I don tell dem o, it was when they were about to start abusing my family that I left them alone. You only need to watch Bebe and Obertan for 10 mins to know which one of them can make it at the top level. Like a friend of mine says, Bebe is still at least 3 years away from PL Quality performances. Of all the attacking oriented youngsters in Manure, only Hernandez and Obertan have it in them to be exceptional, Cleverly can become a starting MF. I'm not totally convinced about Diouf and Marcheda making it but they might become steady squad players but Bebe? I can only

Slim is right - that is a clear lack of awareness. . . . you don't lose allow a man to run freely at your goal regardless of whether Clichy had the ball or not - it could be intercepted, or miskicked, opening up a chance for Dudu to score.

It was a counter Debo, only the back line was probably in position, there will always be times people will be out of position in trying to go forwards, Clichy should have cleared the ball cos he should have been aware other players were out of position. Eastmond wasn't the only one out of position and running back facing our goal, all the other MFs were also out of position. Only he, the GK and CBs were back to goal and could see play as it developed.
Eastmond wasn't good yesterday and I don't know why he was on the pitch anyway as I would have preferred Lansbury but he wasn't responsible for the 2nd goal, that was solely Clichy's fault and he should get the blame.

I doubt if he'll ever convince me and I expect his career to mirror Michael Owen's if some things don't change.

Having said that, there are times when all you need is the raw pace and cool finishing ability and Theo has always had that, he can only learn a bit more from Gareth Bale on how to make that pace a more deadly weapon.

Which goes to team defense, Clichy's silly error would have been nullified by a simple case of eastmond tracking his man.

I disagree slightly Slim, it was a counter and all our lads thought Clichy had control of the ball and didn't expect him to lose it. Clichy should have gone for a safety first approach.

I'll be dropping by at Myles' blog to get some good laughs also tomorrow, but honestly if Gibb's was fit and I was manager, walahi Clichy go warm bench small. Nicky B also got a reality check tonite.
If only I was certain our boys would learn from all these early season errors, I would be glad we are making them now and not early next year, but with players like Clichy, one can only hope and pray.

Why do some of our players always seem to never learn? Clichy ultimately cost us this game with what you could call an unforced error.

Poor, poor, poor, this is almost like WBA all over again. Its a bit of a patched up team but that is no excuse. Clichy deserves any barbs aimed in his direction because he just refuses to learn from his past mistakes and that is so sad to see in a player that is so committed.

Horrible MF performances yet again from Eastmond and Rosicky, I'm praying Arsene doesn't play them against Wigan. Wilshere is the only one who looks like he knows what he is doing in MF.

For a guy that knows his worth and aint afraid to prove it how else can he do this if he's not given a chance, considering that Characters like Almunia get said chances. My beef with Szczesny is his moaning to the press, players should learn to keep quiet and do their talking, even the much maligned Rooney didn't come out to the press until Fergie decided to cry like a baby to the court of public opinion. He is an outstanding prospect no doubt, is it not the same Arsene who said he is a future number 1? 
If the likes of Debo have their way, he wouldn't even keep for Arsenal until he is knocking 30 and has kept for another PL club, how many 20 year olds are actually keeping for a club of Arsenal's class? He will get his chance, Arsene is one of the few Managers who give such promising young players chances so he should just get on with it and stop making unnecessary noise.

I see him as a potentially exceptional keeper who deserves a chance to stake a claim for a shirt but that doesn't give him the right to be stalling on a contract and then mouthing off to the press in poland that he won't sign a new contract until he has assurances that he will play. What sort of rubbish is that? was Fabianski a mumu to wait for his chance despite having been a regular for Legia Warsaw for 2 years before coming to Arsenal at all.
It is a priviledge he has an opportunity to play for us and not the other way round. The boy should just sign his contract and stop making unnecessary noise in the papers or else I'll organise a hoodie gang home visit like the type that got Rooney to change his mind.

We are doing fine joo, we are just getting to the difficult part of the season where I think we can pull away, I think this season our main competition is Chelsea. This team has everything in it to be successful now and they need to show it. Even our GK worries is starting to clear up with Fabianski's extended run and Kos and Squill have been improvements over Silvestre and even Big Sol.

