The question is whether the rivals can sustain/improve their form or whether Utd will steam roller them in the new year.
The only factor that can make this Manure team steam roll anyone is if they buy in January. That asides I can almost say that they are overachieving with their playing staff at present.

Brilliant !

at least, I remember being the 1st to ask then what will happen when Nic comes back and the reason I do/did ask was cos: u and I know in the past what we have/had said about these players, Nic especially . . . .so can u pls advice these irritants masquerading as concerned voltrons of Chamakh to get off my case ?
being co-gunners doesnt mean we should be jumping into others' convos I believe, I remember not wanting to jump into your convo on monetary affairs and sustenability models with Duduface grin grin
Dr Kit,

Such it is on the present day gooner forum (and I don't think its really a bad thing)  grin grin, I remember my continuing travails with my criticism of Theo and some hard knocks I got on this forum. Other's are present to give us a hard knock when we go overboard with criticism I guess. A lot of people see your points about Chamakh's directness, he is not exactly a Torres or Drogba but he has instantly fitted well into the team and delivered, in addition, most fans usually have a soft spot for players who work their socks off (which is why most turned against Adebayor in the end), take Kuyt of Liverpool as an example.

I also totally accept your point about MC29 and Bendtner's presence in the same team being one too many of the same type of striker, I remember my review of him last season saying he was a Bendtner upgrade (and Debo saying we didn't need such a player) to be honest if NB52 had fully delivered last season, there wouldn't really have been a need to get MC29 which is why Arsene was not willing to pay that 12M Bordeaux demanded and waited for his availability on a free, maybe Bendtner himself senses this and that is why he is being vocal about his discontent (to attract suitors perhaps?).

IMO, if B52 wants to go, he can cos I think we have a player in the ranks who can get to or surpass his level in 2 - 3 seasons and needs playing time while RVP and MC29 fill the gap in the interim and you and I know who that player is, but we also have to consider our injury woes to which MC29 has seemed immune so far. Like Arsene says, fitness is also a sign of quality and that is one of the things to be considered when comparing the 2 players.

@Mystikal
Based on that run of games, if we are in the same position we are now on the 27th of December, then we can go all the way this season and win the PL.

My best move of yesterday was when Prince Nas took the ball from around the centre circle, proceeded on a 'Theolike' run,
Went round Jagielka like he was a Non-living thing and his shot was only stopped by a briliant effort by Howard.
Fantastic!
Nas has that in him, we need to see more of it and here is hoping we do.

@Dr. Kit
We all need Jesus, and a nice bottle of Shekpe too so we don't hang ourselves on the cross with our own hands. You no hear wetin Prof talk, "if yu're not impressed by Chamakh then you must be a very difficult person to please", I know yu aint a Chamakh fan and to be honest some of your reasons are genuine but abeg no right thinking manager will start NB52 ahead of MC29, if anything Chamakh can learn to be a bit more selfish but the way he allows all the other players to come into play is remarkable, don't you see the spring in Arshavin's steps when he plays with Chamakh?

Immediately I saw that team list, I knew Chelsea was in trouble with that backline. I hope Sunderland can hold on for the win. And Ivanovic shouldn't even be on the pitch anyway.
Seems Chelsea's squad depth is finally starting to haunt them, they'd better be active in January, that Chelsea bench looks almost like an Arsenal bench would look 2 seasons ago, avg age of 20? WTF.

Not yet Cech/Reina quality but definitely above Almunia quality and can still be better with game time. Decision making is his weak point

Unecessary tension yet again at the end when all we needed to do was to not give them hope, but then Everton no be moi moi club so good win in the end. This chelsea backline looks effy today so lets hope Sunderland can do us a favour so that we're the only ones who gain from this weekend.

Only in pre-intimacy's orgasmically  disordered brain would a player complaining about not getting playing time be seen as fleeing a sinking ship. I feel for Nick but if he can't get playing time here and a club shows us the hard cash, me I'll say we should cash in joo. (anything from 8m with correct sell on clauses should be good enough) but who knows when the injury jinx will strike again?
Will give us time to bed in JET and we've still got Chamakh and RVP anyway with Theo also angling to come central and they should be good for at least another 3 - 4 years.

