You cannot expect a man to understand something if his livelihood depends on NOT UNDERSTANDING it. Legalization of drugs will mean no need for Marwa so what do you expect him to say?

NDLEA are one of the biggest beneficiaries of the prohibition of drugs. Many of them should by rights be jobless if the government was sensible and stopped wasting funds fighting an illogical and unwinnable fight.

Where have you seen it in the post that it's muslims Responsible for that?? Did the government of Uganda mention that?? So any bomb attack is now islam right ??
Read the post. Islamic State claimed responsibility for The most recent explosion in Uganda. And there's no use being politically correct: a large proportion of the terrorist incidents worldwide can be linked to Islamists

Those guys are the one capable of doing such in Ugandan. They do work hand in hand with Al- Shabab of Somalia.
Their present base is in DR Congo forest.

Rwanda should stay awake because those guys are not smiling.

RIP to the dead ones.
Those guys don't do suicide bombing. This is likely Islamic State

Why did you apply in the first place if you know it would be a tough decision? I really don't get what the issue is. If you applied, it is probably because the remote jobs were not enough for you.

The caveat in that article was for a reason. They can be sued without it anyway
Suing them is an exercise in frivolity. They also said applicants must be less than 28 years old. Why not sue them for that too?

This doesn't sound right and ought to be challenged. I will sue their arse if denied invitation on the grounds of non-vaccination. They only need to put that in writing to be nailed. Nonsense.
They said applicants must be under 28 years old, can you sue them for that? Any suit against employer screening criteria would likely fail in the courts except if the screening criteria is discriminatory on grounds of sex or ethnicity.
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: BEDC Graduate Trainee Programme Requires Covid-19 Vaccination As A Pre-condition by einsteine(m): 1:57pm On Nov 12, 2021
An employer can decide the sort of employees it wants. If the employer insists that all applicants must have tribal marks, that's their own choice and it is also the choice of the applicant to either get tribal marks or go for other opportunities that do not require such eccentric qualifications.

They don't get paid salary.

After training is when you will be told to wait for federal government approval
Crime › Re: Police Arrest 108 Naval Impersonators In Lagos by einsteine(m): 10:12am On Nov 11, 2021
Yampotatocarrot:
Now, this makes more sense. Probably a power tussle between them and the other navy group.

I wonder how they were being paid all these while
It's not a power tussle.

Nigeria does not have a merchant navy organisation
These ones took it upon themselves to create one in the hope that government would later legalize it like what happened with NSCDC (which was not originally approved by government). The organizers should be dealt with so that others don't get the idea of creating phantom forces which they then blackmail government into approving and then run as their personal fiefdoms after approval

Something is fishy about this , How come they've been operating since 2005 and we all just get to know now that is illegal. I think return is not being flowing as before .
It has always been illegal. In 2013, my uncle paid for one of my cousins only for them to find out the organisation is not approved by the federal government. They did their training then in Ogun state.
Business › Re: Kuda Bank Called EFCC On My Friend Over N800k - Bryson Adah Cole by einsteine(m): 12:07am On Nov 11, 2021
abbey621:
Try and read the post again, a young man who makes money by designing, this is more likely a freelancer. On Fiverr and Upwork, it is not farfetched to be able to make 500k or more every month or two.
No bank will call efcc if it's just a matter of asking you to explain your inflow. You are the one taking everything the OP said at face value. A designer would simply send screenshots of transactions on the freelancing site to the bank. That's what I did back then when odesk was still active in order to receive inflow to a domiciliary account.

In this case, it is most likely that a specific inflow was linked to an account that has been involved in a petition. As is usual, the OP would not give any details as the goal of the post is to get us to condemn the bank.

Someone I know got nicked by efcc because he sold crypto to someone and the person had sent him money directly from an account he had hacked (through a sim swap). Unless the OP provides clear information, we can't be sure what exactly happened.

