibadan (where NOI was born) but he's the Obi od Ugwuashi-Uku in Delta state. The current Sultan of Sokoto left his position as Brigadier-General and Nigeria's Defence Attache abroad (in Pakistan, USA, etc) to assume the Sultanate stool. I have a number of princes as friends, well educated, suave, urbane, that is their thinking! Only the royal stool matters! |
