Senator Dino Melaye who participated in Kogi West Senatorial election on Saturday November 16, has demanded its cancellation after he stormed the national headquarter of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja with 21 video clips.

The Kogi Senator who was sacked by the Court of Appeal said the 21 video clips he presented to INEC secretary, Rose Orianran-Anthony and the national commissioner Festus Okoye documented electoral malpractices witnessed during the election.

“National commissioner of INEC Festus Okoye and Secretary of INEC receiving my petition today with 21 video CD’s documentary evidence,” Dino Melaye tweeted.

. The handwriting is on the wall that Dino will be on Abuja street reading newspapers while other senators will be making Millon's in the house. All the video clips hold no probative value at the tribunal. If there is a violence at the polling booth the results will be cancelled. It it happens outside the polling booth it is a civil matter not an electoral matter. The INEC will just acknowledge his petition and declare the election free and fair.If Dino is dissatisfied he should go to the tribunal.

I don't know why i'm laughing while reading your post.English language just like any other language is liable to evolution.Nobody is a monopoly of English language not even the queen....Everyday many new words are added in the English language so it's not possible for one to be perfect in the language.

Nigerians don't even speak anything close to the so-called "queens English" you said we adopted. What we are speaking i wouldn't say it's not correct, however, that's what i termed"Nigerian English language".

It's not only us that adopted English language as their lingua franca...
Countries like Egypt,India,Hong kong,Canada,Etc uses English language as their official language but they can't communicate fluently and effectively with it even their elites and educated folks still stutter when making a public speech.Does that mean they ain't intelligent?

Can you write, speak and read your local dialect perfectly well?if not, trust me you ain't smart according to you because that's the language you were brought up with
. I don't even know how to respond to your last comment. It seems we are just moving around the same thing. Let me however add by saying that all our Nigerian indigenous languages are our first languages or mother tongue or L1 while English French Italian etc are 2nd languages or foreign languages or L2 All nations have this classification too.No language is better than the other. However we have diaglossic condition in Nigeria. There is diaglossia when languages are given different roles and functions .Nigeria has given more prominence to English than other languages ..That is why our mother tongue is being deemphasized .The language provisions in the constitution and National Policy on Education hold no water too.
.We need to revamp our mother toque and change our attitude to it.In the mean time English stays as our language of communication for official purposes in Nigeria.

How many white countries speak English language in the world? Do you know that Britain's English language is different from Australias,USA,Canada,New Zealand etc?

So which one is the correct English language?Do you know that this thing you wrote,an average British won't understand it because it's quite different from their own English language?it sounds funny but it's true.

We should also communicate with language we are comfortable with. Most of all these things we are speaking are jagons.

Nigerians always want to be more catholic than the pope grin
. There are varieties of English language all over the world. The Book the World Englishes explains that many varieties of English will come up as the speech communities expand all over the world.Nigerian English is one of the hundreds of English dialects we have in the world. However there is Queen English, Standard English or BBC English. This is what we call British Educated Educated English. Nigeria accepts this as our standard English for official purposes.. Thus your lngustic and sociolinguistic environment will determine the variety you have to use at a time. When you are with your people you may use Pidgin English but when you are in an official setting you use Standard English accepted in Nigeria...In some part of London you hear some people saying ..You is not correct ...That is their dialect. This is not the standard English ....My submission is that even if we cannot use English like native speakers in Australia Canada Britain and Ireland, we can still learn and use the language properly since it is the only only language that unites us in Nigeria as an official language.

Even The British sometimes goof in their language. We Nigerians also think English language is a measure of intelligence.

Most of you can't even speak, write or read fluently in your local language.shame on you
. Intelligence is not determined by English language and every body is bound to make mistakes in the language use. However the case of this woman is an aberration and should be discouraged.English is our official language and it is important to attain some skills in it.One of them is reading.. If you can't use English language well it is better to use your mother tonque....No substitute for English language in the modern Nigeria...If your husband is the governor and you can't speak or read English as his wife let him choose another person to fill in the gap or close the first lady office.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Kogi West senatorial rerun election inconclusive.

According to the returning officer, Professor Olayinde Lawal, the margin between the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Smart Adeyemi and that of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Dino Melaye is 20,570.

He announced that Mr Adeyemi polled a total of 80,118 votes, while Senator Melaye got 59,548 votes from the seven Local Government Areas in the senatorial district.

Prof Lawal explained that the total margin between both candidates is lower than the 43,127 registered voters in 53 polling units of 20 registration areas in the zone where elections were canceled.

The returning officer, who declared the election inconclusive said, he is constrained by law to declare a winner because of the lead margin between the leading candidates. He added that INEC will announce a new date for the conduct of a supplementary election in the 53 polling units before a winner can be returned.

Bayelsa election: Lokpobiri's lawyer in shock over disqualification of APC candidate Lyon

The camp of APC aspirant, Heineken Lokpobiri, who went to court to challenge the emergence of David Lyon as the governorship candidate of the party is in shock -

The Federal High Court refused to grant Lokpobiri's prayer that Lyon should be replaced with him - The court instead ruled that the party does not have any lawfully-selected candidate in the forthcoming election The camp of Heineken Lokpobiri, one of the aspirants that contested the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries ahead of the Bayelsa election, is currently lamenting its decision to challenge the outcome of the poll in court.
Lokpobiri had approached the Federal High Court in Bayelsa to declare him the authentic candidate of the APC in the state instead of David Lyon.

But, in a twist, the court, which was presided over by Justice Jane Inyang, ruled that the governorship primary conducted by the APC in the state was not done in compliance with electoral guidelines and the constitution of the party. Confusion in APC over sack of deputy governorship candidate in Bayelsa, party reacts to court ruling Consequently, the court declared that the APC has no candidate in the Bayelsa election.

In his reaction, Lokpobiri’s lawyer, Fitzgerald Olorogun, says he was shocked by the court's pronouncement because it was not part of their prayers. “It’s strange,” he said. When asked about the next move by the party, the lawyer said the court's decision stands and as a result of this, the APC has no candidate in the forthcoming election. He, however, assured that the necessary steps will be taken to address the decision of the court appropriately. Recall that Lokpobiri had been urging the people of Bayelsa to vote for the APC in the November 16 election, despite his court case against Lyon and the party.

The court on Thursday, November 14, ruled that the APC had no candidate for the forthcoming gubernatorial poll in the state.

In reaction to this, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to take note of the decision of the court.

. Only God saw what happened between them. However it is possible some Sexual intimacy took place between them. Establishing a rape case in the Nigerian law is very difficult. It requires catching the offender in action or shortly after the action and there must be evidence of the rape which must be testified to by a medical expert. Did the violated lady scream or the alarm is an afterthought? What is the age of the raped lady? Is she the girl friend of the rapist and so on.? How can one prove a rape case of 20 years ago? That is why there are many cases of rape carpeted in Nigeria for a want of evidence... How painful!

. What is a hate speech? Exoressions that attack tribes and religions. A hate speech can cause crisis religiously and tribally. A hate speech caused genocide in Rwanda in 1995.This is what this government wants to discourage.. The bill recommends death penalty for any hate speech that leads to loss of lives through violence. As for the penalty, it will be subjected to public hearing before it is passed to law. It will be modified and amended as appropriate. This bill does not discourage criticism or write up that praises or condemns the government. The bill is not about 2023..........

So what is the function of the covering affidavit
. the judge believed the afidavidit was a cover up for the certificate forgery. The court was not convinced he had genuine certificates .All the documents he presented have name irregularities....Affidavit is not a leeway for forgery.....