I've noticed a pattern in this country, whether it is rape, police shooting or kidnapping, we almost always blame the victim. Something must have caused it, it can't just be a business misbehaving or a power move against the helpless.....SOMETHING THE VICTIM DID MUST HAVE CUASED IT.....SMH!
This is not a case of victim blaming so don't get yourself worked up. It is highly unusual for someone to be arrested over a paltry sum of 800k unless something criminal is involved. In this case, the OP did not state what sort of transaction was involved or indeed give any details other than saying his friend was invited and handed over to the efcc.

Back in the pre-bvn days, we used to flag accounts with "Arrest on sight" and if such account holders get to the branch, they would be kept in discussion until law enforcement comes and this only happened in the case of fraud.

So until the OP states the kind of transaction it was, I would suggest you hold off judgement.

abbey621:
Imagine if your bank called EFCC every time you make or cash out a large sum......Explaining is not the problem, the problem is the EFCC involvement over a measly sum like 800k.
What's the full story?

Do you know if the 800k was paid out of a compromised account? The OP has not provided the full story. Freezes are common, reporting to the efcc is highly unusual and something must have warranted it.

Though I may not have the full gist but I would not doubt the story. I transferred 100k at once to some someone using the bank and they reversed it. The person later sent me the message Kuda sent saying that they rejected the money coming into his account. That the sender should send the money in bits. Imagine a bank rejecting inflow and asking to receive the money in bits. I ended up transferring the money in 2 tranche of 50k.
So imagine I was now sending 500k in tranches, that is enough to flag the account as suspicious even though it is Kuda's fault. Kuda should get their acts together unless they will bite the dust. I kuku don cancel the bank.
In your case, the person that you are sending money to does not have an ID card attached to his account. He opened the account with just BVN so he can only receive 50k at a time. It's the same with all bank. It's called a tier 1 account.

Which Kain tax relief?

These loan apps are fly by the night companies owned by Chinese immigrants, some of whom are even laundering criminal inflows from China. They don't pay tax because they are EVADING tax. Nobody gave them any tax reliefs.

If the bet9ja owner you’re covering up do his part to better the life of those he’s representing, do you think anyone from his contact will borrow??
Instead of you to caution him, you’re encouraging defaulters, just pray you don’t own such company one day so u don’t see what these loan companies are passing through.
The Loan app companies are VERY VERY profitable. They are not passing through anything. They don't pay taxes, they are not registered with any regulatory authority, their staff work from home or nondescript addresses and they can make good profit even with a 40% default rate because they are charging as high as 60% weekly.

Any day I receive any message from any loan company saying someone I know defaulted on his/her loan, I personally will forward the person's house address and every other necessary information to help track him/her. Because i don't understand why someone will take a loan and not repay it. It's understandable if you were unable to meet up with the time frame given, but there are some people that have no plans of repaying at all. To them it's free money, someone's business oh sad
Lol.

Who told you the loan company needs their address? They want you to put pressure on the borrower. By the way, there's no guarantee that you will even know the person who borrowed.

Never seen anyone as high as 30%. But if you as an individual can't pay the high interest why still go on to borrow? They aren't forcing you to borrow.
They charge as much as 50% for a 6 day loan. In order to avoid Google or Apple removing them from the playstore/app store, they lie on the app page that the interest rate is 5-10% per year.

All these people talking about people not paying their loan should realize that these loan apps are ILLEGAL in the first place.

You call Soko Loan SME?

They should close up.

The business is not doing bad because everywhere you go is one new loan company or app or the other so that excuse that Nigerians don't pay loans is not tenable.

You are been sarcastic, right?
Nope, dead serious.

Nigerian doctors in training pay a pittance compared to their lifetime earnings. How many of them (especially the ones running abroad ) have ever donated anything to their Alma matter? They get extremely subsidized education and go abroad to enjoy the benefits (thanks to wasteful governments who don't reason correctly). Their colleagues from foreign universities pay through the nose for medical education.
