Health › Re: How 'Nurse Eliza' Nearly Killed Me by ElPhoche(m): 4:32pm On Mar 30, 2019 |
thesicilian: The level of ignorance on Nairaland is amazing. Someone comes to make unfounded allegations and everyone starts forming solidarity. Doesn't the fact that there was blood mixed with the injection in the syringe prove that the needle was actually in the right place, the vein? The doctor may have simply come to take over because of the patient's drama, not necessarily that the nurse was doing the wrong thing. And no matter how common a drug is, even paracetamol, anyone can react to it by feeling dizzy and weak. Doesn't mean that the medical team is quack! I wanted to comment this but most of the people here are usually daft when it comes to medical matters and just comment anything that enters their mind |
Health › Re: How 'Nurse Eliza' Nearly Killed Me by ElPhoche(m): 4:30pm On Mar 30, 2019 |
TOPCRUISE: That's an outright careless stab. I never knew some nurses are assigned to use human being do experiments or project. So the other nurse took the injection from him/ her and tutored him how it is been done Read well and don't be in a rush to comment. Reconcile the post with your own and know who gave what when. |
Romance › Re: Could I Be Responsible For The Pregnancy? by ElPhoche(m): 9:39am On Feb 05, 2019 |
Evtspez: Ignore any grammatical errors please. I will make it concise. My girlfriend visited me 20th December 2018 and we had unprotected s*x. Base on what she told me about her menstrual cycle, her ovulation period falls within the date. Before she left my crib early January she has started menstruating which came 4 days earlier than usual. Exactly a month she called that she has not seen her period. My concern is am I truly responsible for it? Considering the fact that : She started her menstrual period before leaving my crib, even though I know semen can survive for 5 days in the reproductive tract of a lady but even at that her ovulation can't take place immediately which makes such chances slim.
Medical experts in the house can a lady get pregnant and still experience heavy flow of menses? My understanding is even if it occurs it comes light.
My reasons for seeking public/experts opinions: I will travel so I would like to travel together with her if there's chances of me being responsible for it because I don't want her to suffer. As no DNA test can be carried out at this stage, I don't want to take responsibility and at the end the pregnancy is not mine. Thanks in anticipation for your inputs. There is a phenomenom called 'implantation bleeding' which occurs after the fertilized egg is now attaching to the wall of the womb. Sometimes, this bleeding could be mistaking for menses because it occurs around the time that would expect the next menses. Congrats in advance... |

Just last week Tuesday, i slept in the airport in Miami from 8pm to 6am. I looked for a small nkoro, and used my bag as my pillow. Cold do me thirty shaa. It is actually a common site, i wasnt the only one there both times, we were many. In fact, you can buy a blanket inside the airport to sleep with |

valito: people in the medical line will tell you individuals what is up but let me tell you scientists in particular should be called doctors,Ghana graduated their first sets of doctors in med lab in the year 2004 we are under the world health organization in the arm of west Africa health organization and in to meet up with international best practice we have to make them doctors because that is what is obtainable world wide as d standard and people who say surgeon is more brain scattering than the others I advice go and trying reading med lab and let's compare and remember surgeon don't account for GPA in most but scientists still do,now in the training of med lab they also throw out.My dear trying reading both and compare let's see your response What is it with you people self? Is it only when you answer doctor that you would get relevance in your chosen profession? Be the medical scientist that you went to school with, and stop abrogating another title. If you want to become a medical doctor, study for it. If you want to become the other doctor, do PhD. Just like a carpenter saying he is an engineer or an economist saying he is an accountant. Both are different job description, biko |

Queenext: It's either glaucoma, or cataract.
It can't be managed if you follow the doctor's prescription.
If worse,it can be operated upon. Sorry, both your diagnosis are wrong. Cataract is an opacification of the lens, not of the cornea. You actually would see the clouding through the pupil in the centre of the eye. Glaucoma would not cause a focal clouding of the cornea. He most likely has a corneal ulceration |

I had a particular case like this. Mother gave birth , two days she took the child to her father's burial. two days later, the child came down with a toxic kind of chicken pox, from head to toe, he was covered with it. It even affected his Pee-pee and caused the skin to slough off. We were praying that the Peepee does not fall off, thank God that the Glans has a different blood supply from the shaft. Took him a long while to recover. I was glad the day the were discharged |

Trust me, even if that boy was playing in Amaku, he would still have died. He likely died from a Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. I doubt if Amaku has a defribillator. It won't be the fault of doctors, but rather lack of equipment. I saw a defibrillator in a security post in obodo oyibo, something that less than 2% of all hospitals in Nigeria have. Over my dead body to fly Dana again. They made me miss my international flight, no form of compensation, not even a hotel to spend the night when it was clearly there fault. Booked a flight for 7:15am from Abuja to Lagos when my into flight was by 11am. Getting to the airport, the 7:15am flight had been changed to 8:45am. When it was 8:45 am, we were still delayed again till we were about to taxi. As we were about to taxi, the plane stopped and what we heard that Osibanjo was in the airport. The airport was grounded for some time before we left. Arriving at Murtala Mohammed, I saw my Emirate flight in the air Had to pay 3xtra 75k to schedule it for the next day. This was last September, 13th |

In my country a 10-month old pregnancy is not guaranteed talk of 6-months old. Thank God they live in a country with a working health care system. Grow up baby. God is your strength. Talk more of ignorance. I have seen children as little as your palm survive in Nigeria. I have seen children of 25-26 weeks pull through. It happens regularly for children of 28 weeks and more. Health › Re: Help! My Skin Is Becoming An Eyesore by ElPhoche(m): 2:01pm On Jun 05, 2018 |
Adalassy: Coincidentally there is a 3 year old child we are almost done with his treatment on the same issue.
His condition began about 2 months after he was born and it was caused by an infection he received at birth from his mother. It was "herpes simplex".
Herpes is a viral infection and mostly unknown to many as it can be mistaken for a bacterial or fungal infection due to its symptoms so when treatment is carried out using methods or medication meant for bacteria or fungal infections you would hardly ever get any releaf.
The downside is that herpes has no known medical cure with conventional medicine but with alternative medicine (which is what we use here) it is perfectly curable as is the case with the 3 year old child we are almost done treating.
His own was all over his back, buttocks and part of his thighs. Sometimes the virus would become dormant in the body and at those times you would have no outbreaks but once it becomes active it would always manifest itself in the same places it first appeared such as your back in this case.
I believe some of your symptoms might include slight fever, itching, some pains when your back is exposed to sunlight, the pimples contain some watery substance in them which comes out when scratched, contact with hot or cold water can be a bit painful on your back, a probable loss of appetite.
If you wish to have it treated by us, do let me know.
Hope I was helpful.
cc ryd3 Believe at your peril. This is a half-truth. And all half-truth are lies. Viruses like Herpes simplex type 1 and type 2, chicken pox virus (VZV) are viruses that undergo latent phase. This means that they would usually hide in the nerves after the first time they manifest as disease. There, they are controlled and kept in check by your immune system, unless it drops for whatever reason and they then manifest. The common 'cold sore' on the mouth us from a resurgence of Herpes simplex 1. Sexually active people here could have come in contact with HS2. The popular 'agba belt' as Igbos tend to call it is as a result of resurgence of the chicken pox virus, which is now manifesting in a 'belt like' fashion. OP, I don't know whether you think nairaland people are doctors. Ignorance x Ignorance can never yield anything good. See a dermatologist... |
