Eriokanmi: Stop thinking upside down..so, if they buy at a higher cost later, they'd also sell at a low cost? They're selling the old stock at the current rate at the moment. Many of them have tank farms which cant be exhausted in one month. Tinubu isn't as intelligent as most of you guys think. He should have said there would be removal of subsidy but they'd have to sit down and discuss with the marketers. Then he'd tell the stakeholders to allow them exhaust old stock and create artifical scarcity for a few days, then he'd have spent like a month in power. Suddenly, he'd just announce the new rate. Then the marketers would have been a serial laser. He's only impoverishing the poor with that stupid speech be made. Who's now groaning...the marketers who are cashing out big time or you wey vote tinubu wey dey buy fuel for 500 naira a liter? While I don't support the subsidy removal I'm the first place, how is it better to create more pain with scarcity and suddenly hike prices? Is it not same result but with even more pain in just a month's time? |

Angelfrost: This is emotional and baseless...! Address the matter on ground please.
Is Tinubu right or wrong?! The thing about Africans is we can be quite insensitive. Subsidy removal isn't affecting many of us that harshly but there are people surviving on so little and on the edge already, what happens when prices of commodities and all gets tripled overnight? Why not remove maybe 50% of the subsidy for now while working towards stable power supply and increment in wages and general economic condition? There are people earning 30k in this country already living hand to mouth, how do they even transport themselves to work or eat when the unavoidable increase in cost of living hits? Subsidy removal is absolutely necessary but the timing might be premature. |

What I don't understand is all the explanation we do instead of outright firing like serious clubs. We always give too much time trying to build nonsense. Bayern fired their coach who was even doing well, Madrid will fire Anceloti if he doesn't win the Champions league, yet we still give more time to ETH who brought in tons of players and can't even create chances and plays Haram football. Only teams with smaller budgets persist with mediocrity cos they know they've been punching above their weight in the first place.
Fire and fire and fire till you get it right. So much for stability, yet the firing teams have all won the Champions league in the past decade while we can barely Make qualification every season. |

Politics › Re: Georgina Onuoha Reacts To Sentencing Of The Ekweremadus And Their Doctor by Elxandre(m): 12:00pm On May 06, 2023 |
othermen: Take advantage of the boy?? The boy took advantage of a sane environment. But I think it’s just terrible to cheer the family’s misfortune. The family could have erred, and their inactions or refusal to use their influence in the past, may have cost lives, that they should deserve our utter contempt- but we shouldn’t mock them nonetheless.
Of coz, they are likely to understate the consequences when discussing with him, but let us assume they didn’t and instead, they explained to the boy very well, what the long-term effects could be.
Of coz, there shouldn’t have been any monetary incentive, but I think many would be willing to support such a request, with cash or other supporting incentives. (A crime ??)
Let us assume, the family that needs a donor thought so too. For the donor, could the monetary or other incentive be more propelling or compelling at the onset? Let us assume it was.
His kidney was going to be yanked, he wouldn’t give that without a promise for exchange of another reward. Let us assume the boy was naïve, and he was underpriced.
If he wasn’t underpriced, and the supposed donor wasn’t short on intelligence. Could the donor experience decisional regret? Of coz he could. In fact, recent studies on decisional regret among donors, indicate that younger age and lower education are predictors of regret. So regret was an item and when it was time for the procedure, it became more stark. So stark, that the ‘affective’ theatrics couldn’t help; of coz, he knew that it was only because of the transplant, that anyone cared. Such reflection on the expectation of care can be sufficient to create an utter dissonance and complete turnabout.
After this, the Ekweremadu’s probably couldn’t keep him any longer, the promises of reward or the reward given were withdrawn; he is to return to wherever or whatever condition he was from, with his kidney. They were probably others as well, putting pressure on him, invested in all of it, with a rebuke for the boy.
So, what could he have done? Now, we know he is not likely returning to that condition he came from and he’s still got his kidney. In a year or two, his family would be with him in the UK.
Was Ekweremadu naïve and exploitative? Perhaps. Was he an organ trafficker? Then, he must be foolish as well to have decided to have the transplant in a standard hospital in the UK, and not in Iran or some shady place, where the donor’s consent is not required. He was actually taken advantage of when you consider only 8k pounds was paid to the doctor as consultation fee, who was still going to pay the boy from that meagre sum. Maybe he pays him 4k? (likely less) That's just a rip off for someone who would have to pay attention to his health after the procedure. I still believe if they treated that boy fairly, he wouldn't have snitched. People have to learn when to be generous and not just trying to be over-wise. |

