It is not allowed in the UK.

Don't allow your landlord drag you to small claims court

Hello,

You can apply from Dubai and they can apply from Naija,

Mention them in your application.

Dependants will also apply individually, they will need your GWF no during their application, that is the link to yours.

Cheers

I got conditioner admission offer into Bedfordshire university for masters programme and I intend to take my wife and daughter along if all things being equal. Pls house, is it advisable for me to apply for my student visa in Dubai while my dependant(wife & daughter) are in naija? How do I include them in my visa application since they based in naija & I intend taking them along with me to UK? Thanks in advance for your good response & advice.

It could be

But then they claim to be fair, transparent and unbiase during their recruitment processes.

I think it makes it easier to push the button for the candidate when he/she has the required skills/experience coupled with a good Uni and an alumni that can speak on their behalf.

My thoughts anyway

justwise:
I will always encourage anybody who can afford to attend good ranked university to do that without minding the cost, It opens doors..i mean many doors for their graduates, connections are without limit, yes employers know those good universities without a doubt.

Not just in the UK, around the world university ranking gives a graduate extra leg in job market and connections to other opportunities.

Majority of people who run this country are graduate of highly ranked universities , does not mean that they are the best or intelligent, its all about connections

Hello,

This is a very interesting question, I'll try to give my thoughts on what could be happening based on conversations I have had with my colleagues in the industry working in HR.

Whilst it is good to consider rankings when choosing Uni's especially Uni's that have a good reputation with industries and great alumni system ( you can reach out to the alumnus and make enquiries on the role you apply for etc).I am yet to hear of anyone that was employed because they attended a certain Uni.

My understanding is that UK employment takes relevant work experiences, skills and competencies into consideration especially with technical roles. They always want to ensure the candidate has the right experience/skill set for the job and can hit the ground running when they get employed and after training.

This applies to jobs with potential skilled workers visa opportunity and not necessarily jobs to maintain you while studying, those are easier to get

Cheers

NaughtyBrainiac:
Hello guys,

How are you doing?

I was just thinking if University ranking is one of the factors we should consider when choosing a school?

You know there are organisations in Nigeria where University ranking are considered during employment.

E.g some employers believe that graduates of top schools in Nigeira are most times better than graduates of schools with poor ranking.

Some Alumni are also sometimes sentimental.

Does it also work like that in the UK? If yes, how significant is it?

Thank you

Hi Naomimary,

I am well thank you,

No you don't need to scan individual pages of your passport to show travel history.

Just mention them in your visa application form and that should be fine

Cheers

Naomimary:
Hi Duchess! How are you doing? If an applicant has a travel history, does he/she need to submit a photocopy of the visa stamp? I mean, since you're submitting your passport, the caseworker would see it right? Or will the TLs agent scan the pages and upload?
I've not heard anyone mention it but I was reading up on something today and I need to kill my curiosity.

Hello,

She doesn't need her decision letter to get to the UK, her visa vignette should be fine

She will need it to collect her BRP though, send an via this link for advise on alternatives

However some postoffices are fine with giving her the BRP without a decision letter.

Well,

Your assertion on lived experience is biase as lived experiences differ with everyone.

With skilled workers visa it depends on the company employing and the areas where the position is advertised. That's why it's advisable to study and live in areas that are affordable and move to whatever location the skilled workers visa offers

During application, people should always mention they are happy to relocate and then start to research the affordability of the new area before they start to work

Cheers

Hello,

Again I disagree at the bolded,

It doesn't have to be a big company, as long as they have the license to sponsor or are willing to get one for that role or position.

Here's the link for people who are interested in keeping an eye on those companies

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/register-of-licensed-sponsors-workers

Cheers

monfizzy:
There are jobs opportunity everywhere in the U.K. for sure but more in London. It’s like comparing jobs opportunity in Lagos to other parts of Nigeria.

Tier 2 visa sponsorship are usually sponsored by big companies such as the NHS and you’ll find more NHS Trust or jobs in London than anywhere else in Britain due to the population size of the capital. I work with the NHS and I’ll say in the past year, I’ve come across several Nigerians working with the NHS who recently switched from tier 4 to tier 2 visas.

Definitely one can get a tier 2 sponsorship anywhere in the U.K. but population factor can increase one’s chances.

Hello,

Are you on a student or skilled worker visa?

