weedtaker:He has only played as a striker in one season, 2009/2010. Injury ruined it for us it was a great season until he injured in Munich, and SAF had to force him into games which further aggravated the injury. Then Berbatov couldn't carry us in the run in. SAF decision to rest let players against Chelsea at Old Trafford was also a bad idea. Nani and Carrick I think missed starting that match when Drogba's offside goal ensured Chelsea went two goals up and ended it. In 2011/12 Rooney did not play on top. The number of times Chicha and Welbeck were flagged offside is more than enough evidence. I rest may case. |
elrony:RVP was just an opportunist. Chikena. Welbeck and Chicha were ready to lead our line in front of Rooney to win the league in 2011/13. Just as three of them gave us a great attacking football the previous season. RVP came from nowhere to spoil the structure, and that's what we suffer today. Many players who were used to running freely into the box had to learn to play towards a focal man every match of the season. |
chrisley024:When Rooney is playing on top, there is usually no strong person to do all the laborious work behind him as he did for others. The support is usually weak. But he supports others well when playing behind. |
SIRcumalot:Na true I talk. We did better in 2011/2012 than 2012/2013 despite all the injuries and Paul Scholes absence. Van Persie was just an opportunist considering Chicha and Welbeck were event better matured in 2012/13 and few injuries. Man City internal crisis from middle of the league also helped us to pull away. Otherwise we had less goals difference in 2012/13 while finishing same point. Mata, from when he came, it was bad bad results. Just like when he was in Chelsea. |
weedtaker:Mata and RVP are negatives to a team. Period! Mata in Chelsea dragged them from league contenders or even winners to a team just smuggling to make top four. When he left, just RVP is an hyena who makes everyone else to work for him, and eventually render them impotent in front of goals. As soon as he left Arsenal, Giroud, Ramsey and co started learning how to score again. |
madridguy:Routine number is not the same as BVN. Routine number can best pass as CBN Nuban number in Nigeria for ease of transfer of fund among bank accounts. Moreover I doubt if all data in USA are consolidated into one number with citizens biometric number as base. |
weedtaker:Mata was their problem. That was why Mourinho dropped him because he had followed Chelsea games from the moment he was prompted to take over. My topic is EPL where teams play agidigba football, not Europe. However, Ramirez and Drogba won the Champions League for Chelsea. Plus the doggedness of the defence - Ivanovic, Lampard, Mikel, Memeires, etc who fought badly in Camp Nou. Van Persie was just lucky because we would surely have won the EPL without him. Our performance of 2011/12 surpassed our performance of 2012/13. Go and check the records and stats. That's without Paul Scholes half of the season, coupled with SAF punishing Rooney from playing against Blackburn and resting Scholes away to Newcastle when Scholes influenced every game for us. RVP as a lone striker is unfavorable for a team, with time he will block all the route to goal with his hyena attitude, and eventually render all forward players unless. Any wonder Nani, Valencia, Young, Kagawa, Anderson, struggled playing with RVP and finally becoming weak? He left Arsenal and Arsenal forwards have learnt to score because the route to goal is opened. When he scored 30 goals at Arsenal, they finished 4th, that's because no player supported him with goals as he blocked the route. Feenabache don't use him as their lone striker, he mostly used as one of two. |
madridguy:Is social security number linked to ones biometric data with all ones bank accounts mandatorily linked it? What's the National ID card for? |
weedtaker: The season has not ended yet. William and Oscar won the league without Mata toping the league 37 weeks of the season. When Mata was in Chelsea they finished 6th 25 points below the league winner. The next season they finished 3rd 14 points below the winner. When has Chelsea been so poor before, and even after? |
weedtaker:One question. What positions did Chelsea finished in the EPL while Mata was there? * At Christmas under Moyes, we had fought our way within few points of going top. Injuries to Jones, Rooney, Welbeck who were key to our run set us back. |
666 They are getting ready for the revelation mark. It's now just a step away before it's converted to a microchip to be implanted in the body. |
coded01:Merry Christmas. |
weedtaker:Your post is not logical. You ended up saying almost the same I think I said earlier. You just love Mata. Period! Players like Mata are a set back to a team desiring to win the EPL. Mata is 27, at his age JS Park was tagged a big game player by SAF. JS Park could play in the wing and number 10 successfully. JS Park was capable of robbing the ball off opposition in any part of the field, and commencing an attack thereof. He was very small but strong. His final passes and through balls were almost as good as Scholes' and Giggs'. Where Scholes and Giggs had advantages over him was making a pin pointing cross or putting the ball on someone's head precisely from anywhere in the final third. May be too, long balls to team mates. Mata doesn't have these either. Park can be part of a great counter attack Under Moyes, we were in contention for even the title, immediately we bought Mata, we had a series of bad results such that within a month or two our hope of reaching top 4 was dashed. This was a player bought to rescue us. He will cope individual stats no doubt, but at the end his general contribution to helping the team to be feared is zero. You talk about padding the team to make Mata play batter, is that not same thing we do for Fellaini. Both thrive when the players behind them are strong and having quick feet. On the other hand, JS Park thrived in all weather. JS Park and Tevez were the king of pressing on the ball and robbing it off opponents in opposition half, and then going forward to utilize it. Rooney was the king of chasing the ball long way back and dispossessing it off opponents. |
