After talking for about 2 minutes during the part 2 of the speaking test, the examiner dozed off apparently, or rather obviously due to exhaustion.
I had observed him/her do this intermittently, however, I couldn't do anything so as not to be captured on the recorder.... Mehn, after the 2 minutes, I gently tapped on the table to wake him/her and we continued from there. I wanted to use my legs but we are far apart.
Don't tell me s/he doesn't grade it, otherwise what do they scribble on the piece of paper they have with 4 columns which seem to tally with the 4 band descriptors??
Have been thinking about it... |

nanny2017: Hello House. I appreciate your good works on this forum.
Please I have a quick question. I intend using my NYSC work experience (Secondary school Mathematics teacher) to get points for my work experience. It is stated on the cic NOC website that one of the employment requirements is Bachelors in Education. My question is, can I still get points for this even though I have Bachelor of "Science" in Mathematics not in Education
Thanks. I hope you're not mixing up this with Australian requirements... Please can you share the link where you read this from on CIC website... @the bolded. |

Photocopy of your transcript sent by you? I understand you have a copy of your transcript already, but you can't use it for WES evaluation. It must be sent directly by your institution. By the way, try reading up page 0 and use the search button to query the thread before resorting to folks for clarification. I even doubt you have visited WES website at all. |

But in some cases, as was with mine, it didn't get to 9 weeks. It was just 30 days from the day the second mail came. You might even get it before the 9 weeks elapses. Saintp: Is IQAS 9 weeks processing time from the day the receive all your documents or from the time you receive a mail from them stating they have received it? It starts from the day their second email comes confirming receipt of your transcript (assuming you have earlier faxed your application, certificate, passport and got acknowledgement receipt for that). |

Aig84: I personally won't encourage the bolded, I think answering in upper case is best. In the case of Nouns as answers, I'm not sure it would be wise to start the spelling with lower case. My opinion though. Irrespective of whether the answer is a noun or not, once you adopt the lower case style, you need to maintain it all through. The answer will be correct so long as the spelling is right. You may confirm from British Council's website https://takeielts.britishcouncil.org/prepare-your-test/test-day-advice/listening-test-adviceIn summary, it's only advisable to go with the option of upper case letters for legibility for both listening and reading sections in case your handwriting might put the examiner in a situation of doubt. |

chizilulu: To be honest, I was shocked at my Listening score. I expected something better. I think I mixed up the answers in the maps section (in section 3 i suppose). So i am practising maps and diagrams and other little common mistakes like pluralising words and writing in capitals where necessary. I also go back to check the ones i did not get right after each practice and learn why. Its better to make all the mistakes now. The bolded should not pose a problem at all. Simply give ALL your answers in either UPPER CASE or lower case to avoid losing mark for capitalization. |

tosinkay: Good morning house, nice work here guys and GOD will take us all to the dream land. Please is there anyone in the house that can help me with Transcript from University of Nigeria Nnsuka? I just want to know the procedure and i will like to get it by hand so that i can mail it with other documents to WES.
Thanks You don't need to get your transcript yourself because you will risk rejection of the transcript by WES. Apply online at https://alumni.unn.edu.ng/itranscript Let the school send it directly to WES and ensure you attach the transcript request form with your WES reference number clearly written on it. Search for WES fax number and send any other document via one of the numerous free online faxing websites. The cost of sending UNN transcript outside Nigeria is 35k and since you're using WES, you will pay additional 10k for verification. |

A thunderous congratulations to all those with PPR... I feel so happy as though I was the one that got it... More happy because it's not by "connection" as we are used to here... But by merit and God's grace not minding your background nor family name. Meanwhile, I've got here a very cost effective way of "porting" for those of you that intend to land this year... Just choose the one you feel is faster and cheaper... Lol.. Offer valid while stock lasts...

Madcow: Practice with www.mini-ielts.com
If you had challenges during the listening or you are not confident, complete a complaint form immediately after the test... check the results on Friday morning... if you aren't happy, you can play your complaint as a joker... redo just the listening in 7 days... Please can you explain what you mean exactly by this? If one can fill a complaint form and get to redo the listening section, why haven't many taken advantage of that? Don't forget that a lot of people will know if their performance in the listening was good for them or hopeless immediately after the test... And a lot of sound check is conducted before the actual audio is played, so what challenge exactly will the person claim? Shed more light on this, mbok. |

Ontario was generous few months back... Folks in the range of 380 (I think in IT related occupations) got invited. Your CRS with 8 in listening looks good, why think the long and expensive route of PNP when you have potentials of getting ITA directly?
The only implication I can think of is the one year validity period of your profile which starts counting as soon as you create the profile, that of course is inconsequential as you'd get your desired score and subsequently receive ITA in no time. This listening section don do me something twice. Preparing to retaliate like one writing final year exam. |

At current CRS of 385 (LRSW-6.5,8,7,7.5), an 8 in listening would have landed me at 435 , does it make any sense to create a profile now while preparing to rewrite IELTS? Has anyone in that score range ever gotten provincial nomination? ##JustThinking... What if CIC decides to do Christmas for peeps and am nowhere to be found in the pool.. What are the implications of entering the pool with this score? |
