If you see Kay - The Script |
@DBR Emi ke?? I'm enjoying the moment like mad. I don't want to wait till I have a wife and three troublesome boys before I start gbaduning this life. ![]() |
javalove:Oh yeah . . . I say that to myself when I'm taking a shaggable girl to the movies. ![]() Don't worry, it's not a date, it's just a dinner ![]() |
DJ Wales:That's an interesting way to see it. . . I think rap should try to be music. I know many people that still don't accept rap as music. . . Noel Gallagher still said it two years ago. Many rappers (Kanye, Eminem, Weezy, Jay-Z) still hold on to the musical roots of rap, in their delivery, they tend to sing out their lines . . . see Jay-Z's Forever Young. Now is rap good music?? I think not. javalove:When you rap over a Bob Marley beat, it's no longer a hiphop song. |
javalove:It's my opinion, yes. And about the critics, I know you're a groupie, but a smart groupie . . . use the internet, it's your friend. ![]() So how far bout your date with Modenine?? ![]() |
DBR:I've heard M9 hoarse before, I've never heard him sound like M.I. We can't keep dragging this as I said. . . We are restricted by our descriptive abilities, pick up any M.I song and pick up any Modenine song and you'll see this. I've asked everyone I can and it's usually a first-instance admission I get. Before M.I, no one ever said Modenine sounded like anyone else, there were other rappers we could have pinned it on if I was that desperate. Y'all just have the opinion that the world is against M9. DBR:Go to the thread that was set up by sum Caliente guy and see. They said it can't be M.I, it must be Weezy, now I'm hearing Ludacris . . . next thing I'll hear Fatai Rolling Dollar ![]() DBR:Hehehe . . . big difference. We all know you construe things falsely to achieve the high expectations you've placed on Modenine. That post proved my point. oNe ![]() |
@Tavarez Talk about ignorance . . . when did I ever say Modenine is poor?? Scratch that, did I ever imply that Modenine was poor?? Is this what I get for deciding to reply posts from imbecilic retards like you?? M.I is the first person that will tell you he's was broke. You read my comments, I never read yours, you're just a silly groupie. Modenine sold 10,000 copies of Malcom ixI don't pity you, it's the poor man that thinks his son actually gained sumn from high school I pity. You keep dropping stuff that only you know where you got it from, pub gist and B.S like that, I'm pointing to Modenine's self written Myspace profile and you're here spewing fuckery. If M.I and his record label says he sold 30,000 in half an hour, why shouldn't I believe him?? @Javalove It's an opinion, I think M.I is a better artiste than Modenine. Most music critics agree with that, I won't stay here and argue with a groupie. ![]() Mr 'I hope to have a dinner with him one day' ![]() |
JT and sportsmen in general are paid to play the game and conduct themselves professionally on-field. . . Whatever they do off the field as long as it aint illegal is nobody's business. They're entitled to a private life, that they worked hard and made themselves successful unlike most people doesn't rob them off that right.Stop being a romanticist and face facts. . . In the ideal world, that's how it should be. But do people earn £130,000 per week for playing a game they enjoy in the ideal world?? Do people get millions of pounds for smiling on a carton of cereal in the ideal world?? Do people pay £50 a month to watch the Premier League in the ideal world? Success comes with these things . . . especially in a football setting that's become show-business. No one would care if he weren't successful, Jermaine Defoe shagged Dareen Bent's girlfriend a couple of years ago, no one gave two fucks about it, but then Jermaine Defoe at the time was not a £130,000 a week, regular captain of an EPL-winning team and England captain. With great power comes great responsibilities . . . Insult me from now till next year, but off-pitch expectations come with success in modern football. You're the one that ends up sounding overly sentimental at the end of the day. So because he earns 130,000 a week he should be subjected to harrasment and those who earn £50 deserve all the peace and quiet. . . .what rubbish! Did he steal the money? No . . . you missed the point. People that earn £10 also get harassed by people that know them, this just happens to be on a national scale because he is more famous than Joe Robinson of Cottingham Boys FC. It's the price of fame, I didn't make the rules. The sad thing is most of these footballers come from less privileged backgrounds, some had no parents others single parents, some with parents who abandoned them. Quite a number grew up as street kids. A large number probably are school drop outsAnother stretch of romanticist ideologies. A recent study showed that most football fans are from working class families so I don't get your whole tirade against the fans. Where do they get their perfection from?? The same place players like Dennis Bergkamp and Alan Shearer get theirs from. Let's be practical here, if you don't do sumn that is an extreme deviation from