I suspect Mancini will go for a 4-3-1-2 once he knows who best can play with Tevez (probably Balotelli) with Silva creating just behind the front two. If he gets that right, they'll be difficult to score against and may rack up points with 1-0 and 2-0 victories.
Right on the money Debo, I think this is where he is headed, with De Jong, Barry and Milner in the 3 man MF, they'll be a difficult team to handle, Mourinho started that nonsense in the PL with Chelsea. No wonder, they've frozen out AJ outta the team.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by duduspace(m): 7:46pm On Nov 11, 2010
Why is Chamo moaning like someone who's caught his woman in bed with another man? it is Mancini's business how he chooses to play, let his employers be the ones to judge if he's using their acquisitions wisely. At the end of the day the scores was 0-0 isn't that all that matters?  undecided

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by duduspace(m): 9:34pm On Nov 10, 2010
Debo, I get your point, a yellow card at the most would have been acceptable for that tackle, that is in no way an 'obvious goal scoring opportunity' but we take our punishment and move on, besides it wasn't game defining.
A more obvious foul with similar player positions occured in Chelsea v Liverpool involving Alex and Ngog I think and all Alex got was a yellow. Ranger went down easy but I don't blame him, Chamakh would have gone down as well, but if the ref had given a yellow, no one would be asking for a red or even complaining.

I'm definitely sure if it was Manure, he wouldn't have given a red when they couldn't even give one that occured in the box against Vidic in a CC final.  undecided

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only by duduspace(m): 6:56pm On Nov 10, 2010
To be honest, Arsene did say that it is now more difficult for young ones to come in because those ahead of them are quite young as well. Wilshere was fortunate to have put in the performances he did and Cesc being absent at the beginning of the season gave him some opportunity. JET will get his chance but Arsene had better act soon before the poor lad becomes another Randall on the bench.

We where woeful from start to finish and for the umpteenth time this team aint ready.[/quote]This team has to go and sit down and really tell themselves what they want, there are no more excuses this season. This team is good enough in terms of personel. You can't win the league if the manager has rested players during the week and the team still comes out and play like this.
It is looking very bad when Wilshere starts to look better than Cesc both in terms of urgency, ball retention and passing, early days yet but it might be better to really go all out for that Carling cup.
The only good thing (if it can really be considered good) is that the usual culprits (Diaby and Denilson) are not around to carry the can so our usual golden boys can go ahead with some soul searching. Cesc had something akin to a Diaby off day today and MC29 really could do with a little bit more selfishness, Theo (what can I say?) was only being himself, while Fabianski reverted to type (I don't like players who don't learn either from their own mistakes or others).
The only players who covered themselves with any glory today were Wilshere, Nasri and maybe Song, the defence was good and Kos was unlucky with the red.
Thoroughly bad day again at the office, what has gone wrong when we play at the emirates?
And dare I forget to credit Newcastle, they got their tactics right and stuck to their defensive duties like robots, we can't complain about this loss, it was totally of our own making just like WBA.

yet, more sterling idiocy to display to all and sundry. nani is no longer a youngster cos he's 23, but clichy was a youngster 2 years ago(at 23). arsenal fans shift the post to suit their own agenda. nani is a youngster. when wenger had a dozen of players at 23 playing in domestic cup competitions, his excuse was he was playing kids and they lost because they were kids.
Do you realise that this Nani yu're making noise about here is 6 months older than Cesc Fabregas and will clock 24 this month? when we refer to youngsters at Arsenal now, we are no longer referring to the set of Cesc/Song/Denilson/Diaby who apart from Diaby are all younger than Nani. We are talking about the new generation of Wilshere/Ramsey/Lansbury/JET on the fringes of the first team. Those are the ones I'm talking about not Nani's set. Nani is no longer on the fringes, he is a main man at Manure now and all due credit to him has done good but is still some way off CR9's standard of sustained success at the top level.

Cougar:
without a doubt, bebe is far better than vela.
bebe has scored 2 goals in as little as 2 starts, 2 sub appearances. no one is claiming he's world class yet. just like no one knew cristiano would become world class when he joined man utd as an erratic winger.
No one knew he would become a WPOY but only dumber's bosom buddy would have doubted him becoming world class for a player representing his country in the Euros as a teenager having represented Portugal at almost all age groups, it was obvious the ability was there, the only thing you couldn't account for was off field issues and injury problems.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: Red Devils' Zone! by duduspace(m): 9:07pm On Nov 06, 2010
Cougar:
but bebe has outscored arsenal's best winger(rosicky) this season.  only hernandez and obertan have it in them to be exceptional and yet nani is still 23, anderson is 22, welbeck 19, mame diouf 22. there is morrison, pogba, nick ajose, william keane, etc waiting in the wings.
your uncanny ability to sprout rubbish is legendary. more power to your elbow!
New name, same attitude, it is only a Saumoronic element who would call Rosicky Arsenal's best winger this season, Rozza has been good but he is getting to that state of diminishing returns that comes with age, we only hope he finds his best form again before he calls it a day. When Bebe starts for Portugal then you can begin to try to compare him to Rosicky.
If you noticed the players I mentioned rather than reading your own agenda into it, you would know I picked only those on the fringes of the first team (about to break through), no one calls Nani a youngster anymore these days as he is already 23 and a first teamer. Will Keane is as good as McEachran IMO but unfortunately cannot be fast tracked by Manure cos of those ahead of him.
