In as much I agree that this case deserves more evidence and corroboration (may be by way of medical report), it's still wrong of you to suppose that force is an element of rape. The main elements are lack of consent and penetration.

The same rule that applies in counting the duration of tenancy from 1st of the month (1st of January) to the 31st of the 12th month (31st December), applies in quit notices.

You don't really need to quote me if you don't know what you are saying. Quit notice reads 14th to 13th too. Have you even seen a tenancy agreement, ir do you think receipt is all you need. Tenancy agreement must read the particular date of commencement, not necessarily the date of payment. Why don't you pick up the tenancy law of your state and help yourself other than arguing blindly. FYI, I practiced as a litigation lawyer for a year and now I've been into property law practice for 4 years. Tenancy terminates on the eve of the anniversary of the starting date, and not first day of the starting month.

Writing July 2017 to July 2018 is counting 13 months. If you do pay rents, you will notice that landlords hardly write July 14 2017 to July 13 2018. NO. They will rather write July 2017 to June 2018.

I'm a lawyer, and I tell you that any landlord that writes month without date is wrong. Tenancy is calculated by days not months. It expires on the "eve of the anniversary" of the date of payment. You may need to first know your right to be able to assert it. My current tenancy started form August 10, by August 9 this year, the rent expires. I'm not oblivious of some insane practices by landlords and property managers, but that doesn't change the law nor make it right.

You discovery exercise may be futile, reason being that in Nigeria, churches open everyday and there is no database for the existing ones let alone the entrants. Secondly, most new churches are not registered, and as such, are legally not recognised as a body. Some churches have less than 10 members while some have no definite place of worship. Any estimated figure will definitely be flawed.

I believe you got it all wrong. That letter must have come from the family of the Landlord.
First, the captioned referred to the man as "Your Landlord". This means that the writer is not among the group the letter is addressed to. If not, it would have been "our landlord".

More so, take a second look at the last statement " to enable us bury our father". Tenants don't bury their landlord, family does. So the president of tenants Union could not have asked them to pay 'to enable them bury" the man.
Note also that the same place referred to him as our father, which you may say is figurative, but reading the entire sentence shows that the letter is from those who see him as father (family member) and addressed to his tenants.


This is pure exploitation. People have been using culture as ground for exploitation. Funny enough, these practices were not in place before. They were introduced by hungry and mischievous fellows.

No, but you can open an account and access the loan forthwith. In this case, the bank would need your account statement from ur primary banker covering 6/12 months to determine your capacity (ability to repay). The amount is suitable for a short term facility, so I recommend microfinance bank. They are more friendly in their charges and processes. I worked in one before and will be of help if you so desire.