social norms, you don't actually get people talking. ![]() No one says anything if you shout at the press once in a while, no one criticises you for getting a parking ticket . . . only extreme stories like punching up people at clubs and cheating on your wife actually get longevity on the tabloids. Its not John Terry's job to be a role model for your kids, isn't that your job description as a parent? That's another misconception . . . the media has become the strongest agent of socialization in the Western world. It's not the parents' choice, the technology they use just got more wide-reaching and attractive to the kids. That being said, if the public, who are major contributors to this aspect of society decide to fight when they go out of hand, there is nothing wrong with that. They are both morally and legally within their rights to be instrumental in the social control of societal values. The normal thing shoulda been for vannessa to embark on "Three years mourning because WB dumped her asz", right?. . .what a joke.I guess this is your way of playing dumb to argue. No one is saying she should go celibate, but sleeping with your ex's best mate just a few months after your breakup is not right on any level. I don't know where you live but integrity is an important value in Britain. The MPs are still being criticised for misappropriating funds that are as worthless as £50. Now, about Terry, he has been one of the first people to talk about loyalty and integrity to the press. He calls divers cheats, he claims to be loyal to Chelsea, but all of a sudden . . . poof, he betrays one of his best mate. I don't know about your value system, but where I'm from . . . it is as wrong as the word goes. Why don't you all rant and rave about the average joe at harrods who got three girls pregnant? Why should it only be successful people? Now if I cheat on my girlfriend, I get condemned by everyone that knows me . . . the only difference is the fact that more people know John Terry and the outcry gets louder. It's not my fault . . . it's the price of fame. Like I said, y'all should get a life! And stop leeching of others to add meaning to yours.Hehehe . . . has it gone this personal?? ![]() Well, all I've explained earlier in this post should should be able to curb this overly emotional outburst of sentiment. |
javalove:I've told you many times, I do not hate Modenine. I just think M.I is better. . . full stop. Everyone said I hated Jay-Z a year ago, but he released a rap-defining album and I promoted it like I did with L's My Ex. Unlike you, everything I say on this section is for the love of music not for personal sentiments towards an artiste. We all know sentiments mess with people's brains and forces them to be irrational. ![]() slimshay:I'm apologise. . . my mistake. But you have to admit that the only people that where actually musically inclined in Trybesmen were Eldee and 2shot. That said, M.I took it to a whole new level. . .he literally fought shows agaist the D'banjs and Terry Gs of this world. oNe ![]() |
DBR:I've heard all of Modenine's albums, most of his mixtapes and his freestyles. Each time this argument comes up, you guys recommend another song and I go listen to it . . . Before now, no one had ever come out to say Modenine sounds like anybody else, why didn't all the non-Mode9 fans say he sounded like Lil wayne/M.I in all the other songs?? Why didn't we 'hear what we wanted to hear' back then. Maybe, we all had a meeting and randomly selected Badman of all the Modenine songs to question his originality on. DBR, you talk about seeing what we wanna see?? Hehehe . . . coming from someone that analyzed the Da Vinci Mode cover and saw ghosts of Da Vinci all over it ![]() tavarez:Stop being a retard, who else knows about the sales of an album in Nigeria apart from the marketers themselves?? Oh, why don't you just let us go check the billboard charts to see who's telling the truth?? This is when it gets over the top . . . dropping a silly point and using insults to push it forward. Modenine's team came out and said Malcolm IX sold 10,000 copies, is that hype too?? oNe ![]() |
@Rhymstein You know what . . . I can't keep arguing this. It's sumn everyone can see, twisting the truth will not help me achieve anything. You guys have said he sounded like everyone from Lil Wayne to T.I, but we all know the truth. Modenine even goes back to the one we know and love at the end of the video with 10 secs from Dresscode. I even think Modenine will be man enough to say it if asked in an interview. It doesn't do anything to him, M.I comes out everyday to say he's adapted Kanye and Lil Wayne's lines to suit the Nigerian market. Accuse him of biting, but you can't call sumone a biter if he mixes influences from 3-4 artistes. |
Quit reading dirty gossip mags. . .grow up!You find out its the hypocrites who open up their mouths most and blow hot air whenever allegations like this come up meanwhile they cheat too. How is it your business who JT sleeps with? Are you his wife? This incident wouldn't be news if majority of you noise makers got a life instead of leeching off others like JT to add meaning to yours.
