What are these other sources of income, if u say one should not rely on govt?
This is why I say most Nigerians are olodos. Asking questions that has already been answered. What does it take you to be patient to read more, be thorough before asking questions? Later they will say they fail. Keep depending on govt na. Even if it is hard to get other sources, must you keep depending on an unreliable govt? The Nigerian govt has shown to be a useless one.. must you keep depending on the same entity that has failed you many times?

See...keep waiting for govt. Poverty will dance azonto on your head. grin

I now know how you operate. You hide your weakness to have a clean discuss by resorting to insults. Show me where you can carry out research with 10k. Even the IAR based works on Soya and groundnut that yielded the Samnut and samsoy varieties we use widely in nigeria spanned decades. Don't say what you don't knw. Shebi u write as u claim. Post the links to your paper and I Will post mine. Speaking of grants, I have never secured a Nigerian govt grant but I have worked on 2 papers developed from grants gotten from non government agencies based abroad. Your take on cost of grants is laughable. Solid journals cost an arm.and a leg. Your a housing agent. Stick to what you knw. It's not my fault u had a traumatic university experience. Don't tag lecturers as dull. Imagine house agent calling kettle black. You guys are no saints either. Go read on works done at research institutes from napri to nvri. Vaccines on trypanosomiasis developed in collaboration with researchers at nvri wasn't developed by housing agents collecting agency fee for housing with outdoor kitchen.
You are a slave to government and they will keep playing with your blokos. You know your papers are worthless and cannot compete with good ones out there, so keep blackmailing govt to pay you.

I have given you 5 areas you can work on that can make you attract investors....keep on doing vaccines that have been done. Lol. Poverty has found a home in you.

For your information, I'm not in lecturing but a liver of education. I'm an entrep Nvreneur.
You have little understanding about how things work in this country.
I don't want to know how inefficiency works. So, you are right. I don't know, and I don't want to know. I don't want to know how you feel okay blackmailing the government for doing rubbish.

RECs position given to the Academic personnel's I don't think is constitutional and can be changed by same political office holders if they can't get what they want.
When you have an opportunity, grab it. This is what I learned from efficient people. You still have the opportunity in 2027, instead of you to find a way to use that power, you are already saying rubbish. Lol.

So you will realize that to change this nation would require all hands to be on deck or a civil response. Understand the Nigerian factor before coming publicly to speak.
The day someone like you changes is the day Nigeria has hope. Very simple. If you can still come up with a useless excuse after what we have exchanged, and still find a reason your colleagues should not do what is right, why should politicians change? You change first.

My point is simple, let the educational sector take it's rightful place along with health and security, then we will begin to see things fall in place with rule of law.
The lies you keep telling to collect more money from the government. Agric is no more there. grin Which health are you talking about without agric?

Don't just speak because people are talking, understand the peculiarities involved before speaking. Thank you
So, with the calculations and examples I give, you still think I follow what people say. Lol. You are the one making strong claims without any support na.

Oga, govt won't reward you for your useless work. Deal with it. Ha! Gone are the days when you could easily blackmail the government. Go and hustle. I have provided you with areas you can work on...please, if you don't have any questions regarding these areas, free me. You are free to continue blackmailing the government. But I can assure you that poverty has found a home inside you. Shikena!

If your next post is not about questions concerning the areas I have listed, I will stop here.

Contrary to what you claim to knw, Nigerian lecturers and researchers do produce groundbreaking research that have received global acclaim.
Another "strong claim" with no reference. grin

If it's in the field of Agriculture and biotechnology I can tell you we got you covered.
Clown grin You are not talking to a dummy in govt. angry

The sad thing is publishing in highly rated journals is only possible through grants and high level abeg.
The only sad thing is that you are messed up. Putting on strong claims. Clown. grin

Elseiver journals are expensive to publish without grant money.
You are a real clown. Walahi grin

Where will a lecturer doing an independent research get $2000 to publish?
Blackmail govt na since that source is the only means to publish. Poverty has found a home in you.

At best we collaborate with other universities abroad.
Which ones have you collaborated with?

Not all lecturers are dull. Same with lecturers abroad, not all smart and attract grants
I always write mostly...but I am sure you are dull. Keep looking for $2,000 around. grin

Since not all smart attract grants, keep the blackmailing government. You write something, and it doesn't attract a grant...what does that say? If someone in the private sector writes a proposal and is not accepted, does the person blackmail the government?

