Oh Nigeria my Nigeria |
Nigerians, Nigerians, Nigerians, how many times did I call you? Why will u leave the weightier matters of power project, job creation, lessening overdependence on oil, refinery building, health sector revamping and invest huge sums on the less weightier matters of REBRANDING? This must be another hip-cracker for the international society? Anyway, Dora should concentrate on information dissipation and stop making herself look like a fool. I am personally not deceived by whatever name such project might be called. |
Hello guys, Please I want to know how much it will cost to buiding a house with red bricks (reinforced with cement) as opposed to building with cement blocks. Recently I saw a duplex built with redbricks and boy did I love it!!! I then met with the construction guy around the site and he says to build such would cost 20 whooping million |
SirJohn:This thread is quite interesting and incisive. I want to commend SirJohn for his facts, figures and level of understanding. May God bless u. KunleOshobs, Jitintitn welldone. I'm sure some people are brooding o'er all these and will soon thank God for letting the scale drop off their eyes. |
There is no need of temples nor of complicated philosophy, Our God-given heart and brain is the temple. Kindness is the philosophy. He that has ears let him hear o! Let church members desists fron taking every word of pastors hook line and sinkers and read the bible for themselves pls. You are responsible for yourself and will give account of yourself by yourself dear hubreality. |
Marriage is good but it's not what completes a woman or a man. It should actually be made up of two complete individuals else there will be wahala. It's left for an individual to choose to marry or not. We all know that marriage doesn't stop you from achieving your dreams but one adv of marriage is that you get (or should get) more output from two inputs than from just one individual input (whether man or woman) i.e synergy. Many benefits of marriage but sure has its own bad times. Your choice then! |
sorry guys, it was announced on the news just this morning as 200naira to the dollar. That's a fall of 30naira to the dollar in just 11days cos I remember changing some dollars at 170 to the dollar then. This is not looking positive for the naira at all. |
Another step taken in da right direction for fashola. Power project if implemented and can managed efficiently, I tell you Lagos will become one of the best cities of the world. I have to consider moving to Lagos very soon, huh. |
The guy has seen the outcome of his shortsightedness. Here's a lesson for all the guys in da house, a virtuous woman is not only about boobs, sex, beauty and J'lo kinda bum. Character is the word. A good character is better than beauty (saying mine). It's very difficult to make a woman who lacks xter into one of strong xter that can keep a home moreso bear and nurture children. The ultimate decision is still his to take though (divorce or stayput). All da best to your buddy. |
This thread has affirmed some of my hearts questions and delibrations. It's good to know people are thinking like me. Thank u all. My little contribution will be that every man give as he purposes in his heart as admonished by the bible (but then sometimes you are coaxed into giving more (not less) by the way the preacher will say it in church or some religious gathering. More emphasis should be laid on people having personal time with God than coming to church to give tithes and offerings. Pastors have turned to mini gods for some and the fear of the pastor's words is the beginning of wisdom for such peeps. I pray God will open the eyes of our understanding. There is no need of temples, neither need of complicated religious philosophy. My brain and my heart are my temples; my philosophy is kindness , Dalai Lama |
Some agent in Lagos is offering to get the visa for me at $250. Is there someplace I could get it for cheaper? |
Tales by moonlight stories indeed. ![]() |
When compared with the recent rise in unemployment in the UK, Nigeria could be said to be faring better (in quote). This is because although you might not easily lay hands on office jobs, a lot of individuals have started doing business on their own. Things are not as bad as they seem here. I would advise anyone who intends to 'ja' to weigh options very well. Except for 'cross posting' situations and study, the kind of life you'd get will not be fantastic. watch out though, Naija is 'sprouting' and soon we'll be talking on another economic level. |
his fav: ogbono soup and gari. ![]() |
thank u 'landis'. @henry4uall What do technocrats in nigeria civil service do? Sit in da office and gist becos ''na govt work''. And tell me how the minister is supposed to know whether a report submitted by a so-called ''technocrat'' is accurate or just something to fill the books? Ministers should be well-informed and experienced in the position they are to fill. If the govt of nigeria is not mocking us, we should even be discussing this. |
My mother once told me '' A GOOD NAME IS BETTER THAN RICHES". Gani is an example of a man who cherish a good name. Much respect to you sir! |
seun001: ![]() In the midst of it, if we can still make a joke or two, we r on da gud path |
These things only happen in NAIJA. At our level, should we not try to use the skills of people who are experts in their various field? It's just like appointing a lawyer into as Minister of Agriculture. The indivdual does not have the 'know how' to perform at the level that is required/expected of him/her. In the Oil and Gas biz, u can't make someone who doesn't have experience in process operation to head or supervise a process plant, it will spell disaster. We can't think (at least for our decision maker in Nigeria) that's what that means. It's a PITY. But thank God for "US" u and me and the upcoming young leaders who will eventually take over from this old, laid-back and retired leaders that are still being recycled like waste |

Did you guys follow some of the chess plays at the chess olympiad dresden 2008? |
This is a wake up call to all nigerians! Wake up, wake up to your civic responsibilities (we are responsible to ourselves, family members, friends and neighbours)! Let's speak against injustice in whateva form it rears its ugly head, let's fight this war against indiscipline and corruption. This incidence has sure shown that we are on the path to having the democratic society that we desire and have hoped for. Remember that the stone that you throw in the market might land on your relative's ''head''. - literal translation from yoruba proverb I love y'all! "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world." Margaret Mead |
http://www.nigeriancuriosity.com/2008/11/window-into-injustice-uzoma-okere.html The guy can't escape this one. Nemesis has caught up wiv him. Military/uniformed men beware!!! |
God bless Fashola!!!!!!!!!!!! That a right step in the right direction. We need more of this gesture from every state governors, ministers, commissioners, and men-in-uniform (the villians). Let us wake up to our responsibility Nigeria!! |
@ nypha sorry my dear. I feel so ashamed to say i am in my ''fatherland'' and hear this things happen. It's a shame really. I could only describe that behaviour as ''beastly'' as i watched the video with a very deep ache in my heart. Whatever happened to conscience?? Do I have to perform my job in such a manner before I be considered by my ''boss'' as effective. The employee should also be able to correct their employer if he's in wrong, y'know (some of these big men/officers do not know what's right anymore. They are sooo afraid of losing their jobs, they would beat up an innocent lady to impress their bosses. Ah, oma se o!!!!! It's high time we say no to these kinds of stampeding on our 'rights' as humans. Human rights activists, here's your chance to help correct an ill ! |
@biolabee thanks guy, we are still working on things, hopefully, things are looking positive sha. @topic i actually have a friend, the guy told her he wanted to build his parents house before they can get married.
