Politics › Atiku/obi Group Must Articulate Now, Or... by eodavids(op): 11:52am On Jan 02, 2019 |
The Nigerian presidential election is barely 45 day away, but the Atiku Abubakar camp, of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenging the incumbent, Muhammadu Buhari (APC), has not shown convincing readiness to take over the top job from the later.
By now, the Atiku campaign group should have layed solid and convincing foundations before all Nigerians as per how and why they are better than the present leadership of the country.
We at the grassroots wants a better Nigeria through better leadership, but the Atiku camp has not given Nigerians enough reasons to chose them over the Buhari-APC.
(My candid advice).
Nairalanders, Let's advice Atiku/Obi now. |

Politics › Re: Okorocha Claims North, S’ West Moving Against His 2023 Presidential Ambition by eodavids(m): 1:21pm On Jan 01, 2019 |
adebuk47: Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, on Monday alleged that some unnamed persons from the South West and North were ganging up against his 2023 presidential ambition.
Okorocha spoke to journalists at his Ogboko country home in the Ideato North Local Government Area of the state.
He said despite the orchestrated plot against his political career, he would contest for Presidency in 2023.
The governor alleged that his current political predicaments in the ruling All Progressives Congress started two years ago in Lagos State.
According to him, an unnamed politician summoned his political subordinates including his deputy, Eze Madumere, to Lagos and plotted the chart to stop his political ambition by all means.
The governor said, “What I am suffering now in APC started two years ago in Lagos. They called my subordinates including my deputy and asked them to team up to fight me.
“Hope Uzodinma joined them lately. They decided to use him because they saw him as a strong person, being a sitting senator.
“The whole thing is about my 2023 presidential ambition. They want to shut out any Igbo man who is strong politically from the 2023 presidential race. But despite the gang up, I must contest for President in 2023.”
Okorocha also alleged that there was an ongoing conspiracy to stop him from going to the Senate in 2019.
Saying that he was too big to represent just a senatorial district after being a governor for eight years , the governor said his mission to the Senate was to go and make a positive difference.
“There is a conspiracy to stop me from going to the Senate. Hope Uzodinma has joined Senator Osita Izunaso. There is an alliance with Jones Onyereri. They will use security agencies to stop me. I am going to the Senate to make a positive difference,” he said.
Okorocha said he was fighting what he called neo-colonialism in Imo politics.
Maintaining that political forces from the West and North were working to hijack the state’s politics, the governor said, “If care is not taken, a time will come in Imo State that before a sitting governor appoints a commissioner, he will first get an approval from either the West or the North.
“Most of the Igbo elite have compromised but I am the only person who has not compromised and will not compromise.” source:https://thebiggestgists..com/2018/12/okorocha-claims-north-s-west-moving.html The wailers' form may not be available for Rochas now... |

dainformant: While most Nigerians are blaming the government for the problems in the country, a man has decided to expose the theft/scam being carried out by some traders in order to make quick money.
In a trending video posted online (watch below), some women were caught removing about eight Derica cups from each bag of rice after which they will use a new bag to repackage it and make it look 50kg bag of rice.
This is what they do to make extra cash as the bags of rice are later sold to unsuspecting customers who have no idea how they've been scammed.
Nigerians while reacting to the video, urged the government and appropriate authorities to look into the issue carried out by the corrupt traders.

I do not encourage any Igbo person to run for election this time. However, this threat from "IDA" is just null and void and of non effect.
IDA has no such powers that will restrict people's movement. Even the Federal Government of Nigeria cannot just restrict the Ndigbo from enjoying their constitutional right to freedom of movement (except in an emergency situation). |

edunwablog: The Sokoto State House of Assembly on Thursday confirmed the appointment of Alhaji Manir Dan-Iya as the new Deputy Governor of the state.
This followed the adoption of a motion by the Deputy Majority Leader Alhaji Ibrahim Sarki (PDP-Sokoto North II) at plenary.
Speaking on the motion Sarki urged his colleagues to confirm the appointment of Dan-Iya due to his qualities.
“In view of the provisions of section 191 subsections (3)(c) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended.
“Gov. Aminu Tambuwal submitted the name of Alhaji Manir Dan-Iya for confirmation as deputy governor of the state.
“The person so recommended for appointment is an astute politician with an impressive grassroots appeal, he will bring his experience to bear in the governance and overall development of the state,” he said.
The motion was unanimously adopted when put to a voice vote by the Speaker Alhaji Salihu Maidaji who presided over the plenary.
Dan’iya replaces Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu, who resigned on Nov. 13 after security the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship ticket for the 2019 poll in the state.

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has said Boko Haram was formed by youths abandoned by politicians.
The PDP presidential candidate stated this in a chat with The Africa Report while speaking on how he’ll counter the sect.
“I happen to know how Boko Haram came into being. They were offshoots of political thuggery. Politicians used those boys in Boko Haram to win elections and then abandoned them and then there were no jobs for them.
“It was the same thing with the Niger Delta. In 1998, I saw it myself and I warned people.
“It’s going to be a multifaceted approach. It will involve negotiations. It will involve military action”, he said.
On the incessant herders/farmers clashes and cattle-rustling, Atiku declared that grazing reserves was the solution.
“In each province in the north, we used to have a grazing reserve. During the season, the cattle are in the reserves.
“When it is off-season when farmers would have cultivated all their crops, then the cattle move out to the areas where the farmers have cultivated, allowing the grass in the grazing reserves to grow. These grazing reserves have been abandoned over the years.
On the fate of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu and former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, Atiku noted that the rule of law must be respected.
His words: “I don’t want to be individualistic on this issue. I reject any illegal detention, any detention that is not based on rule law and order.
“Dasuki is being detained illegally. It is only a court that will say whether he is guilty or not.”
On calls for secession by some South-East, Atiku hinted on “a conference to discuss reconstruction”
“I don’t think there is any part of this country that wants to leave this country. All they want is fairness, equity and justice”, he added.