How long have you lived in London and where did you get your statistics to quote the bolded?

monfizzy:
As a Londoner, I’ve seen a lot of people avoiding London saying its cost of living is very high. This is true but you’re also going to get more job opportunities in London including a possible switch to tier 2 visa than other parts of the U.K.. So my advise is if you can afford any uni in London then go for it.

Your CV should be fine

If additional documents are requested for, then you can provide your business registration documents

Being a newly registered business shouldn't be an issue for student visa,it might be for visit visa though.

You should be fine

Won't newly registered business raise a red flag? God bless you as I await your response

It depends but typically from 5years and above.

To be safe, anyone with a gap should just prepare relevant documents on standby just incase it is requested for

Anyone with a gap from 5years should submit relevant documents to avoid NSF

My opinion though

Please I have a question to ask you.
For someone with a past refusal to another country, after declaring it during the visa application, do you also need to upload the refusal document? Also, as someone with a past UK visa but it’s on an expired passport, after declaring, do you upload the old passport as well?
Thank you ma’am.

Please how true is this?
NB: the account is a savings account and I have been saving for my post graduate studies in it for a long time.

Hello,

There is nothing to worry about if you have provided the additional documents they requested for

I am sure you are aware of the Ukraine situation and how this is causing several delays for visa application. What you can do is perhaps send a paid email to check the status of your application and confirm if a decision has been made.

[did you send any paid mail or call before receiving the NSF mail]Hello Everyone.

Good Afternoon.

Pls i am worried. I applied for my uk student visa on April 19th. I decided to go to tls connect in abuja as an agent adviced they have a high chance of granting my visa if i apply in abuja than lagos.

I got a non straighforward email on the 13th of May, asking for evidence of what i have been doing since i left school in 2015 i.e additional work and further schooling documents.

I submited my previous and current work appointment letters, and reference letters, on the same day, i.e 13th May.

But i still havnt gotten any email yet.

Are there ppl in this same situation? and is this normal? Should i have gotten a response yet? How long does non straight forward mails last before getting a response.

Pls, iv read so much material on this platform, but this is my first ever post. I need help and advice.

Thanks.

Main applicants visa fee is £363 while dependant visa fee is £490

The fees and application will be paid individually

Hello,

1. No you can't, dependant child is usually till 14, there are exemptions for 16-17years if they can prove that they are not living an independent life or not married.

2.The only exemption would have been if he turns 18years in the UK with the same dependant visa already or previously granted.

Hope it makes sense. Try to read more on this link, narrow down your search to dependants section.

Please what do you advice to cover for study gap for someone applying for another masters and in this situation:
Finished BSc Dec 2014,

Npower Program Dec 2016 -Dec 2018
MSc Dec 2018 - Dec 2021

Note : can't get reference or any documentary evidence for the Npower, except bank statement probably.
Haven't gotten the result for the MSc done due to uni strike. Can an explanatory letter from probably the project supervisor suffice? Or can the person not bother about the evidences and just submit a CV indicating them all?

Hello,

1. I agree with your advise no 1.

2. Although shortage list is important it doesn't guarantee that you will get a job once you finish, it serves as a good pointer on courses to study, and there are discounts on visa and IHS fees when switching from student to skilled workers visa.
You still need a company that has or are willing to get the sponsorship license and yes it makes it easier for them when the role is on the list.

I really don't know much about account and finance, I am a core science person.it might be worth looking at additional certification she might need that will make her standout when it is time to apply for jobs

Cheers

Hello Guys,

1. My friend is working towards January intake. She gained admission at Westminster University London. I advised her to apply to other schools outside London because of very high cost of living in London. I told her that she can also get jobs in other cities and it won't make sense using all she earns to pay rent in London. I also advised that she should take into consideration Tuition fees, discount as well as payment flexibility.
Please confirm if my advice is a good one.

2. She got admission for a Masters in Accounting & Finance and she is also applying for same course in other schools based on my advice. During my research, I discovered that her course is not on the list of shortage occupation in the UK. Considering that she is looking at the possibility of applying for skilled worker visa in the future, what advice can you give her?

Thank you.

Hello,

I thought as much

Okay, this is what I would do if I were in your shoes, I would apply for a Master's by research, I would include my Bsc, previous masters degree and admission letter for PhD(covering the gaps)

The reason I say so is because when the quality of research doesn't fit PhD it is moved or downgraded to a Master's by research.

Your cover letter can then tell why you have decided to go for a master's by research with the aim of moving to a PhD.

It still shows progression, and atleast you don't have to remove your other degrees and still cover the gaps.

My opinion though
