There could be a delay in processing refunds, perhaps some admin charges if applicable but schools will refund your money. This has nothing to do with receiving CAS hosey: Ya. Some schools will and some won't depending on the terms of condition especially after receiving CAS. |

Honestly surprised they asked for DBS and police report.. That's usually from employers not schools.. Interesting.... Mosopea: hello house, i just got an offer to study an Msc course starting in january 2021. please:
1 where in lagos can i get the approved police report done 2) where and when can i get a DBS as done the school is asking that i submit it by 10th June. 3) in the offer from the school, they did not mention needing ielts results but i read it on ukgov site that proof of english is compulsory. Do i need to take the ielts exam even though the school dod not mention it on the offer given?
thank you. |

Better than what we obviously have back at home.. Pending on how fast you get a grip of coursework, deadlines, plagiarism, referencing,in some cases group work, case studies, critical analysis and so on. But between both schools Cranfield is tougher and expectations higher In summary the quality of teaching in Coventry is good. ELff: Regardless, what's your thoughts on Coventry in terms of quality of their teaching? |

Just to add, Cranfield has it's own airstrip.. So if you have a private jet you can land in Cranfield duchess90: Hi Eromo, Again experiences differ,Cranfield University basically runs postgraduate(taught masters, masters research and PhD) for now, heard there are plans for undergraduate. it is country side meaning you won't see high rising buildings as much(just 2 or so) .. I was told it used to be a former military base back in the days.. Slightly more expensive in terms of fees but totally worth it. It's cheaper to live in neighborhouring towns like Bedford or Milton Keynes or even Cranfield Village. The location doesn't really create alot of job opportunities for students in the University itself but you can get part time jobs in neighbouring towns and shuttle between. I must say Cranfield has a lot of links with industries ,so many companies have projects running in the school meaning you have access to R&Ds and that's seems like one step into the door for a tier 2company.For example my PhD had 3water utilities sponsoring it. Attend as many events as you can, use the alumni as a reference...explore as much as you can..
That's my 2pence information |

Forgot to add.. If you have leadership skills and want to make a difference.. The student union is a good place to get involved and if you run and win in any key position it may buy you one year extra as a sabbatical officer Just an extra..... duchess90: Hi, I will start by saying experiences differ but I had a great time in Coventry. There's a good blend of Nigerians and other Africans there,so it's easy to adapt when you meet them. Accommodation outside school is cheaper than the ones owned by the Uni.there are lots of menial jobs around, you can easily get jobs in stores at the city center, carehomes or warehouses. My advice is to target the student ambassador jobs with the University, they pay minimum wage and it's a job you can put on your CV and possibly get reference. The city is easy to navigate and live in, Birmingham is close-by for a night out if you want too. Are you starting online with them?
Remember, one year is too short, if you have other plans explore immediately you settle in.
All the best

Okay, wanted to be sure, I won't be able to help unfortunately, I can only comment on Coventry and Cranfield University. Hopefully someone can... ELff: I need insights on Huddersfield and possibly Northumbria University, the city life, possibility of getting student jobs, just about any relevant information. |

Hi ELff, not sure of this, do you need an insight on all 3schools or just Huddersfield? I can help give an insight on Coventry, I'm sure there are many more Cov students here to help as well... ELff: Please i am changing my school due to circumstances beyond my control. I have checked quite a number of other schools, though I have a conditional offer from RGU and Coventry which was my first choice. I want a school in England. University of Huddersfield appeals to me, though I'm not really comfortable with their modules but I can make do with it.
I have read quite a number of different views online about the school but I would love to hear you guys thoughts, possiblity of getting student jobs, the city life, and just any other useful information anyone has. If you have other suggestions on schools too, I wouldn't mind.
Thanks for all your contributions in advance. |

Best bet is to follow official handles and get up to date information.Rumors will be addressed, processes will be clearer. Follow homeoffice, ukvcas and other key handles including your prospective schools. P. S @mikeval I was responding to a question not asking, thanks anyway, it benefits people that need it. Mikeval001: I heard that Canada embassy here is Nigeria had opened or about to open, hopefully UK will follow suit. I've been hearing rumour that when UK opens her boarders, anyone coming into UK from any part of the world except for Ireland will have to go into 14days isolation.
Another update about whether September intake will be online lectures or not.
I got unconditional offer at University of South Wales, the school came up with the idea of having one of the school staff/admin staff for an online IG question and answer very Friday for all her prospective student all over the world. The first one was held yesterday and the question about if the school will be open for physical classroom lectures for September intake was addressed, the school representative said the school is still planning to be open for physical classroom lectures for September and nothing has changed for now and all UK schools are working together. He stressed that this was the main reason why University of South Wales decided to come up with the Q&A online section once every week for her prospective students so that they can have the opportunity to ask questions about their studies in the school and the school will also be able to update prospective students on all update |

Case closed Skymoore1004: No need dragging with madam lagos or ogun , just ignore. I wonder when universities suspended sponsorship for current students as she claimed. She wants to mislead people to work above 20 hours and face consequences later.
It clearly stated nursing and medical students because they needed more hands during the peak of the crisis.
Nothing to drag about or derail the thread over. Anyone that choose to work above 20 hours outside the exempted field, is strictly on his/her own.
Case closed |

If there are universities that have suspended then it applies but be sure before assuming...Again it is not a blanket unlimited working hours* better safe sticking with 20hrs if unsure than sorry* duchess90: I don't want to drag issues.. In the UK I also follow guidance. My attention was you said unlimited working hours.. And I said that referred to nursing and medical field.i didn't bring up sponsors because I am yet to see any University that's has suspended sponsorship?.your first statement was very misleading.
quote author=LagosismyHome post=89472096]
In the UK you go with the guidance and not personal interpretation. This is what the guidance states , sponsor meaning University
Working hours: 20-hour a week restriction lifted for doctors, nurses, paramedics and those whose sponsor has suspended all study. |

I attended Coventry, graduation date is usually three months after course end date. ELff: It is most likely possible. I have eyes on Coventry too. On the conditional offer, it is stated that Resumption date is 7th September and Course end date is 11th September, 2021.
Or does course end date differ from graduation date? |

Thank you to people that called out NDDC for this wickedness in abandoning scholars for over 8months in 2019,and 1year in 2018.
For others that insulted them and wished evil your hand will never hold a scholarship letter .You attract what you wish others. I rest my case |

adefund: Once you are been given scholarship in abroad especially in the United Kingdom, USA or Canada you have the tendency of taking it upon yourself to be fending and sponsoring yourself because the schools there would give you working hours which would enable you to be paying your tuition fee and Bill's installmentally, A friend of mine in Nappier University studying pharmaceutical lab science and he is doing fine over there without complaining of been homeless, hungry or lack of money so don't just take opportunity as a birth right, ire eoo @Adefund, see as your friend deceive you and you swallow lie hook line and sinker.. Let people in the UK tell you as e be. Maybe you dont understand what a scholarship means unfortunately I won't teach you. Go and research |
