I'd support your hubby's opinion, its absolutely so unnecessary at the moment. save that cash you'll need it eventually when you get to Canada.

Yhemmy2:
Hello All,
Pls I need urgent input on below matter;
If you are processing Express Entry. Is there still need to go birth in the US?
Reason for my question is;
I am currently preggy. My hubby & I are processing Canada PR. Currently awaiting our PPR but I’m not sure we will get CoPR before my fit to fly expires. Was thinking of going to the US to birth my baby but hubby thinks there is no economic importance to it and it’s a waste of money & financial resources. His reason is because we (including our baby) will eventually relocate to Canada even if he’s born here(Nigeria).
What do u guys think?
Will I be wasting money birthing our baby in d US even when our Canada App is almost pulling through. Does children not born in CAD/USA have the same benefit as the ones born there?

Pls ignore my errors. I really do hope someone understands my drift n can provide necessary feedback ASAP.

its a lot but if you have it, i think it worth it, you have a good chance of getting an upgrade. re-mark speaking and writing modules

meelola007:
Ah! 46 thousand just like that.
Thanks so much.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 6 by Eraytee: 7:44pm On Nov 18, 2018
try to add your speaking module to it for remark, just to increase your chances of getting a refund for a favorable EOR.

Silent observer here. I have been so sad about my first IELTS but this thread has been encouraging.

LWRS - 9, 6.5, 8.5, 8

Our score is currently 436.

P.S I am scheduled to re-writes ielts in Dec.

Thanks.

exactly what I'll definitely do, there is no jokes with this people, atleast with LOE all doubts should be cleared. thanks bro for your response. A resounding AMEN to bold

Thinking loud, there's no wahala here.
As at the date her US visa application was submitted, she is legally single. Application will bear her maiden name.
Got married in between visa application and interview appointment.

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 6 by Eraytee: 8:29pm On Nov 17, 2018
please e-fam I need a clarification on something, my wife was denied US visa alongside her family members just a week after our court wedding in 2016. this happened like this because they booked that appointment before we got married, so the date they were given to come for interview back then was after our court marriage. I hope this will not contradict anything in our application, because marriage certificate is just like 7-8days earlier to the interview given by embassy. I hope the VO will not say for instance how come she was married on 5th and refused US visa 12th after her wedding and she claimed single.

PS: note that US visa appointment date had been fixed before our court wedding that came earlier and I know single must have been what was filled for her in the family visa form, because as at the date of filling that form she was not married truly. I dont know how this US thing goes with family applying together. will LOE clarify this to the VO? make una no mind me say I never even get ITA ooo, I just want to know the way around this. thanks fam, please help a bro

At bold yes, there is absolutely nothing to worry about, inform IRCC via CSE immediately after your marriage. nothing is going to implicate your app. your spouse will just need MED and PCC, you might have to update your POF too if what you submitted cant cover for 2 of you. Happy married life in advance. and if the eagle lands before your marriage, you can still add your spouse. at any point you add her she wont need IELTS or ECA. all the best

snoop4dem:
Hey guys, I have a question, I submitted my application in August and my app is showing medical Passed. Maybe IP2 but these things are not fixed tho based on trends. I am getting married this December, when is the best time to inform CIC? Also If CIC does not get back to me till after marriage will it affect my application when I include my spouse or my score has been locked after (ITA/E-APR).
PS:she has not done IELTS or ECA.

Has anyone been in this situation or added a family member or gotten married after they have submitted their application but before PPR.

I look forward to comments

my bro/sis, I can relate your frustration about this, we are both in same shoes, have written 3 times now with L-7.5 in all attempts (the only issue in all attempts) . i didnt bother posting my last result cox its just same as others. have not crossed this hurdle but believe me, we'll both cross it.. feed your faith in the next attempt and completely starve your fears... have decided not to post my result anymore because am coming soon to declare the glory of God over IELTS. hang in there, it will surely end in praise smiley

shegzee43:
Hey guys,

I write this in a very sombre mood. I just received my result for my fifth ielts attempt.

