hackney:
^^^^^^^ why do you think 'they' in particular are entertainers?
They didnt have what it took for school brain-wise so expecting a political symposium from someone like
dizzy rascal or taio is raising the bar a bit too high for the lads.

fair is fair
I've seen smart entertainers . . . I've listened to Jay-Z and 50 Cent speak on issues like that . . . they are extremely smart.
Go listen to Lil Wayne's interview on BET's Monique show and see what I'm talking about.

These artistes here are just products of record companies taking advantage of the hype.
When you start getting famous, you should get people to school you on stuff like that, afterall American record labels school their acts on how to talk to the press.

OMO IBO:
I pray he is not Nigerian.

Saw on him The Wright's show sometime last year. Not only is this guy a dawdler he is also a dullard.

Dude, had absolutely no opinion on any of the issues raised.
What da hell. I felt embarrased for him.

At a point, the Matthew Wright stopped asking him questions.

What a plonker he is!
I don't know if it's a daftness is a requirement to be a black hiphop artiste in the UK.
Have you seen that popular video of Dizzy Rascal talking about Obama on BBC . . . I was dissappointed to the state of pity.
The reporter was even making him look stupid and he kept acting the role. . . cheesy cheesy

@hax
It's not about smart or stupid . . . It's about being interested.
I didn't understand the cowshit line till I saw it in an interview.

I didn't know about the concept of Successful until recently.
Why?? I wasn't interested.

I'm sure you won't have posted wrong lyrics if this were Blackthought or Kweli.
I don't see anything wrong with that . . . music is extremely subjective, I can't force my views on you.

The female dog part was just for laughs . . . hence the smileys and the reference to Chiogo
Don't go all Mutallab on me jare grin grin

rapjunkie:
Nice one eldee. . . . Interesting reading. . . . Maybe ill go listen to a bit more weezy. Cant really cmment cos i havent bothered to listen to a lot of his stuff but u've made me want to. . .
He could be quite crap sometimes . . . but you have to come with an open mind.
And he puts out so much stuff that you know he can't be on point all the time.

But when he's good, he's great . . . even Obama agrees. cheesy cheesy cheesy
Music/Radio › Re: Drake Vs Lil'wayne by eldee(m): 4:11pm On Jan 22, 2010
@hax
This is a record low . . . you posted a song where Drake had three verses and where Weezy rapped for just thirty seconds?? grin grin grin
Understand the song first before you start commenting on it . . . it was a discussion between Drake and Weezy.
If you listen to the song, you'll hear Lil Wayne's phone call.
Drake is talking about how he doesn't know what he really wants, Weezy is telling him to get it through evil means.

hax:
[Lil Wayne]
Uh
Pardon the swag, but b!tch it's carte
Long bread, I don't eat shortcake, how come I can't
miss a woman like I can't miss court dates
huh
It's carte from 'a la carte' . . . a french phrase for 'on the menu'.

'Long bread, I don't eat short cake' . . . that's referring to the 'They be staring at the money like it's unfamiliar'
But Weezy's so used to having swag and too much money a la carte.

In most developed nations, missing a court date cold get you held in contempt in addition to your jail term.
He applies both meanings of the word 'miss'.

cheese,
but shes not in this portrait
Yeah life's fine, but I don't portray

This part also refers to both food on the menu, but also what you say when you take pics.
Drake talked about Alicia, the ex-girlfriend he misses . . . but to Lil Wayne, they're not in the big picture . . . just items on the menu.
But he points out that he's not that happy bout his new life, so he's not really fine.

i dont want the glow,
i want the glow ray,
and imma bleep the world,
but this is just pre-intimacy

This is about where Drake talks about the hype he's getting . . . Weezy tells him to go after the glory and not just success.
'I'ma fukc the world but this is just pre-intimacy' . . . this line is self explanatory.

I'm on the other side, but it is a short gate

He's successful already but it's so easy to lose everything in the rap game.

