And I responded. No, there's no extra way.. Everything in UK is due process, no short cuts. Check your email ELff: |
Hi Elff, saw your previous message about transcript and realized you are going to Coventry. you need to speak directly to the international office about this. If you send an email I can help. That's my Alma mater I know there could be delays in issuing CAS due to high vol of application. ELff: |
Yeah, plus the same rules applies for 28-30days maintenance funds, intl passport, TB perhaps I actually wrote a lot earlier and edited it because I wasn't sure of the exact situation. Now we are I can add by saying having a new born and studying is not so easy, perhaps the mother can defer her admission, take time to heal and let the baby grow abit before starting the visa process, not sure of exposing a little one to immigration and visa processes with COViD situation. Please think this thoroughly girlsupersonic: |
Is Tier 4 not point based ?? Did you look at the link? LaaJiblik: |
Please find link https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/apply-visa-type/dependant?_ga=2.197929455.1707834442.1594639306-1598192951.1594639306 Cheers Yimi4real: |
Send an email, stating you had earlier been booked and request a new date if possible, your record is already on the system so starting afresh will mean two bookings. Follow up with a phone call if you can and pray there is available slot toyclicks: |
A friend sent this screenshot to me, she had her booking before the lockdown, guess it is going to be first for people who had their appointment cancelled before new applications. Thought to share. Cheers

Hi, 1.The IOM certificate will be in her name. 2.No it will not be rejected in the visa application because you will submit your marriage certificate which binds it all together and proves that she is your wife and dependant. 3.There's nothing to worry about Cheers Plus21: |
@Elff You need to speak to your school about the situation and try to meet up the rest of any pending conditions on your offer letter. Some schools will accept your original certificate and allow you to enroll while waiting for your transcript.Especially with the COVID situation, i think a solid email to the administration team will do the work. Remember to set the ball rolling so that once your Undergrad school resumes admin activities, your transcript will be processed. I noticed in your previous post you said you will switch courses during enrollment, please double check that this can be done before proceeding as well, some schools are really strict on this and some departments may require more information than the others. Confirm again that this is possible or request a new offer for your preferred choice Cheers ELff: |
There's a lot of confusion to be honest in proving Academic Progression..I think the schools are the ones that judge..Whatever criteria they use we don't know. But i think they need to see that and justify that before they issue CAS. I am talking based on my own experience, i had a bit of delay getting my transcript from my Masters to get my admission for PhD, and even though both schools are in the UK,Cranfield refused given me a CAS until they saw my results completing masters and proving academic progression. Who knows what goes on behind the scene and the boxes they need to tick for this. |
Hi @Uche06 1.Yes you can, but read through the information on the maintenance requirements for a dependant @mimilyrics did justice to that 2. Can you do a run through on Google to see if you can find Universities with low tuition and dig further to see how much is accepted as deposit. 3. You need to figure out the tuition, courses, degree and the school you'll settle in before part time work opportunities ..again Google is your friend Hope it helps Cheers uche06: |
No worries, I have kids so I understand when I see tantrums.. We move Cheers..

|
Hi @ekaita If you haven't gotten a proper and direct answer, speak to other students in these schools because the questions you are asking are general questions that undergrads and postgrads can answer , if there's a WhatsApp forum for these schools join in,if they have Ambassadors speak to them. Addressing a few more, 1.You can modify details of your PhD study along the way 2. Systems are in place in schools to check if your supervisor is a racist or isn't supportive enough 3. Most PhD programs have more than one supervisor ( a primary and a co-supervisior) 4. You need a good rapport with your supervisor yes, but you call the shots because it is your research, the first year they help to guide,2nd year you are at par,3rd year it is your show 5.Doing your PhD doesn't limit your opportunity to get a job, for one thing it gives you a foot into the academia if you are interested in that field. 6.The grading for PhD is not same for masters( this one na another day talk) Doing a PhD I agree is very stressful but if it is what you want don't let anyone here discourage you Again if there are other things I can share from my study experience so far..please send an email i'll respond. Cheers ekaita: |
I woke up to see a fight here and there but will address you directly @hosey If you have read my comments before now,you will see and understand I say the truth as it is I have not used a strong word on anyone and I refuse to accept it either.. Don't use the word 'deceive ' on any of my post I beg you..I am not cut out for that. ![]() Are you doing a PhD? Are you attending any of those schools? Allow people that have the experience to talk if you don't. You mustn't react to every post..and when you are wrong be wise and accept it Again I am addressing exactly what you said to me here. The end.. hosey: |
I am probably sure the OP put all that into consideration and understand what it takes. I don't think its fair to discourage him or her with personal opinions. @Ekaita, Unfortunately i am not in any of those schools but i am doing my PhD too.. Let me know if you have other questions. Cheers hosey: |
Smart Choice @vik15, All the best Vik15: |
Most Universities may loose their Tier 4 license , therefore they take things like this seriously. Apart from enrolling, attendance is strictly monitored in most schools, if your attendance reduces and you start missing lectures, the tier 4 or international team will notify you and perhaps request a reason, if it continues, they will remind you again about your attendance. If they don't hear from you, they'll report it to the home office and remove the wahala from themselves. Some schools even request international students to come physically with their documents from time to time (even after enrollment). Attendance is a big deal when you start studying SAMDEEA123: |
