Then what is wrong with me just wanting to just work and spend my time out of work just doing stuff I like?  undecided If both sides play that game of self-centeredness, then the relationship will fall apart fast.

There has to be give and take here, there cannot be "me me me" and selfishness in a relationship.

Life cannot be about what you want only. Give and take + compromise has to be the way to do things.

^-- Wow, lol.

I dunno what to say to that. I guess I've been fortunate enough to only run into chicks who like cooking and are relatively old-fashioned

@Ileke-Idi: Who said I won't cook too? Split if 50/50, or cook together.

@Inked_Nerd: I'm sure your mother is versatile enough to work a full time job, run the house, take care of her kids too.

I'm not part of the "women should stay in the kitchen barefoot and pregnant" crowd, but there have to be limits here  undecided

Whatever happened to basic hospitality  undecided

Even a stranger, if I have them in my house I'll offer them some food. Not to talk of your significant other. . .

Radical feminism is spoiling an entire generation of african women  sad

My Somali Muslim cousin is married to a Christian Nigerian man!!!! And they are gonna raise the kids Muslims.
haha

That is pretty cool. I guess the family must have extracted that promise before letting her marry? grin
Politics › Re: Soyinka Says Killings In The North Plannned, Fingers "buhari" by ektbear: 6:02am On Apr 29, 2011
@EzeUche__:I don't see any reason to blindly believe what anyone says. If there are accusations to be made, bring them before a court of law. Let the courts decide.

Aren't you the guy who was drooling over the good looks of your beloved enugu governor? Seems a bit hypocritical for you to accuse anyone else of being gay :]
Politics › Re: Soyinka Says Killings In The North Plannned, Fingers "buhari" by ektbear: 5:52am On Apr 29, 2011
Meh. Bring proof rather than innuendo.

Speaking of innuendo. . . lmao @ f1ngering buhari, doesn't sound very PG-13 to me :x
Politics › Re: Bola Tinubu Is A Religious Bigot by ektbear: 5:16am On Apr 29, 2011
I dunno. A disproportionate # of folks on the US Supreme Court are Catholics. 6 out of 9 . 2 of the 9 are Jewish. None are Protestants.

Yet Protestants are 51% of the US's population, while Catholics are only 25%, and Jews are 3%.

Is this some conspiracy against 51% of the US's population, that they have none of their co-religionists on the Supreme Court?

I don't think anyone really cares.

Religion really isn't that big a deal. . . shared culture is more important.

At least, in forward-thinking, progressive lands like the US and Yorubaland grin
Romance › Re: Can You Date A Girl That Won't Cook For You? by ektbear: 4:38am On Apr 29, 2011
Hmm, ok.

I guess for you, there are lot of feelings attached to it.

Me, it isn't a big deal. . . so long as things are fairly done, and nobody is turning somebody else into a slave.
Romance › Re: I Always Fall In Love With Girls That Don't Love Me.why? by ektbear: 4:32am On Apr 29, 2011
Must be very painful emotionally  sad

Don't give up though, there is someone for everybody.

I'd suggest waiting a lot longer to commit emotionally though. Falling in love too quickly is dangerous.

Also, how are you sure it isn't infatuation on your part rather than love? grin
Romance › Re: Can You Date A Girl That Won't Cook For You? by ektbear: 4:28am On Apr 29, 2011
^-- What if the tasks are split down the middle fairly? That is the best way to do things.

I don't think I'd have a girl move in unless we were engaged though. . . I like my personal space  grin

I see your point though. . . getting all the benefits of marriage while not being married probably isn't fair smiley
Romance › Re: To The Guys In The House: Body Beauty Vs Facial Beauty by ektbear: 4:26am On Apr 29, 2011
Body beauty > facial beauty for me

Girl with an average face but amazing body is still great in more attractive to me than amazing face, average body.

^-- What is her reason for not cooking?

Even my friends and I cook for each other. . . I'll go over to my buddy's house to watch a game and he and his girl'll have some food ready. And vice versa.
Romance › Re: As A Christian Can You Marry A Moslem by ektbear: 4:16am On Apr 29, 2011
Just to reverse the question a bit. Would a Muslim woman ever marry a Christian guy? I've not seen this happen very often.

Sounds like some juju stuff. Either that, or loving so good that she can never forget it smiley
Romance › Re: Can You Date A Girl That Won't Cook For You? by ektbear: 4:13am On Apr 29, 2011
She won't cook, or cannot?

Would be a bit unfair if I'm cooking for her and she isn't cooking for me
Romance › Re: How Do You Payback A Guy/gal That Donated His Blood To Save You? by ektbear: 4:12am On Apr 29, 2011
I don't get it.

Is it like you have a rare blood type, needed a tranfusion and there was only one guy available with the matching blood type who was able to donate huh

Or what is the scenario here.

Plus aren't these blood donor things usually anonymous? They have a blood bank somewhere. . . how would you ever find out who you got the transfusion from?

I'm confused

And osu is a class of people who were ritually sacrificed to the gods. Descendants of weaklings who were too craven to live on their own and had to seek protection from shrines.

Basically like the untouchables from India

That is what this dude is

Very interesting. And if GEJ doesn't arrest any northern leaders, let's see if the militants then follow up on their bold words.

Where is this plan? Is it written up somewhere as a document of some sort? Like, with specific things they want to accomplish by 2013 and 2015?
