Christianity EtcRe: Pastor And Pastor Mrs Billboard All Over. by Egbagirl(f): 2:48pm On Sep 15, 2011
POTUT:
I have pondered this too. Everywhere a new branch/outlet opens up, a billboard/signpost/advert board springs up with nothing else but the image of the man who founded the church.

On the other hand, it is improper to cook up an image of Christ on big bill boards because nobody actually knows for sure what he looked like, and we are warned not to be idolaters. Using the latest means of advert available, shouldn't we rather consider using catchy/legible/succint biblical verses on these billboards, instead of consciously/unconsciously building a loyalty cult around individuals. When these individuals eventually pass on, what will be the next image on those billboards?
very much agree with this post. Id rather see them spread the word through actual words than put up pictures. its really sickening.

RomanceRe: Ladies Can U Marry A Well-educated Man Without A Good Job? by Egbagirl(f): 1:23pm On Sep 12, 2011
Yes I can. Marriage is not about money. Although it is a very important factor, it is not the MOST important. Money doesnt buy happiness. Id rather have someone with whom I can have intellectual discussions, mess around, have fun n build my community than have a rich fool as a husband. 'sides, if he's well-educated (i mean a good all round education) then he is prolly on his way to making money.

Nobody mentioned the name of the tribe associated with this fetish activities, we just said,"a particular tribe" and kept mute for intellectual reasoning. But, for the fear of people bearing and nursing that tribe in mind, they just rushed to mention the name of another tribe to divert the attention. I'm just amused, cos name or no name, we all know the fetish tribe, that's why it's prevalent in all their activities including movies.
pls educate us and tell us which tribe. kmt! which nigeria movies are you talking about? yoruba ones or nollywood? because as far as I know, nollywood movies too get fetish things w the crazy scary noises n so do yoruba ones! So I don't know what you are getting at. As far as I know, its prevalent in the yourba and igbo cultures.

But for real, we need a revolution. How? Thats the difficult question. These days, its every man for himself. We need to unite first. If the youth can look past their differences and come together, focus on their similarities and even possibly use their differences as a strength, that would be a start. There is strength in numbers. Right now, there are very few people that are willing to create change. After all, no be beans now and who wan die?? Na so so complain we dey complain. Na so so mouth we dey make.

We need some kind of awakening (electric shock) to jolt our brains. They've been dead too long. We need UNITY. em talk say, United we stand, Divided we fall. If we are really serious about it, then we will wake up and do something. But for now, e never pain us reach so lets continue to fold our arms and watch as our lives are being destroyed.

Once again, there is strength in numbers. (UNITY)

Every day my prayer is that the oil and gas well should dry up so we can really develop with our handwork and not with rent collection from oil proceeds. I was in Erin Ijesha Waterfalls in Osun State one time, come and see the wasted opportunities begging for attention, many countries with waterfalls develop the site eg. Niagara falls in US, Yosemite fall-US, Victoria falls In Kenya, Angels falls in Venezuela etc.
Hmmmm dont know if you talking about some other Niagara falls which I think possibly exists but when you group it with Vic Fall etc, then Im sure you are referring to the popular one in Ontario, CANADA. and Vic Fall is not in Kenya. It's in Zimbabwe (well it kinda lies between Zim and Zambia (Zambesi River) but most people usually talk about Zim when they refer to the Victoria Falls.

Sista again I said I'm not talking about having no FEELINGS for the person but to have a good marriage you could not loving him as hell, but suceed your marriage with someone who make you feel a real woman/ man. Klear as you said, you "expect",
Ok I'm not sure I understand this.
RomanceRe: "get Married To Someone Who Loves You And Not The One You Love" by Egbagirl(f): 5:35pm On Jun 17, 2011
oh btw, @topic: hmmm This is a tricky one. I feel like there should be love from both parties. I would def marry someone who truly loves and cares about me etc but at the same time, it is only normal for that to be reciprocated. How can someone love me so much and I wont love the person back? Impossible. It is out of love that we love, respect, care etc. If you cant stand the person and all that then there is no point marrying them even if they love you with all the love in the world. It has to be reciprocal unless you are trying to be unhappy for the rest of ur life.

Christianity EtcRe: Richest Pastors In Nigeria: Prophet T.b. Joshua And The Scoan Hit Back by Egbagirl(f): 4:52pm On Jun 17, 2011
Delafruita, what exactly is the good news we are supposed to spread? I'm sure you know its not about the miracles and healiings n all that? Its not also helping the poor cause anyone can do good deeds. Good deeds don't malke a good Christian. The good news is the gospel which is Salvation - The birth, death and resurrection of Christ and the significance of these.

When we do good deeds, or help the poor etc, we do them out of love. We do them as an act of worship. I don't think the apostles went about talking about the mircales they performed. They went about preaching Christ. Asking pple to repent. It is your salvation that takes u to heaven. And no, I'm not against helping people and healing the sick. We shouldn't be running to Jesus cause he can solve our problems. That's what a lot of us do today. hristianity is not for show but a lot of us hve forgotten our first love - God.

I have a question. Why do they have to advertise their good deeds on tv? Doesn't the Bible say something about not letting your right hand know what ur left hand is doing? Or something like that. I mean there is no need to publicize what u do. People will talk about them n pple will know.

FamilyRe: My Spouse Came To Embarrass Me At My Working Place by Egbagirl(f): 6:28pm On Jun 15, 2011
Na wa o!!!! I guess I am no longer surprised at the type of marriages we have today and the rate at which they are failing judging from the comments so far (most of them anyway).

I don't see any reason for these "send her packing", "sleep w her close friend to teach her a lesson", use the opportunity to actually cheat on her" etc. type of advice. Jus cause someone does something wrong in a marriage does not mean the next thing to do is get a divorce. Ha ba!

Its not a case of infedilty although its about respect which is a BIG DEAL for men BUT that doesn not warrant a divorce at all. Let her know the gravity of her mistake. Correct her in LOVE. Let her understand the value of respect. Remember, two wrongs don't make a right and it doesn't pay to repay evil w evil. There is no need for divorce in this case. It might take some time to heal but it will happen. Unless u don't really care about ur marriage.

Sides, if she really doesn learn from this, she will prolly come apoloogize to your colleagues.