L-7 R-9 W-7 S-7

It's been an excruciating experience, because just listening has been the issue. In all attempts it's been 7.5 trice and 7 twice in listening and I haven't had any issue with other modules.

I do so well while practising ahead of exam but it turns out a ghastly situation and what's more, a serious case of phobia on the test day proper.

I know few guys may have had similar experience in the past. Please, I need your counsel.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 6 by Eraytee: 1:42pm On Nov 14, 2018
Ignorance is a bastard sha!!! please go and read up.... you have a lot to learn before embarking on this journey

survivor1986:
No offense but I doubt it. How can they give both of us PPR even without her writing IELTS? Adding her without her IELTS drops our points below 440 ordinarily. So I strongly doubt if IRCC will allow us to bypass the need for Spouse’s IELTS by simply marrying her after AOR.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 6 by Eraytee: 1:09pm On Nov 14, 2018
just as stated above, you are not sponsoring her in this case, you only have a change in family composition. both of you would be given PR. if you have a child in the process add the child. all of you would get PR. please read well to understand this process.. page 1 should be your bestie for now.. all the best.

survivor1986:
If I add her as spouse after AOR, is there any option of stating that I want her to come with me to Canada? I don’t fancy this idea of going alone and later, the spousal sponsorship thing. If I am not going with my girlfriend the same time, I don’t trust our relationship to stand the test of Canada-Nigeria distance and the spousal sponsorship stuff may take up to 2 years. By the way, a man at my age of 32 and in the prime of life needs to be warming up with my woman regularly. 2 years is too long.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 6 by Eraytee:
you dont need to complicate or rush anything if you have enough info about this journey as regards your case. the best is apply as single, because your ITA will almost be an auto thing looking at the current trend of invitations. just do your court wedding after AOR and add her without stress. medicals and PCC is what she needs to provide at this stage, and you will update your POF (this you can even add before you submit your application to avoid ADR). so you tend to save money as regards paying her to write IELTS as regards your post. add spouse after AOR. all the best.

survivor1986:
I passed my IELTS of 13 October 2018. 1st attempt. 6 weeks of assiduous preparation.

Listening - 8.5 (I stealthily copied 3 answers from people in the hall. Call it malpractice if you like, but I couldn’t afford to leave 3 spaces empty. 75k is not chicken change. Lol).
Reading - 8
Writing - 7.5 (Disappointed. I thought I would get 8. My preparation for the exam was 70% writing. I would have challenged it but it won’t change my CLB score. I may yet challenge it in the next 4 weeks if Australia immigration suddenly appeals to me.)
Speaking - 8 (The examiner almost used her foreign accent to intimidate & destabilize me. But I survived)

I am 32 years old. I am a dentist; so my education is equivalent to masters (yet to get my ECA though), and I have over 3 years experience. I have a girlfriend who is in final year in the University and I want to add her as my spouse. Yea, I think I love her, even though we are just 6 months into dating. If I apply as a single my CRS score will be 465. If I add her as wife, it drops to 439. Therefore she needs to write the IELTS to make our score at least 440.

Now the advice I want is this. Can she write the IELTS first before we do the wedding? I would like the luxury of calculating our combined CRS score before I do a low-key court wedding. Or do we need to get married first before the IELTS? If these Canada people (IRCC) see that the date of the wedding is after her IELTS (in other words if she wrote her IELTS as a single), will it look suspicious that we later married just before we submitted our Express Entry profile?

All the best to those still on IELTS stage.

I think you have done well by your action, but if a LOE would let you sleep well at night, please do LOE.

ziggymanti:
Please I have a question.

My wife was denied UK Visa in 2008. She cannot remember the reference or reason given verbatim for the rejection, but it was along the lines of insufficient funds and invitation letter. This is some 10 years ago and she has since travelled to a few countries. Her passport used during the submission isn't with her now because it was collected when she applied for passport change of name after marriage.

