http://www.bbc.co.uk/wales/radiowales/sites/allthingsconsidered/updates/20080727.shtml In "All Things Considered" this week (Sunday 27 July 8:30am, repeated Wednesday 30 July, 6:30pm) Peter Baker talks to the man who has made history for the Apostolic Church in the UK. Born and brought up in Lagos, and witness to the horrors of the Nigerian civil war as a boy whilst being separated from his parents, Emmanuel Mbakwe emerged many years later in Britain to study law. He went on to build a career in the world of business consultancy and marketing and recently assumed a significant role in the Church. He talks to Peter Baker about his life and faith ahead of his visit to Wales next week when, on the campus of Swansea University, he will be officially installed as the National Leader of the Apostolic Church UK, the first person of African heritage in its 92 year old history to do so. Also in the programme we hear about Hope 08, a faith in action project which has captured the imagination of the police, politicians and the business community. In a society of increasing knife crime, alienated teenagers and pressure on under funded social services, a sense of national despair is sometimes palpable. But what difference can the Church make? And at a time when the Church itself is struggling to survive, are such high profile initiatives the most effective use of limited resources? |
Ok, 1. what did Nigeria do wrong? 2. what did virgin do wrong? |
shilling:Stop decieving yourself Try having regular electricity supply first so you can see clearly |
Those who celebrate thieves are thieves. Therefore, Nigerians have to be classed as thieves ![]() |
Yes. Lesbianism is an abominable alternative to normal human lifestyle |
SeanT's email address: affiWHITE2@yahoo.com Her post: Whites do not have a higher crime rate that blacks!!! |
South Ossetia is a break away region and Ossetians have, more or less become, Russians - carrying Russian passports. Should Russia look on while Georgia annexes Ossetia? I seem to recall Britain in Falklands. . . what was that about? |
madamkoko:does that make it right? |
They dont care. . . but they'll lie that it's just love |
I think it goes both ways. Guys do want to go back too sometimes just for the fun of it. |
The post is a glorification of very unethical feminine behaviour. someone needs to remind me to ALWAYS advise no man I know to get too serious with any woman who is a nairaland regular. The prevalent thought system on here is not very good for any healthy relationship if one wants a life-long marriage/relationship |
Such incredulity can only be found in the midst of people who dont know where their priorities should be. Senseless fund raising |
I notice since the talks started that the British media dont really say anything again. Maybe Morgan let them down |
If the man don chop money like goat, make dem put am for kirikiri biko |
@Sean T I have read a few of your posts. What do you call yourself on http://www.stormfront.org/forum/? I am sure you're an active member there |
DeepZone:Let's just say yes |
lindabong:@linda oblongbrain with your kind of language and rant, i now understand why you are unable to reason logically. |
Russia probably feels justified because the other powers have no moral right to speak too loudly. It's a shame that what seems to work on earth now is brute force. America used it all around. Israel used it severally and now Russia is using it too. weep for the world. The Georgian govt is also silly. They rushed troops to Iraq to kill Iraqis not realising that what befell Iraqis can also befall them. The world is bonkers! |
It's typical NAIJA. Everyone wants to steal money because that's the only way to get positive recognition from the masses, even it means throws the same stupid masses into further poverty. |
Gamine:WHO made any other man a man of God? This man's life has contributed to the salvation of many souls; and that is very important in my opinion. |
@Gamine it matters if you disappoint me. However the man has consistently said his wife just does not want to live in Nigeria again and since she left Nigeria she has not returned. |
RSA:Let the Nigerians there watch it with you and your white friends |
The fashion which dictates that girls need to show their bodies is ridiculous. It just makes me see them as cheap sluts. You only used to see such people when you walked past Ojuelegba or drive through VI at night |
I am currently wearing my rainbow pants and the singlet I bought at Tejuosho |
RSA/Banga soup RSA:It's very laughable and childish of you to bring in the issue of affordability and I wont go there with you. Of course Europeans will feel safer in SA than I will because South Africans have a deep fear/respect for white people whereas they'd kill a fellow black person for a penny. Please enjoy it with your white masters. |
@Gamine I am disappointed. You always seemed to impress me. Is the man the husband of more than one wife? |
many of you here have no need to change your surnames because it wont be long till you are with another man so it's pointless having to change your surname as you'll have to change again when you marry the next man ![]() |
Go and ask Ogun State civil servants what they think of Osoba. The man should keep quiet jare. His wife was the tyrant, though unelected, in Ogun State. na wa for the woman yet her children na real spoilt ajebota dem. Osoba should Meshionu |
@ Mbaga or whatever your name is Have you been sent to this forum on a mission? or you just want some naija babe? I wont be in SA for the world cup because I have always believed that, I can get killed for 50p as a black man. None of my African friends is planning to attend although many attended the one in Germany. No one wants to get killed by the gun-totting South African junkies |
