Opobo are not subtribe of Igbo or anyone. There was a crisis in Bonny and Jaja moved to establish Opobo with his followers. They were all from Bonny. The language of Opobo is Igbo like I wrote earlier but they are Ijaw. If you doubt me just pay a visit and see for yourself. Ndoki is different from Bonny. Ndoki is in Abia State close to Aba but extended alongside Asa into Rivers State bordering Eleme, Etche and Ikwerre. Oyigbo LGA comprise of Ndoki and Asa people in Rivers . Bordered in Abia by Osisioma, Ugwunagbo and Aba South all Ngwa then Ika and Ukanafun in Akwaibom.

Opobo was founded by King Jaja (1821- 1891) in the 18th century and King Jaja was a former Igbo slave called JuboJubogha but renamed “Ja-Ja” by the Europeans because the name was too long to be called. He built Opobo from scratch and transformed it to a commercial Kingdom

go and read it,Jaja was from Ndoki also known as OKWA they are a tribe in the igbo land not igbos the key word is they are a tribr in Igbo land.History clearly stated that he was sold into Ijaw land into houses of perple etc.
so my take is this, To be a tribe in Igbo land does not make you igbo just like to be and Esan man in Edo state does not make one Edo .These are the part of history not passed down t young people and they just assume.

I don't think there will be any problem if anybody legit followed due process in buying government land and paying directly into govt coffers. So you seriously think someone who built a house worth more than N100m will go and pay touts or seem too busy to matters of such importance?I can bet you my left knut,the building and approved plan is sitting in the ministry or town planning office and he must have an Approval plan that can be verified,if not how do you think they allowed him to complete the building. The approval plan of my own house cost me nearly N700k with all diagrams, however my next door settled up to N400k and they still come to stop work that was when he decided to go direct. What I'm trying to say here is simple, it does not cost a arm and leg to get your building plan approved, also to lodge your survey plan.
Another angle to look at it is the unscrupulous govt officials who approve these Plans and when checks are done they turn around and throw you under the Bus, this is the fraud Im trying to put out in the public domain.so what the way 4ward??
My take once these kind of houses are found, the building approval number must be sort after and they should locate who signed and approved the Building, he should be arrested and prosecuted in the 1st place.as it was govt who failed in the 1st place, however where there was no approved building plan which I so doubt knowing what I know, the risk is on the land lord.

Im from Rivers via my Mum, and No one in my house says they are igbos. nah so dem do Wike treat their F up. Them leave Aba and Onitsha come protest ipob in PHC.Fact is this ,as some point in time the whole areas where Igbo dominated but the vast majority of persons in the South east back then did not speak the igbo language or if they did it was relatively few words, but how can one tribe who is dominant claim everyone within its environs speak same language just cos they can understand them.

The native language spoken in Bonny and Opobo is mostly Igbo but the nomenclature and other things are mostly Ijaw and where they live is Ijawland not Igboland. There has never been a time they were considered Igbo but what has always been known is that larger part of the population came from Igboland either as slaves, mercenaries or traders with Ijaws.

The native language is not igbo, its Ijaw please be guided. If you lean to history for a bit, King jaja of opobo who apparently found Opobo was called Jubo Jubogha.(has no meaning in Igbo language) The opobo people are referred as from a sub tribe of igbo land(Just cos they existed in Igbo land does not make them igbo)They where referred to as the Ndoki people back then approx. 1870

My question has always been, Why allow anyone to build in such places in the 1st place? why approve the survey and building plan in the 1st place?

it's like na charge and bail lawyer you use. Correct lawyer will guide you on all the documents you need and where to get them and how to check the land for any encumbrance attached to it. If new government wants to use the land for something else, it will compensate the legitimate owners.

Why are you talking like this? you think someone who spent over N150m can afford N1m to do due diligence? the fact is this Govt official 2gether with omoonile are duping people into buying these lands and later turn around and throw them under the bus. There is a serious case of fraud ongoing here and no one is doing anything about it.Lagos state has one of if not the most robust team when it comes to building and planning approval, every stone you put on your building they are there monitoring.

This is why the real Estate Biz in Lagos has now come to some sort of Holt, people are being duped into building in areas designated as owned by Govt. The same govt official will legalize the Docs and sign it on for onward construction only to turn around and seek demolition after initially collecting bribe money from same poor landlord.

Good day beautiful people,
I am in a bit of a fix and need advice on how best to confront this situation .

There is this mama put restaurant besides my house in lagos but separated by a fence.
However the said restaurant is built attached to the fence in the next compound and that makes it awfully close to my windows and they cook with firewood not even charcoal but all manner of firewood.

The owner of the mama-put a yoruba woman ( very hard working ) starts cooking by 6 a.m up till 11 p.m with smokes going up and into the windows of my bedroom ( upstairs) and other rooms in my house making my room very stuffy and causing me to keep shutting all my windows .

Personally I can't stand any form of smoke be it cigarettes or smokes from burning stuffs

With the high cost of fuel I can't keep running Gen to keep my rooms ventilated and power supply is poor in my area .

I have thought of approaching her concerning this matter but from my observation the woman is very harsh n raze and I fear she might not reason with me .

I understand it's her means of livelihood but I am suffering cus of it and all my cloths in my wardrobes are all smelling smoke ... My room has smoke smell as a result of this , it only reduces if I keep my windows shut for weeks .
I hate problems and I avoid conflicts in every way ... But I have been suffering this for long now

Is there any authority I can report to ?

Or is there a better way to make her understand my plight and switch to cooking with gas without appearing like her enemy of progress ?

Please your advice is needed thanks

Option one which I doubt will work :: make representation at the state ministry of health, in your complaint express how this is impacting to your mental health and general state of mind
Option two :: MOVE OUT
