How else do we show to the world our trademark logo i.e. 'darkness'? ![]() |
Check out the profile of this judge, Justice Joseph Olubunmi Oyewole who jailed Bode George. Very impressive. Kinda rekindles my dying hope in Nigeria http://www.vanguardngr.com/2009/10/28/the-judge-who-jailed-george/ |
The guy has used an idiomatic expression for what he felt should be those culprits' punishment. We need to deal with indiscipline and corruption with a reasonable punishment hence some folks won't desist. |
rasputinn:Good one there. I bet the poster has picked the useful info becos i haven't seen her comment again. spoilt:Here comes another one with the 'mouth dysentery' ![]() |
Maybe he came on you harshly, but it's sometimes difficult for some men to discuss what bothers them. One of the reasons he's telling you to shed fat is becos he loves you (IMO) or why do you think he dint just dump you outrightly and go for a slimmer gurl. The way to show you love him is to 'try' all in your power to lose those extra kilos. Moreso, this kinda accumulate when women get pregnant and they become 'iya apati' at 38. You wouldn't want that, would you? Join a gym if you can afford it. If not, wake up early morning and jog around your neighbourhood. Also check out some exercises on the internet for general weight loss and try to cut down on your fatty food intake. Lest i forget, don't waste your money trying to buy slimming teas and concoctions. Good luck. |
When has poverty being a passport to illegalities? See, as long we continue to justify wrongdoings, the more we become irredeemably corrupted. A young graduate (expected to know one or two things) falls for the cheap trick of being swayed by drug barons is simply a 'mallo'. Sorry guy, the law is no respecter of persons. You have so long (the sentnece) to learn a simple lesson. |
jodeci:So sorry bro, i'm hooked! Better luck next tyme. Ujujoan:Hmm, you sure don't have the right words to say to save yourself. Being content is being economic in your opinion? Omase o!! ![]() |
kanye West: kanye West:Who is this pot calling the kettle black? |
Any family living above 15000 amonth is IMO above average comprising mostly the young working class. You will be surprised that some families live above 50k a month. And yet you will still find, families living on 5000 and below a month. That's why i said it's a different ballgame which depends on the level of education, job type, number of persons in the home, location and status. One error women make is to discuss wiv their friends how much their husbands give them for housekeeping. That has caused (and is still causing) a lot of problems for homes when wives will return home to demand for a 'raise' siting the other family as example to the husband. The key word ought to be contentment (cutting one's coat according to ones' cloth) Shikena! |
Well, so much has been said in the form of advise. I will like to add here that money issues is a very sensitive issue and depends on what obtains in your home. One thing you shouldn't do however is compare your home to another's (mayb your friend or neighbour). If you list the items you purchase on a monthly basis (like someone rightly suggested) and show in just for him to see that the money is not what he thinks it is especially since they (i mean men) do not know the cost of stuffs l ike that (and do not bother to except when the wife is overzealous and wants to be unreasonable). I understand it's not as though you don't want to contribute to the home but when your husband takes it for granted, that sometimes hurt. Tell him exactly how much you spend in all (15000 plus the extra u put in) and lt him know you are willing to support since you also earn some. It will make him appreciate you the more and I'm sure he'll say it. @Ujujoan I bet u r not married. Your comments are rude. |
Nice site wiv a lot of flash 'efizis'. But too many clicks spoil the job (anyway i've always have an idea that the flashier the site, the slower it gotta get, kinda like u sac this to get that). |
God, this is I'll keep checking this thread to see what I can do to support as well. |
Two sites wiv different functions. Nairaland offers varied topics which gets you thinking fast. Facebook however helps connect you with people you know and who know you although it's being hijacked by traders of all sorts now. I love 'em both but sometimes the bickering on NL pisses me off |
Kobojunkie:Would like to know too. Is this match in collaboration with Daystar's Let there be Light? |
Fhemmmy:Goes with the saying 'Hell has no fury like a woman scorned'. |
POSAKOSA1:Haba, spare the lady! She's only trying to make you understand issues that you would not normally try to or bother about sef. I really do appreciate her job. What greater love than someone to give of their time and energy to a young child who has no hope for the future (and doesn't even know it). @ Aisha I bet the reason why Posakosa made that comment is that you have completely ignored the main content of this post. Really. |
Aisha, I must commend your efforts and involvements in the care of Orphans and vulnerable children. I think however that that is a different ballgame from what this post has suggested. As much as we would like to draw sympathy from Nigerians to the issue of orphans/abandoned children and their plights, we ought also to be able to uphold truth, good judgements, ethics and morals in our society. I wouldn't claim much knowledge of orphanges operations and related statistics but I do know that most Nigerians would prefer to remain without a child than adopt. Wealthier ones who have fertility problems would rather spend fortunes on IVF. Back to the issue of the post, ther's no commendation in the girls' acts at all. Let's agree on that first. |