As a successful international footballer, captain of England and Chelsea, being a role model comes in your job description. That's why people get punished for shouting at referees, kicking flags and all that. You don't earn £130,000 and expect your life to be the same, the fans pay your wages and they expect you to be perfect, on and off the pitch. If you love your privacy and autonomy that much, get a 9-5 like the millions of people that cheat without being on the front page of newspapers. That being said, this is less of an issue of morals than it is of integrity. There is no where in this world it's normal to shag the mother of your mate's child just immediately after they split. A man should have his integrity and loyalty as a badge. . .failure to do so will lead to public scrutiny and there is nothing wrong with that. |
Votes and Ofokasibe don't go together. Aimoye elections that he's rigged just for the fun of it ![]() |
Modenine is finally taking the bold step and i bet its gonna work well for him!!!!Bold step?? More like smart move. Pre M.I, it was inconceivable that a Nigerian rapper could be lyrically inclined and entertain at the same time. At least that's what everyone thought. Then came Mr Incredible . . . with 30,000 copies in 30 minutes . . . that ratio is probably better than Rick Ross' Deeper than Rap. When M.I says he's the Naija Rap Messaiah, we know he's telling the truth. He's like Blueprint 3 to Nigerian hiphop, his impact on the industry left it beyond recognition. |
@Rhymestein Are we going to keep lying to ourselves on this issue?? We all know Badman sounded as M.I as it will ever get. We know the album is a really good one . . . FACT!!! But we don't have to lie about simple matters like these . . . it's like saying Naeto-C never heard of T.I ![]() |
chiogo:Oh shit . . . I'm actually 17. |
FL Gators:Nah, call me El . . . call him ER ![]() |
spikedcylinder:So I'm just a walking god?? Thanks for the compliment, but I'm only human, I'm not that legendary. ![]() chiogo:Nah b . . . gangsta is childish. Me I'm on that Blueprint, niggas like how come?? ![]() Hehehe . . . I refuse to make any further comments on my age. ![]() |
spikedcylinder:Yeah I know . . . but they decide if the songs should have a separate album launch in Nigeria. Hehehe . . . how do you explain the ones in Germany and the Spanish chics?? |
spikedcylinder:The deal was actually quite good . . . but they own copyright to his work for about three years. That means they have to rubberstamp any decision to release a new song 'anywhere in the Universe'. Me wowor?? My fine-boyishness is internationally acclaimed. I've got groupies in Sri Lanka. ![]() |
@Javalove That's genius . . . but your programme didn't find Chasisgirl, Flowshow, Edosio, Bjpumpingdogg . . . etc. You need to write Revealex 2.0 ![]() |
spikedcylinder:He got signed by Notting Hill Records. . . the second largest music outfit over here. The handle business for artistes like Jay-Z, Beyonce and Mariah Carey in the UK. He got arrested by one of their scouts for killing em softly at a concert. ![]() Moi?? worwor?? Are you sure you're not confusing me with Sauron?? ![]() rapjunkie:Nah . . . Darey's voice, even without effects is at par with guys like R Kelly. He can actually sing. . . and his range is really good. Banky is much better at making songs . . . but Darey's vochal chords? no competition. |
Got an info/ the eyes is the window/ to the soulI used to call you the most improved netcee before. With lines like these, you're probably in the same league with Streetwise and Ibime. |