Get it into your head..govt will no longer pay for your incompetencies. Go and do your worst. Go and compete with your fellow researchers. You write what you think is smart. Keep wasting your time. I have given you clues... maybe this is what you need to hear but you aren't paying attention to it cos you have your mind in doing what your broke mentors taught you. Oga, I will say it the last time...(it may not be for you but for another lecturer or researcher cos I see you only want to cash out from govt)... research on what is trending and what investors want. Stop writing about what you think is smart. If you write what investors want, you will cash out big time.

Here are the areas/topics:
1. Gene editing ....you can go into many areas not even the technical part. Agric, health, wildlife, livestock, etc I have witnessed a chemical engineering professor get a huge grant in this area. How did a chemical engineering professor link his work to this area? Go use your head. Stop writing what investors don't need.
2. Environmental Sustainability... agriculture, health, business, economics, ecology, and many other areas.
3. Renewable energy....part of 2 above...but very wide. Of course not only the technical areas you can work on.
4. Seeds production if you are in agric. You don't need any grant or rubbish whatever to do this. With just N10,000 you can get to work. All you need is time. And you can use modern tech to accelerate it. Only 5sqm is enough to get the job done. And you don't need to pay any salary to anyone. I know what I am saying. When you get the seeds done....go for seeds that make sense...tomatoes and peppers...can make you rich. Go cultivate 1 ha after your research...beat the 100 tons benchmark...hit 200 tons. This will give you nothing less than 85 million naira. Use the money to start bigger projects. A crate (25kg) of tomato is a minimum of N15k in the market. Calculate the number of crates and you have your sales. Remove your expenses. Shikena. If you are into agriculture, your school has free land.....free many things. You have the platform there. There are many abandoned resources you can use that you won't pay for. I am sure this is the same in other areas too.

An agric researcher can keep a plot of vegetables to manage his expenditures. The same goes for livestock researchers. But nope...they only want grants to loot. Lol. The abandoned equipment is there. Tell your colleagues that they can do something with them without waiting for govt.

I remember the case of expensive parents' cattle stocks imported ....and those lecturers sold all. Lol. Use Google to find the meaning of parent stocks. You will know what I am saying. Your colleagues are looters. I use agric cos this subject readers can relate to. If I start with oil and gas....hehehhe... or health. Mehn! You guys are unserious. Very lazy set of people..

Must you wait for the government? But you want to do "yamayama" job and the government should pay you...right? grin

Keep blackmailing the government. Poverty has found a home inside you. Shikena. grin

Fact is we are the one insinuating bribe was paid because they could get permits without bribe. Since most are claiming that in Nigeria, bribe has to be paid to get the approval, then those owners need be compensated because they got approval.

I don't know why you need everyone to suite your narrative. I would reiterate my point, if they have government approval irrespective of how it is gotten, they should be compensated.

You assume too much. That I insist the right of owners who were permitted need be honored doesn't mean I have a property there. If I do and I have a permit, surely, I would seek compensation as it is my right by law.

As for where I live, that shouldnt be your worry.
And I will repeat it clearly and very simple.... that set back you have built on and that certificate you have...you will collect at the right time. Go fight with your anus over those punished right now.

And I repeat, your stand shows where you live. Where you live is important. You are a real Nigerian with that fraudulent mentality. But I trust that govt. You go collect at the right time
Keep arguing. grin

Enugu govt paid no one any compensation. Go fight over it. A fact that is there.

No matter what you write...you go still collect like those people. grin Argue further with your keyboard....you go still collect. Shikena!

Policy implementation has to do with political office holders and not academicians.
Academicians have the power to show politicians the right way to do it. Are your useless professors, not the RECs during major elections? Is that not implementing a policy? As I wrote earlier, their position is powerful. There are other ways, they can injure bad politicians, but they always choose money. Lol. Policy implementation is the business of everyone. If you don't know this as an academician you claim you are...you are an olodo also. That was the reason I deliberately wrote the two courses.

You guys always want to say you are the best when it is obvious you are olodos. Just imagine the rubbish you are writing here. And you will still return to defend it with another olodo strategy. This is why your papers are worthless.

I guess you still won't understand my point here. From John Cena - You can't see me. Yea...you can't see the point I am making here cos you aren't the best brain like you always claim. How can you? Money is the only thing motivating you all

For a known fact, our budget allocation has never had education has a priority and never has it being well funded.
Oga, tell your "thief thief" academician to not collect bribes again during the 2027 elections. You have the power to stop it. It is part of implementing that policy that was made to save us.

I speak from facts because I love education but not in the field.
No, you don't. If you were a brain, you would have seen where you guys are messing up.

You can't be praising the west when yours is ill managed.
Should I not praise those who trained me not to be like you? Dey play grin Ours will be ok when your "thief thief" colleagues stop collecting bribes.

