Hello, Have you looked at the Ist page of this thread. The link to your answers are there, you can do the maths yourself and people can double check. There are additional payment if you choose additional services on TLS for instance if you want your passport sent back via courier. But those are optional and if you need that service Look through the first page Cheers angel4sure: Good morning everyone. Pls I have a question. What's the total amount for visa application and Health charge for a family of 4( One main applicant and husband and two kids).
Pls also are there additional money to pay at TLS office after submitting for visa?. |

Hello, 1. You aren't married yet, 2. She hasn't changed her name yet 3. You want to fill in a name that doesn't exist yet in any document, for TB test that will be submitted for visa application. The risk we take is crazy. Please fill her maiden name, your marriage certificate and proof of relationship is more important than changing name. This again is another subject that has been dealt with many many times Cheers Ajiboyehify: Good evening everyone, Please I want to ask this question.. I and my babe are deciding to travel together and we intend to get married next month. I am currently trying to fill in the TB form and I want to know if it's the name she will start bearing after marriage (I mean change of surname) or the name on her passport I should fill in ? Please it is urgent |

Hello, Ideally yes, but this is the caveat, you will not be able to study full-time and work full-time(i.e more than 20hrs) 2. You need to confirm if you can switch to another visa, previously tier 2 dependants couldn't switch to tier 2 if they got a job, and if they want to study it has to be a course they will finish within 3months. My advise, she can switch to Tier 2 and you switch to Tier 2 dependants towards the end of your studies ( typically 3months or less) when you have explored other visa routes and seen that is the only viable option left Cheers Ugmama: This my question is very technical and I would love experienced person to answer it. I got relocated through student visa with Wifey as dependant.
After few months, Wifey as a nurse got work with NHS.
If her visa chances to work visa due to sponsorship by NHS JOB, I suppose mine too will change.
If so, can I work more than 20hrs then? |

Hello, No it won't get you a Tier 2. You should be looking at Start-up and/or innovative visa With start up visa you can stay in the UK for 2years ,it is not extendable and will not lead to settlement. You can switch to innovative visa which is for 3years, extendable and can lead to settlement. However it has to be an innovative business meaning something not done before, with franchise that is a known business. You can use this link to learn more: https://www.gov.uk/start-up-visa Cheers quote author=Web2020 post=112610453]Good evening everyone. Please I need clarification on this issue: I understand that one need job offer and sponsorship to get tier 2 visa. My question is, can one also get the tier 2 visa if one open a good business in the UK. My plan is to open or buy business franchise that my wife will be running as the dependent while I face my studies. I don't want to hunt for job. By God's grace, I have the capacity to buy good business franchise but I want to be sure that it can lead to permanent stay in the UK using studies visa. I need it for my kids. So, I am looking at the possibility of my wife who is the dependant using the business to apply for tier2.[/quote] |

Hi, The maths is right , the only question is the rate. This is what I got..you might be safe to round it up to N22m to allow exchange fluctuation. But spot on for doing the work. All the best protocol: thanks @duchess90 This is what i got for family of 4
Tuition balance- 17500 pounds living exp. [applicant] 1023x 9 = 9207 living exp [dependants] 680x9x3= 18360
Total= 45067 pounds x 511[oanda rate today] 23,066,249 Naira. [ POF]
Is this correct?

Hello You can calculate this easily, the link is on the first page of the thread, you will see the required maintenance amount for applicants and dependants, add that to the balance of fees left . On the same page you will see the link to Oanda for official conversion so that converts it to Naira value ensure you leave room for exchange fluctuations. Remember TB IHS and visa fees are not included. Do the maths, people can double check on your behalf. Cheers protocol: Hi guys, please can someone help me calculate my POF to make sure am on the right track with my calculation.
school fees 19500 pounds [ already paid 2k] family of four [ me,wifey, and two kids, 4 and 2yrs]
school is north east England.
Thanks so much |

Thanks alot I suspected this will be the answer but wanted to double check that I was advising correctly. The answer should be No then. Thanks again Regards Cashmadam: No need. His friend is not paying anything towards the trip. He is not a sponsor. So, he should not tick the circle. His friend only needs to provide a letter of invitation and state that he will provide accomodation and feeding. |