airmark:Yaya Toure is African. Add 3-5 years to his age. |
We can still rescue our season if had Rojo back quickly. Schweinsteiger should be available after next match. The returning players who played our last match should be better next match because they should have had two weeks training - better match fitness. Hopefully Val should be match fit by March. If Shaw, Val, Jones and Rojo did not suffer injuries, there's no way we would be in this situation. We pray for no more injuries while hoping we boost our squad with 2-3 experienced hires. |
Van Gaal Philosophy is not totally useless. It will work if: 1. He has the right players, particularly in the wings. 2. If he has a large squad of experience players. 3. If he's good at his selections and substitutions. Even Ajax of 1995 had Finidi George who could sneak behind the defence with intelligent run and deliver a pin point final pass/cross. Martial/Depay/Lingard have awful final balls as compared to our wingers under SAF. Giggs at 40 would deliver from the wings better than our current wingers. |
Mata is too slow and too soft. We have really gone back. JS Park, a squad player, was far better than this Mata. It's a calamity having Mata, Blind, Carrick and Fellaini starting all together. If you put Val and Scherdeline, it could make sense starting these soft players together. There should be a right mix. |
No team has lost 5 matches at this stage that goes ahead to win the Premier League. History doesn't favour Man City. |
Jose Mourinho : Rumours dey talk say na 5 years. ............. May be no matter what happens now, Mourinho will replace Gaal in May the latest. My thinking based on the way things are right now. |
Phil Jones has claimed that the negative feeling at the club has not yet reached the levels it did under David Moyes, despite a spell of six games without a win. United have lost three games on the bounce in all competitions, a run that has included a group-stage Champions League exit and back-to-back Premier League defeats to newly-promoted sides. Fans voiced their displeasure following Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to Norwich City, while manager Louis van Gaal has reportedly been given just two more games to save his job, but Jones insists that things have been worse during his time at the club. "I wouldn't say it's the lowest moment. I think it became pretty glum, if you like, under David Moyes and it was unfortunate. We weren't playing well at the time, "There's no point saying we've played some good football this season because ultimately we've lost three games in a row - but we have in patches. We need to stick together, there's nothing else you can do. "The manager is doing all he can and is doing a terrific job. It's not even questionable in the dressing room. The lads are absolutely fully focused on performing well for the manager, the fans, ourselves – week in, week out. The players in there aren't hiding behind anyone." tess1:May be it's the reason Young was kept on the bench in the last three games. When he came on against PSV, he sent many crosses from afar into the box. He didn't follow possession style. Generally one major problem with the team is lack of urgency. No hurry, no risk taking, no biting, etc. It's until we are into the last 20 mins we remember we need to look for goals desperately. During SAF it was attack me, I attack you. From the blast of the whistle. |
SIRcumalot:This is why if we must change our coach, it has to be one used to EPL. Some like Mourinho. Gaal should be used to the oppositions already but he believes in playing same style in every game. He doesn't see the need to change the plan when things aren't working. |
It's official, Guardiola to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season. Ancelotti to take over. |

nyabinghi:Depay tried today, but his final balls need to improve. Just imagine Giggs behind the opposition defence line......... Depay find himself there again and again. The first time he stamped the goalkeeper when he should have pulled it out for a possible tap in. |
Herrera showed why he should start games for us. He brought urgency to our game. We always waste our first 45 minutes playing slowly, playing safe passes believing there's plenty of time. We could have gotten a slim win if our defence did not underrate Norwich forward players. I thought apart from weak DMs, Smalling and Blind left the defence exposed. Smalling joined attack when it appeared nothing was working. The result was that there was no coverage in front of defence, and no partner to sweep behind. What could have been the first goal was when. Smalling himself got beaten but the striker had to shoot from afar because Jones was behind on the edge of the box. The second goal was avoidable too. Schederline was one of the best DMs last season, why aren't we using him? Martial should be moved to the middle either as lead striker or as one of two strikers. He doesn't have long distance speed yet to out pace EPL players from afar. He has to develop that. His inter changing of pass is lacking there as compared to what Mata offered when playing in front of Val/Young. |
I don't support change of manager. We will start all over and in two years we would still be revolving round circles. If at all, Mourinho would do better than anyone because of his knowledge of EPL. |
The slow pace with which we take the ball forward is a worry. Norwich didn't stand any chance of scoring until that goal came out from nowhere. |
AdeLaNa1:They were not available. SAF approached both Mourinho and Guardiola and they already were engaged by Chelsea and Bayern respectively. I believe at that time too, Madrid were already in talk with Ancelotti. ................ Sir Alex Ferguson approached Carlo Ancelotti for Manchester United job says Florentino Perez m.sportskeeda.com/football/sir-alex-ferguson-approached-carlo-ancelotti-manchester-united-job-florentino-perez |
Joagbaje:I have a confirmation from someone who is from the village that the man is a Pastor. He also confirmed the story is 100% true . He also told me more wicked things the pastor did, even to people who were very kind to him. It's a pity. |

RvP the hyena was blocking others from scoring is now out and the team now scores 3 goals per match or Mata now does the blocking.