You have an under educated society and still can figure out that your society has a problem at this stage of your life?
Obviously, you want to prove you are smart by all means, but you are just making a mess of yourself. Go tell your "thief thief" colleagues to stop collecting bribes. You also should stop. If the politicians realise they cannot bribe them, things will get better.
Until the government pay our academicians well and it's armed forces so they don't rely on I'll gotten wealth, we are not ready.
Dey play. The days you blackmail govt are over. Buhari has shown us that you are just goats. Na shout you go shout...nothing you can do....cos you also have nothing to offer. Govt should keep paying for your poor performance. Dey play.

Don't find a way to set yourself apart from these useless ones...keep asking govt for more funds. Go read my past posts. Lol. Govt should be one source of your income...as a brilliant academician, you should have several sources. But cos you are olodos...you always want to blackmail govt.

Let's be reasonable and commend their works.
Every new government sinks the country down and we are crying foul when in some serious nation, there would have civil unrest everywhere.
You are the one who should be reasonable for once in your life. Get it into your brain that you are mostly worthless. If you are useful, govt won't play you around. You are worthless... that's the real truth. I was privileged to be there when Ngige said to your faces that you are worthless. I am repeating it here again...you are worthless. And I support the government, you deserve no increment. You are mostly worthless. Keep deceiving yourself that you are brilliant. The students you always fail are doing well abroad.
This is one of the reasons you are mostly as.sholes. And stop having sex with your daughters. You are mostly worthless.

If you're still in Nigeria, continue to clap for the process killing you and your future children.
Sure...I will continue clapping for this issue. When you are ready to make changes, you will make your colleagues who are appointed RECS in 2027 do what is right and just. Keep deceiving yourselves. You and your colleagues are more guilty of this that you have written.

Your leaders are always REC officers. The way they take bribes is the way they embezzle funds given to them. Lol. Dey play.

Know this and have peace....you are getting nothing good enough. Tinubu will only whine you...lol.....If you want to live a good life, read my past posts. Hustle well. Forget about govt and position yourself well. Go back and study. Study the trend and know what investors want in your area of interest. Do a thorough job. You will never call on govt again.

Oga, no more response cos I see you are bent on blackmailing govt....and govt no send you. I also no send you...and most Nigerians no send you anymore. Know this....and have peace.

To the 1st one in italics, if builders are asked to extend building beyond architectural plans without proper approval, then the owners do not deserve compensation however, government officials should have highlighted/earmarked the building since the violation was noticed.
If you aren't in Nigeria, then, it is worthless to try to explain further...but if you are in Naija...you just want to extend this talk. Cos nothing is normal in Naija.

On the second, if they got it through bribe, they should be compensated as there is an evidence of the approval except there is a document showing they bribed their ways and in such a case, the government can prosecute such officials and property owners.

Before you feel you have shown your prowess is criticism, let me affirm to you that you are ignorant of what innovation is and what lecturers do and are doing . We were given a contract by a foreign firm that is into steel production to review some articles published in Elsevier, Springer, Taylor and Francis, etc. These articles publish ideas and finding on improving the quality of steel, believe me more than 30% of the articles they sent were published by Nigerians academics with Nigerian affiliation. Reseach findings are open or behind pay wall in many hosting sites and publishers'site, the fact that Nigerian government is not using the research doesn't mean there was no output from Nigerian academics. Nigerian universities' laboratories are badly equiped yet they are chunning out valuable research and indexed in recorganised indexing bodies. The Malaysia you are talking about prefer Nigerian students which are mostly academics on TETFund and PTDF scholarship to drive their research output. Presently, Malaysia is among the top 8 countries in the world whose research articles have been retracted according to 'retraction watch'. There are a couple of Nigerian academics that are not doing well but a couple have also written and are still writing their names with gold ink. I don't want to even talk about the number of patents many hold. Unleas you know how such metrics are measured you will definitely write just the way you did.

Furthermore, intelligence and job performance are complex and multifaceted. It's not appropriate to make blanket judgments about people's abilities based on limited information or personal opinions.
What is limited opinion in the examples and scenarios I have given. Why don't you write and cite real-life examples? Tell me about significant research they have done. Tell me...the seeds they have produced. Yes...I can ooo... Listen...I can cos I follow them. Yes, of course, if I show you how the ones working get around it, you will praise them.

The problem with you is that you see lecturing as untouchable...and this is where you are wrong. They are common men ooo. We call them their first names where I studied oooo. So, I know what I am saying.