@jaygirl what's your take on the topic? You seem to have no idea hence your comment |
I agree dat black man's greed is excessive what with politicians stealing money that could last 3 generations. Chei, it's bad. White men have lesser greed tendency becos their society has been built to support everyone equally and they do not rever wealth. |
Nigerians do no have much of a choice sef, what is the percentage of jobs available to the graduates or qualified persons? ![]() |
@Aisha Really touching story there. But I think the situation is different from the one the poster laid out. This girl you talk about had a bf and they must have had an unplanned case of pregnancy. This is quite different. The ladies in the post are willing to get screwed and carry pregnancy for their clients. Anyone who is willing to do a menial task for money have got morals but like I pointed out, some of these ladies just want to be able to paint their nails, wear nice clothes and even ride big cars without doing any serious work except get a man to sleep with on a daily basis. |
Nigeria is bad as it is. Some issues like this just makes it totally bad. Pray tell, are there no other jobs these ladies can do? For anyone to accept to be slept with for money, such a one must have the prostituting tendency if not already one. This goes further to allow conception and bearing a child. Most of these ladies want to live above their means and so will never be able to venture into 'little' businesses such as recharge card sales, fruits sales, okrika and foodstuff or even neswpaper sale. I can never start to compare myself with people who work in a bank if I'm not literate. I should content myself in the little that accrues to me from my 'lil' biz. But no, this is not the case as a primary sch cert holder wants to rub shoulder with a BSc or masters holder. Such a lady will do what ever to be able to accomplish this. While pregnant, she will still be 'servicing' the men. I think it's an innovative creation of some prostitute, Arghhh. |
I tried doing a little business of my own while still working in a company. I employed some people to do the job. I had to close it from frustration because my employees never quite get what the biz was about (or they never cared enuff) Most of them have the mindset of the yoruba saying 'oga ta, oga o ta, owo alaru a pe meaning whether the biz sells or not, the employee's wage must b complete. I decided to quit it for a while and think of the next line of action. I know for sure if I was not employed I could easily run the biz and manage it better. So, the decision to run a biz o get employed depends on the individual, the responsibilities the person currently have and those will determine to a large extent which one you eventually settle for. Most other times, people try to raise money for their business by the paid job because some businesses require some reasonable amount of capital. There are advantages and disadvantages to either of them but i think the advs of self employment are more. |
I am now partly Ghana by choice. Congrats to us then. It was s gr8 match. Even with one man down? Abeg God dey Ghana side. He actually left Nigeria for Ghana (seems like that with everything seemingly working for them). |
@poster What kind of question is this? are you trying to challenge our sense of reasoning for nothing? What has Yaradua done to make him fit for being reelected? Abeg if you don't know a right candidate to vote for, I'm sure Pat Utomi is going to be contesting, he'll be a better choice, ok? I hope u stay in Nigeria? |
OMG, what is this? I hope children were not brought to that show o. They will not be able to sleep at nite. Even some adults. Crazy, really crazy |
I don't think a two party system is good for Nigeria while at the same time the llarge number of political parties we currently have is not suitable either. There should be a reasonable number of say 5-10 max. That way groups eith similar ideals can come together into one. two will just be too limiting. |
Lagos cos it rocks with the latest news, items, events, in short LAG is the pacesetter for all the other cities. Plus, nice beaches and places to hang out. Not to forget the abundant job opportunities. |
ekitikan:You must be a silent killer ekitikan. Just imagine your strategy. How on earth do you think a woman will live in denial like you. Be in the same house pretending that nothing is up? This is one of the reasons I would leave esp if the someone is you, emotional abuser. |
May the souls of all those who lost their lives in this accident rest in peace. With that said, the issue brings to bear again on what we need to do as a people soon enuff cos if nothing changes, even worse incidences will occur again and again. The crop of leaders we currently have are no good, so no matter what happens (accidents for example) or what we say, they are stuck in their ways. Guys, it's high time o. Gear yourselves up for 2011. Register to vote, choose the right candidate to vote for, record proceedings as as safely as possible, play your part. I wish the families of these Nigerians God's comfort. |