code9: Moved to iphone from Android last month after almost a decade. I had to go for 14 pro max. There are pros and cons
Pros Super fast. No lag at all You can open 1000 apps without any sign of slowing down OLED display. Super clear screen Images and videos are superb. The iOS 16 interface is quite intuitive Apple has a lot of safety and security features I like
Cons Tooooo expensive 14 pro max is heavy. My hand dey pain me sef Too many clicking steps to get things done unlike Android. No back and forth swiping. You have to actively click back button Bluetooth share with non iOS is a hassle No room for gbwhatsapp and torrent app
Overall, I'm starting to get used to the interface. The phone is well built and clearly designed. Well designed and intuitive with all these cons😂 |

greypencils: I never used the word 'excellent' to describe WizKid's music in entirety but his album, Made-In-Lagos is timeless with a good number of songs very close to perfection. If you feel otherwise, its different strokes Bro. Have fun. I definitely wouldn't be baited to the WizKid vs Davido convo. I don't do wizkid vs Davido too. Makes no sense to me. But truth is wizkid has slipped off with his new style. You hardly hear his music in the streets anymore. Like you said different strokes... |
Music/Radio › Re: Young Jonn - Aquafina (Official Music Video) by Elxandre(m): 11:39pm On May 01, 2023 |
greypencils: The song is not good enough. We grew up with Joe, Aerosmith, Kc & jojo, Aaliyah, TLC, Brandy, R.Kelly, Naughty by Nature, real music. We witnessed good Nigerian music from the likes of Sound Sultan, Tuface, M.I, Faze, BankyW, WandeCoal, Waje, a rough about the edges DBanj, PSquare, Jesse Jagz (check out his song sativa),The Old Davido (His newest album is not it), A currently fiery Wizkid, a good Burna Boy, Patoranking (His song, no kissing ft Sarkodie is still one of the best duets out of Africa), a melodious Olamide (Loading, Kana, Lagos Boys & lots more are all classic hotness). Not this. Some are growing up with this as an example of good music. This isn't perfection. Music you can't put on replay isn't perfection. Today's mainstream music, both Nigerian and foreign is without finesse and refinement and it is such a pity today's youths are growing up exactly that way. Young John is a good producer. One of the best. If he is to delve into singing, It is best for him to hone his craft, dig deeper so as to deliver timeless music. This isn't timeless. He can do better. Calling current wizkid music excellent invalidates your post.😂 And btw David's current album is definitely good. Much better than his last two if you ask me. |

MISTAICEY02288: Good! It’s high time those useless people get taught a lesson. The useless Reps have failed to call Multichoice to order with the way they keep milking Nigerians of their hard earned money and that’s because they’ve been bribed to shut their mouths. I even heard most of them have shares with Multichoice and that’s why they don’t care as long as money keeps coming to their Accounts. Normally, a country should have more companies like Multichoice who will provide proper competition to them in the market but the useless people have decided to make Only Multichoice have ultimate Power in Nigeria. That’s why we don’t have other Cable TV companies who will be showing top leagues live matches like DSTV do. Even the TSTV we had hopes on to tackle Multichoice, they’ve been rendered powerless and useless already.
Imagine paying insane amounts for Gotv and DSTV which one wouldn’t even have time to enjoy because of work and the few hours to watch on weekends and after work on weekdays sef, PHCN will still take off Power too. Then after a month, these clowns will suspend the subscription. And I heard this Pay Per View option is available in South Africa their Base and some other African countries ooo. But they don’t wanna provide it here in Nigeria. Bunch of thieves… Pay per view is actually not available anywhere. |