Our MF has usually been well stacked and Chamakh has completed our front complement, like Slim pointed out another year of experience has made our strength in depth up their with the best (how many teams can have a player of RVP's caliber out and still be able to put a player of Bendtner's calibre on the bench?) so its not likely we'll be the ones running out of steam this season, we've gone to 2 places where we dropped points last season (Sunderland and City) and came back with points, we've beaten one of the bigger teams (City) and should soon be off to Manure to go and beat another big team. We've also already learnt our lesson early not to be complacent by losing to a weak team WBA so we are not likely to have a repetition.

We might not win the PL this season as I still think it depends on our Chelsea fares with injuries to their first 11 but our boys are stepping up fast and only need to get it into their heads that they are at the least as good as the best if not better.

Szczesny is starting to get too big for his boots, maybe we made an hero of him too soon, he hasn't done anything and wants to hold us over a barrel to play him before he signs  . If that boy doesn't sign that contract they should send him back to the reserves abeg, he is starting to talk too much.
What rubbish, Arsenal is bigger than any player joo.

To be honest eldee, I think they are currently leveraging on their history which gives them the ability to still attract quality players even though they now seem to be forming an association of the washed up, disgruntled and unwanted (Ronaldinho, Robinho, and Ibra). Its been a while a trophy has graced AC's cabinet (not as long as ours though) and they are not the force they once were in the Serie A.

One thing you have to understand though, is that the Uniteds and the Milans won't sit and watch a Liverpool drop every year.
I see them using their power to influence UEFA, especially when the next election comes around, it's bigger than investment for teams like Milan and Barcelona, it's national pride . . . the UEFA regulations won't last, you'll see.

I think Milan has already waned as a European super power, their financial muscle was reduced immediately Serie A went with the PL common pot system, when last can you recall Milan making a major signing unlike those times in the past they and Juve along with RM and Ajax with their impressive youth academy were the world powers.

Actually most of them supported the FFP rules, but like you say I expect them to find ways to circumvent it, it is still a step in the right direction though and we are not likely to see a brazen buying of success again in the future like happened with Chelsea.

RM and the other big guns will always be powerful even if it is only the player pull they have with their historical success, but they've also got to be more realistic with their spending now and there will be enough room for the prudent and smart to give them bloody noses every now and then rather than chasing useless dreams that will only lead to ruin.

Gloat about what? If and when Arsenal wins 2 or 3 titles because on AW's direction to the detriment of other teams then there'll be something to gloat about. To gloat now is simply delusional. Beating teams in the CC and being second in October is nothing to be excited about. No one on this thread has argued that Wenger's direction was wrong, what we've commented about is his abject failure to make small modifications to his theories that will bring success.

That is why he remains a very good coach and not an excellent one.

I wasn't really referring to gloating in terms of results, what I was referring to was our arguments last season about Arsenal embarking on a youth project post the invincibles regime. According to you at that point Arsene had just lost the plot and wandering in the dark while I insisted there was a deliberate plan taken at the board level to shift the focus of competition from buying the best available players to developing the best available youth instead and giving them opportunity to progress into the first team.
To be honest and give credit where its due, Fergie was the first to make a success of this with his Fledglings (though he did have the leverage to get the best youth in England at that time before the FA introduced the 10 mile rule and Arsene wasn't in the picture) but he didn't have the balls to go up against Abramovic's billions with the same plan while Arsene was.

Secondly, I see no reason for Utd to sign players in January either. They are winning games now with their biggest players on the sidelines judging by last season - Giggs and Rooney. Those players are coming back, and we all know Utd get better in the second half of the season so it's extremely premature to b commenting about a lack of signings at Utd.

You are right, it is still early days, but like they say if yu wait to hear the sound of the bullet before yu dodge it, then you'll likely never get the opportunity to dodge it. Foresight is a very scarce commodity but we all have the benefit of hindsight, only its never of much use than for story telling.

To be honest, one thing I could never understand is why more people didn't see it coming, It dawned on me a while ago when Arsene made a statement that you cannot continue to spend 2 pounds everyday if yu only make 1 pound. For every Chelsea that is successful, there are 3 or 4 portsmouths either in trouble or tethering on the brink.

