Please be a little objective in the least. It is the tradition of the EFCC of late to give press conferences stating the looted amount, where it was found, when it was found and who owns or is linked to the cash.

No official press statement of the EFCC has been released on the actual owner till date. Only speculatory statements from anonymous sources backed up with picture. Oke could have been suspended for any and many reason.

Let EFCC at least maintain their transparency by stating it was Oke who hid the cash on the orders of Jonathan; them no gree. The have left that Job for people like you who will eagerly accept anything social media throws at them.

Come to think of it, speculatory reports in blogosphere are claiming Jonathan approved the release and diversion of such funds officially. Considering how much EFCC has worked so hard to implicate Jonathan, one would have thought they would have happily dished out a press conference to implicate the more, instead of secretly misleading Nigerians via social media.

When the loot was first discovered, EFCC handle claimed the money belonged to an unnamed Abuja politician, what happened to that story and why did they refuse ti name the politician to date?

Also the fiñdings of the Commission of inquiry doesnt constitute evidence against Amaechi in a court room, especially one that Amaechi didnt attend. Like I said earlier on, it was undertaken in the absence of handover notes with the aim of reviewing certain issues relating to the finances of Rivers state. Whatever irregularities seen would have easily been cleared if Amaechi even sent documents or a petition or a write-up clearing the air on issues raised at the panel, he didnt do this.

If Amaechi had approached the panel with his side of the story, it would have provided the perfect foundation upon which Wike could have based an investigation with support from security operatives - which I must remind you are owned by the Federal government.

In the absence of Amaechi's input and Zero support from Security personnel, what informs taking Amaechi to court? In court, the burden of proof rests with the accuser, if wike must go to court, then the police and EFCC and ICPC must be willing to cooperate in terms of providing the framework to investigate whatever discrepancies uncovered by Rivers state.

Rivers state government cannot investigate outside it sphere of influence which is limited to Rivers state properties but the EFCC/ICPC/Police can cull up information from any quarter in Nigeria.

So please be informed, the commission is not the police, it is the police/security operatives that have the right to investigate and prosecute people for criminal offences, so Wike going to court to prosecute Amaechi based on a white paper is senseless and to suggest it shows lack of understanding of some basic legal concepts. It could assist but it cannot do it alone and a white paper finding isnt enough.

Also, the findings of the commission of inquiry show both abuse of powers as well as financial impropriety and a petition was raised by the AG and sent to the Police/EFCC/ICPC and I make bold to say that contrary to what you will have people believe, the EFCC hasnt conducted any investigative effort against Amaechi. Neither has the police nor the ICPC.


If they had, then the $757million he transferred to an account in Bancorp in the USA should have been the talk and toast of the Anti-Corruption war but sadly that news has died down and is nowhere to be found.

In any case, EFCC would have stated that it had done so and found Amaechi innocent.

So please give you line of argument/debate rest.......

For them to create a document and still present it to be proven to be true or false represents humility and the highest level of fairness.

Its like saying, this is what we believe took place but we stand to be corrected and every day EFCC refuses to investigate, it proves that Amaechi is untouchable even if he commits a financial crime.

Since Amaechi refuse to appear to state his side of the story, it could be argued in court that the findings of the court are largely speculatory and such it wont survive a court room trial.

Let EFCC investigate and prove the findings to be false, then we will know that wike is a fool, until then I am willing to believe/assume that you guys are assumptionists, nothing but an extension of BMC support staff, unleashed on Nairaland just to make Amaechk look good no matter how poorly he performs.......

Who set up the commission of enquiry? Wike the political enemy of Amaechi that can manipulate the outcome in his favour. Nothing has been done till today, let EFCC be allowed to investigate him, then the truth will be manifest....

I know you are a Strong fan of Amaechi, but you unwittingly disregards the facts because they are not manifest before all here.

Wike is a lawyer and is not a fool. He is intelligent enough to know when and why and how to act. He knows he may not be able to make a case in court because Amaechi was careful to pre-empt Wike first.

When this panel was raised, Amaechi went to court to ask that the panel be disbanded and stopped, why? His argument in court through his counsel, was that it was created to witch hunt him and wont guarantee fair hearing. The court declined his request and made it clear that the activities of Rivers state government was under inquiry and not Amaechi. In any case, the judge stated that Amaechi should have sought fairing hearing and be denied it before approaching his court.

Amaechi, who as a former law maker has basic understanding of the letters didnt appear and the reason was simple, if he appeared before the commission of inquiry, it would be assumed that he made an input to the findings arrived at in the course of inquiry.

If he didnt appear, then he can argue a case of lack of fair hearing - since his own side of the story wasnt used in arriving at the conclusion - and have it thrown out of court. Wike knows this and that is why he petitioned the EFCC - through the Attorney General of Rivers state - with the recommendations of the panel.

If the EFCC investigated and was able to establish evidence that validated the findings, then wike could proceed to trial and be sure of obtaining a conviction. Since Buhari wont let Amaechi be investigated, theres no point going after Him.

If Buhari will allow EFCC go after Amaechi, he will definitely drink liquid beans in Ikoyi prison, I guarantee it.......

Bros Its is very true, my neighbour who is from enugu, lost someone, some years ago in his community to Ngwa people. The igwe of his village made them contribute #1,000 for the men and #500 for the women in their community and handed it over to delegation who went to State CID in Abia state.

They helped them confirm their worst fears, that the man they were looking for was probably used to perform the burial he attended. Typically its a job that the youths of the community perform secretly with guidance by the elders. They roast and share privily.