Thanks Giselle, The groom will provide accommodation in his home, documents and mortgage details have been sent. On that section of the application, will it be a No since it isn't cash value? Regards giselle237: who will be providing accommod? The groom? If it’s the groom, the groom needs to write a very detailed invitation letter and say tht he is providing accommodation and feedn for 10 days. Attach tenancy agreement as well. Applicant also needs to bring this to eco’s attention that host/groom is covering accommo and feeding in his form and/or cover letter. If it’s the groom’ home, there will be no need to monetize it. This is safer. If groom will put applicant in a hotel, then groom has to write a letter + add proof of his financial ability ie bank statement. Adequate information eg room cost for such days will need to have a total amount put + proof of reservation. This is not the absolute list of things to be added pls |

Hello, 1. That will be your NIN card or slip 2. Yes someone can pay, you will need to give them your login details. You can change that after they paid it if it is a concern. 3). You will be charged the bank rate and additional charges if applicable. Again you need a card to do so. However, If someone is helping you, they might want to charge black market to make gains Cheers Newbie123: Just started filling out my visa and I have some questions please.....
1) What does the part that says: do you have a valid National Identity Card refer to? Is this referring to International passport (I already filled that part out) Or driver's licence or NIN card? What if I don't have it? Please see attached photo. what happen if i say no?
For IHS payment, when getting someone to pay for you, can the person be in any country? If Yes, please does it mean you have to give the person your log in details or an account number would be provided when I get to the payment page?
3) If I want to use a dollar account for the IHS payment and I already have dollars in the account, would i be charged the official rate when payment is made or it's still black market rate?
Please help with any one you can answer. It would be highly appreciated. Make i no go make mistake mbok. |

Hello, The bolded may be correct or maybe it was skipped. I would like to think the later. Anyway, back to your question,if you are certain the format is wrong there are 2 options ; 1. Leave it as it is and hope it is not a problem maybe it isn't a problem. 2. If you are concerned, cancel the application and start all over. Whichever you choose and for anyone applying in future, please use the format of you name as it appears on your International passport. That is your main official document. Hope this helps and your feeling has moved from not nice to nice Cheers Vicktorhmustjap: not even one person responded to this as to what I should do... Not nice at all. Hi Benni, That you even did the research is very encouraging, now you see what you might be facing and then you can make a decision Reality/estimation is always better than aspire to perspire Cheers Bennni: Thanks for your response Well from the calculations I made the 20hours won’t be enough to pay the balance between September and January. 800pounds per month Rent is roughly 250-350 per month depending on area and other factors. Let’s say I manage to save 450 every month that’s 2250 by January ending
The only official holiday is the Christmas 2weeks official holiday, if I work let’s say 50hrs during Xmas holiday that’s 10*50*2weeks = 1000 2250+1000= 3250
Not even close and those are rough calculations there will be miscellaneous and unexpected bills along the line.
It still doesn’t cut it |

Oh okay So the expected minimum wage is actually £9.50 not £10- £12 but he could get higher ( that is the range you quoted) Noted, i asked because I thought maybe things had changed again, because this was just updated in April Cheers AlphaUno: It hasn’t changed but thru connect you can get something a little above the minimum. That it’s the minimum doesn’t mean he can’t get something higher. And I intentionally used £10 (50 pence above d min) for a reason as d basis of my calculations |

It might be useful for others if you post the link here Cheers Can you post a link to verify this please? AlphaUno: Your expected minimum wage per hour ranges from £10 to £ 12 (u get d max if you are lucky or can be higher if in care) Do the maths , £10 * 20 hr * 4 weeks

