You don't mean it. |
tintingz:Oh so now the only government that is capable of maltreating it's people is only a DICTORTORSHIP? what a joke! You are telling us as long as it's a democracy then all is well. But what happen to Muhammad Morsi's government? Wasn't he democratically elected? All of these REBELLIONS as you called them started as a peaceful protest even world war II! The wisdom behind discouraging the protest is that will most certainly escalate to chaos and disorderliness and at the end it's the same impatient masses that will suffer it more than the leaders. I don't know whether you are a Muslim, But obedience to constituted authority in Islam can never be over emphasized. And the worst thing followers could do is to rebel against a government, and the first step to rebellion is open protest. |
Empiree:Assalamu alaiykum, I've been following your discussion, but can't help to disagree with you. You see of every command the prophet gave, it must have been the very best solution for such a problem. Ironically the Syrian example you gave and any other upraising and insurgency in Muslim countries can be traced to the so called "PEACEFUL PROTEST" it may give a temporary solution like the OP admitted and like you pointed out, but it's never the best solution. Mind you even Shi'a started as a peaceful protest and today the Muslim world is devastated from Iraq to Syria to Turkey to Libya all because a people were instigated to go out on the street and protest against their leaders. Today what would you prefer they do? Be patient and try to keep sending delegations to give Nasiha to leaders like Gaddafi, Al Assad and Saddam (notwithstanding their faults) or trooped the streets like they did? They chose the former and am sure they are now regretting it. And no matter how you try to keep a protest peaceful, it's highly likely that it gets hijacked by criminals, and as a participant you carry some degree of responsibility. And at the end it's the out come that matters. |
Sirheny007:Did I lie? |
Crysallis:My brother help me ask them o! If Yahya Jammeh can be persuaded to step down with a 4% margin of votes, then I don't see how Ize Iyamu intends to achieve the reverse. |
Nice article. Vile islmophobes would prefer to paint the opposite picture quoting verses mischievously. Anyway anybody interested in knowing how Islam commands the treatment of non Muslims (instead of relying of misinterpreted Qur'anic verses) shall read up on historic facts about cosmopolitan communities in early Islam especially the reigns of the four guided Caliphs. Non-Muslim destitutes were not only exempted from paying Jizya, but are even paid a stipend from the Caliphate treasury. The only situation where a non-Muslim would be attacked is when they try to conspire or wage war against the Caliphate, which from security perspective is treason. And no society can afford an enemy within. That's why during and after the Crusades many Eastern Christians and Jews actually aligned with Muslims to defend their cities in which they were living peacefully. And the crusaders butchered them indiscriminately in the cities they were able to conquer. |
Madam we all know that, wasn't the same Kuje prison class rep who was caught with prostitutes few hours after he left you? Madam him no send you anything o? |
Hmmm interesting... Ipods will not like this! Good thing they have a way twisting and believing what they like to make them feel good. Aside the fact that American ideals a re hinged on diversity and refugee heaven, the banned countries never had any terrorist attack on the US. But those that did like Saudi Arabia were conspicuously left out from the ban. So no way a sane judge would approve this based on the flimsy excuse of curbing terrorism. |
paschu:lol! Do us all a favor then, go kill yourself! |
As usual Islam is the target. If the man where from Kano or Sokoto am sure even the Emir and Sultan would have been roped. How can you get a balanced story from only one side? And she voluntarily went to him from Enugu to Kwara. At worst this may be a case of a broken home or love affair gone bad. But what would they do if they don't amplify the so called Islamization propaganda at the slightest opportunity. I honestly wish that social media bill would be passed so that peddlers of misinformation would face consequences. |
BlackSeptember:Lol keep telling yourself that to make yourself happy. Do you know that American, UK, Canada and many western countries allow hijab on their police uniforms? |
thesicilian:Exactly why try to ban something a significant population consider their part of religion? In a country where even the judges are made up of Muslims? |
This anti-Hijab insult is getting outta hand. Is it because the Muslim community in Nigeria kept quite that they even keep appealing the ruling? This isn't supposed to even be debated in a country like Nigeria with a Muslim population of at least 50%. |
Lol funny but true. However I'd hope we unite to make best outta bad situation. North, South, East and West alike. |
delishpot:I googled the whole story, the attack took place 24th June 2014. Anyway the main narrative today is that herdsmen attacks are rampant and more daring simply because PMB is the president. But to honest we know that is very wrong and we can never solve this problem by trying to blackmail the president based on his ethnicity. Again there are are many arrests of the herdsmen and arraignment but the biased audience and media chose what to believe. If fulani herdsmen carry put an attack and they are arrested and paraded, the main comments you hear is that PMB will get them released. That's an insult to the security agents even though I believe they should do more, but they are trying. |