spikedcylinder:Nah . . . he was being a lazy plonker when M.I was in the UK this summer. Besides, he's not a big fan, he thinks M.I's too American. He'll do a Lagos Town remix video after the album release, he really wants 9ice and Dbanj on the song. Yours truly might even be on it. ![]() Yeah, it's just the teaser. . . I posted the full video a while back, I had to take it off when he got signed. ![]() |
Funny thing is, I got the first album and it wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be. She had a few songs where she was off-key, but in the collabos, she was as good as anyone else. Naija Lowa was a club-banger . . . y'all need to judge her as you would the average artiste and not as an actress-cum musician. Production was great, her voice was autotuned so it sounded okay and the songwriting was as good as that of any Nigerian artiste. She's not a Whitney Houston, but then . . . how many Nigerian chics can actually belt a good note?? She's a legend at what she does and her verstility just makes her more attractive. Her dancing on the Nigerian version of Strictly Come Dancing was okay too. She's Nigeria's very own Jay-Lo, and no I'm not talking bout that ass ![]() |
FL Gators:Yo. . . WTF!!! That El name is copyright protected!!! I'm here trying to change my username to El and you're busy using it for just any and every producer around. Try it again and I'll sue both of you ![]() |
spikedcylinder:Hehehe . . . Banky's not that bad. He's almost as good as Darey. . . but I have to ask, who does the choreography in his videos?? That person should come to me, I'll get him a 9-5. ![]() And what do you think about L's My Ex video?? |
DBR:Carefully?? More like cleverly avoiding it ![]() I see where you're coming from, they can't be totally exclusive, but they share such distant meanings they might as well be different words. You do have a strong point, a different word would have been better, but I see why Ruggedman would use the words. Are you actually taking Ofoka seriously?? ![]() |
DBR:That's not moi . . . but believe me, the autotune thingy aside, he's good. And the fact that he's lyrically inclined makes him better. Best of all, he reps Naija a lot . . . speaks pidgin and I'm helping them learn Yoruba (in the city of blind men, the one-eyed man is the king) ![]() Do you know any British-Nigerian guy that performs Femi Kuti's Bang Bang Bang in front of a predominantly white audience?? |
chiogo:Nah . . . Will Smith is a style icon, but I'm just saying I'd rather be like Will Smith than Young Jeezy. Hehehe . . . you didn't figure my age, just cus he's 22 don't mean I'm that age. ![]()
you know him personally? yea i know he's not a celebrity but still. who else do u kno? just make sure to create a topic n post the music when his album comes out. esp since u already confirmed to us that it's off the hook
Yeah, he's in a music clique with his brother, Chykay and two other guys. VIP access when we go clubbing is the best thing about it ![]() You'll surely get to know when the album is out, he's signed to Notting Hill Music . . . second largest music company in the UK. As soon as the album is out, I'll post Lagos Town, regardless of whether it makes the album or not.
yea. some guys just have more swagga/style to get girls. no matter how ugly they are. lollol i'm not picking on your looks eldee. cause i don't kno what u look like
Hehehe . . . how much of my 'swagga' can you read in my posts?? |
The Crazies Crap attempt . . . same ol' sumn's controlling everyone to kill everyone. Bla bla bla. |
chiogo:Nah . . . Will Smith = Style Fresh Prince = Swagger He's 22 . . . |