The Abu Dhabi group could continue spending that money without breaking a sweat for the next 10 years and would eventually have overtaken everyone but even Abramovic had to come to the conclusion that it was a bridge to nowhere after some time and writing off some of his personal fortunes, I told someone once that A billionaire at 40 might not remain a billionaire in his life time if he continues to bleed .5 billion every 2-3 years. We would have seen more Portsmouth like meltdowns if not for the FFP rules, there has to be a levelling of grounds somehow or football was headed for some serious problems.

reality has bitten Fergie on the butt cheek, the days of free money from vain benefactors are a long time agone, its only Man Shitty and Real Madrid bucking the trend at present and their days are numbered, FFP rules will catch up with City and the common purse negotiations in La Liga will soon force Real Madrid to live in the real world.
Barca already have a productive academy and should do fine, Real have gone for young stars like Oezil and Khedira to stem the tide but IMO, they are living on borrowed time, their culture in that club is just totally wrong and elitist, its a wonder its perpetuated it for so long in these times.

On another note, I have a sneaking suspicion Fergie will leave Manure soon not to soil his legacy, the signs are already there with this Rooney debacle, by the time Austerity really starts biting at Manure, people go hear weeeeehn. I know Fergie will cooly negotiate his way out and get his fawning media admirers to do his dirty work for him by placing all the blame with the Glazers by accusing them of breaking promises they made to keep Rooney.

No need to worry, I am currently on sabbatical. The gospel of prudent financial spending has been espoused far and wide and is now the in thing cos people now see the benefits that Lord Wenger saw ages ago, Arsenal have already smiled to the bank and others are coming rather late when the party is rounding up.  

Gloating aint my thing and I don't expect Debo to own up to being wrong about the direction Arsenal as a club took and pioneered since after the invincibles, I understand it simply aint the African way.

the only team I'm not sure of Chamakh scoring against up there is Inter and even Barcelona with Messi had a difficult task scoring against them, Chamakh scored against Milan in the emirates cup (though you could argue that was not a serious tournament but he still did it)

Is Doki really saying Bendy is better than Chamakh? or that he likes certain aspects of his game better than Chamakh's and that he will likely overtake Chamakh in the long term?
I find it hard to believe anyone can say Bendy is better than Chamakh as things stand now, Chamakh's returns blows that view dead in the waters abeg.

I don't think Ibime is saying Nik is better than Bendtner, anyone who says that should prolly be taken out and shot. He's just delving into the final details in differences between both players.

Only the FA can say o, both he and Frimpong represented England last at U17 level, when coming through the academies he never settled in a position (I recall he has played CB, LB, LM and Playmaker in the academy) so was not known to be a specialist in any position and was often overlooked because Wilshere and Lansbury got most of the hype in the youth teams. The FA selection seems to follow a sort of quota from the teams, because Arsenal had so many good players some of the good players like Frimpong and JET got overlooked I presume.
Its just the same way Aneke is getting overlooked at present, prolly because McEachran is being fast tracked by Chelsea.

Anyways, good enough, at least we have those three players to choose from.

You can add Ramsey to that list when he is back from injury. Hope he comes back whole. Rozza has been disappointing when he's been needed, though you still see the flashes of brilliance.

I don't want to say too much about JET but I think even AW is scared of using the guy cos if that guy has 45 mins of top class football, Im not sure anyone in that team will bench him (now this is not overhype. The guy is good). Even in the five minutes he had yesterday, he would have scored a goal if only Theo was in the same frequency with him. Replace Theo with Cesc or Wilshere and he would have got a 1 - 2 pass back to give him an all clear on goal. And did anyone see when he tried to dribble the entire Newcastle defence and only lost to the last man?

A friend of mine didn't know JET until the pre-season games but after watching one of our pre-season matches where both JET and Chamakh played, he called and said if he didn't know Chamakh and he was asked as a stranger to pick out the much publicised multi million striker Arsenal had just signed, he said he would have pointed out JET rather than Chamakh on the strength of his performance for the day. Such is the quality of the boy.
I'm however willing to trust Arsene's judgement, there must be a reason he has chosen not to play him yet but atimes his action at certain times in games shows how much he rates certain players. 1-0 down at Chelsea with time running out, Arsene makes a change and who does he bring on?
