Family / Re: My Friend Consistently Beats Up Her Mum! by Ebonyj(f): 3:08pm On Apr 22, 2008
There is more to this than meets the eye. I feel sorry for this your friend. Even sorrier (pardon my English) for the mother, we can't really judge her because we donjt know what her mum did when she was younger, could it be that a curse has been placed on either the mother or daughter. Back in Naija, I remember a woman who used to get beaten up by her children(all female), I think they all went for deliverance and found that it was a generational curse. \It might be the same case with this your friend, you better tell her and her mum to go for deliverance at their place of worship.

Homebase, If you really believe in God, then ask him and have faith that you have received it, and you definitely will receive it. You do not have to lie about your age or anything else.

Rockchic, the guy is telling you the truth, he is still young and I like the fact that he has been honest with you. The best thing for you to do now is to find someone who is willing and able to settle down with you sooner . Even if you do decide to wait what makes you think the guy will end up marrying you?

Travel / Re: 136 Nigerians Kicked Off British Airways Flight! by Ebonyj(f): 4:19pm On Apr 14, 2008
Sorry I just posted this same topic before seeing this, Below is my view on the matter
Personally I know no action will be taking regarding this matter , it is very upsetting to see that we as a community don't stand up for each other. If the Nigerian Ambassador to the UK was to do his job, he would demand an apology and compensation from BAA and the BA and he would also ensure that all flights to/fro Nigeria was stopped until an action is taken. If this had happened to any other community or nationality an action would have been taken. This is because they all have representatives. The Asians have their rep, some of the other black communites too have their rep but there is no one standing up for the Nigerians in the UK. This is because of our selfish interest and also due to the fact that we don't trust or respect each others tribe/beliefs.

This is a really sad and disturbing true-life story but not sure if we as a people group take eachother serious enough to take this kind of affirmative action. Think about it though, this could be you if you dare change your mind on 'chicken or beef',

Please read on!!!
A British Airways captain ordered 136 passengers off his plane in chaotic scenes after they all started complaining to cabin crew.
As the flight waited to take off at Heathrow the row was sparked by the restraint of a man being forcibly deported.
Many were distressed by his pitiful cries of 'I go die' and one passenger, Ayodeji Omotade, 39, spoke up on his behalf.
The deportee was taken off the Lagosbound jet by immigration staff and police.

But five officers returned and arrested Mr Omotade. This outraged the other 135 passengers in the economy class section and they complained to cabin crew.
Amid riotous scenes in the aisles, 20 police officers boarded to calm everything down.
Then the BA pilot took the extraordinary decision to boot off everyone who had witnessed the arrest of Mr Omotade, an IT consultant from Chatham , Kent .
The captain took the view they were all guilty of disturbing the flight, although no more passengers were arrested.
After the economy class section was virtually cleared, the deportee, aged about 30, was brought back on and the flight left.
The passengers were booked on to later flights but Mr Omotade was told by BA staff he was banned by the airline for life.
English-born Mr Omotade, married with a daughter aged four, was handcuffed and kept in police custody for eight hours after his arrest. He has not been charged and is seeking an apology from BA.
He was travelling from Heathrow's Terminal 4 to Lagos for his brother's marriage and had in his luggage the groom's wedding ring, shirt and suit. He missed the ceremony.
He told the Mirror: 'There were agonising noises from an individual being restrained. It went on for 20 minutes.
'I pleaded with the officers and my exact words were, 'Please don't kill him.'
'I was not swearing or threatening. BA staff said the officers were doing their jobs and nothing was going to happen. When he was removed we thought it was the end of the matter.
'But police officers came back and I was handcuffed and dragged off the plane.'
He claims his luggage has been lost and £1,600 cash he had for relatives has been taken and not returned.
Scotland Yard confirmed: 'A man was arrested for affray and causing a disturbance and was bailed.'
Ba said: 'Police were called to the BA75 service to Lagos on March 27 after a large number of passengers became disruptive.
Many were removed.
'We take any threats against our crew or passengers very seriously and this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated.'

Family / Re: Are You The First Born In Your Family? by Ebonyj(f): 1:34pm On Nov 21, 2007
I am the 1st of 5 children and I must say being the first child is not easy o.

Too much is ecxpected of you and you are not allowed room for mistakes
You are much more mature than your peers (which sometimes is a benefit btu not always, sometimes you may be seen as been boring).

Then again you get to make the decision for the whole family and you get evverybody's respect.
Been first has got its ups and downs, I am grateful to be the first child.
Computers / Re: Is It Okay To Read Your Wife's E-Mails? by Ebonyj(f): 2:07pm On Nov 09, 2007
Not really  I don't think she is up to anything. Most people just like to have a bit of privacy. Although personally , I do read my husbands emails  not because I don't trust him , he is always very busy and would ask me to please check his email, so I have just gotten into the habit of checking it to see if he has any important mails. He knows the passwosword to mine as well, but I don't think he checks it.

Please don't loose your trust in your wife, if you are still bothered about it then talk(seriously) to her.

Hi dear,

I think you should introduce your son to his father and then let the child decide if he wants to build a relationship with his dad or not.

Romance / Re: Would You Marry Your Age Mate? by Ebonyj(f): 12:51pm On Oct 26, 2007
It depends on how mature the person is. Some people are quite mature for their age while some are just totally childish. My parents are exactly the same age, although my mum looks and acts a lot younger though.

And by the way my other half is 3 years older but a lot more mature.

Mrpataki, I don't appreciate being called a liar because I am not. Besides I don't NO IT ALL. I only say what I know to be a fact.

Apologies as per the first part if I did not read it properly.

Anyways as per the universities , I am speaking from past experience , when I got to this country I had not been here for 3 years before applying to get into Uni, I had friends who were already in UNi at the time and they showed me ways of getting through , which I did and yes I finished my degree by folowing this process and I can boldly tell you that there are four people in my family(cousins) who have done the same and who have finished uni succesfully without any palava.
As I said before if you want hints and the name of the schools email me.
I cannot afford to post it on here now , you never know who is reading.

As per the appeals taking 2-3 years if you think I am lying , I will call my friends up and give you their appeal numbe maybe you know of people working in the home office who can help to quicken the process I am telling you what I know , you are chatting ####***. Don't make me angry o.

Why am I even explainign myself to you? Hisssssssssss, I am sure there is someone out there who believes me. Besides I don't lie. (Just white lies that I tell to my boss e.g trains delayed, baby minder not coming) smiley
