Originalsly: Staying away from one's family for extended periods .... regardless of reason.... will always affect those left behind. If we're looking at the wife remaining loyal.... then she is more likely to do so if he is on an offshore oil rig thannif he is abroad. My reasoning is offshore the husband has a set date for return..... while abroad he will be guessing... I'll be home before Christmas.... dosen't happen...I'llbe home for Valentine's Day.... it will be our best ever!.... doesn't happen.... Easter for sure... doesn't happen. Is it not then the wife will be ehmmm...... opening up to the neighbour?.... or the landlord? if you have the thought or anything close to that kind of thought then you cant stay away from ur wife for a month cos you will have heart attack for no reason, The institution of marriage of for the matured mind and the ones that sees beyond those things you mentioned.Women are not like MEN, women think with their heart why us mean think with our head,.A woman who wants to cheat will cheat irrespective of wether you are far or near. |

Nuttella: I see it as nothing but punishment, why leave your wife in Nigeria, if a man that wants to marry me won't do my visa for us to leave together, then no marriage will take place. And wen u are married for 10 years with two kids and he lost his Job and he gets the option to go hustle in London where you can at least get feeding money of 200K per month what would you say?? |

franchasng: he knows all that, he's trying to entertain his audience.
I have met Nigerian men in some countries stuck with no way to even go back to Nigeria.
For instance in South Korea, if you overstay, whenever you want to leave SK, you must pay a fine for overstaying your visa...which may run into millions depending on how long you overstayed and most Nigerians in SK cannot bring their wife or kids cos no matter who you be, they consider you as alien.
Go to Europe, we have so many Nigerians stuck there..no legal paper to even get a decent job talk more of filing for a wife to join you. Same thing is applicable to US.
Many Nigerian men that abandoned their wife in Nigeria are helpless, they wish to bring their wife and kids over where they are, but due to paper issue they cannot.
But with what they are posting here, wives of such men working extremely hard abroad to ensure their wife and kids in Nigeria are well taken care of could pick offense and believe their husband is married over there and intentionally don't wanna bring them over, it's not a cool thing to generalise such sensitive topic True but i do believe wives know the worth of thier husbands and that he is doing a good job looking after them,Cos 9ja noer easy most of thos talking trassshhhhh here still live with Mum Dad.Dem no know how far |
Family › Re: Wives Living In Nigeria And Husbands Abroad: My Encounter by erico2k2(m): 11:47pm On Sep 24, 2020 |
franchasng: complete hogwash!!
99.99% of Nigerian men who left Nigeria left out of no other chance to make it like they wished in Nigeria, some left out of failure to even earn a living in Nigeria.
Most left in tears.
Most left without any other choice. Majority left Nigeria with temporary visa and a plan to overstay their visa..and many don't get lucky converting their temporary stay to PR or green card so they resign to fate, hoping to make money and send back home to their wife and kids to ensure family is well catered for, and even though they wish to bring their wife and kids over, the odds are against them paper wise.
You are assuming too much even though you seem to know about all these, is it a deliberate act to entertain the audience or what
Aside children of politicians and the few privileged rich kids and those from financially stable family in igeria who travel out of Nigeria to study, and few to work legally as medics, nurses, etc, tell me how many Nigerians who left the country happily
Most it's because of financial difficulties in Nigeria that made them to travel abroad for greener pasture, even on visitors visa, how do you expect them to bring their wife over Well said, like I have been trying to tell him, he has no clue, |

lefulefu: pls didnt u read op"s story about his married neighbour with kids whose husband is overseas already disturbing him for sex? sadly thats how many marriages in naija with the husbands overseas tend to be.A number of their wives sleep around...except the very few who still try to keep the communication strong but then its not easy o.u are many kilometers away and ur wife is in nigeria all alone.the bedroom is cold and she is lonely.no man to hold and her friends laughing at her and urging her they have guys they can hook her up with..tell me why wont she fall.Except ur plan is to sujourn in ur adopted foreign country for a short time or u making plans to bring her over then she can still hold on..only then oo.But to be dere for donkey years with no sight in plan to bring her to join u she will become disillusioned and with what her friends are putting in her mind she will begin to doubt and suspect weda u have a new partner there with u then she will fall. Its not a new thing..it happens all the time. your 1st line is exaggeration and assumption, pls show me where the Op said she was disturbing her for SEX? |

Originalsly: Hmmm.... this issue has many sides. But bottom line... if family is that important to the husband... he would never leave his pretty young family for months. Most times... things don't go according to plan.... there is no support system ... and with the last money to return home.... pride blocks the return. How can one leave for abroad and return broke?? Many do not cut their losses and remain... illegal hoping for the day when good luck will drop their way. These are the people I strongly believe get trapped abroad... the reason for their not returning... and leaving the wife and kids in limbo. But some wives be happy.... money is no problem and they be free to live as they please! But in general.... husband abroad suffers emotionally..... wife suffers more.... but most of all.... the children suffer wayyy more than we believe and it can have long term effects. Don't even ask for my source. Experience is the greatest teacher. And people who work offshore for months or o n exploration overseas for months on end how do you tate them? |

lefulefu: Grave ke. .i no dey carry woman for head and i certainly wouldnt want extra luggage and disturbance when u want to travel. Most of the strong men then for benin wey i know wey no dey naija their wives have lovers who satisfy them. There will be a time ur wife will be become disillusioned with ur endless stay overseas and u making no move to bring her and the kids over. She will suspect that u probably have a woman over there and when she begins thinking like that she is at her most vulnerable moment.Any guy around who wants to strike at that point will easily strike and chop her or at that point she can easily get infulenced by a bad firend.she be human being with feelings not super woman.if u are a married and u travelling abroad and making plans to make it a permanent stay then why wont u send for ur wife and kids when u have settled? why just leave her in nigeria and be sending stipends and be giving one excuse or the other why cant bring her over.does not make sense. U know pig pikin aske him mama why she put nose 4 potor potor nah pig mama tell am say wen E old E go know why. Sailors nor get wives abi? or U too want thier wives to go sea with them too abi?? |

MrBrownJay1: That's because you failed to understand what I wrote... If wifey is already h0rny and willing to offer the toto, then we have to be honest about the situation, instead of pretending that she won't give up the toto to the 1st available Mandingo warrior.
If you believe that this is a bad advice, then so be it.
How can a man start a family then abandon the poor wife back home? I understand why many are losing their minds. check the meaning of abandon, however some of the so call men in 9ja live with tier wivess and wife still feels abadoned! |

lefulefu: most times if u having ambition to migrate its better not to get married when u want to married.Marriage can be like a burden when u travelling out.No peace of mind and u will be worrying weda ur wife is cheating on u.If the main reason for travelling is to study u wont be able to concentrate when in class Then u are not a MAN yet cos even if ur wife wants to cheat right under ur nose she will, worrying bout stuff like that means you are heading 4 early grave! |