We ticked yes to the part in the ITA form; have you been denied a visa blah blah blah... and also explained that the reason or reference for rejection isn't clear to us again and we don't have the slip anymore for reference.

Question is: should we also attach a letter of explanation stating the reason why we can't remember or reason we can not give a reference number?

Thanks

congrats to all that Got PPR, aced ielts, upgraded EORs, ITA choppers and everyone making progress in this race. to all who are still waiting to upgrade their scores, it will surely come to pass. it will end in praise for us all.

Just a reminder for us to continue to believe and not quit on this journey. Trump the US president is currently drafting a new law to forbid kids born in the US to have auto citizenship, as seen in a video recently. if this eventually materialize, then it's safe to say attention would shift to Canada for childbirth. we all need to secure the future. the bold is not correct your band score is between 32-33 on reading grading which amounts to 6.5.

alwayspositive8:
Thanks for this.

First attempt:LRWS- 7.5,8.5,6.5,7.0. BC 18/8
Second attempt : LRWS - 8.0,6.5,7.0,5.5. MOD 29/9

What actually amazed me was that my strength has always been reading I felt I did very well even to level that am currently thinking of a remark cos I kept wondering how I could I miss close to like 14 questions in that test to warrant a 6.5 in reading but when I read that getting an improvement in reading is difficult I just weak.

And for that speaking,am also having issues being that I did so well in fact i probably did better in the second attempt than in my first attempt when I got a 7.0 ...imagine 5.5 telling me am an average user of English.

Though still thinking of paying the 46k for EOR for both reading and speaking(which I doubting whether is a good option considering the cost)

Since I got that result am just in a dilemma of what next to do cos this last result really damned my confidence.

I just weak. even if am to write again should I just go back to BC or stick with MOD cos the score I had in speaking for MOD has started making me to have some negative feelings about them.

Good evening House! I’ve been an observer for awhile now and must say that all the information I’ve seen so far has been helpful. I need abit of help understanding a few things:

1. If I include self-employed in my personal history, will I be asked for supporting documents to explain?

2. If I use gift deed as part of my POF, how long would you advise it should be in my bank account before creating my EE profile?

3. Will I need to evaluate my B.Sc with WES with my Masters degree (my highest qualification) if I include it in my personal history?

4. I worked for a few months at two different jobs (I’m not claiming points for). In between the jobs, I was unemployed before becoming self-employed. Will this raise an eyebrow with the VO? Should I include an LOE for why I became self employed after my last job?

I look forward to all your opinions and contributions. Thanks! grin

thanks for that tip shared but the bold is not in all cases though, personally have had 7.5 consecutively in two ielts test, and my practice was good and in the range of the said score below, but still hoping to cross the hurdle soon, i posted earlier about my friend who had 9 in listening and never had a 7.5 in the practice tests. practice! practice!! practice!!! is key. and lets pray Grace finds us on that day. you have given a very good advice bro. thanks a lot

joo2018:
For those who find IELTS listening difficult:

"For the listening practice, I wish I had stumbled into IELTS-mentor.com prior to my 6th attempt. You should definitely use this website and, attempt finishing the listening practice tests. There are about 14 of them. The answer section will show/tell you all that you had done wrongly in the previous exams. At the point where it says "you have sometime to look at your answers" during the listening test, kindly move on to next session if you have nothing to look at. That's actually the trick to have a headstart.
(Pls, don't apply for another exam unless you start to score 37 and above in the listening practice)."

just as others have weighed in on this, the only way and easiest way to add him now that your application is under processing is by going to registry which will not for any reason raise any red flag after adding him, na POF go change shikenna and he would do the norms (PCC and Meds)

to the bold, I have done biometrics with Canada in the last 2yrs (2016&2017 for study visa), does that connote i would be exempted from biometrics after MEP?

Even if the bolded is true that won't apply to you cause you need to go for biometrics since your AOR was Sept1. September AORs are currently going for biometrics, so if cic says you have an update it would prolly be MEP and biometric request or have you done biometrics for Canada before?
