I've seen different comments here which actually don't reflect on the topic of Baptism.

A good Bible student will know they're many Baptism scripture talks about. So, if this can be established, then answer to your question will just be one way straight.

Firstly, there is Baptism of Repentance: This is what John the Baptist preached and this was acknowledged by Jesus Christ and the apostles. The right question to ask here will be, was this mandatory for Christians?

Well, the answer is, the scripture didn't outrightly say Yes! Though the Disciples of Jesus Christ Baptized people in the presence of Jesus and Jesus didn't forbid them and some might say Matt 28:19 is where Jesus says people should be Baptized. This will be addressed as we go forward. Moreover, the scripture has examples of people who are still stuck in the Baptism of Repentance but the disciples still need to put them in the right way of God perfectly. Luke 18:25-26

Secondly, Baptism of Holy Spirit/fire: Jesus is the one who will perform this on His people.

Thirdly, Baptism of Suffering/Death: This particular one was first experienced by Christ Himself and Jesus says some will also passed through it Luke 12:50 and apostle Paul elaborates on this as we're buried with Christ in Baptism.

Fourthly, Baptism of Seal to the body of Christ: This particular one is what Jesus instructed people should do in Matt 28:19 "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit."

Notice that this particular one, the person has already BELIEVED AND ACCEPTED CHRIST before this is done.

Lastly, with the foregoing, the question Does Baptism require for salvation? can be rightly answered as capital NO but Baptism is EMBEDDED in salvation.