Hello, If UK universities can accept WAEC and GCE as English language requirements for masters they will certainly accept same for PhD. PhD application is slightly different compared with Masters, some schools might need you to get a research supervisory team first, some may not. My advise, look out for the uni of choice and research interests, reach out to the staff that shares same, you might need to submit your research proposal and then they will walk you through the process if they have space to take up a PhD student. Cheers. SparkleU: Hello everyone, I have searched for UK universities that would accept WASSCE or GCE for English language requirements, I'm yet to see any, most I've seen still require some form of presessional course on English Language (I'm literally confused on what that means). I'm also drained by the idea of taking IELTS or any other English language qualification test. I hope to apply for Ph.D and also have a letter of English Language Proficiency from my institution... Please, I will appreciate suggestions of schools in UK that do not require IELTS and it's likes. Please help!!! |

Hello Benni Are you the single guy? Is the single guy you? Anyway, you can do the math yourself and know if it is feasible. You already know your tution balance and location. Do a rough search for cost of shared accommodation with bills inclusive in that area per month. Then another rough estimate of what the bus transport may cost ( again easy search on Google), then how factor in your feeding (do you do 3square meals or 0-1-1?). Once you get an estimate, check minimum wage of £9.50/Hr for the 20hrs /week. That will give you an idea. Also remember towards the end of studies you need to start saving for PSW visa and you can work unlimited during holidays( you need to confirm from your school what days are truly holiday, this is usually a grey area and people will rather stick to 20hrs throughout study, holiday or not to avoid stories that touch). Let's know your findings and maybe others can advise further Cheers Bennni: Hi Active minds! Please I just want to confirm is it possible for a single guy to work and pay the rest of his school fees with 20hours per week ?
His tuition fees balance is 5700pounds
He is expected to pay half by November and the rest by January
Please the guy doesn’t have dependent and he’s on the verge of giving up the whole process cause he feels like 20hours won’t cut it for him, knowing fully well he still have some other bills to pay like accommodation, feeding and transport.
The school is Uni of Derby Please I want to ask if it is attainable to raise the rest of the tuition fees which is 5700 pounds within September to January working 20hours
Thanks I’ll await your responses |

Hi, These are 2 different routes,if your company is happy you can work full-time and study part time. My advise, defer your admission, get your skilled workers visa, when you have worked for awhile and hopefully have a good record, discuss with your employer on the possibility of studying part time. This is what I am currently doing, I work full time with a Government department and my PhD research is part time(fully sponsored) Most companies will grant you as long as it doesn't affect their business, they also see this as development and career growth for their employees. The only caveat is that the course may need to be related to your job , that way it is easier to show it will help you become more productive, creative and give you insights on your role. My thoughts though Congratulations.. Cheers Ishoba: Hello @duchess90 and other able gurus. I got a sponsorship offer to work in UK but already have an offer to study too.
Can I go with the work permit and then continue with my study enrollment once I get there or I differ.

You do not know the discussions and policy changes going on in the UK Govt including HO, you don't know how they source their data, you don't what changes it results in It may not affect you but it may affect applications in future,is that what you want? I said what I said..that is a wrong topic to discuss on this forum Cheers Mobil567: lol, you think uk is not aware of this format yet? Not just Nigerians, Indians/Pakistanis publicly share the same on Facebook and other forums. They’re just turning a blind eye now for the gains. They already know that majority will not get PSW. It’s all about the money for them. You ever wondered why they grant more study visas than visit visas? They give with one hand & collect with another. |

Hello, Birth certificate from NPC is preferred but any other birth certificate should be fine as well.People go as far as notarizing it, I don't see the relevance though 2. You can pay via usual debit cards or flywire app 3. Your CAS should say something about your English being assessed the last I remember, if not you may wish to include it 4. Whenever you want, at the same time or later You have to apply for each dependant separately though 5. Yes declare it, they will see it anyway if they choose to check Cheers Peonies: Good morning people. Please help: I am about to commence my visa application and I need guidance on a few things: 1. Do I need my national population birth certificate as proof of birth? 2. How do i source funds for my IHS and Visa fees? Do I have to buy black market or can I use flywire to make the payment? 3. My school did not ask for proof of english language but I got an unconditional offer, do I need to submit my waec certificate during visa application or my CAS would cover for that? 4. How do I apply for my dependants? 5. Is it necessary to declare a visa refusal from Canada during my application?
