Politics › Re: Between A Muslim-Muslim Ticket and A Return Of Presidency to North by ejimatic: 10:23am On Jun 10, 2022
PassingShot:
I have read a lot of people saying "no to Muslim-Muslim ticket" even before Asiwaju emerged. Now that he has emerged as the standard bearer of APC with Atiku as the major challenge to him, I wonder why a Muslim-Muslim ticket of Tinubu presidency is not better than a return of the presidency to north possibly for another eight years after 8 years of PMB.

Like or loathe APC, it has demonstrated being a truly progressive party by standing with a return of the presidency to the South even after Atiku had emerged as PDP's candidate. PDP damned everything common sense by making Atiku emerge with possibility of keeping the presidency in the north and a lot of people seem not to care because PDP is doing what they need to do to win the election without considering fairness and equity.

I am strongly convinced that when the time comes, majority of voters will side with an APC' Muslim-Muslim ticket which returns presidency to the south and reject a Muslim-Christian ticket which keeps the presidency to the north for another eight years to make it 16 straight years of Northern dominance.
. Retun of democracy to the South is what we need now and NO to Muslim -Muskim ticket. It a Muslim Chritian ticket we we want.

What if Proffesor Yemi Osinbajo comes out as independent candidate?

History has shown that indirect primaries in Nigeria have never produced candidates who truly have the interest of Nigerians at heart and we can no longer put the future of our children in the hands of these old inept recycled politicians.

I still believe in Proffesor Osinbajo and there is a provision for independent candidacy in our constitution.

I am convinced that this will be a viable path at this juncture, an option worth exploring.
Independent candidacy is a mirage in Nigerian politics and can never produce any president in the country

. Osibanjo even lost election in his Lagos poling unit. That made Asiwaju advise that he should transfer his polling unit to Ogun State. Osinbajo is a midget in front of Tinubu a politician giant.Buhari led CPC while Tinubu led ACN. Where was Osibanjo when they formed APC? Tinubu has a long time friendship with many governors.who only respect Osibanjo as the VP not a political guru.I know that Osinbajo would lose the election. If they conduct the election again he would lose to Asiwaju...

Aidejay:
I saw this comment on the thread announcing results and it truly represented what I was thinking.

How Did Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi Get More delegate Votes Than Prof Yemi Osinbajo?

1. Bola Ahmed Tinubu Scored 1271 Votes
2. Rotimi Amaechi. Scored 316 Votes
3. Yemi Osinbajo. Scored 235 Votes

E shock me die...

I think we've been led to overestimate the true reach and impact of Osinbajo. No wonder prior to the convention there was this clamour for Buhari to endorse a candidate to fly the APC flag, and Osinbajo was loudly touted to be the president's favourite.

Like many I was led to believe Osinbajo might walk away as APC's candidate I already wrote off any possibility of Amaechi clinching the ticket.

But you can imagine my shock when I saw Tinubu ahed with over 400 votes and guess who came in second, not Yemi or Lawan

AMAECHI!

we have underestimated this man until now.

I want to see a Tinubu/Amaechi combo in 2023.

So for those whose preference was Osinbajo how does it feel knowing he isn't even the 'SECOND CHOICE'.
. It beats my imagination too However it supports my conclusion that Osinbajo has no structure and political base unlike Tinubu

Let me just react to the poll.

I think pyo hasa better chance of winning both primary and general.

The truth is, without Buhari's support as it is, Tinubu can never see draw against Atiku, sad tho, the power will go to the north gain.

But if Buhari should willingly and genuinely support osinbajo against any opponent in the general election (the support he is not likely to give to Tinubu by all indications), osinbajo will triumph over Atiku or any other candidate.
You can't convince me with anything, pyo is the preferred candidate of Buhari in this primary
. I wish the winner good luck ! Thank you greatly for your lovely opinion

So u prefer Tinubu because hes a grass root POLITICIAN? With national coverage and supporters. What does he have to offer NIGERIANS? Pls convince me to vote for him. Thanks.
. As I said earlier only a Technocrat can fix Nigeraian not a politician. A technocrat from a neutral party. This sadly will not take place in Nigeria. As for all the aspirants in APC they are the same with our money in their pockets. Osibanjo is a VP now! What has he done for Nigerians? Tinubu will not do anything for Nigerians too.Same applies to Amechi and all other candidates. They are all after their interests. Out of all the devils I still prefer Tinubu Bola. Osibanjo is for continuation of PMB untold hardship on Nigerians masses

sir I made that clarification to show that even Yoruba Christians know Tinubu has the strongest base among the aspirants.

Are setting up this poll based on party affiliation, regional sentiments or national interest?

Because, you already nullify your neutrality by bringing in Tinubu's chance of winning Atiku....
What is the need for that?
. I am still neutral but my prediction of APC aspirants favours TINUBU My reference to Atiku is informed by the need to have a tight presidential election not just a walk over. I believe Nigerians can decide who they want between Tinubu and Atiku if Tinubu wins today according to my prediction Additionally. as to the interest of NIGERIA as I have been saying it only a Technocrat can do it. We can have a Technocrat if we don't practice party politics. Is that possible in Nigeria? This is the reason we are still having a recycle of old cagoes as our leaders to the detriment of the masses.

You simply predicted as a Yoruba Muslim.

This is my prediction as a realist; if the primary is conducted free and fair without imposition/consensus candidate, Tinubu will win. If buhari is left to pick and impose his preferred candidate, Osibanjo wins, but if the cabals succeeds in manipulating buhari, then, Lawan wins. In conclusion; 1. Lawan, 2. Tinubu, 3. Osibanjo, 4. Amaechi.
. I am a Yoruba christian . Your prediction is respected

1 Tinubu
2 Osinbajo
3 Amaechi

None of the three has nothing for us in Nigeria. They are all rich already! However out of them I go for BOLA TINUBU. He is a grass root politician with national coverage and supporters. He alone can battle Atiku.