Tired of hearing bullshiit, bring on the cow shiit
Haven't met a smell that's stinkier then our shiit
And that's word up in Toronto

Drake is from Canada . . . they're famous for their countryside farms, cows and their milk.
He's signing Drake because he's different from all the American rappers that rap B.S, hence the reason for the use of the phrase . . . 'and that's word up in Toronto'

Ha, ain't that a female dog
Ask her who I am to her, and she yell "God"
Weezy Baby, I go re-al hard

That's just him saying 'ain't that a naughty woman'
He's ban.gin a chic and when he asks her 'what's my name' she says 'God' . . . you wouldn't understand this, tell Chiogo to explain it to you grin grin grin

No further details bar

This is the best closing I heard all last year.
He did 40secs of metaphorical glory and says to the verse 'no further details bar'
This is a boss move . . . you thing those Grammys are for nothing??

The 40 secs of hiphop heavenly feeling makes Drake's three verses sound like erm . . . 'shopping bag Lucy'. grin grin
Drake and Lil Wayne on this song is like Kanye and Jay-Z on Diamonds are Forever. . .
I can't believe you're comparing those 'Mr shopping bag Drizzy' lines to Lil Wayne!!! WOW!!! shocked shocked shocked
Dude, I can't keep explaining these verses to you . . . you underrate him so you don't even pay attention.

Even Drake talks about it . . . he mentioned how he goes on Google and reads to make one song and when he plays it to Weezy, he just scribbles down a verse that tears his apart right there in the studio.
Scratch that . . .Weezy's talent has been signed and sealed by the people you consider the greatest rappers.

And when he got to LA, guess who he met, Taio Cruz himself.
He saw him on a TV show claiming to be British . . . guess what he did, he called him out on live TV.

Jayzee has always been an ignorant Jack backside, not because of this thread,he's always been
Jay-Z's far from ignorant . . . he's one of the smartest African American men around.
There aren't many rappers that's actually smarter than Jay-Z.

He spews some things that make you know admit the fact that exposure more important than formal education.

Most of the ones on football scholarships are on less than 1000 pw, the young pros initial contract are between that and 5000 pw (and that is still a lot of money cos a lot of people don't even earn up to 400 pw) so its not much money compared to one big player like Gallas earning close to 100K pw. The academy structure is already in place and they'll ensure they don't go over capacity as the coaches and scouts are already contracted.

It is survival of the fittest and only the best survive, which is what you and I want at the end of the day, there are some of the players that are even good enough but lost to injury (e.g Danny Karbasiyoon and Ryan Garry) but Arsenal always try to really educate the lads and even get them some other educational qualifications like NVQs in case they don't make it or even reemploy some of them in other capacities.

Also, they can only go on free transfer if over 23, or else the club taking them on will have to pay compensation which can get very high as was the case of Sturridge recently between Man City and Chelsea which could get as high as 6.5 million.
I'm not entirely sure, but I hear the youth team take in about 15 local players a year . . . it's an U-18 team.
Players are taken in when they're 16-17, get trained and paid and trained and promoted to the reserves at 19.
Now those ones earn about £500-£2000 . . . depending on how good they are.

Now my problem is not those ones, it's the ones that are flown in from say France or sumn . . . these ones are the Barazites and Owusu Abeyes.
My point is, if you're going to bring in three youth player many of which we have to pay compensation for, they need to be top-notch.
It doesn't make any economic sense to bring in players that are not wonderkids. . .

Now I know the trial and error style might be good, but I think we can regulate it a lil bit.
In a team like Barcelona, they can afford to buy Abdulutallab from Yemen, it doesn't affect them . . . bt come on, this is Arsenal

And I think big name youth signings like Vela sometimes stop equally talented youth players from getting chances to make it.
Afterall, anyone will play a £500, 000 compensation fee signing before a free of charge Jackson or sumn.

As I said before, these are just assumptions . . . I might be way off-course.

MrCrackles:
And how much are the kids earning to bring about a significant or sharp rise on our wage bill huh
It's more than just the wages of the players, remember that more players in our youth teams mean the need to improve the youth system to accommodate them, this means we start to pay coaches.
It also means more training expenses and many other things like that.

It doesn't make economic sense to pay someone and spend money on him per week if we know he's going to end up in Plymouth on a free at the end of the day.

Come on . . .

Do you know how many suicides could have been avoided if people didn't just go with the 'I'm not just that into you' style??

I usually try to convince her that she's not really into me.
It's just a mind game, she usually ends up thinking she was wrong and she feels bad about putting you in that position.
And then she sees an easy way out to escape from the whole thing. grin grin

Talk about avoiding the crux of the matter?? Tick
Letting her down softly?? Tick
Being the good guy?? Tick