Hi, No, schools won't allow you to enroll if their policy is 50% total tuition paid no matter how much story you tell and how much you beg. Mind you, most international office gives a report to the UKVI after enrollment detailing students who have enrolled and those who didn't. At that point, your staying in the UK is at your risk and will be classified illegal since you didn't report and enroll into school thereby breaching immigration laws. Please think thoroughly on this, if funds aren't available, defer and save more. It's better All the best Vik15: |
I see @justwise has responded but just to add... You will still have to attend Visa processes and submit necessary documentations e.g for visit or study visa elsewhere regardless of your UK Tier 4 BRP card. So changing destination means you will go through other countries visa process and will be given appropriate visa category if successful, if you want to visit France for example you will apply for Schengen Visa in the UK, submit documents and go for biometrics and you will be given the 3months appropriate visit visa and will be expected to return back to the UK to continue studying or working or back home, pending on the situation. I know @Skymoore can be abit harsh...but the reality is that, you need to have a clear cut idea of what you aim to achieve and start working on it immediately, otherwise, as UK dey quick give visa to study, dem dey quick make you finish studies and remind you to return. @Skymoore please be sensitive ![]() anthonanik: |
Unfortunately, we don't have automated student loan system like the UK has for their citizens, collecting a loan is not an easy process, you have to have some earnings and pay back system to work with. I doubt you will get much answers here to be honest... You should be speaking with Financial Institutions, since you sent a mail, go directly to your account officer and seek advice. they are the ones to help. Perhaps attempt to look out for fully funded scholarships such as Commonwealth and Chevening, if it doesn't work, Plan and Save up..Delay is not denial Movinghigher: |
1. Follow up with a call and email this morning, i am guessing there is a high volume of TB request as expected 2. Double check that fee, should be slightly more( i think 6120), and Yes your account 3. Attach your marriage certificate to her application, she doesn't need to apply for a new passport and again, the statement should come from you. 4. Just ensure your sons name reflects on your application, can't remember but there should be an option where you can choose if they will accompany you or not, you can select NO, i doubt if you need further explanation on this. Others can jump on with more advice. Cheers adeniyy01: |
Yes you can pay with your Nigerian Visa or MasterCard, the USD equivalent will be deducted 2. Can you request for student's copy of transcript (which is yours and given by hand) That should help 3greatnations: |
Still means, the tution is no longer available or reduced? Isn't that correct? If I understand clearly, the evidence your school is requesting for is the bank statement showing tution and maintenance funds. mdeeokoye p[b: |
But there's nothing to laugh about though ...I am here to help @Laajiblik when it's time..just felt the info will be better applied by that time, also so we don't derail the thread. mattfeuter: |
No be small, have you done yours? if No, take am i trust you...you will handle it pretty well mimilyrics: |
The Student Ambassador roles are HOT cakes in most Uni 1. Their roles depends on the department, for example if you are a student ambassador with Admissions department you will be involved with Open days in schools and talking to prospective student, Environment department will be promoting environmental events, International Office will be working with foreign students and so on.. It depends on your department. Nevertheless, you will receive appropriate training for the task. 2. From answer 1. 3. Usually minimum wage , you won't get more than 20hours 4. How to apply will be from your school, when you enroll and have access to like a news page or announcements and so on. 5. Again its a really good experience, good exposure to UK working system, pending on the school you might do an interview, group work or presentation etc, there are some shifts that are really fun and then you could get a reference letter when your done I hope this helps.. Cheers nobleudeme: Hello all, please I'd like to know more about the Student Ambassador role in Universities, their roles, what they do, how they are paid, number of hours, how you apply for it and all |
Plus the road to getting a driver's license is no joke... I have my driving test coming up soon, tension just dey everywhere( lol), meanwhile i been dey drive for Naija oh mtchewwww mimilyrics: |
This one pass my power..@sandra50 did you see the previous advice about knowing the course you want to study?and the breakdown on maintenance funds etc ... I give up sandra50: |
To be honest,we just have to see how things pan out for new intakes..I know alot of schools are engaging with prospective students now, people have raised this up and there are considerations on providing quarantine accommodation till enrollment for free or at fair cost and then after that you either enter full rental agreement with school's accommodation or leave to find yours. I guess you have to look out for what might be attainable at your school. All the best SegunWamiri: |
That's fine..First assignment 1) what subject are you interested in and have passion for and what is your budget 2) Look for schools and courses in the UK that fit that budget, use Google to do so. 3)Check to see what the course content is, the degree awarded ,school fees etc and then write the top 3 you might consider.. Come back to the house for more direction..You need to take it one day/information at a time Your next post should be ,I am considering School A,School B or School C..then we continue with more assignments . You will get there if you are patient and do your part in searching sandra50: |
To add to what others are saying ..What exactly would you want to do 1)Study in the UK? 2) Visit the UK? 3) Work in the UK? You can't want to do all of them sandra50: |
jaeybee98:Have you tried sending an email on this enquiry? https://www.hcpc-uk.org/contact-us/registration/, if you scroll down the link there is an email address there. That should clarify your doubts if any Cheers |