delishpot:I apologize for concluding the OP was lying, but this isn't is because most of these attacks are made up, exaggerated or mis-reported. And the best way to tell one is from the loopholes in the narrative. A clear one is the claim that they never had any issues with the so called attackers. That been said this attack happened since early 2014 that's about three years, so definitely no one should abortion blame on PMB. All the same the security agents should the right thing and arrest any criminal giving bad name to the Fulani. |
OK the attack actually happened but there must be a cause. |
This is persecution and Islamization. We will not take this! Where is FFK to write another epistle. |
Na only mere commissioner. This is a misleading headline. Guardian can do better than this. of the three lawyers they interviewed only one insinuated what the headline says, the other two disagreed. Yet they decide to use his single opinion as the headline. |
Well the main reason why you never hear of pre-Islamic Hausaland is mainly due to lack any extraordinary practice in that time. Practice like killing of twins or human sacrifice I mean. It was a simple pagan land with the people practicing African religion with their simple rituals like "Wasan Dodo" (Masquarade) "Chamfi" (Superstitions) and animal sacrifice. Though some deities are specific to a particular place like the Tsumburbura as mentioned by friendchoice, the traditional practices are generally the same. For example in 2003 Jigawa state government banned Masquarade celebrations which take place every harvest season, because it traced back to when those Masquarades where considered deities and worshiped. Sule Lamido later lifted the ban in 2007. Interestingly there are remote villages up till this day that retain those pagan practices, and are not Muslims neither do they bear Muslim names. They are Maguzawa, significant amount of Warjawa and so on. The detail of those practices can be found in The Kano Chronicles. What pagan9ja was writing especially the Bori isn't actually a form of religion, but a sport or a practice. Up till this day there are Muslims who practice Bori. I know this because my home town is the home of Dan Kawu Mai Garaya. Whenever he plays the Bori people will gather where each of them would be possessed by their preferred spirit like those pagan9ja mentioned. So you see its not that there wasn't traditional religion before Islam, it's just it's now part of Hausaland's very distant history. Unlike Christianity that was brought few centuries ago, Islam has been in Hausaland in a large extent for more than a millenia. |
This is a very good idea, and an avenue to make money. Am sure many of them will be ready to pay small amount for the test. |
The fight against corruption isn't an easy task. I weak when I saw the kind of crowd thronged to welcome Ibori. But what do you expect when a certain people people have taken it upon themselves to defend anybody accused of corruption? The utter shamelessness is very shameful and demoralizes the fight. It's like Nigerians are supporting and cheering the opponents in a football March, how do you think the super eagles would feel? |
Guy above me, we all know PDP was the enabling party as regards to BH. at least Gen Azazi confirmed that. |
We all know schools are more important than mosques, or to put it more accurately the primary function of a Mosque should serve as a school then a worship site. Through out the history of early Mosques serve as Madrassa because you have to learn how to even worship first before you can worship. Also you can pray basically outside, but learning becomes tedious under such conditions. Enough said, am with the Mai Martaba on this. |
Way to go EFCC! Keep giving them corrupt people nightmares. Left for the special advocates of corruption to come and depend the so called lawyer. |
It depends on who'd be the other alternative. If he/she seem more credible I'd vote for them. For now PMB seems to be the best. |
This is ridiculous! When do herdsmen have the time to go and sew police uniform before they attack. These are simply armed robbers whom can be of any ethnic origin or even combination. |
How can people even imagine a Saraki being a VP to Osinbajo? Have you all forgotten the insult how he called him a mere commissioner? Mind you it's him that would have the exclusive right to nominate his VP like Jonathan did. Anyway everything is God's will if Osinbajo is destined to be president there's nothing anybody can do. |
I thought they said it wasn't about PMB directly. Final Ipods have taken over.
Well I wish them safe protest, and remember NPF have no rubber bullets! |
Finally he's no longer a mere commissioner.
On a more serious note, get well soon Mr. President. |
In as much as I support every tribe and region to produce the president at one time or the other for the sake of equity and justice, but the former Governor really made some valid points. |
I always wonder where southerners get that obnoxious idea that northerners are scared of a break up. Break up yes! But only on our terms. |