Different individuals have different strengths and weaknesses, and it's important to consider a wide range of factors when evaluating their performance or potential contributions.
It is not about strengths and weaknesses here. I am talking about the head of the department embezzling research funds, and many other nasty things I don't even want to discuss.

Lecturers are not only meant to teach but also to do research. The task is huge and no resources to do these tasks effectively as there are no reliable electricity, internet services very poor etc. shouting they don't produce quality seed is not main task for those lecturer in crop farming
The task is not huge. Research is not hard work...it is fun for those who do it. So, let us not make it something so huge. People into research go there for the love of it....not for the pay. Not saying they shouldn't be rewarded.

I gave an example in agric...as regards seeds...that is the most common stuff I can use. Do you want me to go into health? Do you want me to go into oil and gas? Cos if I start, you will get angry oooo.

So....whose job is to produce seeds? Oh...those lecturers should teach theory only....right? Talking about the internet and electricity...na excuse you dey make sir. A serious researcher will get a solar system (not that expensive now) for these things. Ha ba! Na govt go do all?

Lecturers are entrepreneurs...not just govt workers. They are supposed to hustle for grants and contracts. See....they are olodos.

If they are good...they will never complain. Affiliation to a school is enough for any lecturer to make a meaningful impact. Even without government, I believe every one of them can go solo. Yes. They are just olodos. Yes...they are.

Rich and successful lecturers don't depend on the government. All they need is a platform...that is the name of the school they work with. Thats all. The sky is just the beginning. Any lecturer who keeps complaining is an olodo. Shikena.

No this is wrong.

Do you know it's lecturers that trained many to be what they are today??
I want to accept this, but it is extremely hard for me to. Anyway, kindly give me 3 real examples to back this up.

Lecturing job on itself is one of the the most important jobs on planet earth.
Exactly my point. This is a job that one does even in old age. When you are good, you will still be consulted. Go ask Wole Soyinka. As long as Dementia is not at work, the person will keep getting jobs even at 120 years old. Na the brain dem need....not the body.

Have you ever heard that Wole joined them? I can bet you that you will know one or two lecturers of yours that the day they close school, they are already out of Naija. Lol.

Lecturers are not government workers only...they are enterpreneurs sir. They hustle for grants...they write proposals...thats how it works. Any lecture who depends on the government is not good at what he does. Believe me.

See...I dont mind being one if time permits me. Cos the only thing I need is an affiliation to an institution. If i were one, that foundation is what I would use as my base while spread my wings and fly to all the continents.

Nigerian lecturers try a lot.... I'm not a lecturer, but I know what they do.... They deserve the be appreciated more than politheifcians
They do nothing. They are olodos. Nope...the same way politicians embezzle money is the way they also embezzle the little fund they get.

Go and ask Akinwunmi Adeshina, the former agric minister under Jonathan (Now Director of The African Development Bank or so) how those guys chop Naija money under him while he was tryiñg to promote agricultural research. You keep reading about agric in my posts...why? That is the simplest and the closest department the Nigerian people need now. Those guys are not doing anything.

I also know what I am saying. Of course, they will come and defend themselves here...but I know that most of them are olodos. Period.

Lol…So much Hate. Lecturers must have terribly dealt with you while in school.
Lol...So much bad radiance. The system must have dealt with you in your place of job that you see everything done in Naija as the normal way of life. grin

That's less a discussion on education, and more a discussion on industrialization, and changing economic paradigm from resource dependency to diversified economy.(which is a discussion that I would love to have, but we will be here till the sun comes down...especially as it is something that pisses me off about Nigeria).

P.S You should stop using abusive language too much. You can make your point without using the word olodo.
Olodo is a dullard. I am not insulting them, but saying that they are dullards. What do you call anyone who calls himself a researcher and cannot think of some ways to make seeds for his nation? Is that person a genius?

Sir, they are olodo...as in dullards. And dullards don't get an increment in salary. So, you don't get that this is my point? A stupid president will raise the salary of those olodos. I wrote earlier...if I were the president, I would decrease it further and promote salary increments based on performance. Shikena.

And you want the Nigerian government to keep spending on them because the discussion is about education. Lol. So, the money they will collect is not from income from industries and profit from good economic policies...right? Ok oooo.

They are olodos. Period. And olodos don't deserve fat salaries. Shikena.

Wetin be dis one problem?
Our foods are all organic, natural and healthy.
grin
Guy....you are probably living in another Nigeria. Organic? Nartural? grin Ok oooo

Besides right now na to chop any thing wey you see. Na person wey dey comfortable na him dey select.
It is normal to use this excuse, but you can think of growing your food naturally instead of eating anything you see. Over 90% of the food in Naija = cancer.
